Great place for a walk or fly fishing. Great for kiddos as well. Sometimes if I don't want to work in the office I will work here since it has full Verizon LTE reception in the picnic area.
My favorite place to unwind with my husband and our youngins. Thank you lord for such a beautiful and calm place. I hate the stench of smokers that mess up our zen time away from the damn city and nature itself.
Great little trail to mountain bike, hike, take the dogs out or go have a picnic. There is a mandatory water crossing or two depending on the season
Very close to Denver and our dogs really enjoy the shade and river.
Wear your water shoes and get refreshed in the creek!
I Really like this place, you can find some really nice secluded picnic areas been going here since I was a kid.
Great spot for a day hike right outside of Denver. Lots of fairly easy, wooded trails with rewarding views. Parking lot is fairly large.
Nice trails that are well maintained and with a variety of difficulty levels thete should be so.ething for everyone.
This is a great place to hike, picnic and chill by the river. There are a couple different trails and some pretty views. This park does get pretty crowded and you need to watch out for the bikers. Overall a really fun place for the whole family
Soooo pretty!!! Good flow and some good lung burning climbs
Easy hike options that are great for kids. Lots of places to stop and throw rocks in the water (a toddlers dream). Pretty views. Easy to get to. Lots of picnic tables near parking area. I give three stars because it's always crowded. If you get there after 9 on a weekend, you won't find parking.
This area is great for short walks or hiking into the mountains. The main walkway is 1-1/3 mile and parallels Bear Creek heading West. It takes you buy an old Castle and some beautiful scenery. We enjoy bringing our dogs, and they love getting into the water for a swim. Very relaxed park, trail shared with bicyclists, so watch your back as sometimes they don't let you know their behind you. Most often they are very courteous. Only one area not far from the start, where trail is very narrow and twisted so you have to watch out for others coming in the other direction.
The kids loved this park and so did we my husband and I
Absolutely gorgeous area!! Walk up river access, trails, sunny and shady areas, picnic tables and benches. Friendly people out enjoying themselves. If you love river rocks this is a great spot. Parking is kind of limited.
Great trail to hike, bike and to take a swim. Bring your furry friends for sure!
Great for anything family related, picnic, grill, walking, jogging, biking. It could use a better parking lot.
Pretty place but busy even on a weekday. The river was nice to cool off in. Lots of small school groups.
One of my close to home go-to's with or without the pups!
We saw many large groups that brought their own tables, grills, and chairs. I don't think that it was within the park rules to bring a grill; however, the park rangers didn't police it. They seemed to be on the look out for more egregious offenses.A parking space (the parking lot was completely full and we had to circle it a couple times for someone else to leave).
Nice easy hike for small children. The path was pretty even and flat. My boys loved all the inlets to the creek, where they could play. We went early in the morning and there was moderate traffic on the trail. The parking lot was a decent size.
Light and easy hikes available. More intense, longer, higher altitude hikes also available. But the best part is just hanging in the river
I hiked this trail in later November in about 27 degree weather and I would do it all over again. All of the trail is flat and very family friendly, theres a small creek with stepping stones across but its very easy to navigate. HOWEVER, the only thing I wished I wouldve known is that when the flat trail 'ends', it actually continues up the mountain for another 7+ miles. I actually hiked up as far as I could but it became too Icy and I went back down. If youre brave enough to go up, fair warning, its steep, but breathtaking views and gorgeous mountain terrain. I was fortunate enough to see everything with a dusting of snow, which made it even more beautiful. The hidden castle around the bend was a cool find too
Loved it! Well marked trails and beautiful scenery!
A very small park as far as CO goes. It s a very nice spot to take a dog, less traffic, just as beautiful. The hikes are pretty short though, less than 10 miles.
Beautiful trail. Not strenuous, great for the beginner hiker or kids. You're sharing with bikes, however, so be mindful of that. We didn't fish, but other people there said the fishing is great. Highly recommend.
