I was in with COVID-19. They were very good. The staff was excellent.
Always professional, kind, sweet, caring and willing to help
Very Good!! My Medical care was on Piont! Excellent Drs., Nurses, Care staff, etc. Was my first time Here! Treated me Terrific! Thank You All..
On November 15-20th, I was admitted to Largo Medical Center, Floor 3A. I received excellent care from all the departments that crossed my path. I must state that Floor 3A nurses were excellent! On December 11, 2019, I was at Largo Medical Center, Ambulatory Surgery. Excellent staff from Pre-admission to discharge. They were all attentive and empathetic. I had an anesthesiologist that actually listened to me about my previous experiences and planned accordingly. This was a first for me. I am sorry I can not remember his name, but I am truly grateful!
Thank You, Thank You All!!
I'm statisfy with my new cardiology and the team. Dr Andrew Boyer is the greatest of greatest. God has put him in my life for a purpose. He's not just a cardiology he also treats you like his family and always wants to see you smile. After god I thank him for helping me feel better..
I was there to qualify as a living kidney donor. The staff was top notch and friendly. I had volunteers to escort me to several tests. They made me feel welcomed at all times.
Please continue your efforts in the field of transplants and health care.
I had an amazing experience at Largo Medical for my spinal surgery with Dr. Zahari! It was obvious that the surgery nurses and doctors love their jobs because they were upbeat and having a great time (even though it was 6:30am!). They had me so distracted that I never had a chance to be "nervous" about my surgery. I was admitted after surgery and had a great experience with the floor nurses and doctors too! Everyone was kind and attentive. Hopefully, I don't have to go back to the hospital anytime soon, but if I do, I would drive 45 minutes out of my way again just to go to Largo Medical!
2AM ER Visit for continuing problem. Handled well and expeditiously.
I spent four days there. I left worse off then when I got there. A few of the Nurses were top notch. The docs were just about awful. One doctor, I may call the state about. The food was always cold. Twice they didn't bring it at all. I'm still nursing an infected wrist from a bad IV (4 days.) Go to Morton or Palms... not Largo.
excellent care. er was awesome. give them 10 stars
I have had four surgeries over the years here. All rooms are private, good food and even better... order whatever yuou want whenever! Great doctors, nice nurses. A bit pricey, but what hospital isnt? I trust my life with this hospital.
Didnt give me no pain killers or antibiotics during my visit. now I have to wait for hours until the pharmacy to open. These people could really care less. Up date so they give me a generic brand of penicillin, amoxicillin and the tablets are huge how am I supposed to swallow these things when it says to not drink anything for 24 hrs ......I should not be billed for this visit . Over 1000 dollars just for a prescription for amoxicillin like what's going on in America
Every staff member that cared for me during my stay was amazing!
the doctors and nurses were amazing. can not remember the last time e had such a positive visit to the er. you guys are the best. thanks for everything
Went here for emergency wound staples. The group here was wonderful, knowledgeable, calming and up beat. Received service right away and was in and out quickly. Would highly recommend for emergency services.
I received excellent care at this facility. Every individual we dealt with was professional and caring.
Seemed short staffed, I had to make sure he got a meal when I visited on 1st visit, were never updated on his condition. My dad has been there numerous times because his MD is there, have not been happy with their service
EDIT: 5 days= $91k for minor surgery. That being said, I researched reviews on all of the hospitals in the area before settling here.. I would highly recommend this hospital for ER or for a stay. I came in to the ER a bad infection in my arm. I signed in at 6pm and in 5 min, was called back to be seen. I was told the infection was too serious to treat with oral antibiotics, so I was admitted. First let me say- SINGLE ROOMS! No shared rooms like Meade or the others. I was taken to room 454C-1 and was treated with the most kind, caring staff that I could have asked for. Dr. Christ did my surgery and did a great job following up. Rn Mike took GREAT job of taking care of me during my days, RN Kimberly out-did herself every night and Kamira was wonderful. I wish I could remember everyone's names, but there were too many great people. The compassion and attentiveness of the staff here shows how committed they are to their career and their oath. The food was pretty decent too. Tip: you can call after your meal and ask for something else, or ask for something special off the back of the menu. The food is actually pretty great! Theyre VERY accommodating. Overall, I would recommend coming here if you need an ER or plan to stay in a hospital in the Clearwater/Largo. Thanks to the ER and the 4th floor staff. You guys ROCK!
