Loved it.. Lots of animals but not too big of a place that it leaves you exhausted when your done.

We went on a field trip day and still did not feel crowded, there were enough animals to see, the train ride was about 5minutes, it was fun but not a must see in my opinion.

Where are the animals. Hardly any animals. Understand the construction but disappointed.

Not what it used to be. Came here 6-7 years ago and it was wonderful! Now seems to be less cared for. Faded signage, overgrown enclosures, and dirty enclosure areas. A sad visit for us. Hope it returns to its former beauty!

walking path is laid out well, but the animals seem like they aren't as well cared for as compared to other facilities. The living areas also seemed old and small without many manipulative for the animals to interact with. Our toddler really enjoyed it, though, seeing the exotic animals.

For the price you cant beat it, me and my four children, wife, roommate, and a family friend all went to little rock from fort smith to see the dinosaurs at jurrasic quest, and spent a hefty amount of money to look at poorly painted plaster. The following day we decided to go to the zoo, it was close, we were in town, and it's a life experience my children had yet receive. We spent half of what I spent at jurrasic quest and had 200x the fun. It was mid winter and a lot of the smaller primates, and the bears were in for the winter either to hibernate or to keep them in a more climate controlled place. And yet their was still tons to do and tons to see.

My only complaint if any, was a lack of water. Im not sure if the lack of water in the exhibits comes down to finances or the weather. Both are plausible, if budget Is the concern I would have gladly paid twice if not more what I did for the experience my children had here. Obviously seeing primates and things housed is complicated, but everything I witnessed here was humane, clean, and handled. I would just consider tackling the water situation. Sloth bears like to swim!

Great zoo.I enjoyed the different animal enclosures. They were active in the morning.

Lots of animals didnt even have water. We also didnt get to see a quarter of the zoo

I love walking through the zoo, although I thought it was pricy. They should lower the price until they finish remodeling.

It was such a hot day but we had so much fun seeing all the animals and the bird exhibit they had going on that day.

Nice small local zoo that I would say is perfect for younger audiences. The animals are well cared for and the staff/care givers are friendly and knowledgeable. We can easily spend just a morning or afternoon there. We like going when it first opens as I feel the animals are the most active. Some areas could use some updating and it appears the organization is moving forward on projects.

Simply wasn't worth the admission price. - I am wheelchair-bound and there are far too many steep hills to navigate and the map was confusing. - Be sure to not anger one particular lady in the ticket booth! - It's obvious she hates her job and she doesn't hesitate to take it out on you! - On the bright side, the grounds were well-kept, but it's just not worth a three-hour drive to visit

The best Zoo I've been to in my 20 something years of living... all the animals were out an active..this zoo was quite big in size so prepared yourself to walk.. I enjoyed the fact that they had koi fish throughout the whole zoo of each little Lake part they had... 2 thumbs up...* a place u Must VISIT!

Love this zoo. The emphasis is on the animals, rather than a lot of noisy games. They have a lot of programs that partner with the community.

A lot of exhibits are not open right now, there weren't very many animals out to see. The grass is too tall in many exhibits, makes it hard to see the animals that were out.

Good little zoo. And the gorilla enclosure is very secure so no need to worry about that.

Not that big, it wasn t crowded at all on a Friday. I thought the price to get in was good but paying to park and paying $3 per person for the train and carousel was a bit ridiculous. $12 for me and my 4 year old to ride the train and carousel once, and $3 to park. A lot of the animals weren t out, and exhibits weren t open. But I guess you get what you pay for. I d go again if my daughter asked but I wasn t that impressed, especially since where I live in Alabama has a very large zoo (expensive but much more than here).

They have really downsized. No more camels no more elephant rides kinda disappointing.

Went to the zoo on a 1st grade field trip. Lots of with my kiddo and friends!

The zoo was clean and staff we encountered were friendly. They had several empty exhibits though.

Not a large zoo. But it is wonderful, and the perfect size to see a variety of animals in a few hours.

Went with my grandson class and we all enjoyed it so much .

