Contacted LG today about a Nexus 5x phone stuck in a bootloop apparently there is a Settled Class Action Lawsuit to fix this issue , I was told to send my phone in for repair it was covered , then I received a email after they received to phone to say it wasn't covered and it would be $450.00 to fix it or 40.00 dollars to get it back I was not very happen and will never buy an LG product again

After attempting to book a service call for days for our LG gas oven, we were finally successful and received an email advising we would be contacted by a local appliance repair company. Turns out they aren't authorized to service gas appliances, so I had to contact LG yet again. Finally found someone to place a service call and was talked into purchasing the "flat rate" repair service. Despite the fact we received a confirmation of this, the technician advised they had received the call from LG as a "COD" visit and wanted an additional $472 to repair my oven. A freaking nightmare.

I bought LG TV from Costco early this year. Just found out there is screen bulging in the centre of he screen. I thought it would be easy warranty repair. called LG, and the rep from LG kept saying it's impossible for LG to make TV with flaw because they go through multiple inspections. this guy was being sarcastic, and very argumentative. How do you expect anyone to purposely bulge TV screen, 64 inches? what is 1 year warranty for if they don't do anything about it? Horrible product with disgusting customer service, and yet garbage warrant that you can not even use.

I fully agree that LG has PATHETICALLY awful customer service. The service reps that answer phones lie and mislead even though my fridge was under warranty and that was just to get a service call.
1 - First they tell me they could not book a service appointment because they said they did not have the contractor schedule for the following week, I was told to call back that Friday.
2 On the Friday, on the direction of the service rep, I had to call their contractor to book an appointment and then call the customer service rep back to give them the date. They then tell me because I went outside their rules they would not cover me under their LG plan although they directed me to so.
3 - After jumping through all their hoops and getting things straightened out, the service rep books me with a company technician. Why did they not do this to begin with? This LG service gentleman was the only decent person I got some information from at this time and put in for a replacement fridge which would most likely be prorated. No problem I can work with that.
4 - The LG warranty prorate department finally calls my house after specifically being asked to call my cell about a week later and she spoke so fast with the phone number on the answering machine that I could not understand her. I had to track that down.
5 - I finally spoke to someone in that department who was reasonable and says an email has been sent to me which I did not get because the spelt my name wrong which is all over my account. I am informed at this time they need the model serial plate to process the warranty and it was a new company policy which they don t tell any customers. This is almost 4 weeks later and foolish me bought another LG fridge because I had nowhere to put food for my family and I thought this nightmare would finally get resolved. Leon's who had great customer service delivered my new fridge and made arrangements to dispose the old fridge as I did not a place to store it.
6 - I finally get the email and I am told no plate, no warranty. I am now looking for a senior manager for resolve before I begin the next step. The little guy needs to stand up for themselves and not let the corporate giants railroad them. The above is just an overview of the full version which is much worse

At this point the best I can suggest to anyone in the public is to stay far away from any LG products as you can as you may regret it as I have.

LG sucks. Horrible customer service. Washing machine broke down within 5 years. No warranty on parts or service. Can only buy parts from one distributor and it takes 5 weeks. Even when they have the part I need in the states they say they won't ship to Canada. Never buying LG again.

Our LG Fridge broke down after 2 years with a compressor issue. The compressor takes 1 month to deliver and our fridge is still not working.
We made use of the LG OnePrice $249 to take care of the repairs. The process has not been pain free or stress free as advertised.

Our fridge has been broken for TWO months. LG will not do anything to speed up the process. They make the process complicated and convoluted to delay repairs and confuse customers.
We are always told different things by different service agents. There is no consistency in the company and nothing being done about having our fridge repaired or compensated.

We are still waiting on our fridge to be serviced. How long is too long without a fridge?

