I always look forward to a visit to The Little Grill. They offer a wide variety of vegetarian options, making it easier on me! They keep their menu fresh with seasonal menu changes based on what is available. The lemon poppy seed pancakes are to die for. The staff is always friendly! ...and now I'm hungry.

It's a trendy place rather than the place you go to for a great breakfast. The last time I ate there almost all of the clientele were half my age. The coffee is good and my wife can get a gluten free buckwheat pancake. That's the main reason I go. I've only been there for breakfasts, but I've been there many 20 times.

We had one of the most pleasant experience here. Food was very tasty. We can taste freshness and care it was made with. Molly was very welcoming and courteous. Sad that we don't have restaurant like this where we live. But definitely come back when ever we are travelling this side.

They were so helpful a few weeks ago while I was placing a takeout order! And they even went above and beyond and brought my food out to my car for me so I would not have to wake up a 7 month old and 2 year old!! LIFE SAVERS!! Plus the food was super yummy!

Pros:
-Groovy and modern environment
-Wonderful staff!
-Well managed to make the most of your money
-Surprisingly affordable!
-SPECTACULAR food with an evolving menu
-Almost exclusively local ingredients
Cons:
-You pretty much have to call ahead (under normal conditions)
(Literally no other cons)

The menu is wonderful, with plenty of ingredients on hand to tweak a meal to suit vegan diets. Even if you just want to point at a meal with a (V) next to it and say "that, please" there are so many great choices! Prices are good, too. No "atmosphere" markup or "our food is unique in this town" premiums so far as I can tell.

The service is quick and friendly, even during lunch rushes, and the food comes out very fast considering so much of it is scratch-made and individualized.

While traveling up and down 81 once or twice a year our plan is to hit up the Little Grill every time we pass Harrisonburg. Few places are comparable.

This place is a little hole in the wall place. It is located right next to an automotive repair business so looks are not the best around the area next to it. The building is a bit old as well. Inside isn t the newest but looks can be deceiving.

It was fast service to be seated. The place isn t super big but it was big enough I think because the parking is hard to come by to be able to eat here. We noticed some people come in and get food to go.

Service was good. She brought everything we asked for. She was helpful with questions about the menu as well. Average response time for bringing extra butter, syrup, etc. My water never got refilled though and we were there for over 45 minutes sitting down.

The menu was quite interesting.

I got the buttermilk pancakes which I thought were a little dry. They were good but not my favorite. I would prefer IHOP pancakes over these. The restaurant or waitress seemed to be a bit skimpy on the butter. They only brought me enough butter to barely fit on one of the pancakes. I got the short stack so it was 2 pancakes. I wouldn t order the pancakes again. They weren t as fluffy as I like them.

I got the whole wheat biscuit to try out and it was good for a wheat biscuit.

One of my breakfast guests got the burrito bowl. It was good. He said he would order it again.

The lemon poppy seed pancakes were really good. My friend said she would order it again.

The bacon was good but nothing special.

The sourdough French toast was good my friend said. He would get it again. He ate it all.

The home fries were fried chunks of potatoes. They were good and crispy but nothing special. The ketchup on the table that I used to dip the potatoes in tasted homemade and we are pretty sure it was homemade.

Prices were not bad. About average for breakfast.

This was our first experience there. The waitress with green hair was very rude, not only to us, we heard her speaking rudely to other customers as well. I don t plan on spending money again at a place where I leave feeling disrespected. I ll give a 2 though because the food was decent and the guy helping her was friendly and helpful.

It's been years since I last ate breakfast at the Little Grill, my hangout in the mid to late '90's. Had the buckwheat pancakes with added blueberries and had to order real maple syrup. Also two eggs over easy, they could have been done better, just a little bit of whites runny and the bottoms a little hard but it was super busy as it always is on Sundays so it can be tricky to get them perfect. The coffee was a blend they said but I found it too dark for my tastes, fortunately they kept the half and half coming so I could adjust it to my tastes. Staff were very friendly, I hope I didn't bother the one wait staff who I complained about the coffee to, later I saw her smiling so I don't think I ruined her morning. I left a good tip and let the cashier know that it was a good breakfast.

Our hungry mother bowl and egg-and-veggie scramble were delicious and the portions were just the right size. We also appreciated their unique selection of soft drinks. I regret, though, that I could not get the falafel salad i initially ordered because they had run out of falafels. The waitress promptly returned from the kitchen, apologized and got me to order something else, but I was left wondering why they just couldn't make more falafels...

