The lion and lobster has always been a great place, great food friendly staff I could never say a bad word about the place. The upstairs beer garden has always been stunning. The photos of it cant do it justice you have to experience it. Its not your typical Brighton boozer a great place to bring the family as well. Never had any trouble in there. Always 10 out of 10 for me.

This is a delightful spot hidden from the crowds. A shame that a number of the draught beers were unavailable. However, the fish & chips were lovely. Frequented by some locals who think they are 'characters' but are just boorish, it's still worth visiting. Staff are lovely.

Fascinating 3d labyrinth of a place, with staircases next to each other but with totally different destinations.
Food very good (especially sweet pudding) and lovely dog-friendly atmosphere

Our favourite pub in Brighton, the real ales and food are excellent, it's decor is idiosyncratic in the extreme (ie pink exterior and wc pan used as seating). It is true gem, whilst not exactly in the centre of town, it is worth seeking out.

Just had the most wonderful Sunday roast here to celebrate my friends birthday. We had a great table in the restaurant, the roasts came out in good time and were all delicious! The atmosphere was cosy and the service was friendly and very attentive. Special thanks to Yannie for really looking after us and going above and beyond. We will all be back for sure, a happy and memorable day

Came here for the Sunday lunch. Expectations were high from reviews. First positives. The pub itself is really amazing and full of cool nooks and crannies. The outside area is great too. So the negatives, I'm not sure if staff had called in sick but it looked like there was an issue as they were running around like hellfire. The roast was good but the potatoes were undercooked, meat was a tad on the cold side and we had to ask for extra gravy. I think this was a one off so still worth a trip.

Sunday roast was lovely, Good service, very accommodating staff who were friendly and
helpful. Got us more gravy, gave us a drink on the house for free as missed on the order and paid for.

Will definitely be going back, thank you!

We've enjoyed several really nice meals here, however they have a serious problem with customer service. I tried to book a table for Sunday lunch and explained I might be a couple of minutes late (as they only do 2 hourly sittings) and was told that if I was late the table would be given away. I commented that it was fine on previous weeks and the woman replied "well, its not fine this week". Very disappointed, rude

Mega nicely decorated pub! Absolute feel-good feeling. For the location I give 5/5 stars, for the food and the service upstairs in the restaurant's point deduction. With pizza and burgers but you certainly nothing wrong. And we said: the location Love!

One of my favourite pubs in Brighton. Stays open late, has a genuine pub feel and benefits from being split into several very unique sections, from the traditional downstairs, up to the the first floor with a very elegant restaurant plus a cosier & more sedate 2nd bar, and further up is a very well constructed outdoor terrace.
The food is a big draw here and the ability to order high quality reasonably priced pizza's until closing time is a feature I am yet to see rivaled in other Brighton pubs (just a shame they scrapped the fennel sausage and mushroom pizza!). The beer selection probably the least exciting thing about the Lob, as unlike many other places they never really change their ale selection, though they do have Harvey's, Darkstar & Doombar so can't complain too much. Service is all in all very good & you have to hand it to the team for dealing with such a high volume of customers. Unrivaled Atmosphere.

The best boozer in Brighton is at the bottom of my road. It's cosy, welcoming, comes with an array of typical locals (I can say that as I am one!) and does a great pub menu that shames most restaurants. It's been known as the most successful pub in Brighton & Hove and I always bring my friends here when they visit town!

We were invited to join a friend for dinner who lives in Brighton. The food was excellent from a carefully and well designed menu. The staff were unbelievably helpful, courteous and just professional. The various rooms to eat and/or drink were brilliantly laid out and I love the retro theme. I have not seen such a diverse and appetising menu which is priced so sensibly, where the food is nothing short of excellent.

A dark and stormy pub, with I highly hidden entrance door. The pubs soft furnishings are perfect for a conversation to be absorbed. Remember your way out, or you might be lost in there for ever.

Very poor service. Some of the food didn't come out until 30 mins after the rest had arrived. No explanation or mention of the delay, we had to ask what was going on. The food that did arrive was just ok, the potatoes tasted like they'd been reheated. Given that we'd booked in advance, paid a large deposit and offered to pre-order, we expected better. We did eventually get an apology and the offer of a couple of desserts.

This pub advertises football and yet you have to ask twice for the sound to be put on (just before ko)
..then music still in background! Not good at all but stuck here now.
Great pub but go elsewhere for your footy fix-somewhere they appreciate fans who want to watch a bit of the build up with no muzak.

Great place always lively and busy. Good atmosphere....but don't stand near the doors when busy as you do get bumped into, unfortunately I found out the hard way on my last visit.

I really like the Lion and Lobster. Plenty of different rooms, a good atmosphere, dog friendly, footy on TV and lots of nice food. The last time I ate here I noticed they had Foie Gras on the menu. I couldn't understand why a nice and chilled out pub would have such a disgusting thing on their menu. I haven't been back since as I would never ever eat anywhere that sold this horrible, vile and cruel food. Please stop selling that and i'll come back!
