I've been here several times and the food is good and the service is good most of the time. I mainly come here for the beef ribs and the ribeye is tasty too. I also like the kettle beans they serve as a side. The atmosphere is rustic cowboy with bench seats and very casual.

Love this place. No frills, great steak, and so much friendly/kitschy hospitality. It's like no other place on earth. I visit Tucson 3 times a year and always come to Lil Abner's on every visit.

The best steak in town, hands down. Not only do they give you a great cut of meat, they also privide salad, beans, and bread with every meal. This place has such a great country western vibe. The interior decor is so interesting. The walls are decorated with liscense plates and the names of guests over the years. Be sure to take a look at the restrooms too, they look like out houses on the outside but they're actually much larger than they appear.
Very cool place. I highly reccomend checking this place out.

We were there last night to celebrate our friends birthday he hadn't been there since 1973 and this is where he chose to celebrate my husband and i didn't get our baked potatoes my husband ordered a 2nd beer he didn't get and the kid cleaning tables was rushing us to get out there constantly coming by to pick up dishes. I have to admit I was a little disappointed I hope our friend wasn't .

I've been going here since I was 4 years old. The best STEAK I've ever had. It's expensive but I think if you have never been there you should try it out once. If you like it it's worth going a couple times a year.

Seriously---the absolute worse food I've ever had...I was to take a friend from another Country somewhere unique---I picked this place--they made it sound so fun--the food do good---it's all a lie---and expensive? RIdiculous----when they bring your steak on a platter big enough to put a small turkey--alone---in the middle of the plate--really? If you want anything else beside their crummy beans-it will cost ya---My 8 yr old grandson could cook a steak better than this---don't go and don't let their flowery description of the place fool you, either...find another..another thing---II think all the positive reviews were written by employees or relatives--what they said did not match anything about the place...

Very disappointing, ordered 3 of the same steaks. Gave my child half the steak but still charged full price. Obviously knew what they were doing otherwise why didn't I get the half steak? Overall, sadly 1 star is the lowest i can give. Disappointed.

We had a blast checking this place out. Hands down best steak I've ever had. The history of the restaurant alone makes it something special but when you add the quality of the food and the atmosphere, it becomes that much more. We didn't get to experience the live music, but I imagine it'd be a fun night.

Great food and excellent service. Hubby and I are seniors and we aren't as quick on our feet as we used to be. I have a walker and the staff was so helpful. It is our absolute favorite place to eat. Oh and they aren't chintzy with the drinks. You can actually taste the liquor in your cocktail.

Still awesome.

Still awesome.

We arrived early and set out in the patio. They lit a heater that was located at every table.

The outdoor mesquite grill was fired and ready to go.

We ordered a ribeye and a rack of pork ribs. Awesome flavor.

This is not a world-class Steakhouse if you're thinking about Morton's, Ruth's Chris or El Gaucho or any of those other high-priced premium places, this is a down-home western-style steak that's cooked over the grill with real coals and Fire, but has all the tastes that you will require from a premium Steakhouse, the steak was superb and cooked perfectly, add the beans and the Texas toast and the salad, oh and there's a salsa which you need to blend with the steak and the beans like the Cowboys did in the old days. Also, their premium Margarita was very tasty, And the Ambiance was awesome. Absolutely will be back.

Over priced food. $44.95 for a rack of beef ribs. Tough to chew an not very good. Ordered a bake potato for $4.00 dollars, came with a packet you tear open to put on the potato an a tab of wrapped butter. So cheap for this place. Has gone down hill over the years. Dave your money. Go else where.

We were so excited for a dinner out with friends. The dining experience was less than expected however. Even though the bar had very limited gin choices my martini was acceptable. Wait staff seemed to be rather disorganized to the point that some of us had to wait for more than 30 minutes for our entries. 30 minutes to cook a salmon fillet??Salad consisted of a bowl of lettuce with an onion ring on top. Bleu cheese dressing was good. Bowls of boiled pinto beans arrived looking more like bean soup. I did not bother tasting them or the bland white bread toast. Everything else was ala carte. My ribeye was overcooked and arrived in pieces on the plate. I sent it back. Steak # 2 finally arrived in better shape and correctly cooked. The flavor was good but rather more grisly than expected. All of this for an over priced steak? I think not.

We had a tough time deciding where to go on my last night on Tucson. Decided on the steakhouse and saw the parking lot and didn't think we stood a chance of getting in! Seated immediately, awesome waitress, and food was out of this world. Ranch dressing was delicious! Filet and pork ribs melted in your mouth! Too bad we live 1500+ miles away!

Steak was not cooked properly, asked for medium, received a very well done thin weak steak. Sent it back and was equally unimpressed by the second steak. It breaks my heart to write this review I used to love this place as a kid, it HAD so much character live music and dancing now it's overpriced, and a waste of a friday night.

Overpriced for the mediocre quality of the food. We were charged 'market price'=$53/10oz bone- in ribeye. This was our first time here. Had read other reviews so decided to hold a birthday celebration here. Although I ordered my steak medium I received no more than a 6oz thin steak that was overcooked and tough. Garlic Texas toast was more like slices of Wonder Bread with regular margarine and if u want a baked potato it will cost you $4 each. The positives were their beans, which were very flavorful and our server was very nice. As we were celebrating a birthday she brought a hot fudge sundae on the house. Wine selection is mediocre. The final bill (for 4 people)was $279. For this price we should have gone to Sullivan's or Flemings or other high end steakhouse . We won't be returning.

The place doesn't look like much from the outside, and the inside is kind of farmhouse looking, but the food will blow you away. The petite filet mignon was so mouthwatering delicious, as was the corn on the cob. I also had a sarsaparilla which was delish. They are famous for their hot fudge sundaes - they are so, so yummy!

Had a great celebratory dinner with the hubby. Our waitress was Connie and she was great.

This was our 1st time here and it was unlike anything we ever imagined. We knew the food would be great however I was kind of skeptical because of the bearing reviews on both Yelp and Google; nonetheless we gave it a shot. I have to start off by saying that we both thought we were going to be walking into a pretty fancy place even on a Sunday evening. We were pleasantly surprised are the exterior up close, the old style saloon feeling inside and the super basic setup. We appreciated this, in every aspect of it and next time we'll come prepared with a big permanent marker so that we can document our presents on the wall with many others. :-)

We both ordered a T-bone steak, medium-well, one with the baked potato, two salads, a bowl of ranch style beans and a basket of fresh garlic bread. Connie suggested dipping the garlic bread into the beans and guaranteed we'd love it. Sure enough, we did. Our steaks were cooked nearly well done versus medium well but were still full of flavor and rather tender. After we were done Connie convinced us to try their sundae topped with homemade cocoa fudge and again, she was right...to die for. Even the hubby ate half of it...mmmmm. So good. Kudos to whomever makes it! <3

Thanks Connie for your suggestions and great service. See you soon!

I don't even eat meat, but this place was too cool not to give it high marks. There's an outdoor grill area, and the staff are all looking like cowboys/cowgirls. It was awesome. We even hung out by the fireplace in the back room with a huge group of my family. Bring your kids, bring a large group, and you won't be disappointed.
