My daughter was in a bus accident and I brought her here from the scene and we where ignored and placed into a hallway to wait the place smelled like urine and poop there was blood on one of chairs in the waiting room. Homeless people walking around inside the triage. Older staff was extremely unfriendly and during sign in they make patients in the front read out your whole ssn. I heard 13 SSN with dob and full name just waiting for my daughter to be seen.

My experience in the emergency room was very good and complete. The nurse Larry is fantastic! As was all the people who are there to help you.
My only problem with the whole hospital is whether patient or visiting the parking and no other way to get inside is the LONG walk. I personally am unable to walk that far.

Largo Med. Ctr. is a well oiled machine . . .out-patient visits to any hospital are usually not the highlight of ones day, but Largo Med. has managed to make it ALMOST enjoyable . . .everything went off without a hitch, thanks to a group of devoted and focused professionals. Very impressive . .! !

I visited the ER two days ago (Friday) and was appalled by the treatment I received. I saw a lady who believed she was having a heart attack and was told to have a seat. She did not seem to be given priority treatment. I was not asked about the medications I am taking during my entire visit. The nurse was very nice and funny but seemed overwhelmed and did not review my care plan at home with me. There was a fly buzzing around my bleeding leg in the waiting room. It was very disappointing and I am at least glad it was not a life threatening emergency for me.

It took 48 hrs to see a dr. After calling my reg. physician, I saw a dr who gave me the wrong meds. Then for three days I was woken up every hour on the hour for temperature, bp, mess to put me to sleep (I was sleeping) on and on.DONT COME HERE!

I am blind. The staff here were very accomodating to my blindness by making it a point to keep me informed about what was happening as it related to my care and preparation for the procedure I was about to undergo. This doesn't happen very often, even in other medical practices, very refreshing and very much appreciated. It made the whole experience a very pleasant one.

My Mother was recently at Largo Medical Center for a couple of weeks. Her nurses were amazing!!!!! I always want to make sure that the good news is reported! It's always easy for people to complain about a bad experience. The communication between the nurses and Dr's was so very helpful for my Mom to understand what was going on with her health. Highly recommend this hospital!

I will received excellent care well by 60 stay in Largo Medical. The staff took very good care of me. They were knowledgeable and friendly. They were proactive and professional. They made sure I have some receiving the proper treatment for my health issues. The only complaint I have is about the TV service. You have so many sports channels but nothing like up TV or Hallmark for women. I would recommend Largo Medical to anyone.

We had a very positive experience at Largo hospital. Every employee we came in contact with was very courteous and professional. The staff on 6th floor were amazing and very caring. Taylor and student nurse Lydia went above and beyond to care for our daughter Kendra. Taylor kept us informed on everything that was going on. All the physicians that saw Kendra were helpful and concerned. Dr Obi is amazing and did everything possible to figure out why she was so ill. We would highly recommend Largo Hospital!

The nurse and all the other stuff was nice and helpful. On the other side, doctors were never responded on time. It took 24-28 hours for the doctor responds. There is a reason why you admit to a hospital, to have a professional stuff closer. Hope I'll never go to this hospital anymore.

Dr. Sonny, was the best Doctor I have ever met in my life. He pulled no punches with his words. I'm on health care myself & couldn't believe how professional this man was as well as his bed side manner. I will never, ever forget him. Thankful to have met him.

Treatment was eh but for a small emergency procedure with a pretty empty emergency room, treatment took way too long! The billing was the worst experience I've ever endured. You incorrectly billed me, I fixed it. Then you didn't submit the bill correctly to insurance and sent me to collection. I finally reached the point where my insurance provider and I were on a call together to fix the issue and the billing department redirected us to collections!!! My insurance provider couldn't help but laugh! Thanks for the countless hours I've had to spend it fixing your issues.

Then again, maybe I'm just spoiled because the Cleveland Clinic & University Hospitals are just astronomically above these sub standard practices...The credit and collections issue also caused my credit score to decrease and canceled my ability to purchase a rental property. So very jaded about the lack of professionalism and the billing process from Largo.

Poorly staffed. Poor housekeeping practices, room not cleaned, sheets not changed, gown not replaced. Nurses had insufficient knowledge. I many many requests for pain relief with no follow-up. Once procedure was y wife approved taken to OR and at that time advised piece of equipment was not available for 40 minutes. Never received or never used. My wife could not visit.

I went in Largo Med for a colonoscopy and was really surprised at my care. The nurses were very soothing and caring to help me through my procedure. I was impressed. The surgery crew were very nice. They made me as comfortable as was possible. Dr Nudell was the one that did my colonoscopy. He was also very sweet and kind. He let me know the results and he explained so I could understand.

