THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! Brought my vehicle in to have the Pistons checked and they had it for 2 weeks, ran through all my gas, cracked my grill and didn't fix the issue. When I brought it in the second time to have them fix the crack and pistons they said it would be a day. Week later I had to call looking for my vehicle. It was done and sitting there. Every time I call, I can never get ahold of someone. Its phone tag and rude customer service. Don't ever buy a car or have your vehicle serviced with Kolar.

This past week my Father brought his Chevy Traverse to their service center. That was a poor decision. By the time he drove the two miles home, the vehicle was leaking oil. I don't expect them to make it up to him either. The last time I had an issue, I spoke with the manager and he said he would talk to the mechanic that worked on my vehicle and get back to me. I'm still waiting on that call back. This service center has provided inadequate serivice and lied, I caution others to take their business elsewhere.

I drove my car home from Kolar Chevrolet, as I pulled in my driveway the check engine light came on. The first thing I did: shut the car off, checked the gas cap, turned the car back on. I drove it back to Kolar. It was about 7 pm so they had no service technician. The sales manager I spoke with promised Kolar would take care of it. I filled up the car the next day and turned the gas cap super tight. The enine light has been on for four days and each day, no response from Kolar. I have contacted Kolar a total of four times. No body there cares. Remember, once they get your money, you get Kolar. This mean you get nothing from Kolar.

I've always received top-notch service from Kolar, whether it's purchasing a vehicle or maintaining it. We always buy the lifetime oil change program and I've been happy with the choice. Kolar has been great to my family over the years!

We have been taking my wife s traverse to Kolar for oil changes as a requirement for our extended warranty. I don t usually use dealerships due to previous negative experiences.

When we went in for our last oil change they said there were 2 hoses leaking and would need repair. We made an appointment for today and dropped the vehicle off last night. After getting the vehicle in hours after the scheduled time they advised us that nothing is wrong. Really?

I've been working with service rep Lori for a few years now. She has shown excellent customer service. She listens and investigates when you explain issues with your vehicle. If they can't find it they take a ride with you to try and experience it. The other dealerships (Toyota in Duluth) have just told me sorry, wait until its completely broken.

Also, the shuttle drivers (and most others my wife and I have been in contact with) have been so patient and helpful.

For these reasons alone my next car will likely be from this dealership.

Tom the salesman found me the perfect truck and was able to get to the price I was more then willing to pay (after researching exactly what I wanted and how much it was going for I knew it was a great deal!). Then when I accidently brought my truck in for its first oil change (a week earlier then I had scheduled) Dylan in the service department made some calls and was able to get the service done for me that day saving me a 2 hour drive!! I will definately be contacting Kolar for any future services/purchases!!

Craig and the others were fantastic! We were traveling and needed an emergency repair on our diesel truck, in order to get home. They worked us into a very busy schedule and had us on our way in just a couple hours. Everyone was very helpful and friendly!

Given 1 price on phone for 100k service, then when I show up for my appointment they tell me that the price quoted on the phone was an estimate and it may cost more and also that I should have the transmission flushed instead of just drained and filter replaced "flushing is not recommended by Chevy" I talked to 3 other local shops after cancelling the appointment and all told me that a flush was a bad idea that a first flush at 100k could do damage to the transmission. Also the service writer was very pushy trying to have me do this 250 dollar flush that is not recommended and could possibly damage my truck I will never take my vehicle to Kolar again. Also there prices are far higher than other reputable shops in the area. I saved over $300 by doing my service elsewhere and it was done right.

With the trade in of my 2014 Equinox LT; upgrading to my new 2016 Equinox LTZ, this makes the 4th vehicle we have purchased from Kolar Chevrolet and I wouldn't consider going to any other dealership or sales consultant than ours, Dave Speikers.
I had an electrical issue immediately. I called our sales consultant, Dave Speikers and he immediately called the service manager, John who had a service agent call us. We were fitted into an appointment the next work day which fit my schedule and as the vehicle needs a replacement system (that John is having overnighted) we were sent home in a rental at no cost to us.
My car should be ready tomorrow or the next day and they will call me to swap the rental for my new 2016 for pickup as soon as they are certain it is correctly fixed.

