Wayne is a wonderful person to work with. I will always recommend him and Kolar GMC when my friends and family are looking for new vehicles. I was looking at trading in my 2017 Jeep Renegade for a used 2014 GMC Terrain. The Terrain was amazing, smooth ride, everything I was looking for. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me, but I will be coming back when the time is right for me and my family, because of the amazing service that I had with Wayne and at Kolar.

My Traverse was in the shop for a month due to transmission issues. I was called to pick vehicle up and made it 3 blocks before the transmission went out again. I was not treated with respect from Joe in the Repair shop. I had to request a loaner thru my sales rep Carl because no one would help me with a loaner vehicle. I will be taking my vehicle for repairs and upkeep thru another dealership.

The Sales & Leasing Representative, David Manios, was excellent. He was patient, very knowledgeable and informative, calm and made me feel very at ease in his presence. There wasn't any high sales pitch. I would highly recommend David and Kolar to anyone. I am leasing a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze and won't hesitate to call or bring my car in if need be. It was a very pleasant experience.

Had my work van towed here on a Friday when it died. The looked at it Saturday said it needed a new battery they had to order it. Came in Monday around noon. Went to pick it up the next morning start it. Load my equipment. Get in to leave and it died the same way as Friday. Finally supposed to get it back today. Had to keep calling for updates the whole time. The customer service people are friendly and helpful. The free shuttle was super helpful and the driver was great. Things happen but I kind of expected more from a Chevy dealership. Not having my work van for 4 days has been stressful. Not a bad place just a bad situation. Now it's gone to far Just got a call back they had messed up the billing and didn't charge me for the labor. So in the end I was charged close to a thousand dollars to change my battery and serpentine belt and "diagnostics". Forgetting to charge labor is ridiculous. I will not be going here ever again

Horrible experience. I only put a star to post my review. They are predators. They tell you one thing over the phone and it s all a lie when you get there. They charged me over $100 to tell me it was nothing wrong with my awd system when in fact I needed brakes rotors and a caliber. Joe is awful and he s attitude should have him fired.

I brought my truck in for a recall issue and three other small items. During the phone call, I told them of all the items so they would be ready. When I picked up my truck, ONLY the recall item was done. One of the items was not even on there report, even though the check-in person mentioned it. They said one item had to be ordered. That was the reason I told them what needed to be done, so it would be there to complete. The final item, apparently, they done even do. What a complete waste of time. A little better communication on their part would have gone a long way.

Purchased a truck from here, they said it came with new tires (which it did) but the truck comes from the factory with ALL-TERRAIN tires. The tires they put on them are all season, and they also didn't replace the full size spare, so I've got 4 all-seasons and 1 all-terrain. They wouldn't do anything for me, saying all they're required to do is put the same size tire on it. Kolar chev is just out to make a buck, no apologies, nothing. Do not recommend setting foot in here

Worst dealership ever. Walked after being ignored for 10 minutes. Finally had to ask for help. After being walked over to the sales managers. The first one (Preston Coleman) laughed in my face. I will never go back here. They will treat you poorly.

After a call. I realized even more they don't care about fixing the problem, but trying to get me to work someone else. That way they still get my money. I will never work with them. I told them how to fix the problem but they refuse to even talk to me about it. They kept asking what truck I wanted to look at. Please please stay away. This the shadiest dealership in the twin ports. They are 3 Chevy dealership within 50 minutes of Duluth. Go there and save yourself the hassle.

Every single time I am into Kolar service, the communication, execution and overall organization of the service department is incredibly sub-par. I schedule an appt several weeks out to come into a department that morning that has no idea I'm on the schedule. After checking in with my service advisor to authorize work & explain I have a corporate fleet management company for estimates/repairs/authorization I took a shuttle home. Keep in mind, repairs were a L/O/F, tire rotation, and replace a squeaking belt.

I had to call them back (4) times that afternoon to get my advisor on the phone for an update to find out because he was "busy and short staffed" never called the fleet management company; so repairs were never authorized and never started. Truck had to be left overnight.

