Larry Caldwell, D.D.S. Review

We love Dr. Caldwell and the staff. All very professional and friendly. They truly love kids and you can tell. My 3 year old son isn t the easiest to examine but always leaves with a smile on his face. He loves getting his token along with a new toothbrush and floss when he leaves.

They were so patient with my son, worked with him kept him comfortable work to his pace and took into account his emotions and feelings. I highly recommend this office. Amazing Staff

I would give Dr. Caldwell and his office 10 stars. We have been going to Dr. Caldwell for 13 years and have never had a bad experience. All three boys always get the same hygienist so they are familiar with them. They always ask how they are and are up to date with activities the kids are involved in. My children LOVE going to the dentist. Dr. Caldwell is very patient with them and explains to them the importance of taking care of your teeth and gums. Love the reminders, the staff and Dr. Caldwell. I had a very anxious Autistic child that was always put at ease once we entered the doors! My other son has to be premedicated and they always call in the prescription in enough time.

My autistic child has been a patient of Dr. Caldwell for many years. I would highly recommend him and his staff. They know how to work on special needs patients and aren't "afraid" of them!! Previously we saw the dentist at TX Childrens. They were TERRIBLE!! Would only work on the patient if there was a problem--no routine cleanings.

We have been visiting Dr. Caldwell's office for three years. Our grandson, now 6, is autistic, and I was concerned with how he would handle the cleaning. We were so pleased with how patient, kind and "kid friendly" their entire staff is. Our experience from the receptionist, to the waiting areas, to the hygienist, to the final step with Dr. Caldwell was as pleasant as one could ever hope for. My grandson can't wait to go to the dentist and in the words of a 6 year old, "This place is awesome!" I would highly recommend this office. I only wish I was a little person again.

I can personally attest to the service, 22 + years! Recently, started over with my 4 year-old and now my 1 year-old. His practice is always with integrity. He is thorough, explains everything, never feel rushed, encourages parent(s)/guardian(s) to express questions/concerns, friendly staff (love Cindy) always willing to answer questions/concerns or accommodate. To date, I continue to refer family and friends. Highly recommend!

Dr. Caldwell is kind and professional, and he goes above what is required to provide excellent service. He guarantees his work. When my daughter chipped the back of her resin crown that he had put on her front permanent tooth a few years ago, he performed maintenance work on it free of charge to smooth it out and polish it. My daughter was SO HAPPY and grateful! And I am, too! When you want the best dental care AND a kid-friendly atmosphere, Dr. Caldwell is the answer.

Dr. Caldwell and his staff are nothing short of amazing.My 3 year old was frightened and the hygenist got down to his level and explained everything to him in a way that he would understand. They have goody bags with character themed toothbrushes, colorful flossers, stickers and at the end of the appointment the kids get a token to get a toy out of the machines. My 4 year old has been seeing Dr. Caldwell for 2 years now and she looks forward to her dental appointments. We love Dr. Caldwell's office!

I brought my daughter here after a bad experience at another office. (The other office wanted her to have deep sedation and I didn't agree with it and they have a policy that all procedures have to be done in the same day, whereas I wanted the procedures to be broken up into two different treatments). She had 6 cavities... yeah I know, bad Mommy.
Anyway, come to find out, after visiting Dr. Caldwell's office the treatment plan we had been given at the "bad" dentist office was total baloney and they had planned to do a bunch of extra stuff that my daughter didn't need, including putting 6 silver crowns in her mouth when she only really needed 1. Yeah...really!
And since Dr. Caldwells' specializes in the white (resin?) crowns, we are getting that one, and no one will be the wiser.
Always get a second opinion when you feel something is wrong.
I'm so glad we went to Dr. Caldwell's. My daughter has had her first procedure done and she had a great experience. They also called post procedure to make sure she was OK, which I thought was a nice touch.

Amazing dental hygienists and dentists! They really know how to communicate with and entertain little kids. My 6 and 3 year old daughters keep asking when their next dentist appointment is. They can't wait for it! My youngest had a filling for a cavity. Dr. D talked the whole way through, even sang songs to her. He goes above and beyond. This place is a little bit of a drive for us, but it's worth it.

Dr. Caldwells office was amazing. I took my 15 month old there when she fell and broke her front tooth. We were seen very fast and the procedure was fast (not painless) but fast. The Dr's and Nurse's were so kind and showed real concern for my little one. Thank you!