Really the first time that I stayed at a hospital overnight. My cardiologist and surgeon were the best. Drs Kline and Dr stone. The Largo Medical Center is spotless. The staff from the front door to the wonderful receptionist and all the other people that work there show you genuine respect and professionalism. I would highly recommend this institution.
Never answered my call light on time. Nurses ruined both arms because they didn't know how to insert needles for I Vs. Scratches on back no one could explain. Terrible service all around.
Terrible. Diabetic went in with Ketones.Lost my blood work had to do again had dry heaves for 7 hours. Could not treat till blood work done. Will never go there again. Should take a short time to see where ketones are. That was in ER. Terrible !!!!
5 star service from start the finish, the staff is incredible
I recently had a major surgery at Largo Medical Center and their service and staff members are Awesome! They generally care about your well-being.
My boyfriend shattered his leg and we were moved there from Largo ER on Gulf to Bay even though we requested Morton Plant. Also told we had to be transported by ambulance which the insurance company still will not pay because they said it was non emergency. Some of the nurses the fist day where nice but as the days went on all 6 of them they ignored him. Never treated his wound or told how to work the brace for his leg. Never got to see the Doctor on that floor until the last day. I stayed there all 5 nights so I know what was going on. Even had one of the orderly's go through my personal stuff in the bathroom as we were sleeping. And when I tried to report it they just shrugged it off.
His surgeon did a terrible job on his leg. He has had trouble since the surgery and was told by his surgeon Dr. Christ said it was arthritis from the second week on.He took numberous xrays and never saw the problem. Finally got a second opinion and it was three pins that he put in his leg that were rubbing up against his fibula. Now he has to have surgery all over again to take out the hardware.
I have had many experiences with other family members that have been told they had to go to this hospital. All stems down to do not go to the Largo ER on Gulf to Bay because they will not send you anywhere else but Largo Medical. And if the ambulance driver wants to take you there demand to go elsewhere.
I came to the emergency room driven by my daughter in April 2016. That was my 3rd time being in Largo Medical. I hadn't eaten or kept any fluids down for days. I was somewhat delirious. I was admitted within 30-45 minutes. The hospital was at Max capacity and didn't have any beds so they put me in observation for 3 almost 4 days. Let me tell you I would never go to another hospital if you paid me!!! I demanded on a previous time ,when transported by ambulance I demanded they take me to Largo. I was treated by Dr Jose Perez- Arce. He's my primary physician between Dr Perez, Dr Fansler and all of the nurses ect were absolutely fantastic. I never wanted for anything. There one one nurse who was a b___ch @ admitting but other than that they helped me to heal and go home a very satisfied patient. So these bad reviews I believe come from people that don't understand YOUR NOT THE ONLY PATIENT THE DOCTORS, NURSES, ORDERLIES, HOUSEKEEPING ECT...HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF!!!! if you don't like Largo Medical , go to another hospital and complain there. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CARED ENOUGH TO PROVIDE ME THE BEST CARE EVER!!! Robin
The nurses are very friendly and attentive. The pre-op care was fantastic. The recovery, what I can remember of it, was fine as well. The issue I have is post-op. I was in such pain coming off the anesthesia, I kept asking for pain medication. It got to a point where they were making me feel like I was a recovering drug addict. Like I was wrong for asking for different pain medication. They kept saying we are trying to find the doctor... but at that point, all I wanted to do was leave. My husband found the anesthesiologist and they gave me something that helped but it wore off. The medication they sent me home with was HORRIBLE!!! the side effects were more effective then the pain medication itself. My husband tried to call the doctor but he was unavailable ...
You all NEED to work on this aspect. Patients in PAIN...from SURGERY...shouldn t feel like they are drug addicts being refused pain medication...or make it so HARD for them to get relief.
I have had other surgeries, in both hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, and I have NEVER, NEVER been treated as poorly as I was at Largo Medical Center.
Because of this, I will NEVER recommend this hospital, and hopefully, will never have to have another surgery there again.
