Rooms are nice, but service is French. The hotel is located across from the beach and near the old town which is nice for easy walks to lots of shopping and eating. For what you're paying, service is pretty lackluster especially by American standards. There's very little preference given to SPG GOLD/PLATINUM members, no coffee makers, air conditioning worked most of the time and there were two English language channels on the TV which was nice. We were told we were "upgraded to a city view" since we are Gold which really means you look at the building sitting 20 feet next door. We also asked for a late check out due to a 7pm flight and after asking four times someone finally said we could check out at 2pm versus the normal 12pm. Geee...thanks. Despite all those details, the hotel is fine and has a cocktail bar and restaurant on the roof with a nice view. I will likely not stay here again.

Great location.

Great location.
If you think hotel is connected to beach, you are wrong. It is across the street from the beach.
Hotel rooms are old and needs renovation. Which they are Already working on. The staff is very welcoming and the roof top restaurant is a must visit. Jimi was our server, he was great!

Great location, right near the old town and the beach and friendly staff. Comfortable beds and decent spread for breakfast. Had a lack of plugs in the room (2 of which 1 wasn't working) but spoke to staff and they promptly sent an extension up.

Amazing rooftop pool and restaurant. The view from there of the promenade and surrounding area are breathtaking. Very goid location for trains and bys station. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice for each nationality.

Best hotel experience of mine. I stayed in the top floor corner room with balcony (I think it's their most expensive room) so they may have treated me a little better. Great location, awesome view, modern room design with big windows and I love the shower! Will definitely stay their again if I can (and have the money). I originally booked a standard room but they persuaded me to upgrade and gave me a discount. After all I paid about 800 EUR for one night but absolutely no regret!

Online and phone customer service is the worst ever! In order to change my booking, I had to call 3 different numbers, send e-mails to 4 different addresses and still, noone was willing to help me. All I got was: "I don't do bookings. Call/Send an e-mail instead." By far the worst customer service that I've ever experienced in the hospitality business! 0/10 do not recommend.

Clean, with comfy beds and friendly staff. It would be nice if the hotel provided tea and coffee making facilities in their rooms and didn't make guests pay for accessing the sauna and spa given they've already paid for their rooms.

Did I not give a review last December when I stayed at this hotel for one week? I should have. The furnishings and walls of my room were tattered and banged-up. This hotel charges enough to keep up its appearance. That said, the view from my room was fabulous. So you choose: a banged-up room with a view, or something else.

The Good

The Good
- Great Location
- Staff was friendly, although they didn't seem to help me with the flaws I saw with the hotel
- Clean

The Bad
- Rooms are outdated. I expected more with the high rates the hotel charged
- In the basic room that has an interior facing view, you get one small window of the crummy hotel courtyard area. Not very pleasant for the price and caused me to upgrade.
- I was told that I could upgrade to an ocean room for free if I was an SPG gold member. As I'm a Ritz Carlton gold member, I knew I should be an SPG gold member as well, but there was an issue with linking the accounts that the Marriott loyalty team has still not resolved. Once I showed my Ritz gold membership after a long time on the phone with Marriott/SPG/Ritz, they offered me an upgrade to a garden/ocean view for 50/night. It was nice, but not the full ocean view, and it was not free.
- The above mentioned phone calls cost me 139. What is that like 5 a minute? Rediculous. If it was clearly posted, I would have used my cell phone for $0.20/minute.
- AC was sub-optimal. The hotel delivered a fan and had maintenance adjust the AC, which made it better by the second night.
- The gym doesn't open until 10 am and isn't open at night. Why would I want to exercise in the middle of the day on my vacation or while I'm working? This rendered it basically unusable for me.
- You are supposedly able to pair your PC with the TV, but when you search for the TV on your computer, every room has the same TV name. I tried to connect to about 10 different TVs (of a list of 40+) before giving up and just using my computer.
- Mattressses need to be replaced. They are distinctly sagging in the middle. The hotel also did not have a king sized mattress available for my wife and I, although they did offer to push the two mattresses together with one set of sheets in a way that did not have a crack in the middle.