Had to call no less than 4 times the following day to get an update that my truck was finally finished. Certainly not the repair technicians fault, but the service advisors and the service manager really need to step up their customer communication and appt sequencing. I am in every 6-8 weeks and the department is always in disarray and chaos. Needs to change or I will take my business elsewhere.

Brought my Impala in due to engine light came on and it wouldn't start when it was 10 degrees or colder. Since the manufacturer warranty was still in effect for emissions I brought it in. Of course, they said nothing was wrong because the tech reset it and it didn't come on. It came back on but they expect me to pay $70 for a diagnosis. They kept my keys and faub since I wouldn't pay the bill. Now I put my pride in my back pocket and went to pay the bill and they lost my keys. They expect me to pay for the new keys and faub because I didn't pay the rediculous bill right away. I don't believe these jerk-offs. I'm there to pay the bill, get my keys and leave. They lost the car keys which cost $200 with faub to replace but all of this is my fault??????? Where's my keys you sawed off sales manager!!! Unbelievable , the company I work for buys all their vehicles brand new from these clowns. Not any more you schmucks

Ok...where do i begin?...I schedule an appointment with a rental car. Show up with my family of five, from 2.5 hrs away, no rental car. have to reschedule. show up two weeks later, again no rental car, after we come from 2.5 hrs away on a scheduled vacation for our kids. car full of bags three kids, two adults, dog, etc. I requested three times a rental of similar size of a suburban. with 4wheel drive. They finally found one they could lend us from the lot. Thank god. Barely fit us and didn't get to shop in duluth. went home on monday. Called thursday to see if it was done. and they lost the ticket. not once now but twice. I forgot to mention that previously. I have a rental and they lose a ticket and i have to stick with this car another week. They say i don't have to pay for the rental. I pick up my vehicle two weeks later, pay the bill, and there is the charge for the rental.. The service manager, Burleigh i think his name is, is clueless to what his service men are doing. I talked with four people initially when bringing my truck in and still have no idea who wrote up my ticket. Also, they lost my warranty information that I have for the vehicle, so now I have to call the company i have this with and request the same information again. Joe...... Don't even know if i met you even though you were put on this service. Feel sorry for you.. because you have no idea what the hell you are doing as well as the others I have dealt with there. except for the gal i finally got my truck back from. she was nice. get your sh!+ together Kolar service. never again. Ps... Finally after reading your comment forum on here after posting my negative response.. I find that nearly every person that has been on that forum is greatly disgusted with the customer service and the service department. BBB is getting a call!! WoW!!!

When a leased car decides not to move on a Saturday enjoyable is not a word that comes to mind. That was the case a few weeks ago. However, from Katie who took my first phone, to Justin who came to my house to get it running, and Jeff on the phone to walk through a 'quick fix'; everyone at Kolar was terrific. Justin and Jeff were able to get my Terrain back up to the dealership (without the hassle of a Tow Truck) and get me into a loaner until the real problem was solved. Sandy was great in processing out the loaner when my vehicle was ready a few days later. A little inconvenience that could have developed into a big headache was dealt with professionally and timely, all on a Saturday as closing time was fast approaching. Thank you to all of the team members up at Kolar, especially, Katie, Justin, Jeff, and Sandy! Top notch all around!

I went in for a simple oil change on my Cruze. Once I left I noticed that my check engine light was on so I went back to the dealership. Once I got back it was made pretty clear that I was an inconvenience to them since they were "trying to get their techs home for the day". It ended up being the dipstick, something very miniscule, but the lack of customer service and diligence was upsetting. I have dealt with Northland Chevy in the past and will be heading back over the bridge; and would recommend that to anyone else who has issues.

Everyone is always in a great mood and the service is top quality. I have never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for an oil, lube, and filter change and I get a run down on my vehicle every visit. Not to mention, the price is right!