I was not what I considered to be an Emergency case and arrived on a day when they were not overrun with medical emergencies - but the care was excellent in my case, on this day. I am from out of country, whcih required additional paperwork. Everyone was great - Maria and Pam at registration/triage, Nurse Jamie and Dr Lee. They checked vitals on the way in and out, explained the nature of my illness, did a chest xray, checked my eyes for the shingles virus - they were very professional to me and the patients around me. Tough job.
Horrible place, just let my mother sit with hospital delerium told me it is what it is. No one checked bandages for 3 days from angeogram. Finally when nurse saw them she had to remove them and ripped off skin in 2 places. Sent me over to rehab center still with necrosis on foot. Then no wound care doctor came to see me for 1 week. Never again.
I survived my visit there. That's a win at this lovely teaching hospital.
My daughter is there now. I can't believe how rude some of the nurses are. She had major surgery and so far only one person has taken the time to talk to me. One nurse actually told me she didn't think I needed any more information when I hadn't gotten any. Everything time I talk to her she's been laying in pee and poop for at least an hour each time. What the hell
It a hospital the nurses very poor stand care, they are not so caring when it comes to supporting the family as a whole, never willing to asnswer questions( I am to bussy or dont have charts)And if you ask to talk to Dr. This would happening either... Put the patient on meds without knowing patient medical history... or doing some standard test before, 1. EASY test talk to someone that has knowledge......( this doesnt mean leaving out the wife,) The hospital, Dr or the nurses are not married to the husband ) meds can mask a underlining problem not fix it..... And these meds can sometimes kill the patients.... we all need to think about what this is all about ? Is it a kick back or saving lives. .
There were multiple nursing process problems with medication administration- all on the 4th floor and both shifts- this involved hospital formulary and home medications. Thanks to Christopher, Nurse Manager, who reviewed, clarified and remedied these situations after 4 days of stressful late medication doses and multiple phone calls. Two of the nurses: Kim and Samatha were excellent caregivers!!!
Excellent team of doctors. Dr. Harker is awesome doctor. Very attentive and his team. Took excellent care of me.. Thank you God bless.
I was sick for months. The doctor's, including the Dean of Medicine, misdiagnosed my condition and it cost me a ridiculous amount of money to get wrong answers. Not a single doctor had a clue. The Dean of Medicine misdiagnosed me while I was in the ER. I later learned, through a different hospital, that I have Crohn's Disease and every single doctor focused on the wrong symptoms and gave me wrong advice that just made things worse.
Very bad, I had a earache I was crying of pain. I went to the emergency room and the doctor said it wasnothing wrong even I was yelling. After that he gave he didn t do anything just run away. What was he expecting to see inside an anaconda? Until now the pain doesn t go away. Dr Oscar is worst doctor I ever see.
Dr. Steele and the ultrasound technician were excellent. Thanks for making it a great experience.
I truly dislike saying negative things about an establishment because everyone has a different experience, but because I hate such an incredibly horrible one at this ER I had to say a few things. My reason for coming into the ER was due to shortness of breath, the intake employee was very kind and helpful, I went back into a room fairly quickly, they told me they just needed to get a room cleaned. Mind you the ER was quite empty. The nurse that put my IV in was where my nightmare began. Granted I have difficult veins and being a phlebotomist for 10 years and knowing my body I asked the nurse to go in a certain vein which she found to hard so she chose on her own which would be best. She hit a nerve and went through the tiny vein she tried to put an IV in instead of trying again she just kept it. Shortly after I was taken to a room which I waited in for about 30 min. for them to come and do a chest x-ray which they did in the room and those ladies were great! Then the doctor came in and wanted a CAT scan With contrast which I then informed the nurse for the second time that my IV wasn't in properly she said it was fine without trying to push any fluids in to check if it was but what do I know. Once they pushed the iodine in I immediately knew my vein blew the pain and burning I felt in my arm was unbearable. Once I was out of the machine and my arm had ballooned to twice its size and the pain was getting worse the very kind x-ray tech got me a warm compress and quickly took me back to get the nurse to remove it. She was on her phone when we returned and I explained the pain I was in. I was a little short with her due to the fact that she was staring at her phone and moving like a turtle. Once she came into the room she said that my vein blew but the IV was fine. I apologized for being short with her and begged her to take it out. She said it was fine and that her shift was ending so she was moving me to another room. At this point I jad been there for about 3 hours. Once the new nurse came in a half an hour later she immediately took my IV out and couldn't believe the other nurse didn't, fluids we're ordered for me and an antibiotic due to my UTI, and kidney infection that they discovered but again the previous nurse didn't administer them to me probably because of the IV situation that she was to lazy to do again. After 6 long hours the Dr. Came in and told me there was nothing wrong and to flollow up with my primary, again I came in for shortness of breath and was told to follow up with my primary? I was prescribed an inhaler, steroid, and antibiotic you would think the Dr. Would go over those things with you but he didn't. I know people have bad days and maybe that was the case with the nurse and Dr. But everytime I have been to this hospital there have been issues. Sorry for the novel but if you have an option of going to another hospital I strongly advise to do so.
