A superb spot for a relaxation night, solo or with a companion
I thought the price was steep at first, but totally worth it if you spend the day. Many areas to visit and relax. Next time I will be sure to bring a book.
I don't get the negative reviews I've been there several times and look forward to it. On facebook it's rated 4.3 on google it's 2.5 because from reading the reviews people don't accept responsibility for there own actions. Like the guy who got a $500 ticket for driving with expired tags, or the person who ran into traffic and couldn't make it for there massage on time (No different than missing a doctors/dentist appointment except that your health care provider covers most of the cost)
I enjoy my time there and wish there was one more local. I've been to Scandanavian Spa's and this Nordik puts the other too shame. It's got so many different baths, saunas and steam rooms plus a variety of resting areas. A perfect place to spend the day
Fantastic experience, awesome view, would however recommend bringing your own sandals. I bought some at the Spa and they were taken, hopefully by accident. Walk around the whole day with a size 6 compared to the size 10 I bought.
The experience was fantastic. Probably all sorts of saunas and spa. The silence is well separated from the social zone. Only negative point: the murmur zone is not respected and no one is present to enforce it.
Not impressed with the start of my visit! I showed up 1hour and 15minutes prior to my scheduled massage only to be met with a HUGE line. Finally someone came out and directed me to the Boutique to check-in. Upon waiting 20 mins I finally reached the check-in desk at 11:50. My massage wasn t scheduled until 12:30pm so I had lots of time. HOWEVER the receptionist refused to check me in because it was too close to my massage . When I questioned her, she was rude and embarrassed me in front of the other customers waiting to check-in. I walked away and headed to my massage only to be told I was too early! I pay a lot of money to visit and do not deserve to be treated like this!!! Reception is INCREDIBLY SLOW and this needs to change!
We appreciate how they handled cancelling our reservations due to Covid, we will see you guys when you open!
This place has become an institution. It s packed these days, especially around the holidays but it is one of the best spas in North America with the most diverse range of spa-activities.
The place is so beautiful. It's a good place to disconnect when in winter in Canada... The only bad experience we had was with the servers there. They are not as kind as they should be in a place like this. Massage therapist were very kind, but receptionists and waiters, waitress not very nice
Showers in dressing room were freezing and didn't warm up
Kalla treatment amazing, staff fantastic, food excellent, saunas the best
Such a lovely place to relax and connect with yourself or friends or partner...very romantic too. Never had a bad experience in the 18 years have been going there
Second time here (I said I would return). Did the New Year's Eve part event, well worth the money. Everything was open and running. The lounge menu is good enough (extra 40$ for the Bistro menu that night, each). Portions were quite large. A must is going to an Aufguss ritual. We did the ritual to ring in midnight and 2019, amazing. The only suggestions I would have is make the hot stone beds hotter and get some glass stemware for the wine and cocktails.
Never any towels or robes so we froze.... so expensive for missing things :( tubs need to be cleaned more often.
A friend of mine had a gift certificate that we used with no problem, we were also given complimentary bathrobes which were great on the chilly day. There was some minor construction going on, but it ended around 2. We stayed till 9 and throughly enjoyed ourselves. Friendly knowledgable staff and a beautiful ambiance.
I liked it much better today with less people allowed in. Even though the chairs were distanced due to Covid there were no issues finding a place to sit and relax. Very pleasant day!
I loved it so much. It was quite busy when I went on a Saturday but it's normal.
I went on Sunday night with my boyfriend. It was beautiful and relatively quiet. However the service staff at the front were impatient and rude to us and the customers beside us.
One of the best spa I have ever been to! Can't wait to go back :)
The site is exceptional! Since the Covid, the price of cocktails is too high, the price of admission has also increased substantially, but they have done a lot of new development. Very clean place. I love this place!
Absolutely beautiful place to unwind and relax. Take your time to explore all the pools, saunas and temperature sensations! Even brave the icy baths, it is very invigorating! Love that they have a no cell phone policy! So, people cant ruin the experience taking selfies and talking on the phone...a rare experience these days. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Love this place. Friendly staff and exceptional facilities. Highly recommended to visit.
