Overpriced place with terrible service and hard-as-rock pizza.
Overpriced place with terrible service and hard-as-rock pizza.
The worst pizza I have ever eaten ... I know we are not in Italy but you can easily do much much better, even fairly expensive !!
I can see why they are the oldest pizzeria in NYC. Delicious.
This was a disappointment. It's the oldest pizzaria and a tourist destination but I found the pizza to be mediocre at best but at $30 a pie, clearly the management thinks it's better than it was. I'd forgive this if our server was stellar, but that wasn't the case either. I'd suggest you step in, take a look around, and then go find better less expensive pizza somewhere else.
Oldest pizzeria in New York City. The tables upstairs have a cute little garden view. Oh, and the pizza is awesome!
Excellent Pizza for a fair price. I came all the way from L.A. to see what the hype was about this place and was not disappointed. The service is also great. 10/10 would recommend.
Part of my family's trip to NYC was to have a "Pizza Tour". Over a period of 4 days, we had pizza from several locations. Most places we had a slice each, but Lomardi's we had a huge pie. I thought it was the best pizza we had on our "tour".
I would revisit Lombadi's every time I come back to NYC.
This was the most expensive pizza place we have ever visited. It definitely was not worth it. The pizza was much drier than any pizza we have had. The crust was not edible. Drink refills cost extra. Restrooms were filthy. Save you money and go to another authentic New York pizza restaurant.
CASH ONLY PLACE. It is crazy to find a business with a relatively big size not accepting credit cards in 2018.
That being said, the pizzas are OK, but not amazing and far from generous with cheese. Especially given the price of the pizza. $24.5 for a Margherita, you can expect something exceptional. And eating in paper plates is... Not something I would expect in a rather expensive pizza place.
Pizza was decent but not enough to want to go back.
Awesome white pizza! And it had a good restaurant feel. Cozy and delicious... and well portioned.
A must when in New York. The dishes are very delicious and are lovingly prepared and served.
The staff are all friendly and accommodating.
This is very underrated. Excellent flavor in the crust and sauce. Very top level Napolitano pizza.
Great PIZZA!!!! Friendly staff. Beautiful environment. Having the owner be such a friendly gentleman is such a plus for us. Chicago ladies loved Lombardi's. Thank you so much.
Excellent pizza; usually takes time to find a table.
The pizza is good but what paper plates have to do with cult evades my knowledge
If I could give ZERO stars - I would. I was super excited to try the pizza and wanted to like it, but honestly, even Pizza Hut is better than this tasteless cardboard. This pizza is HORRENDOUS! It had NO FLAVOR. You pay $23 for a small pizza which is fine... if it was good. Many better pizza places in Little Italy and the rest of NY. Best suggestion I can give is to take the Metro North train to Yonkers, Danbury or New Haven and eat Frank Pepe's pizza. That place is THE TRUTH. Lombardi's must pay for these 4 and 5 star reviews.
Pizza was pretty good, but not for the price. Pretty cramped & very expensive. Honestly I wouldn't recommend going here.
This place serves the BEST pizza in the world. I have been all over the globe and even live near a Patsey's but this place is the best hands down
Overpriced food that is served on paper plates and in plastic cups. Average tasting pizza. Tomato sause was school cafeteria quality. Run down decor that is overdue for an update. Cash only makes no sense in 2018.
The prices have increased over the years but the pizza is still yummy.
Pretty good pizza. We ordered and quickly shared a 16" margarita pizza. Perfect for 4 of us.
The pizza is nice and small but its pretty full most of the time
For the price and amount of positive reviews, it was not the best pizza I ever had.
Not that good there r much better places sauce not too good
A definite tourist trap! It's not worth your time. There is far, far better pizza out there - even from a box in your frozen section at the grocery store...We went there for lunch and had regular pizza w/ pepperoni and meatballs. I had heard how great the pizza was and I love pizza! It was the biggest let down - the worst pizza I've ever eaten. The crust tasted salty and like it was cooked in propane or something burnt, the sauce had no flavor, the cheese had even less flavor and was sparse. They use tiny pepperoni and the meatballs had a gamey flavor. The service was fast as they try to get people in and out as quickly as possible - which I do understand in that kind of business. Pricing was reasonable for NYC but that's about the only good thing I have to say. It's cash only, so if you don't have any on hand they conveniently have an ATM strategically placed outside, lol!