Not sure if my last post was posted, if it was i sincerely apologize. That was for mease countryside hospital not this hospital. I was seen at LMC back in November and they were amazing. I would 100% recommend this hospital to anyone
I was very satisfied with my visit to the ER, the entire staff was very friendly, respectful, and attentive to my needs. The facility was very clean. My case was expedited quickly, no long waiting time. The x-ray tech was thorough and easily understood. The PA was professional and directed the proper and helpful care, as well as executing a follow up referral that they assisted in making sure I understood what I needed to do; as well as sending me an email with the information. The nurse was extremely nice, friendly and professional, especially when she gave me a shot. Thank you all at Largo Medical Center, Gulf to Bay Blvd !!!
Don't bring money in there with you. My grandfather's things were moved while he was asleep. $40 gone from his wallet when he checked because he thought it was odd his things were moved.
My mom went to the ER with a UTI then was admitted into the hospital and later found out she didn't have a UTI but had a TIA and a blood clod was found at the based of her skull. She was on the third floor and on Friday, Saturday, Sunday she has the same nurse name Ira who was so rude with her and my mom when and sign herself out of the hospital which she shouldn't have done so. My mistake of taking her there to begin with. BEWARE, if you ever go to Largo hospital, I hope you don't get Ira as your nurse. Never again will I take my mom to Largo hospital.
Not sure what people who give a negative rating are talking about. Everyone is very attentive and pleasant.
I went to the ER for chest pain, the Dr was in my room within 5 minutes. They kept me for observation and ran tests that no other hospital had ever done. I felt like they REALLY cared.
It is always difficult as a healthcare worker when you find yourself on the other side needing the care you privileged to provide each day. The ER staff was amazing. I want to give a personal thank you to Patti Squires, who lives the mission of HCA. She went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and okay. I am so sorry I cannot remember the male nurse who cared for me but he was amazing. Thank you to Lisa Tzanakis for coming to sit with me for she knew I had no family near. All were simply amazing. I also want to than all the leaders who took time out of there busy day to also make sure I was okay, Adam Rudd, Amy Russell, Wyatt Chocklett and Jeff Bush! I am honored to be a part of such an amazing team. I must also thank the Pharmacy team for their support and prayers.
Love Dr. Todd and the fact that most of my specialists are in the same location. The doctors and the physician assistants always take the time to listen and address any concerns. Even the Quest lab here is great!
If I'm dying in the future... Keep driving, take me to a vet or even directly to the cemetery- but NOT this place. Don't know where to start nor do I wanna waste the energy taking myself to that dark place
If you can think about what you could comment on in a hospital they fell short of doing it- everything from waiting HOURS for food and the lack of bedside manner to not changing bandages/IVs and OOPS forgetting medicine.
~Ya'll need to go back to school. LoL
Good riddance~
Very little wait time. Staff was friendly, respectful and knowledgeable! I was here for an outpatient surgery and highly recommend this facility for the way I was treated; and the care I received was excellent post surgery too!
DO NOT GO THERE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF UNTIL YOU DIE!!! I went there with a cold, the doctor took 30 seconds to see me, they give me a couple of pills (that I went to buy to the Walgreens) and now I got a bill for $1,990.00. Went I first stepped in, I insisted to know how much the services will be. They told me do not worry, do not worry... your insurance will cover it. I asked several times and same answer.