I was out of town and my Chevrolet Tahoe wouldn't start and was displaying multiple electronic errors on the dashboard. I called OnStar and they arranged for me to be towed to Kolar Chevrolet in Hermantown. Kolar was very busy that day and had a full list of vehicles scheduled for repair. Matt, the service tech I talked to, said he didn't know if they could get my truck in that day or not, but he would try. I told him I was stuck at my hotel for an extra day already and hoped they could at least see if the issue could be resolved as soon as possible. I was given a ride back to my hotel with Marty their shuttle driver. Marty gave me a card and said to call if the vehicle was done that day or in the morning and he would do everything he could to get me to the dealer so I wouldn't need to stay another day at the hotel. Fortunately Matt was able to get my vehicle in that afternoon. It was just a battery. They put in a new battery and everything tested fine after that. I called Marty and he was able to drive me back to Kolar before the end of the day. I couldn't be more happy with how Matt, Marty, and the Kolar repair staff handled my situation. If I ever need service in the Duluth area again, I know where I will go. Thanks again!

He answered all my questions, made sure I understood everything and made the buying process smooth and easy. I am VERY happy with my purchase and buying experience and will recommend Kolar to everyone.

Scheduled my work truck for maintenance, had a check engine light on. Kolar had me drop off at 11am on a friday, i had told them i needed truck back by monday am. I dropped truck off at 11 and they call me back at 4pm telling me they had "other things" come up and couldn't get to my truck. I asked if they were open saturday for service, yes they are, he said they couldn't guarantee they could get to it Saturday either. I drove back to kolar and picked the truck up. I work in a service industry as a troubleshooter and this was POOR service. Couldn't get to truck for a simple p0449 engine code. There used to be a choice of chevy/gmc dealers in duluth and now kolar is it. Too big for their britches i guess

If you are trying to buy a vehicle and you don t live in the area, don t bother with Kolar. Very poor communication, no follow up texts or calls. Gave a very clear message they had no interest in taking the time to sell us a vehicle.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. My Cadillac broke down in Duluth while visiting from the twin cities. I had it towed there thinking it was my best option to get it handled. When I talked to the service manager Monday mornin I was told they would get it right in and find the problem. Instead I spent 2 days trying to figure out what's wrong and they never even got it ran through a diagnostic. The money lost from a total of 3 days missed work would have more than payed for it to be towed back to the cities and get fixed right away by a competent dealership.

When I made the appointment i was told it would take 15 minutes and as of now I've been here an hour and a half. And still can't get answers as to how much longer it will take.

Almost every factory dealer I've used the service people were honest and would tell me everything my vehicle needs. These guys changed the oil and never told me about a "Very loose tie rod end" and "bad control arms" that was written on the service invoice. They stood and watched my wife drive away in this very dangerous car! Not only that but while waiting for a warranty part for WEEK my wife and I drove the car. Even after getting the warranty work done they said nothing. Needless to say I was furious. We could have wrecked or even worse been injured or killed and the service team just stood there and said nothing. NEVER AGAIN KOLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would avoid this dealer at all cost.

UPDATE: I just went down this list and realized that Kolar has shafted more that 2 dozen people in the last year. That should tell you all you need to know folks. I think Krenzen will service your GM vehicle and won't lie to you.

Time to update and keep people reading. It is to bad you turned out to be a typical "Hurray for me and the Hell with you " dealer, I need a new truck.