Very relaxing quiet spot to unravel at the end of a stressful work week. Lots of amenities and while costly, worth the trip.
Spending a day by yourself, with friends, or a loved one at Le Nordik is a great experience. Particularly enjoyable in the winter, you'll finally understand why the Nords are happier than the rest of the world. Highly recommended.
Bring flip-flops, you'll be walking on stone walkways between baths and the saunas and steamrooms in little chalet type houses
Love this place. Been going for a few years now. Unfortunately, it has dropped a star in my opinion as it has become very popular, meaning a lot more people in the spa area. They are also expanding the facilities, which is not helping the view around the hot tubs. Making it feel even more crowded.
If you want to go and relax, get there when they open otherwise you will be queuing for quite a while just to get in...
And not sure what has happened to the restaurant. We usually only take an hour for our lunch, but the last time it took almost 2 hours. The food has also gone down in quality as well, lacking the usual flare and flavor that it used to have.
We will still go back for the facilities, but will second guess if the food is worth it anymore...
Love the new expansions to the spa. Really great for whatever you're feeling. Relaxing and quiet. Or lounging in a chill social area.
Amazing massage and affuss and food. Definitely a wonderful getaway
Wonderful experience. We went for a massage and to enjoy the baths. It's a surreal experience going in winter, going from pool to pool surrounded by snow but it is absolutely worth it. My wife and I had a very relaxing morning & afternoon and both of us raved about the massages we received. What attentive service!
The emplacement is really nice, service is really good, but way too busy. I find that they accept too many people and it's not relaxing being in a pool or hot tub with 75 people. It's my personal opinion. The food is really good!
Could be AMAZING. The lack of showers between hot pools and sauna make it kind of gross. They don t even tell people to shower when they leave the change room or before the hot pools or after and before sauna. People sweat their toxins then rinse them off in the hot pools. It s not this way in Scandinavian countries. There was also Very loud people in quite area (lengthy period of time) and none of the employees asked them to quiet down. At dinner, when paying my tab the lady asked if she could take the remaining $ on my bracelet, I had already had a 20% tip. Food was amazing!
Was a satisfactory visit and I would recommend this place to others.
A review based on an experience that occurred over a year ago:
An absolutely beautiful and relaxing place. We had such an incredible weekend here! Multiple saunas and hot tubs in one location - it was never too crowded! I highly recommend Nordik Spa to anyone!
You would not think that jumping from Cold Water to Hot Water to Sauna Rest would be so addictive, but it is. There s a variety of pools with different temperatures (0C, 10C, 15C, 21C, 25C, 31C, 36C, 38C) and multiple saunas and fire pits and swings and resting areas. Just walk around and keep going through the different experiences.
Everything is provided for you here so simply go in with a bathing suit. You are given a wrist band that will open your locker electronically. The wrist band is also used for buying food and drinks. So simply leave everything in your locker and take the bathrobe and chill out. You are given 3 towels as well.
At an additional cost, the intensive massage was amazing too and it s covered under extended health insurance (if you have it).
There s tons of food options at the spa as well as well as a bar. At the big pool, there s a snack bar and you can order snacks such as tacos, burgers etc.
It s about a 20 min drive from Ottawa and located in such a serene spot. Make sure you spend a good 6 hours at least. And go with a couple of friends and it ll be a great day out.
The view is gorgeous as well from the Infinity pool. The night lighting is beautiful as well.
Will definitely be coming back maybe for the full day!
I have been going to Le Nordik 2 or 3 times a year for the past 5 years or so. I still thoroughly enjoy some aspects of the spa but some things have really gone downhill. I absolutely love the restaurant as well as the massage therapists and I do appreciate that they are making additions and renovations on regular basis. Unfortunately, it seems some services have been set aside such as staffing at the front desk. Last visit, we arrived around 6pm on a Friday night and there were only two staff working the front desks. We ended up waiting for over 30 minutes just to get in. Considering the amount we paid to visit and receive treatments, I would hope to receive better service than this. Then there were the change rooms. There was a strong odour of vomit in both the female and male change rooms- especially in the showers. The shower stalls were quite dirty themselves with dust and gunk build up and they badly needed new curtains. Considering how great some aspects of the spa can be as well as how much work is being done to the outdoor area, I really hope they do some renovations and/or become more focussed on cleanliness of the change rooms.