PLEASE DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!! I don t even know where to begin. This is the second LG refrigerator I bought to replace the first one that could never be fixed properly. I splurged on a 3-door French Door with an ice maker and water in the door. It was purchased in 2009 and had problems right away. Within the first few months, the gaskets on the French doors ripped. I had a private company come out to fix them. When the company indicated to me that I might want to inform LG directly of my problem, I did. A lengthy, almost year-long process ensued. To this day, I have a 3-door French Door refrigerator that does not work properly. The ice maker flap in the door does not close, causing the ice to melt. It has permanently damaged my hardwood flooring. The gaskets have been replaced no less than three times and they still tear. LG customer service representatives, Garrett and Kuzi Mapish have told me that they will no longer pay to service the refrigerator and unless I pay for another service call, they will not pro-rate a new refrigerator. How sad and disappointing that I feel as though they lied to me and promised a pro-rate that they never followed through with. I truly hope this makes you think twice before buying an LG French door refrigerator. I have lost all confidence in this manufacturer s ability to provide customer service. Their representatives can easily quote ridiculous policies that they must follow but they have absolutely no sense of a customer s frustration over spending $2500 on a refrigerator that has NEVER worked properly.

But whole process took a lot of perseverance from my side to get lg to issue a warranty repair. In turn LG electronics are decent, but the customer service needs to be renovated.

Well I just had the best experience with a service call with Chris from LG Electronics. I was skeptical at first about the online payment up front thing, but he made up for everything. He fixed my dryer by removing the obstacle I had in the drum and then went far and beyond by checking the whole dryer inside, checking the air flow and resetting the whole unit to ensure I didn't get the d80 error all the time. He was knowledgeable, kind, very respectful and just a really nice person to chat with. Very happy with the whole outcome.

Worst customer service ever. Microwave having issues. Customer service just keeps telling me to unplug it for 20 minutes then plug back in. doesn't help. Then they say another level support person will call and they never do. Avoid LG at all cost if you want any support.

Got a brand new LG G5 which is not even 2 months old and having issues receiving text messages. Contacted LG and they advised me to send my device to Futuretel (they do most mobile warranty repairs) and Futuretel lost my device. LG stalled for over a week about replacing my lost device. First they tried blaming me for sending to the wrong address, then they blamed the shipping company for delivering to the wrong address, now they're blaming Futuretel and not giving me any timelines or answers about when I can expect to have my phone returned to me or replaced. Spoke to about 10 CSRs now and they all do the same thing (blame me, then the shipping company, then futuretel). Spoke to a Supervisor who was completely useless. Basically gave me attitude and was telling me I'd just have to wait and let Futuretel try and find the phone for up to 10 more business days, when it's already been 5 and Futuretel has looked for my device 4 separate times.

Here is probably the most ridiculous part about the whole situation, when you're speaking to any CSR and if you ask to speak to a supervisor (Which LG advertises on their website as a customer right) you will be left on hold for about 20 minutes then the CSR will come back and tell you they're all too busy and someone will call you the next day.....but that call never comes.

Bottom line, most LG devices are affected by this messaging issue when running nougat and LG can't help you because they don't have a solution. They will look at the device and return it as is. The customer service is worthless and will really only waste your time.

UPDATE: So it gets even better, after losing my device I get a call from a customer service supervisor who claims my brand new device that I sent in for warranty repair was found but has already been repaired and because of this the warranty is now void. So Futuretel/LG lost my phone then found it, apparently, but are trying to get out of a warranty repair situation because there is no fix for the issue. I've opened a BBB case about this.

I know there's some defects. called customer service, open ticket, be notified 3-5 days someone will contact you. while of cause nothing happened, call again and again, again. on day 7, an agent named Marial said, thank you for your patience, please wait 3-5 days... WHAT all over again! Terrible!!! How long we actually need to get it fix!!!

Made it clear to LG customer service that I have a disability that affects my ability to communicate. Received single sentence responses, 1 was a phone number and the other was a website link, neither of which provided me with the information I needed. I am now out $200 because my disability wasn't accommodated and they are blatantly refusing to help me because it's now "past the claim time frame". The first 2 emails I sent were well within the claims time frame and didn't provide me with any pertinent information. They are exclusive of disabled people and it's disgusting. Avoid LG at all costs.