Had a oil change and they asked if I was satisfied with the Canyon. I said it sometimes going up a hill it will shift up,shift down then back up within seconds. They did a computer upgrade without telling me it would change my mileage .I now get just about 4 miles per gallon less which amounts to many dollars for the remainder of the life of the truck. It had 18000 miles on it. They said they could not reverse upgrade. Very disappointed in Kolar's service

I had a 9am waiting appointment for my 2018 Denali HD.Craig said the service needed would take 2-3 hours.I explained I needed my truck back by noon.He said no problem.Called at 11am and said they hadn't started on it yet and said they would start after lunch.I again explained I needed my truck back by lunch so to only do the basic service.Even if someone else qualified had to do it. I called at 1PM and he had to call me back to tell me they completed everything which was fine.I make appointments early so I get in right away because I need the truck throughout the day.All he had to do is tell me that right away and I would've rescheduled.HE'S A TIME WASTER! IT HAPPENS NEARLY EVERY VISIT. If I didn't have lifetime oil changes Kolar wouldn't have my business.This is also the 9th time I've gotten home and had a puddle of oil on my floor because they don't know how to clean up there mess.I have pictures. I had my two kids with and was going to walk over to McDonald's with them, but they insisted on giving us a ride. Chrystal my service advisor told me she would call when the truck was done and we would walk back, but to my surprise she drove the truck over to get us without being asked. A coworker told us that Kolar service department was terrible, unfortunately we did not take her advice to go elsewhere. Brought our brand new truck in for a warranty repair. Parts needed to be ordered. We were told the part was expected on Monday and guaranteed we would receive a telephone call when parts arrived. That did not happen. Thursday we called, to find out the needed part had arrived on Monday. Called to make a service appointment with our service rep,Kyle. Put on hold for over 10 minutes then told Kyle would return call...3 hours later no return call. We called back and a very nice receptionist finally made the service appointment for us. No specefic appointment time however, bring vehicle in at 0745 and pick up at end of day. Really? It was a 15 minute repair. Will never return to Kolar for purchase or for repair. Super disappointed!

We just had an oil change on our truck. Minor technical issue so no problem with that. My husband asked a question about the transmission fluid temperature and the service person took the time to go out of his way and not only answer his question but look up specific information about that and his truck, information we didn't ask about but was good to know and also made sure we understood another piece of information in order to get the most out of our warranty. He went above and beyond expectations and that quality is always greatly appreciated.

Do not have service work done there!! First) They told me I had a recall that needed attention so I scheduled an appointment to have it fixed. When I got there they said that since it was beyond my 3yr/36,000 mile warranty it was no longer considered a recall and instead was a service item that would be chargeable. Second) I had a problem with the right side of my trailer lighting and had them look at it since my truck was there anyway. Turns out it was a blown fuse. Their cost to replace a blown fuse was $130!!! That included a mandatory $12 "environmental" fee that everyone gets charged. I should have known better than to have work done there, but it won't happen again.

Then I brought it there and I spoke to a gentleman about my problems. We discussed in details that I said do not touch it if it s not under warranty they proceeded to fix things and I ended up with almost $500 bill. When I got my truck back I found a pile of peanuts on my drivers floor. On Sunday afternoon I took truck to Miller hill car wash and went to you that evening . My husband and I were looking into racing in our Audi Q7 a line vehicle for a Jeep Wrangler rubicon ( we ve owned 2 in the past) my husband spent 2 days speaking to a salesman. Told us that the Jeep that we were interested in was in excellent condition. We drive 3 hours to come and see how that Jeep that was in excellent condition was obviously NOT! Not only did it have several scratches and dens all around and in the fiberglass, it had two huge rips in the leather seats that were not the original rubicon seats. But that s not it, it was in some type of collision that they tried to cover up. And it had engine problems, not allowing it to go over 2RPM. When we spoke to the guy that helped us over the phone, he said I m not a Jeep expert it doesn t take a genius to see that the leather seats were completely damaged. Very disappointed and upset to get a I m sorry about that from everyone that worked at that dealership. I would highly recommend people to NOT buy/trade or even waste your time at kolar Chevrolet in Hermantown Mn.
