Biggest let down I ve ever experienced. This place has so much potential it s silly but they just can t hit the target. The menu is extremely limited which isn t a bad thing if what s on the menu is done very well. This is where little Abners fails. One of the sides is ranch beans which are literally tasteless and aren t even worth putting on a plate. Lil Abners have you ever heard of salt maybe some spices? They serve a salad too and it is not worthy either. The steak was good and perfectly cooked but the price was a little steep. We paid just under $100 for two ribeyes and a couple of drinks which is steep for what you get I don t mind paying big dollars for ribeye meal but it better be more than just a ribeye. I get that little Abners is an institution in these parts but come on guys I can do better at home.

Really nice 'old west' atmosphere and open flame cooking. The no bone-in ribeye was VERY tasty but also very expensive for the size. I think they pounded mine flat to cook it medium-well in the same time my wife's twice as thick steak which she ordered medium-rare. They offer up to a 32oz steak which I may try at some point. Filet mignon only comes in a petite 6oz portion. Unlimited (and tasty) toasted bread and bake beans accompany your meal but I personally found the beans to be very bland and actually added BBQ sauce to give it some flavor. Sorry, I would have given a higher rating if not for the price alone, but lowered it further to 3 stars because the steak was thin and the beans, not tasty at all. Get there early for 1/2 price drinks.

Not a great first impression, the service was poor and finding our waitress Connie was like pulling teeth. Honestly the food was very tasty and that s why we gave three stars. The service left a lot to be desired so I m not sure if it is worth the trip.

They don't offer choices for your sides. It's great if you like beans! Steak was great, but for the money we would have preferred options. We only tried it because we are new to the area. We won't be going back. There are at least two other places nearby that offer way more choices.

Great atmosphere. They had live county music playing out on the patio. But we sat inside. The service was a little slow. We were seated and ordered drinks. It took 10 minutes or more for them to arrive. Then another 10 minutes or more until a waitress came to take our order. The food arrived in normal time for a steak and salmon. Next time we should sit on the outdoor patio so we can enjoy the live music while we wait.

The steak was big, but pretty thin. Probably difficult to get medium with it that thin. I didn't find much pink. Next time, and there will be a next time, I'll order a thicker cut, or order medium rare.

The seasoning was good. No need for A-1 or other sauce. But a little too much seasoning. Watching the guy at the grill, he was really dumping it on. I think a little less would have been better.

Check out the outhouses when you're there. A fun concept. You'll see what I mean. Lol

Overall, great food, great western atmosphere. Feel free to wear your boots and hat. I probably will next time I go.

For a tourist trap it's ok but the chicken and Salmon were completely dried out and $52 for a 16oz bone in Ribeye is pretty extreme. The $14 hamburger was very good, actually cooked properly, but the Top Sirloin was tough as nails. Picnic benches aren't very conducive to a full dining experience.

Good place, good atmosphere, but a bit pricey for what you get. Rolls would be.better than a slice of bread. Slab of ribs much smaller than they used to be, but they taste great. Overall good place.

First let me say that I have been a fan of Li'l Abner's for a long time and have made sure to stop by whenever travelling through Tucson. I have heard from associates that the quality has gone down be went there last week anyway and had the rib-eye. The steak was cooked properly but the cut of meat was of low quality and full of grizzle. The salad was a bowl of lettuce with a singe onion ring on top. The beans were cooked to mush. The wait staff were great. Overall a fairly poor steak meal and not at all worth the money.

Went back this week to give them another try and once again had great service, however, the food was terrible. I ordered beef ribs and they were without a doubt the worst ribs I have ever eaten. Very, very, very dry, overcooked, just plain terrible. Once again the salad very minimalistic and the beans were cooked to mush.

I'm afraid that this business is on the decline for good reason. Not worth half the very premium price. Stay away.