I can never shop or endorse LG again. First off, their TV broke in less than 2 years and their customer service call center was a complete waste of time. After 10+ calls and collectively around 3 hours on hold over the last 2 months, no resolution was offered. I am now in the market for a new TV and LG will undoubtedly never get my business again.

I bought a LG Washing Machine and Dryer from the Brick in Heartland Mississauga in June 2019.The appliances were delivered by the Brick.The installation from the Brick was all substandard and the washing machine was leaking at the back. While they installed the machine the day 1 itself the machine didn`t work. They tried to switch on the power went off after 10 minutes. When we call Brick they are telling that we are under warranty from LG and when we call LG they they wanted to send technician to look at the machine. They could give appointment for technician after several days. We took off and was waiting at home and no one shows up toll noon. We call them and they said that the technician was sick so no technician was coming that day to look at the machine. They didn`t have any courtesy to call and let us know that technician wont be coming to check the machine. After many days we got appointment again and technician found several issues. He replaced some part worth $ 200 and said that whole wiring needs to be redone and the machine had major issues. When we was diagnosing whole machine was making so much noise and moving abruptly that they had to switch off immediately. When the technician came as it is stackable machine he needed our help to lift dryer down so he can check the machine. Technician found that the way the Brick people assembled was faulty. He took videos of it to report that the assembly was not done properly. Then the LG Washing Machine had PF Power Failure error code.LG sent ARS subcontractor company to look at the machine.The technician found too many problems with the Machine.I have called LG soo many times. They said that the product was DEAD AT DELIVERY that means Brick must have replaced with new machine within 1 week. We went and talked to the manager he kept denying that they could replace even though it was Dead at delivery washing machine. Said that that if technician says that there is major issue then they would process return authorization then they would refund the money.
We had few times technician come over trying to fix it. It goes to Phillipines call Center.I asked them to either replace or give me my refund.They keep giving me the run around and wasting soo much time on the phone.It is now 3 weeks and they have not resolved the problem.Then they say they will process the Refund Authorization.I wait for a few days and call back.Then the Call Center says they person who said that they will try to process the refund authorization is no longer with the organization and left. Then again back to square one where LG says they will send a technician.Total waste of time and defective products.I will never buy an LG Product again.

Worked great, until suddenly it didn't work at all.
My expectation is that solid state electronics costing about $1500 would last at least 10 years. Apparently LG does not share or support that expectation. A call to support left me empty handed other than direction to a repair center. Fair enough LG, but if you are going to ship what I consider to be shoddy product and not cover the cost to support it when it fails, I'll take all of my future purchases elsewhere.

Very incompetent Service Technician was sent to our house from Brampton area Mehul Vyas. First of all he entered the house with his dirty shoes. And when asked any question relating the product he kept saying it happens with everyone. LG needs to hire some customer Service oriented, well English speaking Service Technician who really has some product Knowledge. He made a live call with some one in CS department showing the product and on the other side the the person who was talking simply said its usage issue. Problem was not solved instead they blamed us. its not even a year we bought a Cooking range and we had issue with discoloration and this is the service we got. Which made us very upset. I was really Impressed with LG CSR previously and now because of the bad service from the Brampton Service Team I am really disappointed.

You have not done your homework before you have replied.Our main issue again was of the grills over the burners which are discoloured. the burner issue was secondary. Based on your reply /action, I will then decide whether to educate new customers by putting my reviews on whatever social media available, whether they should go for similar gas ranges and face a situation like me.

A lady there named Tatiana claims herself to be the head of LG customer service, she s dishonest with terrible customer service skills. Like everyone else I would also give them zero stars. Our experience with LG started when our washer broke down and we called for service. LG sent a technician who misdiagnosed the issue and performed unnecessary repairs. After he left we started the washer to do a load but it started leaking badly, different codes displayed and the washer shut down. We called them again, three days later the same technician came and gave us another diagnosis (two other parts needed to be replaced).
We did not want the repair we just asked him to refund the money from the previous repair. After speaking with his supervisor he said it would be no problem and we would get the refund in 5-10 business days. Now one month later and several calls with LG customer service we did not get our refund and were finally told that they will not refund any money. We just bought a new washer (this time Samsung) and we are very happy with it. No LG in our house any more. Thanks LG