Great pizza. Nice decor. Very good service. Sometimes a bit of a wait but worth it.
Pizza over priced even for NYC. Meatball tasted previously frozen. Disappointed :(
One of the kings of NYC Pizza, Classic and amazing Pie's
Best pizza in NYC. Has been around since early 1900's and the food is amazing lots of options of you don't want pizza. Don't be in a hurry cause there could be a line but it is so worth it. The meatballs are amazing too. Great place, great vibe. Excellent staff. Really nothing to not like.
Small pizza, the quality is that of any NY pizzeria, the expensive price, average of $ 30 per pizza, the soda is refillable, only takes money, waste of time, the pizzeria belongs to the original family. Expensive with disposable cup and plastic plate
Should be supposedly good pizza, but this is rather below average for my European taste buds.
The place itself is divided into several areas, of which the bottom looks nice, unfortunately we only got a table in a secluded area, which corresponded to a gazebo on the roof. The service was fast and good, though at least $ 35 for a pizza.
But you should not expect real plates, these were made of cardboard. Please do not believe any guides who praise this pizza over the measure.
Delicious New York style pizza. The price is medium / high, the service is very good. It tends to be very full so it's better to arrive with time. I had to wait 30 mins to get a table. But the pizza is worth it.
Very nice italian atmosphere. Food was delicious. Server was accommodating with a few food restrictions of our party. It is cash only.
Overpriced (~$30 for a pizza) coupled with the moderate quality certainly does not justify this price- at all. There are way too many places in NYC to get pizza to legitimize stopping here.
Pizza is pretty good. Service, not so great, pretty "you should feel privileged to be hear" attitude from the service staff. Drink spilled on the table and waitress looked at it and walked away. Again, pizza is good, snobby service
The pizza was just ok. We didn't make it on our trip last year and it was top on our list this year. Almost $40 for a small 3 topping pizza, I was expecting better. The staff was very friendly, the place was very clean and the pizza was quick to arrive at the table. We hit about 15 pizza places for a slice here and there. If you're looking for memorable pizza, there are better options out there.
In the middle of small Italy you enter an Italian restaurant similar to that of the movies. Gastronomic offer not extensive but very rich. Try the pizza with arugula.
**they only accept cash**
For the price this pizza looked like every pizza in NY. Definitely felt the environment of this place didn t separate themselves from the other places I have been.
A pizzeria that has been in business for 113 years. Wait for entry and then finally you can order a 16 or 18 inch pizza. A Must Do
A curious place in the heart of Little Italy. Traditional Italian atmosphere at its best. Good pizzas, pictures of celebrities on the walls, ... They do not accept payment by card, only in cash. Inside there is a cashier where you can get the money you need.
The reputation holds true. Not much beats the original modern pizza. There will almost always be a wait; but, the atmosphere doesn't inspire folks to linger, so turnover is quick and efficient. Even of you're a jaded New Yorker, this place is a must-visit.
Bad service. Went there after Guy Fieri's recommendation but was utterly disappointex
Yummy pizza. Got the half and half! Half white and half margarita with meatballs!
Pizza , pizza .... But not like in Italy . Not even an Italian or behind the bar or kitchen
Ridiculously long wait for ridiculously expensive and marginally above average pizza. I mean, it's good but not worth the hassle and rushed service.
Great atmosphere. Professional and quick service. Amazing pizza.
I had high hopes for Lombardi's... We didn't enjoy our pie enough to reccomend to others or return ourselves.
super touristy, good pizza but there are better options without all the fanfare
Cash only. Prepare to wait in line. Two salads can feed 4 people. Pizza sauce was good.
Great original coal oven pizza. Friendly customer service. Menu is limited to pizzas, calzones and a few other things. They are cash only, no cards or checks so be prepared.
Used to love this place , and the pizza is still good , but price is out of control.