Thought it was going to be done on 7/26 but no, had to order parts so we could not go out of town this past weekend as we had planned because no rental cars, very unhappy with service department. Do not bring your vehicle here for repairs unless you like coming multiple times and want to risk having no vehicle to drive while you're waiting for repairs to be done.

It depends on what time I brought it in to be serviced or worked on. I had an oil change and asked if they could change the headlight. I had bought headlights and had tried to change it myself and got burned even though I did not have the headlights on. When the care was ready I was told I had to pay an extra $20.00 for the service guy to put the headlight in! I bought a service contract which is to pay for all my oil changes for hte life of the car. I was shocked I had to now pay an additional $20.00 for a headlight being put in. After I bought the car I had a tire destroyed on highway 53. The tow company could only take it to the nearest Chevy Service Center but I agreed to pay the extra milage to have it towed to Kolar! I went out of my way but they don't seem to reciprocate. Then when I had some major repair done I was first told I wouldn't be charged for the rental car. Then the next day when it was told it was to be ready I was informed it wasn't ready and they would need till the next day. When I came in to pick up my car I was charged for a days rent! I live over an hour away from Duluth. I can't say I feel like a valued customer. I felt more like a number. When I needed new tires I went some where else. The last oil change went fine. Service was excellent and the guys at the counter are good but when you have a couple of experiences like I had prior it just makes me question what really mattes to the upper management- money or people?

Do I have enough space? The repair took a very, very long time with no communication from the dealership. I did call numerous times and left messages for Renae and any time I did talk to a person they just left her a message as well. On time I called three times in a row and got hung up on before I could even say a word. There is not enough people working to deal with the customer volume in service. I complained to the service manager but with no satisfaction. The repair took 6 days (over a weekend as well causing us to borrow a vehicle to get out of town) and I still don't know why. I also had the gear box replaced for the steering which is easily accessed when the engine is removed. They still charged me 5.3 hours labor on that and I was given the line that it should have been 8 hours (I assume with the engine still installed, which mine wasn't) I was also told that I was given a break on diagnosis for a traction control light. It does not take 1.8 hours to plug in the computer and see that there wasn't anything wrong with the traction control light and that it was connected to the original check engine light. Horrible-Horrible communication, service, and pricing. I know dealers are stupid expensive just because they are dealers and are not worried about paying customers that have a budget, but this was beyond horrible. At least talk to me and keep me in the loop if you are going to rape me on price. We are now trading in our Traverse and buying a Tahoe, but not from Kolar; NEVER ever again.

The dealership is untruthful and deceiving. After being told the service department was on shedule, and seeing my vehicle still in the bay after 20 minutes, I approached the service personnel. 2 other customers were as upset as I was. The service personnel finally admitted they were 45 minutes to an hour behind schedule. I asked why did they not inform their customers. I received 4 emails reminding me of my appointment. They could have just as easily communicated the situation and asked if I wanted to reschedule, instead of having customers getting agitated! MY time is just as important as their time!!! Let s see if I get an apology.

My Escalade kept getting dashboard alerts, from check engine, to brake assist service and catalytic converter code. All just HAPPENED to come about within a two week period, and all within two days of each one. I pulled into Kolar service each time, talked to Craig, and each one was fixed with efficiency. Today was particularly awesome, as it was a simple sensor fix, and they got me in and out within an hour.

I cannot begin to say how extremely thankful and appreciative of the service at this dealership especially Craig the Service Advisor and Eric the technician that worked on my GMC Denali truck. I was in Duluth from out of town (PA) and the truck starting having unexpected engine issues. Craig was fantastic at helping me out to get the truck fixed and Eric was exceptional at working extremely hard to fix my truck both knowing I needed to be back in my hometown by the next day. The work was a very large labor job to basically rebuild my truck engine and the Service department was exceptional at understanding my stress on this issue. I want to personally (again) thank Craig, Eric, Katie and Michael who gave us a rental car to still be able to enjoy our visit in this really stressful time. Craig even called the next day to make sure we got home safe and everything was fine. If you live in this area PLEASE go to this dealership to purchase your next vehicle. You will not regret that decision.

