As one of the oldest pubs in brighton it definitely has a wealth of charm. The interior is cosy but interesting too as, there's lots of knick-knacks and prints to look at. The staff were upbeat and gave us a nice warm welcome. The food was good, only one gripe... my husband ordered the fish and risotto with clams and mussels. It wasn't risotto rice and there were no clams. Was disappointed that they didn't inform us when ordering. The rest of the meals however were spot on. Highly recommend this pub, will be returning!

The Lion and Lobster blends the perfect mix of fine dining and outdoor casual drinking.

If you are visiting the UK or Brighton in particular, this pub is a classic example of a quirky (the name?) English Pub.

You can find plenty of dark little cost nooks for a more intimate setting.

The upstairs outdoor seating isnt exactly wheelchair accessible but it is perfect for an afternoon drink, also the restaraunt itself has a delicious selection (the roasts in particular )

I can see this pub being ideal for an event ie. Birthday or Anniversary aswell.

The LnL used to do one of the best fish n chips in town. Sad to say this is no longer the case. Fries where from frozen (McCain or similar), fish was from frozen and soggy as well, batter is far from as good as it was, portions are smaller and price is higher. Pub itself still as lovely as ever but tge food was one of the main reasons i would go here and take visitors for fine pub dining, will think twice now.

Lions and lobsters, strange combination for a really interesting place. For an Italian it seems the original version of the British-like pubs in our land. Like many albionic pubs, in addition to taps, there are always two or three casks for pump beers. The atmosphere is that in a place out of time low ceilings, carpets and woods, small and poorly lit tables, beautiful ... Discreet gastronomic part with the inevitable chips and a strange Greek-Turkish Romagna combination with hummus with beautiful mint Greek feta and piadina alla romagnola cut. The drink is excellent, excellent IPA, with a strong British flavor. Absolutely promoted. The local logo is also nice. All beautiful.

we've been coming in here for 3 or 4 years when we visit Brighton. We eaten twice before downstairs and the food has been great. The atmosphere great and the beer fantastic.

This time we booked a table and was sent upstairs to the restaurant. Unfortunately the 2nd floor dining room by the upstairs bar is adjacent to an outdoor terrace where smoking is allowed. This meant that the dining room was filled with choking cigarette smoke - I thought that to allow cigarette smoke to pervade an indoor room was illegal these days.

Anyway it made for a poor experience and appalling atmosphere - we will not visit again, and i encourage diners not to attend until the policy is changed and smoking on the adjacent is banned.

It was so bad out hair and clothes stank of cigarette smoke when we returned to our hotel.

The Lion and Lobster was the venue for my 70th birthday party. The pub brilliantly looked after me and all 31 of my fellow guests, slightly adjusting their menu to our taste and giving great advice on wines, using Spotify for my music choices, setting up tables to suit us, giving us great service at the bar and tables, enabling a microphone to be on hand for a couple of speeches and generally making the evening run like clockwork. Thanks to Yianni in particular for overseeing. It made the occasion very special - and personal - for me. We love this pub and will be back!

Before we went to dinner at the Lion & Lobster, my cousin in Worthing said we had made a good choice. We were able to decide that for ourselves. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Classic British pub. Was a good way to finish up our visit to Brighton. Parking is tricky.

First visit and what a wonderful place. Food & drink excellent quality and value. Terraces will make smokers think they've died and gone to heaven but smoke not too intrusive. Restaurant and bar areas are very classy with fabulous atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

But what really sets Lion and Lobster apart from other pubs in Brighton is its hidden terrace. Tucked away at the back of the building behind an unassuming door lies a beautiful outdoor space that's perfect for enjoying drinks or dinner al fresco during warmer months.