Absolutely delightful, relaxing experience. Fully encourage folks to try it out.
Had a fantastic bachelorette here. Food and beverages are over priced but in over all had a fabulous experience
I don't understand the negative reviews that some have published! This place is beautiful and very relaxing, I enjoyed the quiet immensely. I would recommend this place to anyone. Please check out their website first before going and then you won't be surprised by the fact that there are different levels of quiet that are acceptable. Also, it's not a "fast food" restaurant so you may have to wait to use certain pools (because only a certain number are allowed in) and for your meal to come. If you are an inherently impatient person and can't possibly fathom being quiet for 10 minutes then please don't go here you'll ruin it for everyone else!
Absolutely loved it. Great massage. So relaxing in the hot tub and loved the sauna.
We visited Nordik on the family day long weekend, it was a wonderful experience, lots a facilities with plenty of space even on an incredibly busy day. Staff were friendly and helpful, needed to arrive about 30 minutes before open in order to get in right away.
First time going to this spa, and I loved it! It was hard to leave, and I was so relaxed by the end of it. I would recommend bringing a book to read, as the relaxation rooms are perfect to relax and read a book. Many hot tubs and saunas to try out. I definitely want to try it out come summer as well.
Go for the day, it's very relaxing. Helped to de-stress after the holidays!
Treat yourself for sure!! I got a deep tissue massage - hurts so good! They ring a gong every odd hour - do not miss the "towel show"
People sit on sauna benches without putting down their towels, and they don t replace the bench wood often enough so it s nasty...
Also wish it was clothing optional, I m from Poland and it s shocking to me that they won t allow clothing optional at a NORDIC spa...
This is my favourite place in the world, and pretty much the only place I am able to feel truly relaxed. I went today - somewhere around my 10th time - and I'll be returning tomorrow. If you don't leave here feeling fantastic you're trying to find something to be upset about.
The best and beautiful place. Wonderful to relax. Perfecto para relajarse. Los saunas. Las banos. The chairs. The comida. !!!!!!!!!
What used to be a great place to relax, has become an overcrowded spa. Where you used to have maybe 1 group of people "not whispering" now turned into people talking loudly in every bath. Our towel or robes ended up off their hooks and on More
Great to see that the money spent is put back into even more services and expansion projects!
Just absolutely magical. It was so good we spent the whole day there.
Great place to relax and they have a free charging station in their parking lot for electric vehicles. The price is what is expected from a spa, and the location is gorgeous. The staff is bilingual and accommodating. Their food is great, especially the pan-seared cheese - DO order it. Plenty of options for relaxation rooms and types of seating.
I ve lived in the Ottawa area for around 10 years, this the only place that I miss from Ottawa.
Gorgeous place, probably the best spa in Canada. The massage was great!
Speechless. Such a luxurious experience. The salt pool was the highlight.
As always, excellent experience in a splendid environment!
The spa is a relaxing getaway of baths, saunas, meditation rooms, hot stone beds, eucalyptus rooms etc. I would recommend a half day trip for the baths. It is very enjoyable in every season. It is just a quick drive from Ottawa. Be warned, It can get very busy, so much that it is hard to find a spot in the baths and saunas.
We love it here. It's beautiful and relaxing. The essential oil infusion ceremony every hour is amazing. I do it as often as I can. I do wish they would bring back group discounts and that they were more accessible, inclusive and affordable
Been here three times and the facility is very well maintained, friendly staff, and wonderful ambience
This is my favorite place on the planet. It's my go-to happy place.
