I was originally going to give this hotel 5 stars....

I was originally going to give this hotel 5 stars. We stayed here for weeks at a time, and this last time things seemed to go ok. Until I was charged 2 weeks before my stay, after I said I did not want to prepay. We then asked about the difference in rates between aaa and member. Instead of just changing the price, they cancelled and gave us a new booking. Keep in mind we made the reservation and changed the price within an hour of itself. Fast forward, after we left our stay they charged an extra $130 and said it was cause we cancelled the reservation and there was a rate change. Instead of letting me speak to a manager during the 3 times I called to inquire, I spoke to the same person who couldn t help me or refund the error on the hotels behalf. Odd service for platinum members. We are going to stick to the JW down the street from now on. We had absolutely no issues there.

We went for afternoon tea which was nice and the reason for 2 stars rather than 1. We were offered an upgrade of a birthday package. This was an absolute disappointment and waste of money. It was sold as a private room with views looking over marble arch, birthday decorations, balloons, extra time and a birthday cake. The birthday cake i was charged extra for even though it was meant to be part of the deal. Close to the date i was called and asked if i would mind having a different room as they were going to be doing some filming which i agreed to assuming that the other room would be equal to the room outlined before. This was not the case i was given a room that was downstairs and had a view of a concrete wall a foot in front of the window, My decorations were a little bit of paper confetti sprinkled on the table with a few sweets some of which were just wrappers as the sweets had already been eaten. the balloons were 3 balloons that were very small just sat on the table one of which was half inflated. Its definitely not an experience i would do again and but a large dampener on my birthday celebrations as this is not a standard i would expect from the Marriott.

Three couples (including my partner and I) stayed ...

Three couples (including my partner and I) stayed here for a recent trip to London. We walked into the first room to drop off our bags before we trekked around the city for a day. The room smelled like an ashtray. We specifically requested non smoking rooms and they assured us that the floor we were located on did not allow smoking. They then informed us that they had no other rooms, but would attempt to move our room the following day. In one of the other rooms, the iron was broken, and the cleaning service never arrived until after 6pm. When we contacted concierge regarding this they informed us that there was cleaning in the morning, then turn down service at 6pm. Rather than pushing the matter we gave them the benefit of the doubt saying that it was turn down service (although they were vacuuming our room and replacing our towels). The next day we arrived back at 6pm to someone once again cleaning our room. They finished and as we are laying in bed to relax 30 minutes later another person comes in to provide us with the turn down service. We again contacted concierge to inform them of this and they continued to tell us that there was no way that was happening. During the second day they again did not move the other couple, and instead after paying $400 per night per room they left the couple sleeping in a smoke filled room. When we finally went to check out they informed us that they had given us some bonus points for our Marriott account (we are elite members), but that doing more was a ridiculous request on our behalf. As we leave and get to the airport for our flight we realize that one of our custom Frank Clegg handmade leather bags has a sticker on it (all of our other luggage was fabric). The sticker destroyed the leather and tore off some of the coloring. Every other piece of luggage was fabric, yet only one other piece had a sticker on it to show which were ours. I cannot fathom why such an elite hotel would place a sticker on a leather bag when they could have just as easily placed it on a fabric bag. The service here was absolutely terrible, and pathetic for a 5 star hotel. As the manager informed us when we first informed him of the smoke smell- I am so sorry, this is not the service of a high class hotel, I am embarrassed and we will take care of this most certainly. When you come to this level of hotel you expect the best and that is what you should get . Unfortunately the manager did not follow through on this and instead left us with a 5 star bill for 2 star service, and with a destroyed custom bag.

Yikes...walking in typical American traveling garb (jeans) was a bit uncomfortable; this place is amazing and has a beautiful interior. The doorman, dressed in the full regalia, was a hottie too ;-)

The hotel has a concierge lounge that is worth a visit, great food offering even though it is supposed to be just appetizers. I am used too small concierge lounges, this one has an intricate set of probably three different rooms. Which is very nice because you can relax and get some work done on the computer while snacking...always a plus and the Wi-Fi has a good connection too.

What can I say about our room, other than it looks out onto Hyde Park. It was just a beautiful sight and well worth spending an extra night there. The room was nice and was typical Marriott with nice furnishings and comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom...beautiful.

The one good thing about this is you walked across the street and there was a casino there, kind of down a little hidden down an alley walkway on the other side there were some stores and shops you could take a couple hours at. The only issue with that is there's a lot of people sitting on the street. I didn't really feel comfortable walking as they were sitting on the window frames of the stores. But other than that it was so nice location and well worth the time getting there.

My friend told me about this hotel and suggest to have a stay there if I was around, I have been to a Marriott hotel in Hertfordshire called The Hadburry Manor a weekend stay very pleasant atmosphere and the staff are very pleasant and freindly. A very well kept hotel to the London Marriott was also very good and will hope to visit this Hotel again, well recommended to all who visits this establishment.

First class hotel all the way around! One of the classiest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff was extraordinary and engaged us constantly. The manager Cosmin went out of his way to help us with a check in issue and it set a positive tone for the rest of our stay. We dined seveal times for light bites in Lanes of London and enjoyed it. We will definitely return here and highly recommend it!!

The lobby was small and disappointing.

The lobby was small and disappointing.
Check-in did not go smoothly and I had to wait.
The rooms are not very large and there is no bathtub in the bathroom.
I'm glad the slippers were fluffy.

Coffee Nespresso, tea, hot chocolate, cookies and water were served.
The room is clean as long as it is not small.

The bed feels too soft.
There are more Arabians.
It was convenient because there were Selfridges and Marks & Spencer nearby.

As a frequent traveler for both work & pleasure, I have to say this was one of my top 5 experiences out of 100 at a hotel. The rooms were delightful, the location convenient, and I can't say enough good things about the staff. They went out of their way to make our holiday stay special & comfortable. Highly recommend!

I am rating the recruitment process which is shamefully disrespectful towards applicants. I applied for a position within their business and did not hear from them for about a month. I then recently called and they advised that the role was filled, I complained about the fact that no feedback was provided to me whilst I applied through the account I have on their website. The lady unconvincely apologised and said that she would send me a feedback visibly to get rid of me for I never got anything since my call with her. If this is the way Marriott treat the candidates who apply for their roles I wonder how they treat their personnel !? A shame for such a big hotel !!!

We liked the hotel very much. Top location and a great view. But we decided then for another hotel, as it is not so great with kids and the proximity to the street. The extremely busy road is very uncomfortable. And then the thousands of tourists waiting in front of the hotel at the stops, etc. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent from its offers, etc. The next time we are alone suburb, we like to come back to the offer.
