Can never go back to regular pork ribs ever again....
Can never go back to regular pork ribs ever again. Beef ribs are best!
Can never go back to regular pork ribs ever again. Beef ribs are best!
Best burger and ribs we have had in a long time. Cozy environment and wonderful staff. The whole experience was superb. Looking forward to trying a steak on my next visit.
Love the way the owners treat you like family go hoffmans
One of the Best Steakhouses in Tucson. Great food and a historical location. Was an Overland Stage Stop.
This is the second time I've been here in 3 or 4 years. Really disliked the BBQ sauce last time, but thought we'd try again. Steaks are claim to fame, so tried those. Come on you guys, very expensive ( $30 for a goodish filet, $17 for an okay top sirloin) and you get a small piece of meat alone on a giant plastic plate, a wilted weary salad of lettuce and a piece of onion smothered and soggy with dressing, a bowl of beans, salsa, a piece of garlic toast. Baked potato or corn is EXTRA. Really? Never again.
The building and setting are "the best" the food stinks and is way to expensive. Such a shame!
Great food, a little pricey for what it is.. But still great.
Service marginal, 125 dollars for 2 steaks. The live music was nice though. On the fence about returning.
Price vs quality, nope.
Atmosphere vs price, nope.
Customer service ok
Food was good. Very specific niche restaurant. But not mine unfortunately.
Good food at reasonable prices. A smaller menu at this time. But everything is good. The beef ribs are the best anywhere.
Steak done over an open fire..excellent. The margarita was perfect!
I stop in every time I'm in Tucson. Pork ribs are best I've ever had.
The ribs were very tender and the service was awesome. Our waitress had worked there many years and she was very attentive. The BBQ sauce wasn't that great and they only had the one. Would be nice to see more variety. A little expensive but we had a great time.
I NEVER order a steak at restaurants because I am usually disappointed. Visiting for my Daughter's wedding and stopped in because a chain was the other option. Killed a 32oz porterhouse before my wife got through a serloin. FANTASTIC!!!! Next trip, this will be my first stop for dinner. Probably a 2nd or 3rd depending on time.
Wonderful service, delicious food. Impressed friends from San Francisco. We enjoyed the evening. Thanks
Great place to visit but unfortunately it's not like it use to be.
Very disappointed in our visit last night. One of our steaks came out raw and they threw it back on the grill then it came out so done and tough. They did another steak and that was still to done I wanted it pink in the middle. Wasn't worth the $111.00 they wouldn't do anything about the bad steak I still had to pay for it and didn't even get to eat it. Probably won't be going back there. The customers service sucked.....
Waited an hour for our food. A 3 top and an 8 top that came in after us had their food before us. Salmon was under cooked and then it was charred when it was "fixed". The baked potato was good and so was the live music. Will not be returning, though.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere! And when you can smell the wonderful aroma of steaks cooking before you even walk in the door, you know you are in for a treat. Staff was very attentive and the food was AMAZING! The pork ribs melted in my mouth. I will definitely be back!
Great steak..fun atmosphere...nice people..loved the beans!
Good food, but a little pricey. Old western steakhouse vibe.
Overpriced, $100 for two people and the food is eh, I won't be going back. Kind of ghetto with writing (some inappropriate) on the walls.
Good steak, but very overpriced for what you get. It's a nice place to go 1 time, for the experience. The location has some historic significance, as a former stagecoach station, but there are better steakhouses in the Tucson area.
Great atmosphere and food. A bit pricey but worth every penny
The band needs to play in an are where people can dance.
Nice to have a steak cooked over wood. I got a rare steak. That means the internal temperature should be in the 120' F range. That's warmer than body temp of about 98', which means the steak shouldn't feel child. Mine was very cold on the inside.
Staff is very nice. Breans and bread are good. Pecan pie is good, too.
My parents went on their first date at this place in 1972 and my mom's family went here throughout the 50s and 60s. I recently dined here and the food was exceptional! Highly recommended!
I am a Tucson native. So old I was born at St Mary's Hospital. This place has been here forever. The steaks are always excellent and I have always been treated well. The beef ribs, if you try them, that will be it, if you like beef, the ribs will be all you will order from now on.
