Great coal fire pizza and service. Worth going once. First pizzeria in city, landmark, cool experience.
Great coal fire pizza and service. Worth going once. First pizzeria in city, landmark, cool experience.
Have a historic slice of pizza at this restaurant before you die. This is a bucket list kind of place the pie is fresh the dough is thin and the sauce is light and very rustic its a homemade kind of pizza nothing commercial about it.
Disappointed. When we travel from Colorado to NY. We always go out of our way to get Lombardi's Pizza. This year I was disappointed in the Pizza, it was not as good as the last trips. In the past the waitstaff had always been attentive and warm, not this year. Probably wont go back.
The pizza was hard as it was a left over pizza.i wasted my 49$ for to 2pie.
Pizza was dry,no taste,no seasoning, over hyped and over priced
Pizza is delicious. They have a variety of options. The wait can be long, but in my opinion it's worth it. Great service.
The food is okay but not worth the over expensive prices. There is no option to pay by card/google/apple pay. Its cash only which is very inconvinient. Items are overly priced for the quality and quantity provided. Long wait times and arent worth. The restaurant is just overly rated.
Recommend to visit and here at this historical pizza spot at least once. Cash only place, they do have an ATM on site. Large pie doesn't really fill up a group of four. Try the Italian soda.
Absolutely a pizza place you must visit in lower Manhattan.
Excellent I went with my family to spend an afternoon
Definitely a gem in Little Italy. The service was friendly and entertaining and the place was set up surprisingly well, giving the space they had to work with. You can walk right by the ovens in the back and immediately see how hard they are working to prepare your food. It's easy to tell the place has been in business for a long time. You get that old NYC nostalgia right away. The pizza is definitely a four out of five. We tried three kinds within our group and shared from each pan. All were amazing and presentation was a solid five out of five.
Good food.
Cash only though.
Not just the best Pizza I've ever had but maybe the best thing I've ever eaten in my life.
Pizza can't be beat. Crust is both crunchy and chewy, sauce just right. Perfect.
Used to come here a lot. The quality is not as good as u remember, and they sat us upstairs in a second floor expansion that had acrylic slabs covering the windows. It did not keep the freezing air out and we had to eat with our jackets on the entire meal. We had also made a reservation for 8 people days in advance. It was an unfortunate experience, given the pizzerias history and tradition.
Nice thin crust pizza with a good amount of sauce and not too much cheese. The margherita was very good. The price (almost $30 for a large, half pepperoni, half plain) was understandable and okay for the place that bills itself as Ameica's first pizzeria! Great waiter gave the place a true New York flavor!
I tried the Margherita pizza and it definitely lives up to the hype. Came here to try the authentic new york style pizza and was not disappointed. My only negative comment would be about the service. The waiter seemed like he did not care about the customers. Other than that, great food!
Great service, better pizza and clean restrooms. Traversing the maze-like interior alone is worth a visit, but the excellent pies make exiting a slightly more labored affair.
Had to wait about 50 minutes for my order. Too much.
Pizza was good, but why so much time?
20 min wait. Not bad. Told 15 minutes for a pizza, took 45 not good. Overcharged us because of bad math. Seriously! Oh yeah they burnt the crust. Hmph! The only thing going for the is it was edible. But I've had better pizza.
I spent 38 dollars on a pizza for my first time in New York for me and my girlfriend and was expecting it to be at least heavenly but it was just okay. The crust was unique and hand made, and the ingredients were fresh, but it didn't taste anything near worth 38 dollars. The tables were extremely small and they gave you paper plates which just irked me. I prefer domino's, or pizza hut because it has more flavor and is definitely worth the price compared to this places.
If you're a local you'll go there a few times if you're a tourist it is a must. You will never have a better tasting pizza but remember one thing it's cash only and there is an ATM there
Awesome pizza and Grandma's meatballs where very good great ! Lot of friends talked this place up and it didn't let me down can't wait to go back. Bring cash (cash only).
Exceptional customer service Everyone was super friendly and attentive, even the owner made sure we were well taken care of.
The pizza is DELICIOUS and lives up to its expectations of being the 1st pizzeria in America (established in 1905). Definitely highly recommend %
Not a huge menu, but what the do have is done well.
Expensive Pizza and Plastic Cups.
Host was not nice and clearly not accommodating. The place was empty and we were waiting for an extra person. He rather make us wait standing than letting us sit while waiting.
Pizza was just OK and waiter friendly.
Water and soda on plastic cups. Classless
Great experience on my one and only visit. Service was good. Pizza was good. Only one size, so that made decisions a bit easier. House dressing was delicious. Nice, casual sit down restaurant with the decore of tradicional casual Italian eateries.