While visiting my pulmonologist across the street from Largo Medical Center, he ordered lab work and x-rays and gave me the paperwork and asked me to go to Largo to get the tests done. I showed up at registration to get the tests and because I didn't have a reservation, it took about 15 minutes to get it approved to have the tests done. Once I got past registration, lab and radiology was awesome and very efficient.
I have been to the hospital several times major back surgery knee surgery in emergency room I have never had a bad experience they've accepted me without insurance and they've accepted me with insurance one of the best hospitals there is in Northern Pinellas County we actually have a friend there tonight that's get ready to go through heart surgery tomorrow and possibly back surgery after she heals up from nap and she is in a beautiful private room enjoying that fact unfortunately that she is there but none-the-less enjoying the amenities that this hospital has to offer
I was treated with respect. Everything was explained. The staff is excellent; friendly and cheerful. I was very impressed with my care here.
Excellent visit for a screening, short wait and Tech was extremely professional and nice.
Went in for my scheduled mammogram, not realizing I was 1/2 an hour early.
They moved me right in and I was done in 20 min. Everyone was very pleasant. Very professional and efficient.
I have to say, It was not great. A test that should have only taken 2 1/5 hours took 3 1/2 when patients came and went in a timely fashion; 10 to 20 min.. The test was only a 5 min test and go. As a 30 yr. transplant patient, I am a disappointed. They could do better.
The staff and everyone were so friendly. I was confused as to why they were doing numerous tests on me that did not pertain to my illness and symptoms. They kept checking my blood sugar levels every4 hours even though I don t have diabetes or never had. However, they did a blood culture and I have yet to find out the results and it seems that no one kNews who has them. I have Checked the patient portal several times.
My mom was a patient here for 5 days, this place is horrible
My visit was great,I came in to have a mammogram done and everyone from the check In to check out, couldn't be more accommodating, will definitely drive from Tarpon Springs to Largo for my next mammogram.
Very arrogant staff and the er doctor was absolutely an ass and very cocky. Needed MRI done. Nurse put an IV port in arm for what reason still unknown. Unnecessary testing and iv ports for no reason. Very long waiting to have testing. Testing was the quickest. Took sooo long for whatever idiots to read report. Told staff I was signing out AMA and low and behold test results were ready. Thought the arrogant Dr would help me feel better but left there with a referral to a doctor. 6 hrs of time and thousands of dollars later for hat I already knew was wrong. Needless to say I will be wanting an itemized bill and will be crossing off the unnecessary things and then will be paying $5 month til it's paid off. Worst ER I've ever been to!! Never would recommend nor will they ever seems again! Go somewhere else if you want help. Hopefully you'll have nicer staff too.
Very pleased with the services in the emergency room. Very pleased with staff on the second floor
Terrible place. I arrived having a pain that did not allow me to sit or stand for long. After more than two hours of waiting I had to leave because I could not bear the pain any more They were never kind enough to tell me unless they didn't have a bed available or something. Immediate attention is decisive for life or death. I decide move to another emergency hospital called Advent Health and it was just the opposite, a friendly treatment and in less than ten minutes they were already performing emergency tests.
worst experience in a hospital ever. My best advice for anyone going there is to take SOMEONE WIth you during your entire stay. The response time for a nurse averages 20 minutes and after a 3 day stay it has NOT gotten better. I will say that the male nurses seem to love their job and they WORK. The female nursing staff is so loud that I have had to shut the door at least 3 times to drown out their "laughter and fun". The room faces west and reached 85 degrees. Several complaints finally got window blinds fixed (they were busted) but the direct heat in the afternoon in FL is a real problem. We mentioned our dissatisfaction with the surgeon but I don't really think he wants to hear negativity about his hospital. In the future.... if I have a choice... it will NOT be at Largo. The nurses will say they are "overworked" and "understaffed". I don't think this is true. They lack professionalism and seem extremely unorganized. BEWARE of the response time. This is a CRITICAL ISSUE.... this was my experience and many others seem to feel the same way that I have spoken to. Diane G.... January, 2014
Some of my personal items were lost in surgery, never replaced, the first nurse I had was a little too hyper for normal behavior, all of my surgical records were sent to the wrong MD after I corrected the issue in registration, and I was poked in the right wrist during surgery when I specifically asked not to be because I have pain in my right thumb.