What a great find. We were driving through Harrisonburg, looking for a bite to eat. I have been on a plant based diet for almost two years and we hadn't found a restaurant like this at all since we left Mississippi. GREAT food, kind service, and a fair price. Good college-town restaurant. I hope to come back.

Nice quaint breakfast joint. At their busiest on a Saturday morning we only had to wait 20-30 mins for a table. The French toast was perfect and went well with the fruit compote. I hope the open another store!

Stopped in for breakfast party of two. Told it would be a twenty five min wait when a party of two got up and left. They bussed the table and my daughter and I thought perfect there going to seat us. Instead they rudely told us go outside and wait. Which wouldn t have been that bad but it was in the 30 s outside. Needless to say we went outside alright and got in the car and left. There s plenty of places to eat so we will never be back.

Our waiter, Chris Briggs, was the best host one might imagine. It is always a pleasure to be served by someone who likes what they do and does an incredible job. Thanks Chris for a great evening!

Stopped here on our way through and had to come back on our way home. Very friendly staff, and good food. Healthy options and fresh ingredients made all four meals and the lemonade taste and feel great!

Excellent food and service! One of the most flavorful breakfasts we ve had. Small place with a warm cozy feel, family friendly. Staff is so considerate! Example; an older woman came in and obviously had fallen into hard times, they didn t treat her any less courteous or attentive. Very very impressed by this. Will definitely come back anytime we re in town. Facts that also make this a great place, it s employee owned and they make public the amount of products that are locally sourced. Truly farm to table, Love it!!! Don t let the area or outside appearance fool you... we almost left when we first arrived. SO glad we gave them a shot, our entire family LOVED IT!!!

Was at a job site right beside the Little Grill and went in to buy a couple drinks. I was given two colas in a can of a brand I'd never had before. Kinda pricey too, $1.50 each but they were cold so I bought them. Glad I did too. They were sweetened by cane sugar and tasted amazing! Makes me want to go back and see what other pleasant surprises they have waiting for me. Thanks

The best place for brunch in the valley. Little Grill is a local restaurant in downtown Harrisonburg. Everything on their menu is locally sourced and menu (mostly vegetables) changes seasonally. Highly recommend!

The Little Grill Collective is an iconic spot of Harrisonburg. It's been around for ever (I worked there briefly in the mid 1980s). Lots of good vegetarian food, with options for vegan, gluten free and even some meat dishes for those who still like to eat dead animals. Great hipster vibe but friendly. My favorite place to eat in Harrisonburg.

Awesome, inexpensive menu options. There are also a lot of meat-free options available. The food is great and the service is stellar for such a busy spot. Expect there to be a crowd if you re going on a weekend for breakfast. Other than it being small in size, it s one of the best local spots.

Great food, great atmosphere and great service. In town for an indefinite number of days by will of an old, tired auto that is in for repairs. Breakfast at The Little Grill Collective has been a highlight of my time in Harrisonburg to say the least, and has has me considering a return visit of more intentional indefiniteness.

Little Grill is a perennial favorite, though I am rarely in the area to take advantage of it. I love the funky atmosphere, with old and new pictures, wooden tables, and inspirational graffiti in the rest room. The star of the show, however, is super healthy delicious food with an emphasis on local produce and live stock, organic or chemic-free. Lots of vegan, vegetarian, and GF options. Best of all, Little Grill is an employee-owned collective, with shared decision making. Their social conscience comes through in many ways.

I loved this place it was amazing. The food was good, the service was good. The only minor problem was the wait time was decent but I guess that was because quality takes time so I can t really complain. And for four people was only 40 bucks. You can t beat that. So anyway a theismplace is a must if you are passing by.

This is a wonderful little place tucked away in Harrisonburg. Last week was the second time we had eaten there while visiting family there and we were again very impressed with the service and food quality. Even if you get something as simple as pancakes, they are unbelievably good. The menu will appeal to vegans and vegetarians, which I am neither, but there was plenty of awesome menu items that would appeal to anyone. Delicious, well prepared, and plenty of it. And the coffee was amazing. 5 stars!

Excellent food choices from local producers and suppliers. They have mostly vegetarian fare with some vegan options as well as options with meet such as ham, bacon, and sausage. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. Overall, brunch here is a wonderful experience.

Oh, it was lovely! The food was delicious, not too heavy on me. It was well portioned. The atmosphere was cozy and warm. The service was fantastic: friendly and nice people. Definitely go there! Even if you are just passing through Harrisonburg. They also have special evening events. I will be going there again.
