Light House Cinema Review

Great selection of movies, themed seasons, friendly staff.

The entrance was a little hard to find but the cinema is spacious and modern, facilities were clean and up to date.

Really funky cinema and a lot bigger than expected. The sweet cakes were a little stale though.

Such a gorgeous gem of a cinema! The original decor, comfy couches and classy bar all merge to create a truly unique experience. Not to mention the Lighthouse cinema book-club, an innovative collaboration with Chapters Bookstore (one of Dublins finest bookshops) where a different book and film adaption are picked each month for discussion. The Lighthouse offers members 10% off their ticket to see that months movie and chapters offers 10% off the book. Brilliant idea and a wonderful environment to discuss movies and meet new people!

Fantastic cinema experience. So much more than just a movie.

I was there mainly because of the DIFF and I was pleasantly surprised to see how amazing the whole place was. I loved the cozy seating areas that were at the stairs with beanie bags. Of course, I was short of time but as far as I've seen it was all great!

The facilities were clean and tidy. I thought the segregated bin was terrific idea and environmentally responsible too. I loved that bottles of drinks were allowed inside the screens, which meant that less need for use of plastic cups, less trash, hence, better for the environment.

Staffs were helpful and friendly. I would definitely come back some other time.

Favourite cinema to go to. The staff are lovely the place is a delight to go to as there is not lots of kids running around. They do lovely food and snacks. The chairs in the cinemas are the most comfy I've ever sat on.

This is a very well designed cinema. The atmosphere is relaxed the design is spacious, the chairs in the theatre are really comfortable and the staff are friendly.

Good screens , awful unisex toilets. With the amount of unused space you could have built proper toilets

Excellent cinema, very intimate with comfortable seating etc. Convenient parking. Makes a great change from the typical multiplex cinemas in town.

Stoneybatter and Smithfield local cinema. Good screen, cool atmosphere surrounded by pubs and restaurants.

Great Venue. Not only for movies but conferences and events.

Great cinema. Shows all the newest films but also some great classics. Seen some great premier's here over the years like Made of Stone and Superonic and they really go all out

Very good service. Nice facilities. And they cater to a film-lover audience so every screening is comfortable and respectful. A rarity in cinema these days.

Reopen and better than ever; the lighthouse is the perfect counter point to the IFI -- sassy, vibrant and risk-takey, they crowd source ideas for programming and their movies flit between 80s pop culture gold, modern indie and the odd blockbuster. Look out for the odd gallery show there too

Best Cinema in Dublin, Seats you don't want to move out of. Big Screens and Brilliant Staff ! - This is a keeper.

Great film selection and a wonderful laid back atmosphere. Avoid the big crowds of loud jerks and come here if you actually appreciate films.

U can drink alcohol inside they have a good bar inside, a nice waiting room and the quality of the movies played is good.

It's a great cinema with a lovely vibe. It has a cafe and a bar so you can have coffee with cake or a drink before your film. The only issue is that it's not possible to book seats so you have to arrive early to ensure you get good seats and end up sitting on the first row.

Lovely cinema, with really nice interior design, comfy seats, good screen and sound. Cinema has a bar so you get to enjoy the movies with your favorite drink! Love the loads of different screening types. Last one being The Dark Knight 10 anniversary screening.

Went to see die hard with some friends over christmas. Most fun iv ever had in a cinema. You can even have a beer with your natchos

The place is massive! It was my first visit and it was lovely and the price is completely reasonable.

It's a great cinema. It has a very relaxed feel with places to sit and chat before or after the movie. It has a cafe where you can buy everything from popcorn to cheesecake. Good atmosphere and very central, just a short walk from the luas stop.

The Light House Cinema is a very good combo.

You can pick up your tickets (bought online) with a very friendly staff (or on automated machines if you don't want to talk to anyone :P ) at the lobby entrance, you can then relax before your movie at a nice cafe, and then go to your screen to enjoy the movie.

The screens are of nice size (Screen 4, which is one of the smallest is cosy enough), seats are very comfy and audio system is great.

Other customers are usually very respectful.

Great cinema. Does new fils and excellent old ones.

If ur going on a date to the cinema then this is the place. Cool chilled ambience and laid back staff that don't rush in to clean the moment the film is over so allows u to relax and unwind for few minutes longer.

My favourite cinema in Dublin. Comfortable spaces, excellent choices of movies, good beers and popcorn. Just magic!

Great cinema. Shows more than just the big blockbusters. Good little cafe, and a decent bar too. You're allowed bring drinks into the screenings which is good too! I just wish they had a better membership deal like Cineworld.

Comfortable seats and the popcorn is decent. I appreciate the parent and baby screenings on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

I've been here for a few events and for personal visits and have never had a bad experience. The staff are lovely, food and drink could be cheaper but that's standard cinema fare I suppose.

The choice of movies is always quite diverse and the screens themselves are good quality with good seating.
It's also in a good location, just off the LUAS Red Line.

Place is different from other cinemas. From the general layout, ambience to the concession stand (which serves alcoholic drinks). It's a cinema consisting of 4 or so screens underground. Sound is great, seats are comfortable, place is clean. Staff are also quite friendly and helpful. I love the benches they have along the stairs as well. They often do different events and do good work regarding the art of movies and cinema.

Nice cinema, I like that they show movie you don't get to see in other cinemas

Due to all of my recent trips to the cinema in recent weeks ruined by loud and boisterous patrons talking over every film, I am no longer coming to the cinema. We raised this issue with The Lighthouse and got an understanding response. But this cinema is not the classy joint I once fell in love and I do not recommend coming here for the later showings. Everything from arty films to the bog standard blockbusters are generally ruined by people who just get tanked and talk, a real shame!

Love this cinema. Its comfy and not expensive and in a cool location. We also park in the carpark in the complex so that's v handy. Staff are excellent and popcorn prices v reasonable. My only criticism is some of the showing times, but that comes down to the amount of screens v amount of items showing.

Sound system is good... Service at the restaurant is quick...

It's a wonderful place to visit. More than a cinema, more of an avent to be honest. And you can have a lite meal to take with you into the cinema as well as a drink all of which you purchase there. And you can join a very select of patrons by joining the club. For a nominal cost which when you receive your membership card. No matter if your working or are retired like myself. You actually have a reduction in your cinema tickets purchase and also in purchasing food and drinks you can build points. To lead you to other nice offers to come your way

I went to see "Priscilla Queen of the desert" in aid of relief for the fires in Australia with my Mum who has MS and is in her late 80's. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Restaurant has very healthy and tasty treats. Feels more like being in an art gallery than a cinema.

cant tell whether its all cinemas, or the lighthouse.. but the audio can be quite muffily at times 0-0 dunkirk was quite hard to understand... and just saw blade runner.. muffily audio at points... other than that its great :)

This is a great little cinema that has a lovely cafe/bar indoors before your movie and wonderful artsy surroundings.

The only downside is they don t always play box office films but it s nice that they offer the option of foreign films.

Cinema is very clean with comfortable chairs and is located in Smithfield which has plenty of food and drink nearby. There is also a car park right next door which the cinema will discount customers for.

One of the best venues in town! The coffee place has a lot of variety in foods and drinks . Their program is just amazing. Always with many choices good ones by the way. And the times are really good too. Recommended.

State of the art cinema. Really well designed and comfortable. Lovely coffee bar plus wine and beers to choose from. Handy parking also. Nicest cinema in Dublin by a long shot.
