When you re from New York you kind of must try this place because of its reputation for being the oldest pizzeria in the country. But if I m being totally honest I ve had better pizza than this place. Nonetheless, the pizza is not bad. Give it a try so you can cross it off your list.

Every thing was amazing the Pizza, the drinks and the staff are all so fantastic for a local restaurant and this is the top of the top and would come back the next time I come to New York.

I ate at Lombardi before. Their pizza was the closest to Italian pizza you can get in Naples, Italy. Unfortunately, this last time the pizza was AWFUL. It was burnt, skimpy on the cheese, and lacking that aroma/flavor it used to have. Who owns this place? Did ownership change? This was the worst pizza.

Not impressed by the $35 pizza pie (small clams). The clams were very chewy and dry. The facility would be unacceptable in a different state. Two filthy shared gender neutral bathrooms for an entire restaurant. It is an over rated and over priced restaurant. I would not recommended it to anyone! The only good thing was the staff (friendly and fast).

Great environment, staff was very friendly, even the guy bussing tables was cool if you will take the time to engage with him. If you're used to pizza outside of the northeast, the waitress is right when she hints to get the extra cheese. It's all a good experience but the extra cheese is definitely worth it. Make sure you ask someone on staff what is the most important thing to do in NYC.

Love this place. Original coal-fired pizza oven like 100 years old. Lots of places will say they have "original" in their recipes... go to Lombardi's if you truly want an authentic pie. Amazing!

I was expecting a decent New York pizza in an overpriced tourist trap, but we could not have been happier. Staff was great. Long wait line moved quickly. Food was excellent and price was very reasonable (for NYC). Was a great overall "New York" experience. I would highly recommend.

I now understand why Lombardi's is and remains a referenced NYC pizzeria.
Went here with a group of 15 French wine industry people for a Thursday dinner recently. (Groups are allotted a 2-hr time slot.) While the reservation and arrival process was a bit complicated, once seated, all was fine. Service attentive, kind, calm and efficient.
We ordered a number of pizzas and pitchers of beer (thankfully, the resto has beers from independent breweries), and all came out of the kitchen as ordered. The pizza itself was delicious: thin, flavourful, crispy crust with a slightly salty touch; real mozzarella, perfectly fresh basil... The pepperoni, too, was the real stuff.
We ordered five 18" pizzas, which was largely sufficient for our group. The waiter even remembered to give one guest the separate cheque that she had requested at the beginning of the meal.
Highly recommended.

In my opinion Lombardis is very overated. It's ranked as one of the best pizza places in the world. But really, it's just the landmark status and the history that sells this place. The wait time is usually a bit long. There are plenty of better pizzerias in New York, so I would skip the wait.

Pizza was nice, we had the White pizza which is without tomato paste and was really delicious and different than usual pizzas. More than pizza the ambienc and know that the place is the first pizzeria and running for over 100 years adds a nice feeling. Recommend to try if in Manhattan.

Not all it's cracked up to be but the pizza is okay. It's more about the experience of sitting around with friends, but it's far from the best around and you can find better places to hang out with friends and family. Also, the pies are pretty expensive for what you get. They have a small bar and a good amount of indoor seating. However, there's usually a line of people in front while waiting for a seat. Tourist groups come here all the time and it gets packed seemingly out of nowhere.

Decent Pizza, not so friendly staff and overpriced. This place is famous for Tourists, more than it is for Locals. As a local, I can tell you that this place doesn't have the best Pizza.

Lombardi's, the first pizzeria in America. Lombardi's has an amazing atmosphere and history behind it. It truly feels like a unique experience to eat here, almost as though you went back in time. The pizza is amazing as well, some of the best I've ever eaten in my life. My only issue is that I personally didn't like the crust.