Very informative, nice staff and i really appreciate the fact that they have t-shirts, toys and toddler appropriate toothbrushes. My daughter is 13months and this was her first appointment. The visit was short and sweet.

my son had an infection in his tooth and a friend recommended me go to misionbend family dentistry, really bad experience they just hurted my son and didn t do nothing really unprofessional, then I went with Dr caldwell and he was AMAZING took the tooth out without hurting my son, all the procedure was like 5 mins. incredible Professional excellent with little kids, he s just the best and everyone in there is nice , highly recommended for little kiddos

We've been going here my children's entire lives (one is 13 and one is 18); we couldn't be happier. Love the staff; love the dentist and wouldn't change a thing!

My son is four and he is on the very hyper side, when he comes to this office though he is very at ease and comfortable. Its the best place for kids going to the dentist the staff is really nice he let them actually clean his teeth for the first time! I highly recommend Dr. Caldwell and his office.

Took my 21 month old to his first dentist visit and I was amazed at how well he responded to the staff and cleaning. I know I dread the dentist, but my son loved them. The staff is great, and Dr. Caldwell is so welcoming. Very happy with my visit.

We are always really happy with the staff here. I do feel comfortable with the two dentist that run the place however I do think they can improve on communication. My child had a cavity and they mentioned giving her something to make her a bit calmer and then I was given papers to sign regarding brain issues and death. I went home and realized they wanted to put her under for one cavity and i called back and said no. Whilst they were supportive they still had not a explained to me what putting under meant (are they fully unconsicoius, semi-unconscious, are they given a pill, a drink, intravenous...) Nothing was explained to me so we decided not to put her under. Whilst she was a little wriggly being 4 she did great getting a filling and the dentist did a great job so I was very happy in the end. I think they could be a little more transparent and explained things better to a concerned parent. After doing the procedure, I can certainly understand needing to use something stronger than laughing gas for more than one filling but again where was the explanation about all of this? Just please do a better job of communicating with the parent especially when it comes to what exactly does putting under mean and how can you get us as the parent comfortable with that ie have you had any complications before, how do you monitor child whilst under, do you have oncall emergency in case of an emergency etc...

My daughter is petrified of all doctors. She has severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist. Her old dentist would not even provide care for her because of it. Dr. caldwell s Office was amazing! She got her cavities filled and was very relaxed during the procedures. The dentist she saw was absolutely great! They are always so patient with her and her needs. We will only be going here from now on.

Everyone in that office is amazingly sweet. They seriously go above and beyond, making my daughters feel comfortable and happy while getting their teeth cleaned, examined, etc. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Caldwell's practice!

Who s kid says he loves the dentist??? Mine does after today s visit with Dr. Caldwell.
All staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our dental hygienist Kendra was super awesome!! She was very patient and loved they way she walked my son through his cleaning and x-rays since he gets very nervous.
Dr. Caldwell explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions for his upcoming procedure.
Definitely will be coming back and will recommend to family and friends!

I went with this office after reading the reviews. They aren't even in my network, but they were the only office willing to work with my schedule. I have to say that I was 100% please with their service!. Debbie was especially wonderful with both my kids ( 19 month-old and 16 year-old.) In fact the entire staff was very patient and understanding. My 19 month-old wasn't very cooperative. Although, I was a little frantic, the staff assured me that it was okay and that Dr. Caldwell would be able to exam her. Surprisingly- through all of the screams and tears- Dr. Caldwell got it done. Overall, my little one enjoyed her visit. The bug-themed atmosphere allowed her to have fun and play in-between wait times. Dr. Caldwell also gave an honest and insightful examination of my teenager. We will be back!

My husband grew up going to this dentist, and now our children go. My 2 year old went in for his first cleaning and was not too sure about it at first. The hygienist let him hold the instruments and to my surprise actually let him squirt water all over the room, which was awesome! Then he let her clean his teeth. They are all so great with kids and we have fun going!

Had an amazing experience with Dr. Caldwell and his staff today. When I called in to set up an appointment the person that I spoke to was very accommodating and explained all of my options to me very clearly. When I arrived they were punctual with our appointment time and great with my son. Thanks to everyone there for making a dental experience a good one!

We took our 21 month old for her 1st visit and were really concerned that she would be fussy, as she is with most of her doc visits. But everyone from the nurse to Dr Caldwell were extremely nice and helped calm her down. Also they gave us really good tips on dental care for toddlers.

The most courteous and understanding group of professionals. For our last appointment we were delayed due to traffic but the staff was very understanding and had my son in as soon as we arrived. Really appreciate their willingness to help us in any situation.

We've been bring our kids to Dr. Caldwell's office for over 15 years and we live in Friendswood! It is worth the drive to have a dentist that your kids like and want to go see. Great staff and Dr Caldwell treats everyone with such kindness and respect, not to mention they do a fantastic job.