The nursing staff from surgery to the floor, from start to finish was amazing. I do feel that there should a unit dedicated to bariatric surgery. Thanks to Ryan in recovery. Charge nurses were amazing as well. Gene and Jenea
Staff are very professionals and really concern about your state of health.
Compassionate in care to make you
Well. Koodos to Dr. Kreskin and her staff in ER
All the nurses were super friendly and helpful.
Their communication and information was very good and helpful. Also, they brought my wife a great breakfast after her procedure early in the morning! .Everything was on time and proceeded very smoothly
I was very satisfied with everyone who helped me. They were informative and helpful. Thank you again
I wasn't very impressed with this hospital. My fiance was admitted to this hospital for four days. they tried to send him home in the emergency room even though he was in so much pain till he couldn't tolerate it. When he got up stairs 3rd floor, C unit... some of the nurses were good RN Camila, RN Emily and RN Danielle they are awesome. We had some good CNA's Zenobia in Ebony. On the other hand RN Julia is not a welcoming person oh, she has zero personality and she doesn't crack a smile... Tyrone the CNA was not good... Upon this charge my fiance still wasn't feeling well and they sent him home. The doctors didn't come in and give any instructions or say anything the rude nurse Julia came in and gave us discharge papers.
The staff were very kind and supportive, very efficient and knowledgeable. Made my stay as comfortable as possible under the situation.
This was the best clinic I have ever gone to. The help was fast, thorough and full of compassion. Would reccommend to anyone
I ALWAYS go to Largo Medical Center. They're very thorough knowledgeable staff...super clean, great food....I had An emergency a couple of weeks ago and was told to go to another hospital.....25 miles from my Dr office and I have no transportation....l gladly spent my last $30.00 just to get to my largo medical center by cab. I got the absolute best care as ALWAYS.
My entire visit was great. Treated well, efficiently.
Great nurses, clean, were always there to answer questions etc. I'd have surgery there again.
I love the Breast Institute for mammograms. Serene, peaceful, always professional. Always feel comfortable there. I do NOT like the new procedure of having to check in through hospital admitting area. I should not have to be exposed to people coughing, spreading sick germs, just to go have a mammogram. Go back to the way it was, please. Where the BI people handled everything there.
My sister and mother came in for a kidney transplant. My mother the donor and my sister the recipient. First things first; we come in and my sister had a double chart created for her which caused information to be lost and test to be repeated. My mother and sister s blood work session was more like a blood bash as the nurses were trying to find a vein to draw blood from. Then my mother goes down to surgery and comes back out and no one calls us to let us know. Little did we know they were trying to cover up how bad her blood work came out after the surgery. My mother was shivering, had a fever and was in a lot of pain. The nurse had absolutely no idea what to do or what was going on - she was completely clueless. After 30 minutes of not knowing what to do her surgeon comes in and makes the decision to place her in the ICU. Let s talk about the ICU nurses. ARROGANT, RUDE AND PLAIN DISGUSTING. We come in and my mother is in need of assistance and no one comes in to help. Nurses were all focused on eating candy from their little red gift bag instead of assisting their patients and when asked to help were giving the patient and the patient s family attitude. My mother has had a fever now since 2pm and it is now 11pm - the nurse has come in twice to check up on her. My sister has had a blood pressure of 199/90 since she got out of the surgery with a new kidney (which I m no doctor but anyone with common sense would know that it could damage the new organ) but no, not to the nurses they could care less. Red gift candy bag was a lot more important. Needless to say if you want to come out alive AVOID THIS HOSPITAL.
A recent Emergency Room visit to Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida made me more aware than ever of the high quality of service given by their staff to a patient truly in need of medical assistance.
From the very entrance into the facility to the quick way one is checked in and taken back for immediate assistance is a great way to experience true and compassionate care.
Never left in the dark but given an explanation for everything which is taking place is a reassurance for a patient of the quality of their care. The thoroughness of the Medical Staff in exploration of every possible solution available to solve their immediate crisis is so reassuring to one s tormented mind as to what could be wrong.
Finally not being dismissed until the crisis has passed and a plan of action has been laid in place for medical follow up with other Doctors in the immediate future is such a relief to one's mental stability.