Yesterday me and my wife arrived in Nice during our sailing vacation. The nights on a sailing boat can be tough and after a while you need a real bed and a good shower with breakfast in bed... So we decided to check in here because the hotel looked very nice and it lays directly at the ocean. We enjoyed the stay here very much. The highlight was definitely the cocktail evening at the roof terrace yesterday evening. Amazing location, friendly staff and a good cocktail quality. See you again in two or three years!

Beautiful views, great location right on the promenade. We walked everywhere in Nice. It wasn't too far from the train station, so we were able to use it as a base for traveling the Riviera. Breakfast was fantastic.

I'll start by saying this: we loved the location of this hotel. Right at the promenade, it was within walking distance to the old town, restaurants, etc. And right at the beach!

The hotel itself is nice. It looks like they just refurbished the place and we had a pretty good deal via Starwood for a suite, which means our view overlooks the riviera and it was an amazing view.

Facilities in the room we had was quite amazing. Beautiful views from the bedroom to the bathroom and a terrace that runs the whole length of the room.

The bathroom in our suite was one of the nicest I've seen.

We had room service quite often and the service was very prompt and fast.

The front desk personnel was extremely helpful and helped arrange for a tour of the French Riviera which turn out to be very good and we had a fantastic time.

The one thing to note is that our room was on the second top floor (the top floor had an amazing pool!), there's a restaurant is on the top floor and during service, noise do creep into the room, even with all the doors closed.

The hotel do have a modern feel to it which might not be for those looking for a more rustic home feel that other accommodations in the area might offer. Plus, we stayed in a suite so am not sure about the standard room. We would not be surprised if some might consider this at a more pricier range.

But ultimately, we like the central location that felt like we were in the centre of action. And there was a great view and we preferred the modern feel as well.

Cool

I WILL NOT recommend this hotel, because:

I WILL NOT recommend this hotel, because:
1. Very used room, flaked off furniture in the room, flaked off and broken chairs in the buffet breakfast
2. Unclean: the toilet even has dirt that I cannot use it and I need to go to lobby to use the toilet?
3. No walk in shower, I ve never seen it, I need to take a shower in bathtub with shower curtain in a 4-Satr hotel?
4. Food not fresh: breakfast buffet salmon was not fresh

I was unwilling to take those photos to destroy my beach holiday.

Staying for 3 nights and upon the check out at the reception not telling us you have 2-day parking pass?

Nice is such a beautiful city, unfortunately I chose the wrong hotel to stay, Le Meridien Nice, NEVER AGAIN

Location is great. Rooms are clean but a bit stressed out. Not worth the 4 star hotel rating. Lacks basic services. The room is almost empty. For a 4 star hotel, you expect slippers, bathrobe, a working AC, some sound proofing, fresh and clean bathroom. None of that was available. And even worse, the public car park is right under neath the hotel. But you cant access the hotel from it, the lift is closed down for security reason. So, either climb 4-6 set of smelly stairs to get to the lobby dragging your luggage. or use public lifts to the street on the back side of the building and walk around to the lobby.
The lobby is in the first floor with limited space for crossing when people are queuing at the reception.

A bit expensive because of the name and location compared to what you actually get. But I believe this is normal in tourist city on south France beach.

I still can get better room and amenities in IBIS hotel for much lower price.

The location is great! However, the facilities could be updated. I was in an oceanview with a balcony, and while the balcony was spacious, the room itself was not. The bathroom is dated, which is surprising for such a high-end brand of hotels. The pool was closed at the end of June, which is not great if they re trying to sell their luxury amenities. Overall, I expected a lot more.

Great location, friendly staff, good housekeeping service. The breakfast room was not always prepared to serve guests. The food ran out and was not replenished in a timely manner. The rooms are adequate.