Gorgeous zoo. Lots of habitats for the animals. Good amount of shade on this 91 degree day.

Take anyone that will come with me!! I love animals and the zoo. The people here are super friendly and quick to answer any questions or fill any requests asked. Love love LOVE

Okay for a smaller zoo not that difficult to walk around, but a lot of the animals are not active. There's not that many large animals.

I went about two years ago (September 2017) and I just can't stop thinking about how much this place appalled me. The exhibits were small and dirty for the large majority of the animals (and it stank more than any other zoo I've been to) with the most memorable areas being a line of primates with concrete floors and tiny indoor and outdoor areas and a Catalina Macaw being kept in the aviary that was caged off in a small area about 20 feet off the ground. A cage like for a macaw that might be acceptable for a companion bird with several hours of out time, but not what you would expect for a zoo. As a parrot parent, that was immensely upsetting. I would never allow a macaw in an open aviary where people walk through, but give the poor thing its own area with other macaws where it can fly. It was difficult to see, but it wouldn't be shocking if it was showing signs of plucking (maybe a reason it was largely kept from view).

A notable runner up was the elephants, which had an incredibly small area, but better than the small primates and macaw.

Wikipedia states that this zoo intends to create bigger spaces for the animals, but how long will it take? It has been two years and, from what I've seen, they just add a new animal when they want to update instead of actually improving life for the animals already there. I am pro-zoo and this was really upsetting.

As a side, the majority of food places and stores seem to be closed on any given day and human areas weren't well maintained or pleasant when I went.

Pretty good zoo for a city like Little Rock. A lot of the pens were empty and some animals were hard to see, but my kid loved it.

Two animals in as many months have died at this zoo due to not recovering from anesthesia after an examination, considering how close together the incidents are and the number of animals housed, I'd say this zoo is due for an inspection by the AZA.

Old 4 Star Review: Surprisingly expansive zoo with a wide variety of exhibits, friendly staff, and beautiful landscaping. You'd never know you were right next to an interstate which speaks volumes to the planning. They've experienced a lot of construction related disruptions, affecting water features, and overall access, but it's still worth a visit, and rivals many of the other zoo's I've visited.

Good way to burn a couple of hours. Lots of animals, and they were all out and about, except the lions. When my kids and I went, they were doing construction on the lions den. A lot of walking if you plan on seeing everything, which is normal. But easily accessible for all types of people. The bathrooms were impeccable. And air conditioned. Nice visit.

Really enjoyed our visit! For a smaller zoo, there was a large variety of animals, many that I've never seen in larger zoos. Everything was so clean and well-kept. Animals looked well cared for.

We like coming here a couple of times a year. It's a great place for the family. The train ride is way too short. Not worth the money.

The staff that works with the animals and give the presentations are great. But the animals seem to be getting more and more agitated, as time goes by. The last time we were there the lioness was up on the fence trying to climb, although if it really wanted to get out I guess it could use the tree that now goes over the fence. The weather wasn't bad and the noise was not as bad as over visits so I don't know why the carnivores, even the small ones, were so agitated.

It was my first trip but I felt like half of the exhibits were empty.. may e I just couldn't see them or they were hiding.

The weather was nice. Not too crowded. Most of the animals were out and about. We went in around 9 am stayed until 2. We ate lunch at the cafe. It is a great place to spend the day with the kids. Nice play areas. Just a few habitats were under construction.

Great views of the animals in habitat friendly setting. Snack bar is great, with good quality burgers, chicken fingers, etc. Great playgrounds for kids and sitting areas for grownups. We love going here several times a year.

The Little Rock Zoo has improved so much it the past few decades. It's truly a pleasant place to being your kids and explore. The grounds are so nice and serene. The restaurant is nice and is not that busy in the mornings.

We went and paid full price and over half the animals were not out. 1/4 of the zoo was closed due to renovations. They should let people know before they pay that 1/4 of the zoo is closed.

The day we went it was hot but windy - not many animals outside.

