My family got bad mold (which we documented in our claim including photos) in the kitchen at our house. We discovered it on Saturday since a family member has severe asthma and I have bad allergies and we were having trouble breathing. We never had this breathing issue in our kitchen before. We were lucky to have a friend who pulled up tiles on the floor and after a few tiles he said the floor was wet and soft with mold. The source was the area of the refrigerator. Prior to this we recently accidentally dropped a large package of frozen hamburger meat on the granite tile which caused cracks we were hoping to fix and not have to deal with an insurance claim. Perhaps the refrigerator malfunctioned or something else was happening in the floor. First they had me dealing with one person. He said I needed to have a mold remediation place come over but he didn't have any recommendations for me. I called and had a mold remediation place come. When I got off the phone and set up the visit from the mold remediation company, they had me dealing with another person. Two days ago, the other person said he would have everything taken care of in my claim after he spoke with the mold remediation company. Yesterday he said he needs to know the source of the problem to see if I even have coverage for it. He said we need to hire a plumber at our expense (after repeatedly telling him there is no waterline connected to the fridge or in the area) and someone to move the fridge to see the source of the problem. Liberty Mutual doesn't want to address my claim and instead is simply sending a letter summarizing my conversation with them today via mail. When I called the adjusted today to discuss, he was as nasty as always and refused to honor the coverage for the cracked floor which insurance companies cover on homeowners insurance or the water/mold damage. On top of this, I can tell you from personal experience their auto insurance rates are always at least double what I currently pay. I found out how high their auto rates were when I switched. Every so often a Liberty Mutual salesperson offers to quote our auto coverage and they don't know what to say when I mention how high their rates are.

Absolutely horrible. I would give zero starts if possible. I will also be reporting them to BBB & the state of Massachusetts. I signed up with Liberty Mutual for auto insurance. About a month later I found a much better deal and decided to take my business elsewhere. Now they are trying to charge me outlandish fees for leaving. I will not be paying any fees. This is a sneaky slimy tactic. Do not waste your time on Liberty.

I've never made a claim for property stolen from m...

I've never made a claim for property stolen from my house (from inside my locked vehicle, in my driveway, actually) before, so I don't have anything to compare my experience to, but this company has been absolutely fantastic in handling my claim. My agent is great to talk with, so helpful, and seems genuinely to care about my claim and the fact that all my things were stolen---mostly tools, but also my personal laptop which was expensive. I can't say enough about this company. Their rates are low, even for a large policy like mine ($75,000 renter's) but they act like expensive insurance companies (my experience being for auto claims) when it's time to make a claim.

Funny commercials get you lousy customer service!

The humor in the commercials grabs your attention, then a pleasing sales force pulls you in, a standard marketing gimmick. After intake you are just another marble in the jar and nothing special. You will experience a stiff thick bureaucracy lacking creativity (not allowed) or pretend concern about your well-being often inept, and an arrogant impersonal lame corporate sense of customer service.

Liberty Mutual will yank your emotions during an emergency, make you cry, get you mad, and then you will get to experience their customer care and screw team!

Put in a claim on 5/15/17 and today is 6/22/17 and they haven't resolved a thing. Ive only got a few emails stating they're doing their "best". I wouldn't recommend liberty mutual to anyone. Shouldn't have switched back over from Geico. These people will make sure they get their end of the $$ every month and on time but when its time to pay out for something that wasn't even your fault, you'll get a bunch of emails. STAY AWAY.

The worst company has been with it for more than 8 years paying less than $90 for a premium policy (I have never used it, no accidents, no tickets, NOTHING), and recently just for the change of address they madly increased my policy to DOUBLE. They don't care about the customer and they don't care if you go to another company. Don't waste your time with them. They will increase their prices madly and the reason is meaningless.