This was a great easy hike on the trail. Could not park as it was full by 9 am. Trail was very busy with hikers and bicyclists. Trail was well kept and clean.
Great variety of trails near a fast and clean river, and easy escape into a fast climbing area outside the JeffCo open space
The hike on Bruin Trail wasn't as challenging as I hoped. Rated moderate, I would classify it as fairly easy. It's not as even as Bear Creek Trail on which someone with mobility issues can enjoy themselves. No, Bruin Trail is good for actual beginning hikers. This stretch of Bear Creek Trail is more a walking trail. Cyclists can enjoy the trails for getting in some mileage, too. Kids could be seen enjoying various spots along the creek.
I work for Poop In A Group based in Denver and today my boss and I took some dogs on a field trip to this hiking trail. It was a bit icy, but still fairly easy to trek and we all had a great day.
This place is ridiculously cool with great climbing trees for the kids! Beautiful scenery and close enough to Denver for a day trip. Weekends get pretty packed so plan to arrive early. The river runs along/inside the park. Plan to bring a towel or two... Splashing around and getting your feet wet is part of the fun! Great walking trails for all endurance levels.
One my favorite parks to hike and decently close to Denver
Great place to hike. Getting a little crowded though.
easy access, but can be crowded. nice easy trails with good scenery
Good....bathrooms were a little dirty. This place used to be a lot more fun years ago....now you can barely park....but its getting that way every where now a days.
Beautiful place to hike, and take refuge in the shade listening to the sound of the river always accompanied by the high mountains of huge rocks. Divine place.
Amazing nice little trail for those not wanting to hike 14'ers.great pine scented air.private castle at bottom by creek.
One of the best hikes easily accessible from Denver. Great flat areas for families, as well as more intense hiking.
Nice hiking and some good picnic areas. Trails are very well cared for.
Everything is beautiful, the parking lot gets very full before 11am however.
Nice and clean average relatively flat park adjacent to a stream. Little trashy, several pieces picked up here and there but mostly clean. Parking, sun exposure and dust are all issues to consider.
A nice place for a picnic but there are much better places for a hike.
So fun! Lots of places to play in the creek without walking too far so we didnt have to be next to other families and could socially distance. Wear your swimsuit for playing in the water but bring tennis shoes for climbing the trees.
Fun easy lil hike. Doggie friendly and wear your mask. Leashes required too!
Parking is awful! Be prepared to drop off your party and park up on the the side of the main road. Other than that, it's a pretty good set of trails for toddlers to to hike. Super flat with some good spots to wade into shallow water. You're welcome for an actually useful review.
Lovely hike along the creek, not too far from Denver. Great any time of year!
Great blue/black trail for bikers. It can get very busy on the weekend between bikers and hikers. It is a long ride but with a great mix of technical features and flowey sections.
We have a baby and it is a great place to go hiking with her! After we finish hiking here we usually go to Switchback Smokehouse for lunch!
Quick and easy paths to follow! Great for families. Hiking, fishing, biking, photography, and birdwatching all easy tyo accomplish here. Take a picnic here. Pack in and pack out, enjoy a great day.
Although only 15 minutes drive from the Red Rocks park, this great place ideal for hiking, cycling, and picnic remains unknown to most visitors. We were lucky to capture the last beautiful autumn scenery along the Creek Side Loop trail before a first snow comes. Above all the park is free of charge.
Wonderful scenery, and trails that are great for easy family hiking. We did a couple of easy miles with our five-year-old today. Will definitely be back.
Great mountain park close to the city. Downside is that it is heavily used do to that fact. Some trails are shared with mountain bike traffic, but there are also dedicated hiking trails. There are easy trails that are great for younger children, and also more difficult trails good for bigger kids. Many places to have a picnic close to the parking lot.
Great for kids and adults who don't want a difficult hike but want to get close to nature. Plenty of spots to wade in the creek. Lots of areas for dogs to cool off. Partially shaded trail, lots of pine trees so pause and soak in the smells.