I read a one star rating on the ribs, what a joke. I read another where they said there is nothing for someone who does not eat meat. That's what I want....a steakhouse that doesn't serve meat. Lol try the beef ribs
I love this place. They have a small menu but everything is awesome! Love the ambience. My friends and I always have a good time here. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Food is good.. service is good.. you will surely have a good time here. And you must try the chocolate fudge. It s too good!
Great steak! Live music! Gigantic bowl of beans! What more could you want?
This is my favorite restaurant in the whole world. Everything tastes amazing. My favorite is the pork ribs. Can't go wrong with the two pound porterhouse that you can cut with your fork.
I have taken vacations in July to come eat here every day for a week. It doesn't get any better than this folks.
Staff is always super friendly. The prices , however, seem to be climbing. And with an a la carte menu that adds up quickly. No longer a weekly or biweekly treat. Now it's only a few times a year. Have always loved this place though. Hard to drive by and not stop when those aromas trickle into your car.
I recently went out to dinner here and it was my first visit, however, I do not think I will ever come back. Everyone ordered what was called a dinner salad, which was served in an extremely small bowl and lacked in flavor. We were also disappointed to find that the "Garlic Toast" was simply just white bread with butter. The service was not the best either, the waitress came to take our order and we did not see her again until the check was brought to us. This was extremely disappointing especially considering the high prices.
positive, excellent meat perfectly cooked, nice staff, nice atmosphere, right price.
The steaks were cooked perfect, mesquite flavor was evident, very tasty! Good service, absolutely recommend. I'd be a regular if i lived in Tucson!
We are new to Marana and had a great dinner. The 2lb steak was amazing! Service was great! My wife had the pork ribs and she loved them defiantly going back! Good job lil abners
Came to this predominantly white establishment and was told 10 to 15 minute wait. Wanted a relaxed meal. I am Hispanic and did not get a call for 40 minutes. I was apologize to as others came after me that were white and given tables and service. Honestly if you are a minority or a person of color not a good place to visit. I would recommend more culturally diverse establishments.
DELISH & GREAT SERVICE! MOSCOW MULE WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Food was tasty but overpriced .
Server had no boundaries.
A unique piece of history, combined with nice live music and darn good food! Steaks grilled over mesquite wood we're delicious and fixings were perfect too.
Service was nice, very casual. Food was good. Outdoor patio with a fantastic view. Large portions of sides.
Classic, Casual and a must do when you visit. Steaks are some of the best around and you will love the atmosphere. Great for large groups.
Beef ribs were good, beans sucked had no flavor, wasn't impressed at all.
Great food. I ordered the filet with corn. If service was a little more on the spot I'd give 5 stars. All the same though it wasn't bad service so between the semi high prices and delicious food I'm saying 4 out of 5. Hope that helps.
Such a fun place, been going here since I was a child and my Dad would get me Shirley Temples. Great steak and chicken, wonderful live music, relaxed atmosphere. A little spendy but it's such a great steak House, and the staff is awesome!
Took my grandmother hear for her birthday dinner. She is from Los Angeles area and has had many expensive dinners in her life time. She said that steak from Lil Abner's was the best steak she has ever had in her entire life time. I couldn't agree more. Staff were top notch as well.
Very intimate dinning. Great staff great food. Very good and welcoming environment.
Took co-worker that was in from out of town here for dinner. Good steaks and great Cherry Cobler!
Dirty looking dingy old bar type steakhouse.hostess seated us at a bench next to hall leading in to main room so we moved to better table.food horribably overpriced.wanted a steak but was not spending that much plus very few choices.ordered pork ribs that were cooked on oven without seasoning at all.Had to order backed potatoes extra for 4 dollars.Finner salad was not even fresh. Would not recommend this as a steakhouse to take s large party unless you had plenty of money.
Steaks and beans are fantastic. I felt like the price was a touch high, good place with great service nonetheless.
Atmosphere is laid back and cool. The pork ribs are amazing and the steaks are very good (a tad over cooked) all the sides and main menu items are all enough to keep you happy. Staff is very attentive and pleasant.
Man those beef ribs are tear off the bone tender!!!
tasty food, fun atmosphere, and overall just a very pleasant place to dine at!