Tory Brogie was a huge help in my insurance search. Some agents just send you a quote and you can't understand why one is more or less. Of course, I wanted to save, but not at the expense of not being covered for anything that could actually happen. Tory took the time to explain and help me tweak the quote to fit my needs and budget! Highly recommend

After over 35 years as a Liberty Mutual customer, I had my first car wreck. A giant pickup T-Boned my Buick Regal hitting me right in the driver's side door.
This is the point where you find out just how good your insurance company is. They have been awesome. From Jason Langlais, Customer Claims Rep, to Crystal Fields, Claims Representative, they work together like a well-oiled machine.
They kept me continuously on the progress on everything. It seemed like everyday I would get a phone call or e-mail from them. I really felt like their only customer. The best customer focused company I have ever dealt with.
Thank goodness I never responded to all of the other companies who promised me giant saving. As a matter of fact,a couple of years ago I challenged three of them to beat my Liberty Mutual rate and they couldn't do it.

My elderly parents had been Liberty Mutual custome...

My elderly parents had been Liberty Mutual customers for what seems like forever. They, like most seniors, continued to pay their renewals year after year regardless of rate increases , not wanting to or incapable of tediously shopping around for different insurance.

Last year my father died and I began going over my parent's finances. Upon reviewing their Liberty Mutual car and home insurance, I discovered a history of massive premium increases over the last several years. For starters, between 2010 and 2014 their auto insurance premium went from $1415 to $2011, an over 42% increase, despite no claims or tickets and no change in their vehicles.

Even more egregious are the home insurance increases. From 2001 to 2014 their home insurance premiums almost tripled, from $961 to $2831. And from just 2011 to 2014 alone, the premium increased from $1832 to $2831, an over 50% increase, despite no claims.

After discovering this, I asked for a quote from my insurance company, AAA. For home insurance, they quoted $1175, am almost 60% reduction despite identical coverage compared to Liberty Mutual. Even more surprising was the auto insurance quote of $669, a whopping 67% reduction despite a tripling of the amount of insurance coverage, to $300K.

It's quite telling that the combined car and home premium from AAA is far less than just the car premium from Liberty Mutual, with substantially more coverage. Which should serve notice to adult children that they should review their parent's property insurance like I did and see if their long-standing insurance company, like Liberty Mutual, is ripping them off. Which is exactly what Liberty Mutual did to my parents in gratitude for years of customer loyalty. And by taking advantage of seniors' reluctance to make major financial changes in their lives, Liberty Mutual is seemingly able to make massive premium increases without impedance.

The claims department excels at deceptive/unfair claim practices. I can't even get a claim adjuster to inspect my hail damaged roof. Nevertheless, I received 2 letters stating that my roof was undamaged. Randall Mcqueen was the adjuster. Beware if he is assigned to your claim. Once my roof is repaired I plan on using a different carrier for my home & auto insurance.

Honestly, I wish I could give this company "zero" stars. Giving us the run around now as we speak. Wait for the shock audits. They know more about your company than you do and they will send you triple the bill after you're quoted. Good luck.

I had a washing machine break and it flooded my floors. I contacted Liberty and they got someone out right away for water extraction. Then my nightmare began. They basically denied much of my claim and paid me pennies for the work that needed to be done. They delayed answering my calls for weeks and now 6 MONTHS after the accident I am still waiting for the rest of what they say they are paying me. They do NOT stand with YOU. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I have been insured by Liberty Mutual for 5+ years...

I have been insured by Liberty Mutual for 5+ years. After moving from Florida and purchasing a house that my former insurance company could not insure I changed to LM. Recently due to life changes I've been looking for lower cost insurance and enrolled in a new policy for 75% less than LM is charging. I called LM to cancel coverage on my vehicle and asked that they stop drafting money from my bank account every month.

The agent I spoke to after several brief holds informed me that the company would not stop taking money from my account and would not stop making me liable for the policy.

The supervisor then proceeded to give me the same information. Not only is it ridiculous that I saved 75% by switching to a competitor, it's simply illegal for LM to continue charging me and making me liable for a debt for a service I no longer want or need. Avoid this company like CoViD19!