Bought fridge,stove,microwave and dishwasher 4 years ago. Fridge went 3 weeks ago. Service tech only come to Windsor on Tues and Fridays. Waited till Friday for him to say the compressor needs to be replaced. It's covered but labour to the tune of $612 is not. Said i would call LG as this seems too high.LG says they have no control over the labour. i say they do since this is the only company that will do the work.Several phone calls later i was offered the flat rate of $249. Which after a few phone calls back to LG found out the person made a mistake its not offered in my area.They switched me over to someone in Quebec who couldn't find a repairman in my area and offered me $200 off to go and buy a new fridge. Really replace a 4 year old fridge? Found out there is a class action lawsuit in the US over these compressors. The tech told me LG has a new compressor now that they put in that is different then the old one.Since then this has been sent to the executive team to address. Was told last week i would get a call by 7pm on Wed. Didn't get the call. Called back again Thurs where they said they should have said within 2 to 3 days . Really? Have called so many times i can't keep track. Finally they say there is no one that can come out till June as they are all booked up and the executive will look at my case. Have received 2 phone calls now about my dishwasher. Where did that come from? Something about a pro rate. I called back and they told me some recalculations need to be done for something , i don't know what. It is now Mon April 13 and $250 worth of lost food using coolers and waiting for a phone call still. What kind of service is this? Going on 3 weeks. Do they have they many problems with their products it takes this long to resolve?

Purchased a brand new LG high end electric range LDE4413ST.on 13th July 2018. Received the product in a slightly cracked mode, They said they will not cover physical damage. so, I paid reluctantly and fixed the physical damage . Next. upon thorough checking, the Right side burners would not switch on. It will only switch on when the left burner is switched on. this unit has some serious Electrical problem which is SAFETY HAZARD, Then we switched on the oven, after 20 minutes. the door handles and the knob panel are extremely hot. I burnt my fingers after touching them.
Called LG warranty service immediately on July 26,2018 , they are Yet to send a technician to fix the problem. This has been over a week an di have eating outside for the past one week.

LG and FutureTel need to fix their approval processes and ensure that customers don't have to wait months for repair. Both companies have poor customer service, repair service and LG does not behind their product warranty.

I must be the silent majority but we had no problems with service when one of the led lights went out in our fridge a few months ago. After a 10 minute call, a tech visited us on site the next day. The led array was replaced and they extended our warranty by another 90 days. Not a single issue since. Horrible experience with LG customer service. I had an issue with a LG TV a few months ago which was shipped it back to LG for either repair, replace or refund. The TV was only a few weeks old. LG was not communicating, every time I called customer service, i was given a different story. Send multiple emails to upper management without any one getting back to me. My credit card company was able to resolve this problem.

Had my phone shipped for repairs, it got there Oct 13 - I called Oct 31st to follow up on this service, and my phone had magically disappeared. I had to do all the dirty work on my end to figure out who signed for my phone otherwise Customer Support was simply telling me I was out of luck. ThenI was told it was found but I was going to have to continue to wait with no compensation. I have been a loyal LG customer in the past - but I will never ever buy LG again after this experience. As many people have mentioned, customer service is HORRIBLE!!! I need a new battery for my LG G4 and all they can say is that because it is refurbished, they cannot help me. I have had nothing but problems with 3 LG phones that I have had within a six month period. When I asked to speak to a manager the customer service agent told me that there is no manager available. Then I said that I am not happy with the service that I am receiving, the agent just responded by asking me if there was anything else he could help me with. As if to brush off my problem. I had a 4 year old top of the line refrigerator that stopped working. I paid the one time fee that was to cover all repairs necessary no matter what the issue was. LG service came out 2x and couldn't fix it. I asked for an independent service company to come out as the LG service tech really didn't to know what he was doing. The independent seemed much better but also was unsuccessful at fixing it. He suggested he would report the situation to LG and they would reimburse some money towards a new unit. Seemed reasonable and we purchased a new unit. I never received any money back including no return of the one time service fee. Calling them is definitely a waste of time and a complete run around. Honestly you should stop making promises that you don't deliver on !