My first wedding anniversary is in a few weeks, five days ago I took my husband here and found out he was in heart failure. Because of the doctors knowledge and skills he s going to be here for our first anniversary and for many more. Everyone here has taken great care of him and also genuinely cared about how I was holding up as well. They have helped us with everything including costs, aftercare and even help in finding missing flowers that my mom sent. The people who really outshined everyone are the nurses on the second floor. Every single one of them went above and beyond and in my opinion are all perfect examples of what professional, knowledgeable and most of all compassionate care givers should be. Recently having an extended stay in a hospital (not this one) I have first hand experience with what kind of care is out there and this is the best nursing staff I ve ever seen. They should all get raises.

I was very impressed with the facility, wait time and friendly staff! I am from Virginia Beach and was in the area visiting my daughter. I had severe pain in my foot with any weight. Diagnosed with Achilles Tendinitis and was given steroid pill pack and pain meds. Dr Sore and nurse Vikki were great highly recommended if you are in need of urgent care in the Largo area!!

My family and I were recently rear ended by a drunk driver and went to the 14th St. ER to get checked out. My wife, youngest daughter, and I were quickly ushered into the treatment rooms and each of us were thoroughly checked out, including xrays, and in my wife's case an a CAT Scan because of recent Brain Surgery she had just to make sure there were no complication. Everyone was wonderful, attentive, and exceptionally compassionate. Thank you so much for treating my family like your family!

Wow, I dont think I have ever heard so many bad reviews regarding hospital staff, this is an awful scary thing. I indeed was considering scheduling an appointment for some stomach issues I am experiencing however I thnk at this point it would be wise of me to extend my search further, for word of mouth and personal experiences is something I look forward to hearing when it comes to hospitals and health so Thank you all for your experience and feed back. Also my rating review comes from what Ive read, not that I have visited your facility.

Went in for new onset of Atrial Fibrillation. Could not have been treated better from the doctors, nurses, techs, etc. I see a lot of 1 star reviews and after reading them I realize that most people have no idea how healthcare works. They seem to think it works like an Olive Garden restaurant.

I recently had surgery! I have to commend everyone involved! From Oct. 29th when I had my Covid-19 test! Excellent nurse! The whole process and cleanliness was perfect. Being admitted on Oct. 30th was a breeze and the admissions area perfect, the staff exceeded my expectations! Then to the prep area for surgery! It was the best by far to date for any of my surgeries! Everyone calmed my nerves, kept reassuring me and even made it fun and light with laughter! Nurses, surgeon, anesthesiologist, and OR Techs were the best team ever! Please keep doing what your doing. As a patient we are extremely nervous and your knowledge and kindness goes a long way!
Thank you and your all APPRECIATED!!!

Unfortunately, the retreat, is nothing more than a mismanaged prison for those who need the most help. Medications were missed or double dosed, groups werent held, no one or one therapy, and the "high functioning" ward was full of catatonic patients receiving ECT treatments. I have been to many facilities from FL to VA to WV, none were as mismanaged and uncompassionate as this one. I got out as soon as possible as they were doing more damage bt messing the my medication which was just stablized at another facility. If you need mental health treatment, do NOT go to largo. There are better options. Dont give up hope.

The nurses and staff are absolutely amazing. I have a lot of conditions and they are very accommodating to my needs. There were a few little hiccups but they were resolved and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely come back should I need another hospitalization. Special thanks to the charge nurses Kristi, Cerelyn and Elizabeth, nurse Donna, nurse Julia, nurse Farah, and Dr. Hunter. I am already more hopeful that I will have a better quality of life. Thank you!

This place is totally understaffed. Need a doc asap, good luck. Floor nurse completely unprepared to give a father, in person, an update on son's condition and the medical game plan. Phone calls to front desk end up 50% of the time going to a voice mail. Head nurse was a total B. Security guy had no problem hanging at the front door carrying on a complaining conversation with the Covid screener peppered with the Fbombs for all to hear. A total non professional that fits the m.o. of the whole place. If time permits head elsewhere. Sad, really sad!

Great facility. I had a outpatient procedure done. The hospital was clean. The nurses were exceptional, especially Crystal.
I would highly recommend Largo Med. I would not have in the past. Something has definitely changed for the good.