Limited menu and beans served in lieu of vegetables. Most flavorful, tender and juicy steak I've had in a long time!
Best filet I've had. Sides are good, but the mesquite grilled steaks are the bomb.
I don't go here anymore, my favorite waitress gone. Bad management decision.
Just had a wonderful dinner on a Monday evening! We haven't been to Li'l Abner's for a couple of years and it was as good as we remember it.
My daughter had the 1lb porterhouse and she barely finished it. But she did. She let me taste it and it was juicy and flavorful, nicely seasoned. My wife had the salmon and it was done very much to her liking. They kind of poached it in aluminum foil in an olive oil and a ever so slightly spicy baste. She liked it so much she dipped her potato slices in it for extra flavor.
I had the baby back ribs which were fall off the bone delicious, along with a zesty barbeque sauce that complemented the smoky flavor of the ribs. Add the cowboy beans, Texas toast and baked potatoes rounded out a great meal.
Oh wait, I almost forgot an amazing hot fudge sundae with homemade fudge and a warm cherry cobbler topped by cold vanilla ice cream.
How do you spell delicious?
Highly recommend!
Absolutely LOVED this place! My Filet was cooked to perfection! Definitely going back for seconds, and thirds, and fourths....
Very good place, loved the atmosphere and food was WOW! The waiter was awesome, prompt and nice. My husband says "meat, meat, meat! Meat was YUMMY" the steaks we ordered came exactly the way we asked for, unlike most places.
Was here 30 years ago when it was in the middle of the desert and go back every time I travel to Arizona. Rustic old place with great food and excellent service. Will be back again.
This is a must do again. Steak and chicken was amazing. Really unique place to eat but I promise you will enjoy it.
Died and living and loving life in heaven. I don't want to ever leave .would highly recommend this to stop by and take it all in.
The place was very unique. And the food was great. Not sure how all the food is but everything that we ate was very good . We will definitely stop there again if we're over by there.
The steaks are deliciously amazing! Can't beat that good old mesquite grilled taste! But the prices are ridiculously high.
Awesome, chill palce for a steak amd a beer. Live music outside. Will definatly make this place a favorite. Steak was AWESOME.
One of the wosrt plates of rids I have ever had. Have lived in Tucson over 20 years this was the first time and the last time I will go here.
Atmosphere was fun! Service was slow and food was a bit pricey and not too spectacular.
It's simply the best steak you can find. Laid back atmosphere and friendly staff.
Amazing beef ribs. Amazing steaks. I make it a point to try to stop by anytime I'm in the area.
Excellent food, all of it... Go to place, when in Tucson.
Li'l Abner's Steakhouse is a legendary restaurant that has been serving Tucson, Arizona since 1947. This iconic steakhouse has become a staple in the community and is known for its delicious steaks, chicken, and ribs cooked over an open mesquite fire. The restaurant's rustic decor and friendly atmosphere make it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family or friends.
One of the things that sets Li'l Abner's Steakhouse apart from other restaurants is their commitment to using only the highest quality ingredients. All of their meats are sourced from local farms and are hand-cut daily to ensure freshness. They also use only fresh vegetables in their dishes, which are delivered daily from local farmers.
The menu at Li'l Abner's Steakhouse features a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. Their signature dish is, of course, their steaks which come in various cuts such as ribeye, sirloin, filet mignon and T-bone steak. Each steak is cooked to perfection over an open mesquite fire giving it a unique smoky flavor that cannot be replicated.
In addition to steaks, Li'l Abner's Steakhouse also offers chicken dishes such as grilled chicken breast or fried chicken tenders served with homemade gravy on top. For those who prefer pork ribs they have baby back ribs or spare ribs both slow-cooked until they fall off the bone.
The sides at Li'l Abner's Steakhouse are just as impressive as their main courses with options like baked potatoes loaded with butter and sour cream or sweet potato fries dusted with cinnamon sugar for those who want something sweet.
Li'l Abner's Steakhouse also offers catering services for events such as weddings or corporate events where guests can enjoy all of their favorite dishes in one place without having to worry about cooking themselves.
Overall if you're looking for great food served in a warm atmosphere then look no further than Li'l Abner's Steak House!
