We are always really happy with the staff here. I do feel comfortable with the two dentist that run the place however I do think they can improve on communication. My child had a cavity and they mentioned giving her something to make her a bit calmer and then I was given papers to sign regarding brain issues and death. I went home and realized they wanted to put her under for one cavity and i called back and said no. Whilst they were supportive they still had not a explained to me what putting under meant (are they fully unconsicoius, semi-unconscious, are they given a pill, a drink, intravenous...) Nothing was explained to me so we decided not to put her under. Whilst she was a little wriggly being 4 she did great getting a filling and the dentist did a great job so I was very happy in the end. I think they could be a little more transparent and explained things better to a concerned parent. After doing the procedure, I can certainly understand needing to use something stronger than laughing gas for more than one filling but again where was the explanation about all of this? Just please do a better job of communicating with the parent especially when it comes to what exactly does putting under mean and how can you get us as the parent comfortable with that ie have you had any complications before, how do you monitor child whilst under, do you have oncall emergency in case of an emergency etc...