My congratulations to the Emergency Staff of the well run Largo Medical Center. You can be assured when future needs occur it is they who will be sought out first and foremost for a solution to an emergency problem.
This place is K-Mart service at Tiffanys prices, go here if you'd like to get ripped off and treated like a skid row bum. This is the worst hospital I have ever visited. They want 22K for 13 stitches. I called patient accounts and asked for a detailed bill and they said that they would send one. Four weeks later, I still haven't received it. Largo Medical Center is a prime example of what is wrong with our health care system in America.
Their medical assistants and nurses are rude, and in the ER you don't even see a doctor. If you need an ER, do yourself a favor and drive up to Morton Plant or to BayCare Bardmoor.
--- UPDATE ---
If the hospital was bad, their billing department is even worse. What a terrible facility. This organization is horrible from the top to the bottom and everywhere in between.
There is a reason why the locals call this place "Largo Dead".
Awesome staff excellent care....not that I want to go back but if I have to it will be my preferred hospital
Went to ER Thursday. As always was treated very well.Thank you
Excellent, Tremendous hospital! The transplant team is unmatched, the best of the best. I recommend the hospital 150%.
Jusr arrived, so far so good, checked in, awaiting treatment. We were out in 3 hours. Treated very well. Gave our Cdn insurance.card, and all was taken care of. I recommend it.
Easy parking, easy check-in, no wait for the doc, social distancing followed, very clean.
Emergency room.
I couldn't go in with my wife in the ambulance entrance, had to go to the main emergency room entrance.
That's a first for me.
With aging parents and aunts and unchles that's never, never happened.
I went to the main ER entrance, there was no one there.
No One!
A half dozen people wating for emergency service or waiting to see a love one and nobody there to talk to.
Get a receptionist, a person to talk to.
This is an "EMERGENCY " room.
People need to know they are being taken care of and there's someone in charge.
In this hospital if I manage to drive myself in with a serious issue like a deep cut, broken bone, or worse, I have to wait my turn while the "one" triage person on duty is signing in somebody with flue symptoms.
I'll never go here in an emergency if I have a say in it.
Staff was great when we got in, management needs to wake up to proper management of they're "Emergency " room.
Took my son here for a cough as they were one of the few clinics available on a holiday. Eventually xrayed and Treated with steroids. Care was slow but attentive. Received several bills totalling about 4000 for my 3 hour visit.....for a cough! Would not recommend unless you have alot of money or a severe emergency. Decent care but only 2 stars for the excessive billing.
the doctors in the ER were great, and very professional!!!
Went in at 3:30. Was seen at 3:35. Staff was awesome. The dr was great. But the billing clerk wasnt friendly. But other than that it was a great experience. ..
Great, attentive staff, everyone is courteous. Scheduling is a little off but understandable.
it was the worst ever going to that hospital! I am pregnant and was bleeding and in pain and my legs were numb. I sat there for so long while the waiting room was empty. there was one person in front of me that was waiting to get his methadone fix and he was seen before me. I felt like my life or babies life did not matter. I then walked out and received a call telling me to come back because they had a bed and as soon as I arrived I was informed that my spot was given to someone who needed it more than me. I will NEVER go to this hospital again. and once I received my paper work it had incorrect information which is why I don't trust hospitals!!!
My Father went into this hospital on July 5 with an infection and they sent him home before it was cleared up and he ended up in another hospital 24 hours later with other issues that they never mentioned to the family. The nurses are uninformed and unengaged in being helpful to the patient or the family. The Doctors come at crazy hours which make it difficult to talk to them. My father needed help with eating and they let the food sit for 45 minutes before they came to help him and by that time it is cold and nasty. Every time I went out of the room to ask a question of a medical personal they were all gone from the hallways. Had to find them every time. Don t take your love one there as they don t seem to care about the patient or their health.
Staff was very nice and tried to be helpful. But the night of the surgery I was in so much pain. I have had surgery before and it has never been like that. From 1 - 10, the pain was 9/10 all night long. The longest relief I got was about an hour and a half. The lack of ability to attend to my pain was completely unacceptable. I was told my doctor was contacted, but when I confronted him, he knew nothing about it. Just because of the lack of pain management I would never go back.