Bring your own robe, gets busy and food is pricey.. but still a good time
Very beautiful and relaxing place. Love how they prohibit cell phones so you can just unwind and forget about your busy life. Go before may and after sept as in between the summer season theres a spike in fuzzy caterpillars unless you dont mind, big mistake for me as they were everywhere, dangling from trees, on floor, inside the houses, in the water etc anyway it was like a horror show. But the experience was nice the massages was not rough it was more of aromatherapy and light massages. Wouldnt recommend if you are trying to look for a deep tissue one. Service is helpful and friendly. Food is very pricey for small portions maybe an experience one or two time but eat before or after if you dont want to pay for expensive food. First place that got me addicted to charcuterie. Washrooms are clean and you can walk barefoot around premises. However there may be something in their shower water that makes my skin break out into a rash, first time thought it was in the body soap they provide you for after spa cleansing so i brought my own but it still happens...you only get one bathrobe you rented for entire visit so if its wet its wet if its lost its lost however you have unlimited towel changes...so why rent robes when u can get fresh dry towels everytime you need one? parking is plenty but front row or nearer to premise gets full very quickly so plan ahead if you dont want walk very far after dark
Relaxing getaway. Perfect after a day of skiing or snowshoeing in Gatineau park. Big selection of hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, cold plunges, relaxation areas, and restaurants. Don't miss the hammocks. In the winter, they are under a heat lamp and have a weighted fleece blanket -- so cozy!
I'd recommend calling in advance for wait times, especially on holidays. It can be up to a 2-3 hour wait. You have to go in person to put your name down and then they'll text you when there's room. They also send you a link, so you can see where you are on the waitlist.
I have been visiting the Nordik Spa since it opened in 2005 and have always raved about it. The facilities are beautiful and the staff makes the experience truly unique. On April 19th, Good Friday, I travelled from my new home in Toronto to visit the spa for my birthday (April 18) and had an amazing time. I received a ticket in the mail last night for 486$ for an expired license plate sticker. Expired by 12 hours. This is incredibly upsetting that the spa allows the MRC to patrol their private parking lot and target their customers. I spent well over 600$ at the spa as a treat to myself and this is what I get. You would think that the spa would want to protect its customers from a known situation and it's incredibly upsetting. I will no longer be going to the Nordik Spa and no longer advocating their business to my family, friends, and large number of clients. Moreover, I will be strongly deterring all those I know in the Toronto area to stay away from their new project in Whitby. Nordik spa management should put security at the front gate of their premises to allow only paying customers on the property. I feel absolutely violated. Shame on you Nordik Management.
I love the Nordik Spa. Their staff are very friendly, and their food is delicious. You have to know when to go and when is their busy time I avoid Friday-Mondays. It helps to get there early too.
This place changed a lot over the past few years. A lot of people go to relax, but it is harder now to relax, since there is so many people. I personally preferred it when it was smaller. But business is likely very good, so they had to expand. I still recommend.
Need to relax... This is the place. Don't plan on doing anything tonight. You will feel like a million bucks when you are finished with the Nodik experience. Hot tubs, dry sauna, relaxing rooms, amazing food and drink!
What a great day for a couple.
Need better direction to enter the building for new comer. Great staff
Awesomely relaxing and memorable experience. Well worth it, will be back again.
Fantastic ..... so pampered to have this jewel in our area!
When Bryan Adams was singing about heaven I think he was singing about Nordik Spa
Nice relaxing setting in an amazing natural environment!
We love this place, visit them every month during winter time from Toronto. Worth the drive.
Very enjoyable experience, facility is mostly well kept and most staff are very professional and attentive. We were both really impressed by the restaurant as well. We also really liked the bracelet system where you are able to load money on to your bracelet which also works as the key to your locker - allowing you to stay phone and wallet free.
Some of the drawbacks were: spa was a bit too busy to be truly relaxing, the poor design of the change rooms - very crammed, not enough bench space, weird layout, kind of dirty, that some of the hot tubs were dirty - you could see so many hairs and dirt floating around, there was a lot of confusion as to who s robe was who s because they all look the same, and some of the areas weren t salted so they were icy.
While an amazing experience overall, the restaurants were subpar and overpriced. The staff were all great and our masseuses were excellent.
Probably the best spa I've been too. Spacious with lots of pools, saunas, and steam rooms. I do wish there were maps / wayfinding markers throughout. Our feet definitely froze as we tried to find the right pool in the winter!
Good price considering you can stay the whole day. Lots of pools, saunas and places to relax. The food and drinks are a bit expensive. Atmosphere is amazing, summer or winter. Our favourite place in the Ottawa area.