The worst company you can insure your car with!!! They will retaliate. I have phone recordings I will upload them soon. The claims department never returns calls and as soon as you mention, that you're switching insurance, they will pop up with some random fees and will retaliate. It's so unprofessional. I am disgusted by this company, I will make sure to continue to write on every post, to make sure no one goes through the same experience as I. My lawyer advised, not to insure my car with them and I thought they were better. Shame.

I posted the same on their fans page, they deleted all my comments. Why because they are hiding!!! Worst company!!

I was paying $6,000 a year because of an accident that wasn't caused by me - I just switched to Allstate I am now paying $3,000 less. Please don't make the same mistake. Listen!!!

If you're still insuring your car(s) with Liberty, and you live in Massachusetts... you are paying at least DOUBLE, if you have a good track record. I decided to shop after poor management of my claim, and discovered GEICO to be about %50 cheaper. After that I ended up with Travelers' and paying ja third of what LM wants to charge me! NO DIFFERENCE IN COVERAGE ! ! ! ! Literally $3000/year VS. $1000/year for multi car policy. Happy shopping.

Dear Readers -
I learned a hard lesson recently when I switched our homeowners and auto insurance to Liberty Mutual...saving money isn't always worth it when a business doesn't care about its customers. That is the case with Liberty Mutual. In short, they didn't notify our state motor vehicle department that we switched insurance and its resulted in a lot of phone calls, paperwork, faxes and scrambling to avoid fines. I like to avoid dealing with motor vehicle as much as possible because it never takes just one call, or one fax. This has been ongoing for a month now with multiple calls, multiple faxes....THANKS, Liberty Mutual.

When I have called them, what they like to do is pass you around to 3 different people so you have to explain what you need 3 different times. Also reps don't tell you that they are transferring you, just put you on hold and you find yourself in a new queue. I find that to to be really poor customer service because its like the rep just wanted to dump you off on someone else. Calls end up being almost an hour when they treat their customers this way.

They aren't very helpful when you call, they don't own their mistake and they don't appreciate their customers. I don't want to spend money with a company that doesn't value my business, so we will be switching to a company that actually cares about its customers.

I was a former customer of Liberty Mutual, but stopped because the service was horrible. I had one of their larger agencies within walking distance from my home, but had to go there to get responses to my phone calls! They would not call me back, even though I was calling to renew my insurance! Hard to believe! I finally ended up calling their 800 number and speaking to a very nice lady who was flabbergasted that my agent wouldn't call me back to renew my insurance. And, no, I had never put in a claim for anything, and had home, liability and auto with them. But I changed years ago out of frustration with them. AND, I cannot conclude this review without a comment about their incredible inane commercials! I cannot imagine a more annoyingly useless set of commercials and a more unimaginative "theme song" than what is presented in their commercials. Their commercials are on day and night and relentlessly. I've got a suggestion - how about saving the hundreds of millions of dollars on your incredibly stupid commercials and lower your premiums, improve your insurance, and hire staff at the agencies that know what a real day of work is.

Hello, I used to be Liberty Mutual employee that started working there in 2010 and was terminated in 2020 due to being out of work on disability. I got many awards and promotions while working at Liberty Mutual. At the time of termination in June of 2020 the company refused to give me my severance package that I earned over the years. They say that because I was not an active employee I do not get the severance package. I am disabled and unable to work a full-time job. I've been to many doctors/specialists, I have had many different types of treatments to attempt being able to work again and I have paid a lot of money out of pocket through this entire process trying to get back to a full-time job and it is not possible. Liberty Mutual to me is discriminating against me due to my health and disability. I have no choice in a matter of my current condition and the money I earned is being kept from me. I have emailed many many different people as it went through the process attempting to get my severance package earned and I have asked multiple Liberty Mutual employees where my severance package is, who gets it? Not one person respectfully answered where it is. I earned it, I really need it, and I want it. I feel as though they have stolen from me. Who would think that a big corporate company would do this to a person?