Delicious Pizza and a great cultural environment. The staff is super friendly. First pizzeria of America
It's also the place to make the most authentic food pizza and pizza in New York. Within a month I stayed in New York, I fed my belly in good health, and my mama feasted. By the way, the serving waitress was perfect. He does his job very well. Pizzas arrived at the minute, he brought our orders correctly and completely. He was a professional. I could not remember the name, but he realized we were Turkish and he said he would come to Istanbul for his friend's wedding in September. We also said that we are very pleased with the services and that if we come to Istanbul we will be able to host our hotel.
Overestimated place. Long queues and the pizzas are not worth it.
It was considered the first to introduce pizza to America in 1905
LOOK NO FURTHER!!! This is THEE BEST PIZZA IN ALL OF NYC!!!!!!!! Stop wasteing time and just get there! FYI - cash only! Average $ for 2 people $50-60
Delicious pizza, traditional and simple but so good!
Quintessential place for pizza while in NYC. Centered in Soho, this building is the entire reason pizza spread through the nation.
Tourist trap.. I don't think it's bad but I'm pretty sure you can find a better pizza in Manhattan
Some of the best pizza I've had in the US.
Yes, it is a bit of a tourist trap, but it is still fantastic. Flavorful sauce, wonderful crust, and they had very friendly service here. The meatballs were incredible.
Great pizza! Note that this is a cash only establishment. They do have an ATM inside the restaurant if you dont carry cash.
One of the oldest pizzerias in NY. Local very well decorated Italian, but the food is normal and expensive.
Pizza here wasn't the best in the city, however it was worth it. It is a historic place being recognized as the first pizzeria in America. The staff are super friendly and their Margerita pizza is very tasty.
Four stars solely for the unsavory price, but just about anywhere you go to get world famous pizza in NY will be at least $20/pie. If you can look past the barrier of your checkbook, this is the best thin slice pizza in the world. Yea I said it... The world. Bleecker Street Pizza comes close, but Lombardi's is famous for a reason. The people there are very helpful and nice. Seating is convenient and not crammed at all (something you can't really find in NY dine-ins). I had the Margherita pizza and was not disappointed. Worth every penny - worth its weight in gold. Plus, you got Ferrara's right down the street for a dessert for the ages. There aren't many no-brainers when it comes to New York. There are pizza and dessert joints on every corner. Rest assured, dinner at Lombardi's is a no-brainer.
For years I heard go to Lombardi's. Well I did and was disappointed. Cash only. The pizza was cooked correctly but small. 6 slices. About 12 to 14 inches. Cheese was minimal and sauce was tangy and good. However for 28 bucks plus tax its not worth it. Now I can cross off Lombardi's off the bucket list. .
Still hold a candle compared to California or Chicago style, imo. Although can be touristy, wait for table are fast. Just don't expect to see locals here.
Underwhelming and way overpriced. I tried the calzone and it had a very nasty burnt taste; I guess that's the taste of the charcoal oven? Not a fan at all. I usually like wood oven baked pizza usually...
The atmosphere is quaint and quite lovely. You can see the place has a history and it feels nice to eat in such a staple establishment. Just not a fan of the food, unfortunately.
Not worth the wait or price. Can get better pizza in many places in NYC and can even pay with a credit card as Lombardi only accepts cash...
Nothing special about this place...
Average pizza and less than average service. This place is overpriced for the quality of pizza they are serving, and the staff are (on the most part) quite unwelcoming. The place was empty when we walked in, which probably should have been a sign. With so many fantastic pizza options in this neighborhood, Lombardi s is not worth your time.
Really great pizza for a great price. I think the cash only thing is supposed to authenticate the place but tbh it s just annoying.
Great place, great vibe. Excellent staff. Really nothing to not like. This place is an authentic Italian restaurant. Best of all for us, was the hospitality.
This pizza place is SO GOOD! If you're visiting NYC (or even if you just live there) this pizza is SO worth it. It's popular though, so there may be a wait :) I definitely recommend the Margarita Pizza
Definitely THE best pizza in SoHo and Lower Manhattan! Authentic and delicious!
Embarrassing for such a famous place. Sad service, pizza overcooked and plastic cups for the drinks. 1 star is imho too much anyway.
Well organized and ran. You can tell they have been doing things for a long time.
This pizza was delicious. Wish it was a little bigger, but it was yummy.
Good food, good atmosphere, good service. Best NYC pizza out there. Nuff' said.
Delicious food. Tables open on off hours and during the week. Cash only.
Awesome atmosphere with okay food that does not live up to the hype. Exorbitant prices $30 for a whole small pie. Lots of better pizza joints in the city, save your money and go elsewhere that has great food. If you're just looking to gain bragging rights for eating at Lombardi's, feel free to give 'em a try.
Good pizza. Typical pizzeria environment. Good prices.
Menu does not show enough choices, good pizza.
The cake boss pizza had too many greens on it.
Next time will try something with more meat on it