This is by far the most Exquisite Pizza I have ever had. They don't serve slices so I had a calzone instead. The place was established in 1906 and it's still running at full swing. Do a reservation as it is always busy. There pizza bese and the sauce are the best part of their Pizza. Pepperoni and oven roasted pepper are their best toppings. The ambience is also like a traditional pizzaria... Great service great food and great ambience. A must visit when in New York

First pizzeria in the United States, historical site and in the pizzeria standard of Little Italy. Cozy place in the main room, they put us in a corner on the second floor, but it is part of the charm. Good service, with friendly people, do not accept credit card (cash only!). The pizza is yummy, made with whim, nothing spectacular. Worth the experience.

If you want to eat a very mediocre pizza and pay way too much for it, Lombardi's Pizza is the right place for you. If you think this is just a regular restaurant, you are mistaken: They serve drinks in plastic cups, they don't have real plates either. This place manages to be cheap but yet overpriced at the same time. They claim to be New York Cities first pizzeria, if that's true, they really didn't age well. Sad!

Pizza was average/burnt and extremely overpriced. It feels more like a tourist trap than an authentic Italian restaurant. Water served had black particles. Oh and they only take cash...

Its a stand by. If people visit and want NY Pizza, I take them here. It's an old spot that still cranks out awesome oven pizza. sauce is perfect, not too sweet and seasoned so nicely. be prepared to wait. go early in the week to avoid lines. its worth it.

Amazing to know this is the very first pizzeria in the United States. Definitely a piece of history you WILL NOT want to miss.

What was interesting was coming in on a Monday night, when the restaurant was apparently not too busy, perfect timing I guess! I've had other friends tell me their wait times were on the order of hours to be seated, but my buddy and I just strolled in and got seated downstairs immediately!

As I was a first time New Yorker roaming the streets and checking all the recommendations of my fellow foodies, naturally I was full from all the street food and other delectable items from the NY food culture. We decided to just split a large Margherita with sauteed garlic spinach and sweet red peppers, simple and to the point. Best pizza choice I've ever made. Six slices, and as full as I was, I still made a point to eat as much of that pizza as I possibly could (which was conveniently three slices, leaving the other half for my friend).

Marshall Eriksen's rendition of the bite of pizza comes to mind as I write this post:

"Aww the crunch, and then marinara, that roiling lava of tomato and oregano; it overtakes you. I'm falling. And that's when she catches you. That chewy voluptuous mistress -- Mozzarella. Oven-kissed cheeks crackle with warmth in your mouth, cradling the sauce and the bread, letting you know from now on this is home. This pizza... It's home."

There you go, as authentic and NY and Italian as it can possibly be!

Very bad! They dont accept credit cards and this is not visible, the staff dont inform about it. We were waiting for 25 minutes for a table and we had to go without eating. Why they work like this? They have pagers and all tecno stuff to reserve tables but they dont accept a simple card...Was like a bad time travel.

It's a nice pizza place with a lot of hype. Although I did think the pizza tasted very good (and so did their Bruschetta), I feel like I could have gotten equally good pizza for a cheaper price in the area. The atmosphere is very typical tourist Italian and can get very loud when the lunch and dinner rush is in the house but it's still a fun time. They are also cash only and pizzas can be pricey if you're not aware of how much you're really ordering. Overall, a good experience.

What a wonderful experience in Lombardis- New York s first and oldest pizzeria! We were lucky enough to be brought through to the kicthen for a tour and an opportunity to get the famous (celebrity) photo!
Pizzerias are no longer licensed to be built with coal ovens, so thankfully this one has been here since 1905! All pizza is cooked at 900 degrees in the 115 year old coal oven!
The restaurant closes everyday 4:30-5 to replenish the coals!
The pizza is perfectly crisp and the sauce is so delicious, they were so accommodating for our dietary requirement on a half and half pizza too!
What a wonderful experience, our server was great and completed our experience in Lombardis! Highly recommend!!!

One of the oldest pizza places in the city. Pizza is thinner than most and a bit expensive, but just remember you are paying for the experience and history more than the actual meal. Service is average at best.

Prince street had a long line this afternoon so I rolled the dice on Lombardi s. Their pizza had the same price point as Prince. $5 for a pepperoni slice.

The slice looked promising with large tomato pieces on top, but when it arrived it was disappointing. The sauce was cold and the crust lacked the fresh crispness. Too bad:(