Would give service 0 if I could. Fridge compressor needs replacing after 5 years. Only service company I can use per LG custome service quotes me $540 for one hour labour and makes me pay up front. When I complain to LG they tell me I should have paid them a $280 flat rate for the same company to do the job, but they cannot help me get my money back from their service company. The option they provided is pay us $280, and reschedule the fridge repair (who can live without a fridge?) for an unspecified data and forgo the $270 deposit, or repair the fridge for $540. How is that a solution?

Horrible customer service that just gives you the run around. Their parts are as cheap as they are put together. $1100 tv lasted me 8 months before I lost all picture to a black screen. customer service stated they only cover parts, not labor and the labor was HALF THE PRICE OF THE TV! I paid $800 for a surround sound. After noticing one of the 2 speakers in the center channel unit wasn't working i opened it up, only to find it was put together with a dud speaker. No wires leading to it and no wires even on the speaker itself, just thrown together and glued shut. Lg customer service gives me a phone number to a place for it to be repaired at FULL COST TO ME! I will never buy another LG product for as long as i live and i will try my best to stop anyone i know who's thinking about purchasing from them aswell

We used to buy LG products all the time. But Life sucks when it comes to service.

Bought an expensive fridge from LG. It stopped cooling just after extended warranty. But compressor was still under warranty . So paid LG a fixed price to send a technician to fix it. The date I got was after 2 weeks in July. Do you only have one technician servicing whole GTA?? This is ridiculous? Imagine living without a fridge for 2 weeks in summer .

To add insult to injury, waited for 1 week. They left a message in my voice mail saying that the service call was cancelled because technician is sick. No email notification . No call back or no re-scheduling. Just took the money from me and cancelled the call without any notice. I have already paid . So had to reschedule to another date . Next appointment is almost after 4 weeks from the initial call . Still waiting . Hoping and praying .

My 7 month old 65" 4K OLED C9 TV that cost me over $4000 developed a hideous bright green vertical line down the right side of the screen about 8 inches in. This line was also followed by two off-color vertical bands that exacerbated the overall look. The tv was alread on for several hours that morning when the line suddenly decided to show up. As far as I was concerned, all the extra money I spent on a quality TV went right down the toilet as my previous plasma TV was thrown in the garbage for a similar vertical line that was expected as it already exceeded its 10 year life expectancy. The reason I give a full 5 star rating was for the ease of finding LG's phone number, calling it and getting an instant response from people who know what they're doing, and following through with instructions on getting this resolved... The entire warranty process was a breeze and couldn't have been better. I'm just hoping the issue was an odd-ball fluke and the new panel will live longer. I'm pleased to have my quality Dolby Atmos home theater back.

I have been given the runaround for months. LG does not stand behind their products or the service company that does their repairs in Toronto.

At LG their "Lies are Good" at frustrating and causing you stress.
Their call center is an another country or countries, so they can hide behind their Identity by providing false names, false information and false hope. The authorized service center you get stuck with provides no liability or warranty, and even ask you to replace your product instead.

It took me several months to find out nothing was ever documented, and so information was not passed on by their other agents, supervisors and managers.

The plan is to put you on hold and hope you go away.

LG is blaming Purolater and Neri the customer service rep. has said that this happens often. LG Canada Customer service is exceptionally poor particularly call center in Philippines. They do not have service centers in all cities even in a bigger city like Windsor. One of the supervisor's in the call center in Philippines asked me to provide the phone number of their Authorized service center Trans Global. It took more than 5 days to set up an appointment and I spent more than half a day today on the phone between poor LG customer service agents/supervisor and Trans Global to finalize an appointment that is a 10 days from today with no weekend appointment availability in Windsor. This is for a Fridge which is less than 3 weeks old. Had I known about this kind of service of this unprofessionally managed company, I would not have spent a dime with this company.
Shame on LG Canada..
