We visited Library to attend a special dinner event and loved the vibe of the place. Not only was the food and entertainment for the dinner fantastic, but the club itself was chic, busy and well decorated, as well as offering excellent cocktails, live music and a really cool ambiance.

Very unprofessional staff and have been known not to pay and just ignore invoices with people they have worked with. Have chased them for months and they still haven't paid the full invoice. They are very dishonest and take advantage of people. The venue is really dirty as well, and I also organised a dinner there and everyone was disappointed by the food. If you're looking for a private members' club, I'd recommend The Hospital Club instead.

For a private member's bar the space and furnishings are really shabby and dusty. May not notice if they turn the lights down low enough, felt dirty though. So many better private member's places in central London. Would avoid this one.

Nice little private members club and hotel. It's less 'polished' than other private members clubs in London (like Soho House) and seems to be smaller. We visited for a gig, which attracted a large crowd. The performance space is quite small, and because the main room space is akin to a corridor, viewability isn't the best and is crammed, but the gig was great! Food looks like pub food, vibe is chilled.

Awful awful place- avoid!

Awful awful place- avoid!

For a private members club, you expect good service. Instead, in Library, you will wait longer than any busy Soho bar, try to order food or drinks that are all out of stock, ask for a drinks menu to be told no and have a guest relations manager completely ignore you.
Couple that with disgusting toilets, cold food (when you can get it), poor communication and every week new staff and you ve a recipe for disaster.
Leila in particular is dismissive and rude, as well as the French receptionist who should learn the English word for smile . Totally dismissive attitude to customers.
It s a good thing they have books, because the WiFi / 3G is non-existent.

I have never been to such a high class quirky joint as original as this. The Library and its staff are amazing, Shannon Lawes made such an effort to make our stay special. I would definitely recommend the Library for the professional service, the good and the cocktails.

Good dinner, excellent wine. Waitress was new so couldn't give recommendations. They could have invested in ad-free Spotify or tidal, it was a bit annoying to hear adverts over dinner.

A real garbage place. Appalling service, probably among the worst in London in terms of staff ignoring you and just not knowing the basics of looking after customers. The food is mediocre at best, and almost as overpriced as the drinks.

It's really saddening that what should be a cheap private members club makes you feel resentful and annoyed when you have to make obligatory visits, and feeling like you'd have been better off in the Chandos over the street.

In short - avoid this place, it's garbage.

I recently made a visit to the Library for a few evening drinks and nibbles and had a lovely experience sampling there new secret speakeasy bar, Dear Alice. Hidden away behind a wardrobe, we were brought into an whimsical saloon bar by a member of the Library team, Shannon L. I had the most sumptuous honey and gin based cocktail- do try the Bees Knees it was most definitely just that. The pizzettas were also lovely. A perfect evening all round, we will be back!

I attended an event 2 weeks ago; I myself didnt stay the night unfortunately but was given a wonderful look around the place by a very kind young Lady by the name of Shannon Lawes. She was very welcoming to me and the rest of the group, definitely a natural in what she does and showed a lot of passion in her work! The facilities looked great, food was delicious and the drink selection was A1. I would highly recommend Library to anyone. Thank you for having me and well done!

I m afraid I can t reconcile the good reviews I ve read as true and assume they must be fake as it s not the experience me or most other members I have talked to have had. Like most others here I signed up on a discounted social membership requiring 2 visits a month and a minimum spend of 10/time (with a free membership), that should offer excellent value for money and I really wanted to like the place (the idea is great) BUT unfortunately it s just turned into a monthly chore making sure I do the two required visits (and I ve given it a year). The drinks are way overpriced even for London and average at best their food (again average at best) is similarly overpriced 15 for a small pizza ). All this I can cope with but the one thing you want in a private members club is good service and it s totally useless here, staff pay little attention to customers, stop serving way before closing time mid week, and are generally completely useless (especially the food staff). I assume the staff get away with this as they know people like me are in as they have to be to fulfil their minimum monthly spend not because they want to be. I m lucky enough to be a member (or previously a member) of many other London clubs and all I can advise is don t make my mistake of thinking this a a good deal - it s absolutely not and you will regret it. If you want a private members club there are so many excellent ones out there that have great staff (h club, blacks, the court, soho house, alberts.....) please don t waste your time here you will get better food / drinks and much better service in any of the surrounding pubs. There is a reason this place doesn t sit in any of the best private members clubs lists you find on the internet and that s because it s way off the pace.

Decided to visit this haunt again after visiting about a year ago. Brought some university friends here for a reunion . Was welcomed brilliantly by a lady called Sarah (?) And she looked after us. Had a few drinks for the 40th bday and the staff are top drawer. Manager introduced himself & the host of a music- Silver?? Excellent, charming decor and recommender

From the moment we arrived we were looked after incredibly well from the visit to the club bar whist waiting for out table to the dinner, service and quality of food. Our table had been double booked and so we had quite a wait. However, we were kept informed constantly of the situation and all the staff could not have been more helpful it was actually a pleasure to have been kept waiting. I can highly recommend the vegan options at Saint Luke s Table. This place is well worth a visit we will be back.

I've been looking for a venue for Client Meetings and also for a big birthday party. A friend mentioned the Library thinking it would be perfect for both needs and I was put in touch with Emma. She was so helpful and informative. Having done a thorough tour, Emma went through all the membership options and also talked about the new club opening next door - sounds really exciting! A great introduction to a great club!

Celebrated my birthday at this beautiful spot and what an amazing evening it was. My friends still rave on about the lovely surroundings, the staff and the general atmosphere of the venue. Good music and good food.

If your are thinking of taking out membership at this private members club you will not be disappointed. The staff are very attentive and always make you feel welcome and there is always a good vibe anytime I have been there.

To date of my best birthday celebrations and a big thank you to Ronald for always being the perfect Host.

This is definitely a hidden gem in the centre of a very manic London.

It seems nice enough. I was there with a member for business meetings. Food was decent. Service attentive. Building charming. Air conditioning was more theoretical than anything, but this seems par for course in UK.

Do not join this club. It is the most frustrating place to be a member of.

I realise that they offer discounted memberships but the service would be unacceptable if you didn't have a membership. If I had to wait in a pub or restaurant for as long as I wait in the Library I would never go back - but since you are tied to a membership you have to. If you go in at the end of the month they ll tell you everyone does this and that s why it s busy , when you go in at the beginning of the month they often have events, making the club inaccessible to paying members.

If you like overpriced mediocre food, overpriced often incorrectly made drinks, rude staff, and constant issues with items being incorrectly charge then this is the place for you. If you actually like being treated well I suggest you try one of the many other local places that are much nicer.

Advoid at all costs! I ve had nothing but problems since joining this club from poor food to poor service. Took them forever to even get me my members card. They recently got shut down due to infestation that has put me off complelty ever eating there! Management don t care what so ever. Asked to not be a member anymore but all they Care about is money. They don t care about you as members only your money. Advoid

AVOID this shabby members club at all costs. If you have any issues with your membership they are less than useless at dealing with it and will hide behind their T&Cs. They have no understanding of contract law or even half-decent customer service; I ll be taking legal action. Terrible!

I recently checked out Dear Alice, the new speakeasy (great cocktails, particularly the Old Fashioned) and the revamped dinner menu at Saint Luke's Table. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and my party and I really loved every single thing we ate. I usually opt for quick bites when I visit the club, but I'll definitely be dining here again.

I will say that this is a pleasant enough place as a little members club to pop in from time to time for a drink and get out of the noise of the area. And the food's improved, the new pizza's really good. They also offer special More