I used the app but it told me I needed to call and talk to a customer service rep. Come to find out the company closes at 5 pm ET. Im in California so that's 2 pm for me. I had to leave my new car at the lot and take a Uber home because I traded in my old one. Had to uber to work the next day and then uber to the car lot to FINALLY get my car... Worse experience EVER IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD***

Can I give this company zero stars? We had a grueling experience with Liberty Mutual. Our car was totaled through no fault of our own. The guilty party was insured by Liberty Mutual. They low-balled us on the value of our car and nickel and dimed us along the way. The claims person we were assigned was flippant through the process and often difficult to communicate with. I cannot express how disappointed we are with our experience.

I have been a LM auto insurance customer for over ...

I have been a LM auto insurance customer for over 30 years. I've always paid my premium on time and have had only 2 minor claims in >30 years I was suspicious as myLM premium kept going up--even though my car is 8 years old and clearly is not worth much.

I went to GEICO, and their premium for the identical coverage for my vehicle was 60% less! ($400 at GEICO vs. $1050 at Liberty). Plus GEICO has a vastly superior website, app features, technology tools etc.

I'm very happy with GEICO so far. Sorry, Liberty--your pricing is outrageous.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AS AN EMPLOYEE AT ALL COSTS - I have worked for a few larger corporation over the years, but never have I worked with a company that run new ads all the time knowing the new team they bring in 3/4 will quit at least 2 weeks after they are out of training. They expect people not to stay. That is why you are always seeing ads. My Call Center staff in New Castle everyone was caring. However they can only do so much without HR in Boston's approval. This is where your life becomes a nightmare. If and I mean IF you are asking something simple they may be sweet as pie. You question them on things they are asking for..they go from angels to you are annoying them and how dare you question. If they dodge a question, several times but answer some. I found its because they were right, but if they feel they arent, they wont respond no matter how many times you ask. Make sure you check the LMI employee handbook first and note the page, issue date of the page (down at the bottom) and read the whole section. Make note of where it is in case you are at home and cant access it.

If there are conflictions between what you are told and the manual, along with them avoiding the question. There is a reason. A good one. So....you search for the answer to your question. And I mean DIG, search laws, possible prior issues, everything court cases, State and Federal. EVERY THING. Then you might find why they wouldnt answer. And keep asking questions. MAKE sure you get written responses. Especially if they insist on "just a call", you need to be proactive as I found they dont like recapping calls. I do it as a matter of making sure after we talked I understood what we discussed and what was required of me, and them. DONT stop. Best quote I ever heard. "Believe nothing you read, Believe nothing you hear said, even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and good common sense" - one other thing my mentor told me DOCUMENT DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT. You can argue a verbal conversation but you cant argue with paper. There is a reason they stress good pay and benefits. They want new blood because they expect most will leave. Which is really sad. Its more expensive to train new people than it is to invest in the ones you have. Other than the New Castle staff who are wonderful I WILL NEVER EVER WORK FOR LMI AGAIN. I have never said that about any employer ever.

since we have lived in Missouri and had this insurance company the rate is very high however we have had multiple times ran out of gas on freeway and gas people show up to save us. We have also multiple times Broken down and needed towing. However it's been snowing and times it takes 3, 4 5,6 hours to show up to tow us we have had to wait long periods of time. Today tow was there 30 minutes. Best time ever. Good thing never been completely stranded and only time when needing gas we have to pay our of pocket for the gas the drive brings us gas paid for under insurance. We have gotten out money's worth from our monthly bill that's for sure. Timing most of the time take forever to show up with tow truck except today

Absolute worst! if you get in an accident with someone with Liberty Mutual Insurance just get an attorney. Save yourself time and grief and insults and no returned phone calls.
Kay Gavison and Felicia Lee in Arizona claims department are non existent. I finally had Felicia Lee call me back after 4 messages. She said she couldn't help the long wait on hold, couldn't answer any of my questions because i wasn't the person who had the account, when i informed her the account holder was in my office she refused to talk to her and told me i had to speak with the adjuster, whom she could not get on the phone. Going on 10 weeks. Their client admitted to the accident and they are offering 85% of the value of the car less salvage value.