Fun place to take the kids. Our family had a great time. There are many exhibits and so much to see. Only drawbacks were how early the park closed and the concessions were OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive.

It was small but it was clean and very friendly staff.

This zoo is awesome! Feeding the beautiful lorikeets was my favorite part! I liked they had a lot of shady areas and mist for a very hot day like this. Can t wait to go again!

It seems like the zoo is trying to make itself better but they aren't there yet. We went for a discounted rate as part of a field trip and that was fine but probably would have been unhappy if I paid full price. Lots of construction, animals not out and empty cages, and closed areas.

Quite a few primates and simians. Food is okay. Good playground for the younger ones. The service is lacking. They need to revamp the way they interact in the front office with the customer. They need to have an exit that is not the gift shop, so every trip doesn't end with kids complaining.

The day we visited we saw either really sleepy animals or incredibly feisty animals. Which is what made this trip super entertaining. The male Chimp seemed angry at us and threw something at us multiple times. Thankful for the metal fence. He gave us a dance before throwing something at us. Pretty cool honestly. The young chimp was so fun swinging on their play area. Then the lioness was super "interested" in our Kinder son. Her "pawing" at the glass was quite the show! It seemed like a clean zoo. We enjoyed our time. But for us 1 trip to t bis zoo will be enough. Nothing makes us want to go back.

We go every year for Autism day. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The animals are well taken care of.

Not a good experience. When we went to take pictures/feed the birds a bird was biting our toes and the worker said maybe you shouldn t be wearing sandals. When it was 90+ degrees. The animals were not taken care of. They all looked so depressed or stressed out. I ve never seen a bear pace back and forth. Another bears claws were extremely grown out. The elephants looked very sad. Everything looked so sad.

Several exhibits are shut down. Definitely not what it use to be but good enough for small kids visiting their first zoo

There was construction which made navigating a little harder. I however was very impressed by the zoo. Some animals were not out because it was very hot, that is not anybody s fault. I live close to one of the top rated zoos in the country and visit zoos wherever I go.

The Little Rock Zoo is a wonderful family outing. It has a great animal collection and beautiful garden displays. The cafe has some really good food as well. It's the wildest place to visit in Little Rock!

I will go again.We went on a Sunday. It was quiet.Friendly and clean. Got to see most of the animals. Loved the cats of all shapes and sizes. Very affordable.Wish they had a aquarium.The exhibits needed water and most were not big enough especially for the bears and cats. Not enough places to buy food or water glad we brought our own. Picnic area was closed so we sat in the truck. It does look like they are expanding and remodeling.

Great zoo with excellent animals. Needs a lot of landscaping work, but would recommend the zoo to anyone going.

Its making great progress as far as the animals there. Parking is spacious unless they are having dollar day.

So welcoming and organized. My preschooler was very excited to learn more on a Saturday and LR Zoo was ready!

The zoo was great. A few displays were out of service, reason behind the four stars instead of five. I would definitely recommend it as a fun family day.

Absolutely lovely! A venue at the zoo served as the reception area for my friends wedding and it was simply beautiful. The holiday decorations made the zoo especially charming. I can't wait to go back!

What a rip-off we only saw half of the animals that they advertise. If you have little ones than I highly recommend it. But if you are an advide animal lover than I wouldn't even go.

Me and a good friend walked around for hours. Hadn't been to a zoo in 25 YEARS.
Bring your own lunch, the cafe was out of Coke & French Fries..gift shop is small, but not over priced.
$3/ Person for Mini-Train ride..
Great Job to the whole staff working..we shall return for a membership now..

Great place had a good time kids as well just wish they told us there was some exibits where closed like a main one crocodiles and snake habitats that whole building was disappointing but kids still hade fun

A pretty nice zoo. Some construction made a few areas hard to navigate. There is NO GIRAFFE but they have a giraffe on all their branded items. Toddler was looking forward to the giraffe, big let down that there was not one. Bring plenty of water because the drinks (even water) are expensive. Water fountains and bottle refill stations were all turned off (we went 7 February)