Just took my daughter (3.5) for her first appointment and it was AMAZING. So quick and the staff was excellent with her. The hygienist (Brandi) explained everything before she did it and let my daughter look at the tools. I'm so glad this office is right around the corner from me. I will definitely be back.

EVERYONE is super nice and welcoming. They let you stay with your child during cleanings and procedures which is the main reason I go here! It s hard to find a dentist that lets you stay with them. My daughters old dentist told me she needed 2 crowns, 3 cavities. I came here for a second opinion and she needed nothing. Not saying that will be the case for everyone but they only do procedures that are necessary. I am blessed to have found them.

This is a great place for kids. The staff is super friendly, Dr. Caldwell is very knowledgeable and very patient. our 4 year old loves to go to the dentist now.

We took both of our son's to their dentist appointment yesterday 12/6 and couldn't be more pleased with the communication and service that was provided. My mom took me to Dr. Caldwell as a kid and I had such a great experience that I decided to take my own kids there as well. We appreciate all that they do!

My children have been going to Dr. Caldwell for years! They love it there , the office is clean and organized . I have recommended lots of people because this is the best pediatric dentist in town by far.

The ONLY place to take your kids. My son is nonverbal autistic and they treat him just like any other kiddo, even when he s screaming.

They are truly passionate about your child s dental health and there is NO guilt trip if you are having trouble getting twice-daily flosses in (or any brushing at all). Instead they offer great tips and suggestions to do the best you can with what you ve got and help come up with a plan to mitigate the damage and prevent future issues.

All the hygienists are great with the kids. I have 5 kids and they see them all at the same time so I can be in and out in less than an hour which is amazing!

This is a very friendly and accommodating office. They were friendly and helpful on the phone just setting up the appointment..... all necessary paperwork is posted on the website so it can be downloaded and completed before the visit..... but if you have to wait until you get to the office... no problem. All of the staff is glad to see you... so welcoming. Even the waiting rooms are bright and cheery... kids can watch TV while getting their teeth cleaned. Our hygienist, Brandi, was great....explaining everything to the kids. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Caldwell. He is so concerned about his patients and treats them kindness. We drive 35 miles to see him! rather than seeing a closer dentist.

Dr. Caldwell cares about his patients, the staff is wonderful, professional and care for the kids wellbeing. He is awesome with special need kids.

I am impressed with Dr. Caldwell's Office/Staff. My three year old daughter was very comfortable throughout her cleaning and exam. When we entered the office, we were welcomed immediately which set a pleasant tone for the remainder of the visit. I was very happy with my daughter's first dental experience. She was able to get her teeth cleaned with no problem. The hygienist was very good at explaining each step. Our final exam with Dr. Caldwell was pleasant.

My son has special needs and had a surgery scheduled. He was resistant at first; however Dr. Caldwell and the dental assistant were both very patient. They showed no outward irritation or aggravation. At one point my son said he was not going through with the surgery. Then he changed his mind. Everything went smoothly. This was his second surgery with Dr. Caldwell and both were seamless. I'm very appreciative. Thank you!

I love this place and will drive an hour, passing many other dentists, but it is always worth it. Favorite things: They have enough bays that they can do all my children at once. They are not very "trigger happy" on fillings and other tooth-altering work, (so that's great for both the kids' mouth and my wallet), calling some places "watch spots" where we just watch it for 6 months and reassess. And the staff and technicians and hygienists and dentists are all SO nice and GREAT with kids. I've had to take in very small kids for fillings and they helped them not feel scared, were quick, and had quality work. I've had to bring in kids with sensory issues and gagging issues and they were great working through things with them to complete the cleanings and dental work. The waiting room is often cold so bring a jacket. There are lots of toys in the waiting room to keep little kids busy. At the end there are toy machines like gumball machines and when my kids don't like the toy they will give them another token to try again and trade. So worth it in every respect.

We went to Dr. Caldwell for a second opinion on treatment for our special needs son. The front desk staff were awesome in answering all my initial questions and the actual visit couldn't have been more reassuring. The staff explained the procedures beforehand and did their best to minimize my son's discomfort during. Dr. Caldwell is our dentist of choice from now on.

My kids love Dr. Caldwell. Everyone is great and we enjoy going.

Debbie is great with my daughter, she is so gentle with her being she is special needs. Kristen hates brushing her teeth, therefore she sees Debbie alot more often, so I think she does this to see Debbie more

We've been 3 times now for my preschooler, and she is very comfortable there. They worked us in for an emergency, and she is actually excited to go back next week for her cleaning. The staff is so child-friendly, and my daughter does not have any reason to think the dentist is a scary place! Every aspect of the office including the speed at which they see patients eases children into the dentist experience.

