Large store with tons of selections to choose from. Staffs are very welcoming and helpful; they'll also leave you undisturbed if you need time to try out guitars.

I came by to buy a guitar stand and was pleasantly surprised that they knew exactly about the nitrocellulose-safe stands (I am looking at buying an older guitar and didn't want to ruin the finish). The different entries were a bit confusing, though. The folks in the area with DJ equipment were a bit abrupt with me.

Long and McQuade staff are the most helpful staff if you want to rent for a party that needs lighting and a music outlet. Reasonable prices and supportive if you are not sure exactly what you need. The best.

Great selection of brands. I like the fact that you're allowed to touch and play anything you want. Allows me to play guitars that I'd never be able to afford. Lots of used gear available as well.

Bought my first ever violin during COVID-19 and everyone in the shop was super friendly from the guy standing outside with a walkie-talkie "ushering" customers in to "Nicholas" on the second floor who helped me out with my purchase! I had a very pleasant experience and was happy to spend my money here. Violin was in great condition too :)

Largest selection of instruments in four or five separate stores along the same strip of road. Always check on used stock availability directly with the stores as the website cannot keep up. There is always MORE used in the stores.

My son was trying out multiple sax mouthpieces in the woodwind section today. The staff was extremely, polite, courteous, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable.

I purchased a Roland fp-30 digital piano in the store. I have to say the service is excellent! Knowing I don't have a car to take the piano home, they offered to send me home in a van. I will definitely come again!

It's not a pro-shop the same way 12th fret is but it is one of the best in the city and definitely the biggest in the city, very helpful staff and a huge selection.

Rented a few things from them, super easy to deal with, had no issues.

guitar selection isn't the best but good. good for financing and rentals. some staff great, some are totally useless

As a music student from a small town, stores like these are very rare. Great, knowledgeable staff who know what they're talking about. Selection of instruments and supplies are great, having beginner, intermediate and advanced tier items. I would definitely go here if I was regularly in Toronto. This place is a treat for an "outsider" like me and should be taken advantage of by any musician

I lost the tightening knob on a yorkville boom stand that I bought last year at this location. They gladly provided me with a replacement at no charge. Great customer service.

Electric guitar rental department staff was efficient processing my rental application and finalizing the rental when I returned the equipment.

I went here today to test out some flutes and just want to say Dwight in the woodwinds department was extremely kinda, caring and helpful. All rooms were occupied with flute players testing out flutes but he was attentive to me and worked hard to find the flutes I wanted and a space for me to play them. He was not pushy or demanding in any way and allowed me to experience the flutes in my own time while still being available for help and advice.

I strongly recommend this store and CANNOT speak highly enough of Dwight. Thank you very much sir. When I make my final decision in my flute purchase it will be from this great store because of its great staff.

Place has remain relatively untouched for years. Would like to see L&M take more risks and showcase smaller companies, luthiers instead of constantly pushing their own brands.

A wonderful staple for Toronto's music scene, nonetheless. As the music industry changes, so does the artists within it. L&M will always be Toronto's music store no matter how the industry changes around it.

A mixed bag really. Some sales people are very pleasant to deal with and want to help out, others couldn't be bothered and seem like they don't want to be there. I have found though that in general the guitar department seems to be the most consistent in terms of professionalism and quality of service. Other departments - enter at your own risk.