I had a very positive experience for my recent partial knee replacement surgery. Dr Hayter prepared me well and did his excellent work with my knee repair and replacement. The entire outpatient team was professional and reassuring. Vicky even got my IV started without pain or bruising not easy with my rolling veins. The pre-surgery meeting and with Anaesthesia (Richard) was crucial to the success of the procedure. My husband and I knew what to expect, and all our questions were answered. I had a spinal (first time), with a leg nerve block, and propofol, and went home with a pump above the knee releasing a numbing drug. I woke up from the
surgery clear-headed (thank you! Dr Andrew Z and Kirsten! and Pat and All!) and my time in recovery was as expected. I was not nauseous or dizzy or difficult to wake up, as has happened with me in the past. The private room for recovery is an added plus. Everything from the first pre-op calls from AnnMarie to Robin s session (also no bruising!) to the Anaesthesia Meeting (a must!) to our arrival, the surgery, and departure was as planned. I would recommend Largo Medical Center without reservation.

Checked mom in with a respiratory issue; she was talking and moving with ease. Following morning she coded, turns out, the medicine they prescribed had a metabolic reaction with her current meds. We provided an updated med list upon arrival and uptake process. Never made into the system until after the fact, they used three year old data to treat her, common sense for a person in their 80's would be to question an outdated profile. She eventually ended up in a much better hospital Mease Countryside; there, the physicians were confident she could be cathed with success as opposed to Largo Med where, the Cardiologist, her cardiologist of several years
and on the Largo Med board, why we took her there, didn't give her much of chance of surviving heart chatheterization. Stay Away from this Hospital!!!!!

Excellent care combined with genuine compassion - I consider myself fortunate to have such high quality service when I need it most. Thank you to the staff, especially nurses Mark and Mark, and the doctors.

I wish I could give these people less than a star. They are very unprofessional and rude. The communication between the staff doesn't exist. Waited three hours to be "forgotten about" ended up leaving and driving out of the way to a different emergency room and we we're actually taken care of. It's medical practices like this establishment that give this state a bad mirror on healthcare.

Got me in fast and easy and got me medicine immediately, treated me for Bronchitis and I couldn't breathe. Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. Would refer them to anyone! Might be the best I've ever been treated at a hospital before.

I feel the care I received was excellent. Everyone was professional and answered all my questions. They seemed to truly care about my health and recovery. The food was surprisingly good...each and every meal was different and tasty. Something to look forward to when in a hospital bed.

There was a lot of miscommunication and lack of communication between the staff and myself. Due to COVID-19, the hospital employees are overworked and understaffed. In the end, I am satisfied with my visit. After talking to my nurses and explained my feelings, they were very understanding. I have been here several times before and this is the first time I have a complaint.

My Dr doing the surgery went great there BUT the post care from the nursing staff was by far the worst medical experience I have ever had. They would let hours and I mean hours go by without checking on you. If you need to go-to restroom while your there plan on unplugging your IV unit from the wall and going yourself.

All the staff from nurses, drs, security, food service, and environmental service were absolutely fantastic! I was treated with respect! They listened to my Needs! I never felt alone or neglected! I will return everytime I need medical care!

The entire staff was very caring and professional my nurse was amazing. It was a very crazy day there and even under pressure she kept her cool got her job done and managed to keep the atmosphere light hearted. She was a treasure.

The nurses and doctors were wonderful.

Disappointed in Dirty linen and food trays just staying in rooms or in hallways for long extended times. Trash baskets overflowing.
Hallways full of computer stations because evidently there isn t a nurses station on the 4th floor?? The hallway was so congested with the computer stations and food carts and other items that heaven forbid they ever had to evacuate.

I don t mean to be overly critical because the healthcare was good. Just felt it was very disorganized and consequently made you wonder about cleanliness.

Very professional emergency room staff from check in personnel, nurses and doctors. Doctor David Ryan was exceptionally thorough and kind. Largo needs to STOP having patient access come around to ask for payment while you re being seen by medical staff. This is unprofessional and insensitive.

Great staff! Made everything great for pre-surgery....4 hour wait time kept us informed throughout and Deborah was AMAZING during long recovery before leaving 13 hours after checking in. Her patience and positive attitude made the long day seem so much better. Recommend highly to all!!

Whoever answers the phone there isn t very pleasant. The ladies that speak to you over the phone are very belittling. They make you feel like a moron and are extremely unprofessional. Same as the ladies that work in the triage. Very condescending and rude. I wouldn t recommend this hospital to anybody. If I could review zero stars I would.

I had outpatient surgery. Upon arrival, after hand sanitizing and a new mask, I was escorted to ambulatory surgery. Everyone was very friendly and professional. I was allowed to have my spouse with me, which was comforting while I waited. My only complaint was the wait - I had to be thereby 9:30 am but didn't go to surgery until after 12 noon. In surgery holding and recovery, the staff were very informative and attentive. After recovery, I went to ambulatory surgery again until I was fully awake and able to meet discharge criteria. Again, the staff was informative and attentive. I was discharged at approx 4:30 pm and went home. I was called the next day yo see how I was doing. All in all, a very positive experience. Thank you!