Fantastic service. Courteous, respectful, and tentative. Never let our drinks run dry. Checked with us often to make sure all was well. Tucker did a great job. Food was very good. My rating of 4 would be a 5 but I felt some of the prices where a bit high. However o ordered the half rack of pork ribs which I paid 16.95 not bad. Some of their steaks are in the $40.00 range. Very rustic back woods atmosphere. Live music some nights. Overall enjoyed our meal and do recommend this restaurant if in NW Tucson.

Service was slow, we were told it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait and it took 50 minutes. The steak and ribs were very good. Nice outdoor area with picnic tables, heat lamps, and live music. As the only sides offered I was expecting more from the beans and garlic toast.

Steak was dry. I'm mean really dry, like the sun and it was over cooked. There is more to steak than throwing it on the grill and it tasted bland. The salad wasn't that great, McDonald's has better salad. It was flavorless and so was the beans. The beer however was good. So basically I paid for the atmosphere.

The food was good and the waitress was attentive. The $$ rating on Google is wrong. Should be $$$. Also you or your children better like salad, because under no circumstances with they substitute anything.

Over priced for the quality of food/drinks. The atmosphere isn't at all appealing. Lightning makes it impossible to read menu or really even see your food. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that enjoys a quality meal in a aesthetically appealing establishment.

Excellent restaurant. The quality of our steaks were suburb. Its different as we walked up there we could see grill and smokers where they do the cooking. The food, atmosphere and staff get a 5 star but be prepared to pay a hefty bill.

We visit Lil Abners as a ritual every February as part of the Tucson jewelry and gem shows. I always order ribs and literally drown myself in the sauce. As Aussies we love the atmosphere, we have found a small part on a wall to add our names (even though we subsequently can't find it again). We'll be back in Feb 2013 and will most definitely re visit and look forward to the whole experience all over again. It's theatre and even if the food is not 100% at all times, I've been to restaurants that do pride on their fine cuisine all good but the atmosphere is boring. Love the authentic rusticness (is there such a word??) of the place.

It has been 5 years since I've been in the area and the place hasnt changed a bit. The steaks are still some of the best I have ever had and the servers are friendly and helpful. I find it difficult to put into words how good the steak is here.
Also, the were able to accommodate our group of 16 very well, even on a busy night. I sincerely hop I can return sooner.
Killer steaks, family style sides, and great times.

Have been there many times. Who orders fish in a steak (meat) place. I did. I found it delectable, and would order again. My friend had ribs (pork) which she enjoyed. They also have beef ribs. I have enjoyed both.Service was good. Place was clean.

Having explored Tucson and driven Uber this last year, one of the places that stood out pre-pandemic is Lil Abner s steakhouse. I finally went to check this place out, and I am not disappointed; the food is excellent; the staff is excellent and very friendly. The atmosphere is both authentic and exceptional. I would thoroughly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great experience with amazing people and top their food and drinks definitely a business to support in the hard times.

Service was OK, steaks and burgers were good. Salmon was overcooked by double. Chicken was a dessicated carcass like it was cooked last week, left uncovered then a coup de gras on the grill for too long. Beans were undercooked a bit. May have been a fluke, it used to be good, been a while though. Were there for my 93 year old grandmothers birthday, first time she's been out since covid so we didn't say anything, just choked it down.

The only thing that came with the somewhat tender steak was beans that didn't taste good. Salad was a small bowl of chopped lettuce. Nothing on it. You want baked potato or sweet potato, corn? Oh, that is added $2.50. No problem. Won't go back.

Nice rustic old west atmosphere. Friendly and very attentive wait staff. Wife had the chicken dinner, which she said was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our son had the ribeye cooked medium rare. He said it was quite tender and had great flavor. I had the sirloin cooked medium and it was very flavorful and tender. The salad, which came with all three meals, was rather small, plain, and unimpressive. Grilled bread with salsa and cowboy beans were nice as sides with refills offered on multiple occasions to which we obliged. Dessert was offered but we declined as we were much to full to indulge. All in all it was a nice dinner experience and we will return often and will recommend.

Li'l Abner's Steakhouse is a legendary restaurant that has been serving Tucson, Arizona since 1947. The restaurant's rustic decor and friendly atmosphere make it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family or friends.