This is probably the best pizza I have ever had. They have great service and a friendly staff. The 3 star rating is for two reasons. First, I ordered a twelve inch pizza with pepperoni only and it was $26 dollars. Even though it s great pizza I think that s a little steep. Second, once we ordered our pizzas it took 40 minutes to get it. I came in to the restaurant already super hungry so that was definitely a turn off. It s wasn t that busy as well but hey, sometimes things happen that the customer doesn t know so I guess it happens. Still the best pizza that I ve had. Thanks for reading.
We went there because of the reviews we read.
Biggest mistake of our trip. Very expensive place, pizzas have literally no taste, the bruschetta there is a joke.
You can find better pizzas in 1 million other places in NYC, for a third of the price. Don't make the same mistake. Go somewhere else, please.
Lombardi's is pretty expensive for pizza, but it is worth it! Depending on where you're sitting, service can be slow, but we've always found it to be friendly. Somehow, we always seem to end up being seated in the upstairs back room, which is generally pretty quiet.
Last time we were there, we got a Cake Boss Special - the prosciutto is put on after the pie is cooked, so it doesn't get all greasy. We had eggplant on the side - per our waiter's recommendation. Excellent recommendation! At any rate, the pizza was delightful, with a crisp, but not too crisp, chewy crust and just the right amount of topping.
But, in my opinion, the real gem, at Lombardi's is the spinach calzone. I get one every time we go. Double spinach and mozzarella. Probably the best spinach calzone anywhere!
While I think it is too expensive, for pizza, for every day, it is definitely a go to restaurant.
Unfortunately nothing special .. Far too much hype for a normal pizza in a normal restaurant
You wanna hear a joke about this place? Nevermind it's too cheesy!
It's good but not great. Perhaps worth checking out for the history but if you're just in town for good pizza go around the corner to Williamsburg Pizza. Better. Cheaper. No wait.
Old school place with old original pizza of long ago.
Normal pizza, not worth the $ 22. Since you only pay the name, believe me or not.
The pizza was worth breaking my gluten-free diet We shared one big pizza and had 1 glass of wine each, took us $57, was worth every cent
This place claims to be the first pizzeria in the US. This place was very crowded and uses a surprising amount of disposable products (from the paper plates to the plastic cups). It only accepts cash and has a limited selection of pizzas. We got the white pizza, which while tasty was quite pricey.
After living in NYC for my entire life, I only recently had Lombardi's and I don't feel like I've been missing out that much as I've had Grimaldi's and Totonno's.
Was a huge fan of the sauce but felt like the crust would have benefited from a bit more sauce or cheese. Gasp!
Friendly staff, tons of bathrooms but always a line. Sort of thrilling to walk through the kitchen to get to the farthest bathroom/seating area.
The food was great. The wait was very long outside and it was 18 degrees. The wait staff stinks my waiter cheated me with my money and said that she didn't get a tip. The main waiter talks behind people's back and he also smells as if he was in the gym for 5 hours.
Really good pizza with a great environment although service is very rushed and not personal. If you are just looking for great pizza try Bleecker Street or John's
Great meatballs and sauce. Pizza was good but super cheap on the mozzarella for 25$ with no toppings
True Historical site and great pizza. Good service for a relatively good price. Well located.
Lombardi s - The First Pizzeria in the United States! It s 114 years old! Definitely a historic place! It s a one of the best Coal-fired Pizza in NYC and in US. Crispy, juicy, fresh and delicious! You should absolutely try this pizza. Thank you Lombardi s!!!!
Waitress brought us a Margarita pizza instead of a white pizza and then had the nerve to lie and pretend that we had ordered a Margarita pizza even though everyone clearly heard me order a white pizza and the Waitress even repeated the order when she took it down. What kind of expensive pizza joint treats customers like that?
Incredibly good pizza. The staff here was very nice and was kind enough to put up with my drink friends and myself. In addition the pizza was about as good as can be and they we're not too mad at us for coming in 20 minutes before closing. They we're even kind enough to suggest a local dessert joint that was around the corner. Will go there again.
Great pizza. Fast service. Good place for the entire family