The location is a fantastic choice, whilst the service at the desk is of a somewhat fine standard. Meanwhile, the service at the terrace is disgustingly slow and banal. The individuals working there are extremely slow at responding to customers, and instead opt for fumbling around and discussing orders between themselves. Additionally, the main courses are terribly overcooked. The quality of the hotel itself is of quite a high standard, but the terrace restaurant drags down the perception of it as a whole. For such a nice position, it would be a fine choice to switch it out for something else, or at least consider training the staff properly or substituting them completely.

As a frequent traveler and someone who basically saw the most of the world as I work in tourism business I m truly shocked and deeply disappointed!
I was often staying in Le Meridien hotels all across the world and never experienced something like this!

The cleaning staff makes such a noise at 8 o clock in the morning that you won t be able to sleep!

The whole quality of the hotel is equivalent of a 2 star property somewhere in Asia ( and don t get me wrong I love Asia most on the planet! - you get there this category for like max 25 Euros a night!)
I would leave in this moment if it would be possible! Unfortunately 2 more nights left here!
Avoid this place far away!

Booked the executive room that has an amazing garden and sea view but unfortunately I can t understand why they didn t provide a kettle for tea and/or coffee. When I asked about it, it was NOT complimentary with the room! Very bad idea as I can tell you that even a Bed & Breakfast room would have such complimentary stuff included!

A really great hotel very well located. When you have a room on the 8th or 9th floor you re fine or a room at the waterfront. Otherwise I think you won t have a good hotel room view. Great staff. I was very surprised that almost every service staff at the restaurant knows what it means when asking for gluten-free bread. The only thing ... the hotel could definitely need a little makeover, you will realize this when walking along to your room or partly also in your room.

the staff Seam to be put out when asking stuff like could we have coffee in the room no was they answer the restaurant offer it will cost you 7.00

The cleaner would knock on the door at 8.00AM to see if they could clear room

The hotel really need a bit of a paint job the rooms were okay

The hotel room smelled, there was a hole in the bathroom door, paint missing off base molding and the inside of the closet had water damage and mold on the wall. The hotel refused to offer any compensation. Do not stay here. The room made me sick.

I just had their "security staff" open the door yelling security and enter our room despite a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. My wife had just stepped out of the bathroom to get changed, I was undressed ready to go into the shower after her. She had to run and hide around the corner to avoid being seen and I had to pull on a pair of shorts. I barely got an apology from the guy as he turned away to make a call. The housekeeping ladies appeared more distraught and offered more of an apology. I'm not making this stuff up here. I've just rung reception and have demanded that the GM come and explain themselves. Of course, he/she is absent. This is completely disgraceful and unacceptable. I've now wasted another half an hour of my afternoon dealing with this. I had their head of housekeeping come up and try to blame reception for not informing them that I had requested a late checkout. Disgraceful. Own up to your actions. They only gave me until 2pm (half an hour to shower and pack). They should be ringing the room or have reception check if there were guests in the room if there was a privacy sign on the door. Instead of shifting the blame. A male security staff walked in on my room when my wife was naked and getting dressed. What more is there to say about this hotel. I am absolutely furious right now.

Amazing place, amazing view, coming here every year. Today we were waiting for 10 minutes just to be seated, nobody from staff paid any attention to the line of guests waiting. Waiter Jason was extremely rude and unprofessional. So sad to see such a nice place decay

Great location (across the street from the Ironman race start/finish), friendly staff, ice cold AC, great breakfast buffet in a dining/lounge room on the 2nd floor overlooking the beach (floor to ceiling windows) and lunch on the expansive rooftop was lovely too. What a view! Small pool, but it was nice to cool off there. I was concerned about the rooms needing to be refurbished from the other reviews, but it was fine.

The hotel is in an extremely busy part of town, which may be great for some but not those looking for a calming experience in the French Riviera - think South Beach in Miami instead. The hotel entrance feels like a shopping mall with tons of people going up and down escalators. The rooms are decent but hallways seem a little rundown. Staff is friendly. The rooftop pool is a joke - don't trust the hotel's pictures. We love Starwood hotels but won't be staying here again.