Horrible! I got injured at my job and my claim was denied! They're agents are rude and unprofessional. These people lie thru their teeth! They Make up any lie just to deny your claim! They also state that doctor's papers say something different than what they really do! They manipulate every doctor's note and proof of your injury to their advantage. Get ready to lawyer up!

Would give 0 stars if available. 1st year had a small accident insurance went up. There commercials are full of lies! Second year started a homeowners claim but didn't finish it they raised my premium over $200. Again just opposite of what commercial says. They can piss off! I'm looking for a new company that doesn't lie!

Had a claim with them because one of their insured customers caused damage to my property. They fought me for a week over $20 dollars. Is your reputation really worth 20bucks? I know their employee spent more than an hour of their time shorting me $20. I vow to never in my life ever have a policy with this company!!!

liberty Mutual Insurance (Home) does not payout on claims!!! Try filing a claim and receive a payment for your damages! This could be after a Storm or any damage done to your property. The ADJUSTER will try every trick in the book not to make a payment! The Adjuster is trained to deny claims & there is also also a bonus package tied in to is salary so the less payouts the better it is for them!
They will offer you plenty of discounts to entice you to signup for there policy, knowing very well that they would never do any payout. IT'S A SCAM.... I also read that there Profits is based very high on how many claims they deny.
our experience was horrible & would like to urge people to stay clear of this company.

Google doesn't have a lower rating, unfortunately. Talk about a sketchy company. I obtained an online quote. Although I've moved three states away, I kept my phone number from the old location. 10 minutes after I received the quote, I received a mysterious call from my old location (same area code). It was a Liberty Mutual rep. Well, this wasn't Liberty Mutual from my area code, because I'd given them my actual address in the quote request. Liberty Mutual spoofed the number to increase the chance I'd pick up the phone.

That's what scammers do. If this insurance company starts its relationships with prospective customers by lying to them, imagine what they'll do when we file a claim.

Nope, I don't give money to scam companies.

Liberty Mutual is not a good company to go with my first week with them they made me negative out my account because they took out money when they wasn't suppose to, I had to wait over two weeks an going back and forth with three different people every week to see when my money was going back into my account last minute they end up tell me they was just going mail me a check. After complain so much they agree to pay my over draft fees to my bank because they took money when they wasn't suppose to leave me -460 in my account lucky i check my bank every day and if I didn't check my bank I would have never knew they took out money. I switch to liberty mutual because they said they can lower my rates on my new car I just bought was told on quote and after sign up they quote went up. I learn my lesson and should have stay at my old insurance company where i never had any problems and I am going back to my old insurance company

I was a loyal customer of Liberty Mutual for many years. I left Liberty Mutual because they raised prices. After I left a few weeks later. I received a letter from Liberty Mutual starting that I owe $38 dollars. So, the next thing that happened was a rude and obnoxious woman whose name is Christine Robinett , working as a Sr. Customer Advocate II for Liberty Mutual, called me and said things I would never put into writing. She was belittling and humiliating over $38 dollars.

Horrible company, they were supposed to call me about an accident but never did. Even after I called them multiple times. Still driving around with a damaged vehicle after over 10 months. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Will never recommend this insurance company .

one day I got an call from lawn mower told me the mower got stuck between my retaining wall and the lawn, while he was trying to get the mower out, the retaining wall fell. According to my police, Liberty Mutual should pay for fixing my wall because of this accident. After my claim, the inspector told me that my case was not covered, and said my wall fell because of aging so they wont be responsible for it, and ignored the information I have shared with them that the lawn mower guy shared with me. when I asked, the guy from Liberty Mutual told me he has not even talked with the lawn mower before he made this conclusion. After I insisted he should talk to the mower guy, they come back told me and mower guy denied he was involved in the accident at all, while the same guy apologized multiple times for knocking my wall off. I am not sure what happened during the conversation, but clearly they were able to influence the mower so they dont need to pay for the wall

Refused to place a new roof on house and had to pay for repairs Called customer service to discuss and passed along to four employees before someone took ownership - STAY CLEAR of this company and don t use !