My kids absolutely love this place! My youngest (6) told me on our last visit that he never wanted to go to any other place and he likes it so much! That even the people there are nice!

Both of my kids have been seeing Dr. Caldwell since their first dentist appointment. They are high schoolers now. It's always a fun experience for both parents and the kids. Besides high quality service, very friendly doctors and staff, I really appreciate the fact, if you get there on time, you can always be called right around your appointment time, not like the constant long wait at other doctors' offices. I don't know how they did it. But the scheduling works terrific.

Nothing but the best. The Dentist is out of network for my group plan, but their prices are so great that I have paid more for in-network. The staff is exceptionally great, especially Mrs Debbie. My children love attending the dentist here. If we move, before our children become adults, we will bring them here just a for the great love of teeth and people I they provide. Why are you a pediatric dentist if you don't know how to act around children? It was my child's first visit to the dentist and no one tried to ease her into it, they basically treated a 3 year old like a 30 year old. I am a dental hygienist at an adult practice, I would be out of the job if I treated my patients that harshly. Then they promised me one thing financially at the front desk and later sent me a bill. Needless to say, I never went back.

Absolutely one of the BEST Pediatric Dentist!! My 7 yr old has had two awful past experiences, he refuses to have cleanings done it any sort of treatment! But when I was referred to Dr. Steinbring I decided to give it another shot! And I must say this is the ONLY OFFICE I will be taking my lil one! Since the minute you walk in the girls are absolutely amazing! The staff takes such good care of your Lil ones, they make them feel so special and lets them know that everything willl be okay! When I first met Dr. Steinbring he came in focusing on just one thing! My son! Allowing the visit to feel as if he went to see a friend! And not the Dentist! Amazing first visit, that my son was excited to see him again! Day of Treatment, was with the Best Anesthesiologist Dr. Kanar!! Both Docs were there the whole time explaining everything to me and reassuring me he would be jus fine! Didn t take long and only did what was absolutely necessary!! When my son woke up, the first thing he said was That did not hurt never has that happened!!! Recovery was amazing and both Docs called to make sure he was fine! If you need a Dentis for your Lil one this is the Place!! Love Love LOVE this amazing group of amazing people!!! Thanks again for everything ya have done for my Boy!!! Truly appreciate people who love what they do and do it in such an amazing way!!!! I give them 10 STARS!!!

My son had a horrible experience at another dentist and he was terrified of going back. We were recommended Dr Caldwell and from the first visit my son felt very relaxed and now 5 years later he has absolutely no worries about going. Excellent staff and very friendly atmosphere.

It was an early appointment for my son to have a tooth pulled on a holiday... the front office handled promptly and my son felt comfortable as usual given the circumstance. Great staff always!

Terrible office staff. Dr. Caldwell is fine and so are his assistants, but the office staff (front desk, appointments, billing) are all terrible. It get's old after a while. You have to jump through hoops to get an appointment and they are always rude. We had 6 years experience with this office and it just gets worse and worse. Dr. Caldwell is not good enough for us to continue dealing with his staff.

Lovliest staff ever! Had plenty PLENTY of work done here. Always good, will work with you on payments.

Our 4 year old and 2 year old have gone to this office twice now, and we love it. The staff are so prompt, and so friendly. The hygienist makes the appointment fun during the cleaning, splashing water and laughing, so much that my daughter thinks it's fun to go to the dentist. The exam by Dr. Caldwell is quick and our daughter leaves so proud of herself she looks forward to brushing. Fantastic office!

After 13 years of visits Dr. Caldwell and his staff get 5 stars every visit... Dr. C is just the best!! His staff are friendly, efficient, and so helpful with scheduling all 4 children together in the summer and doing their best to accommodate school schedules during the year.

The staff and Doctor were great. The dental hygienist really went out of her way to make my daughter feel comfortable and less intimidated with the process. There was a billing issue, however, when we discovered after services were provided that he was out of network for my insurance. I firmly believe that how a business resolves problems says a lot about the business. And this case, they resolved the issue amicably and professionally. I am considering changing my insurance next year so that they will be in network for us.

Dr. Caldwell and his team are amazing! They made my daughter feel comfortable from the first time she visited and each time since then. My daughter actually looks forward to going to the dentist and will ask me throughout the year when she is going back. I recommend him to all my friends with little kids.

Added in additional unnecessary work (root canal & crown) on a healthy tooth. Once I confronted them with proof of this, they refunded me our money. It's sickening to think how many other times they do this!