I previously gave LMC 5 stars, having had numerous great experiences here (shout out to Dr Leimbacher and every single nurse or paramedic I have encountered! Apologies for your colleague dragging your impeccable service down so incredibly, yet it must be made available to those interested and she has single-handedly caused me enough concern of re-encountering her in another serious situation and suffering for that reason without any possible means of avoidance). I can't retain that 5-star rating, however, because of one Dr Nadia Abrahamsen... What a total failure of a Physician! Dragging down a fantastic facility by neglecting to obey her oath and even boldface lying (displaying both a lack of confidence in her opinion, dishonesty and lack of integrity crucial to the job she does and, further, doubt in her own opinion having knowing that her performance was unquestionably abysmal in her respective practice and position).

Here is the story for all who are interested and concerned:

I went in for considerable pain in my lower back just after completing another round of chemo. After hardly reviewing my symptoms and doing no more than pressing on the location with her fingers she ordered only a painful x-ray and then upon returning from Radiology, gave me the 3rd degree on my Rxs & cancer - seemingly in disbelief of one or both. Finding nothing in the x-ray she neglected to even consider further problems, even the most obvious of possibilities, according to my Oncologist AND a Hematologist and then she proceeded to lie to me about the legalities of prescribing anything stating that because I have multiple doctors already treating me it would "jeopardize her license", which I have confirmed to be totally false. Had she done her job in diagbosing or ruling out any and all potential emergent problems she'd have next ordered an ultrasound. My Oncologist did an ultrasound 3 days later as it had only worsened (both legs had swollen and the pain both intensified and spread to my abdomen and groin) & very quickly (upon the first push of a finger to send blood into circulation, actually) found a massive blood clot (DVT) in my pelvis with a severe risk of breaking off and causing Pulmonary Embolism having then festered for so long under false belief that I had ruled serious problems out at LMC - this could have been potentially deadly had it happened!

The fact is that the location of the pain is actually a VERY common symptom of a pelvic blood clot. Therefore, her unbelievable arrogance & lack of care put me at SERIOUS and wholly unnecessary risk of far bigger and more severe problems, to include DEATH, terrifyingly enough. The whole purpose of the Emergency Room is TO rule out or diagnose such severe problems and yet, to Dr Abrahamsen, the entire exam was about prescriptions - I wonder who REALLY has a problem with prescription abuse, given her one-track logic...

LMC is a great facility so long as you don't have the misfortune of drawing Dr Abrahamsen, which unfortunately is beyond your control. Her lack of character, professionalism and ignorance has caused me harm, and very well could have been severe! DVT is made even more likely by my inactivity and atrophied condition coming out of chemo yet again.

If they place you under the care of Nadia Abrahamsen I HIGHLY recommend discharging and heading to another nearby Emergency Room, seriously. If she can be this ignorant and outright rude then she can and will (likely HAS) do serious and irreparable damage via neglect of basic diagnostic protocol.

The staff were friendly and efficient. It would have been most helpful to know that it is NOT a "walk in" clinic. The difference in the cost was $440 More than I anticipated paying, yikes! A bit of a hard lesson learned but I was grateful still for the positive experience!

My wife, Ana Simmers, was at LMC for outpatient surgery on Nov. 17th. and she was treated in an excellent manner by the insurance personnel, the nurses, the surgeon: Dr. Matthew Reynolds, and the anesthesiologist. It was an easy stay without any complications. We thank God and all those involved at LMC for the good outcome. Both Ana and I, are so grateful for the outstanding care. God bless you all.

The nursing staff was wonderful. So were the CT staff.
The x-ray staff was another story. They didn't like the fact that I had my service dog with me even though I also had a friend with me to handle the dog; one of them actually scowled at the dog and asked if he was going to bite her. They were very harsh, especially Miss Rita. They were rough when helping me change positions, even trying to use my injured arm to pull me into another position on the table. They knew that I had a head injury, an injured back, shoulder, arm, and foot, and yet they were impatient and rude when I was unable to quickly move into a new position on the table. I had to tell them multiple times to just let my dog do his job and help me. At that point, Miss Rita made a couple of rude remarks, like how that was going to make things more difficult for them, when in reality, it made things easier. My friend told me later that Miss Rita made several rude comments behind the wall that I couldn't hear.
I have always liked Largo Medical Center, but I sincerely hope I never have to encounter these x-ray techs again. They don't seem to understand or care that people are there because they're injured and in pain.
I would rate this visit with 1 star because of these technicians, but I don't want to take away from the other staff and the center as a whole.