I purchased a new vehicle in October. The sales process was quick and efficient with no issues.

I had an issue with the passenger side seatbelt. When I first entered the Service area there were three men behind the counters. One was busy on a call while the other two were talking to one another. When they noticed me they stopped talking and picked up some paper to continue their work. A fourth man entered the area, completed his current job, then acknowledged me.

An appointment was made for a 10:15 am service on 12/26/12. I made arrangements with work and asked my wife if she could take off for a few minutes to pick me up on the appointment date. I left my vehicle at Kolar on time.

I received a call from Matt at 4:30 pm informing me that they did not get around to my vehicle and they would try to get around to it in the morning or I could pick the vehicle up today. When I expressed my displeasure he let me know that he really didn't care one way or the other if it was an inconvenience for me or not. After I became very vocal he offered me a loaner vehicle but by that time I really wanted nothing more to do with Kolar.

Once I have my vehicle back I hope to find another dealer to service this vehicle in the future.

As usual the dealership was prompt, professional and very friendly. I was in and out within 35 minutes and needed to add tire rotation to my oil change. Every check was gone over with me and all my questions were answered clearly.

The service tech even pointed out that my key ring (which has several keys on it) was going to damage the ignition and recommended I keep my Equinox key separate or get a ring divider.

We are very pleased with Kolar Chevrolet and recommend them regularly.

Doesn't matter if you make an appointment for a simple oil change and show up early your vehicle will sit untouched for almost an hour before getting worked on and when work does start an hour for an oil change even on a brand new vehicle. Lots of staff just sitting idle and mechanics taking their sweet time to get anything done.

I can't say enough good things about my buying experience at Kolar, the sales agent (Rod Nygard ) did so much more than just sell me a car, he set the car up for my phone, he set up onstar hell he set up everything ,and a good thing he did because I'm clueless when it comes to that sort of thing, and after he set it up Rod explained everything he did, until I understood. This dealership has been the worst place that I have ever dealt with!! I could go on and on but there is no need to as no words can express how horrible the customer service is and has been! Specifically the Service Department manager who promised multiple times to return a phone call and never received one! They will gladly take your money for repairs but when it comes time for warranty or a refund on bad work you quickly get the experience of absolutely no customer service!!!

My Marine son returned home from his recent deployment to the middle east with his hazardous duty pay as a down payment on a truck he wanted yesterday. After refusing to come down one plug nickle on the asking price, my son asked if they could at least replace the tire jack that was missing from the truck. Sales Manager Preston looked my son in the eye and with a smile said, "No, because if you dont buy that truck someone else will" . I told Preston that I think it's pretty lousy to treat a Veteran or any customer that way for such a low cost item. Preston smiled at me and said, "If you dont like it, don't buy the truck". Shocking that a manager would be so disrespectful, arrogant, and condescending. If we did not live in a civilized society I would have wiped that smile off his face with a backhand. I have purchased other vehicles here before. This will be the last time! Veterans or anyone for that matter, should stay away from Preston and this apparently acceptable disgraceful management philosophy!

Not a very happy shopper, very unresponsive. I was working with a specific salesman and left about 3 voicemails, with updates to my credit situation, updates to my down payment, all the while before he told me he was "looking for something". All 3 of those voicemails went unreturned and I had no update for almost 2 weeks. If you have good credit you will probably do fine here, if you are facing credit challenges or looking to establish like I was, you are better off spending time with dealers that will help you.

I have always had good luck with GM dealers in different towns for service so I figured when I moved up to Duluth I would give Kolar a shot. I knew what was wrong with my vehicle, and when I made the appointment I made it clear that I wanted them to make sure the parts were in stock so I could bring the vehicle, wait the couple hours for the service, and be on my way. I had one afternoon off that week and that seemed like the obvious choice. When I arrived for service they took the vehicle and it took two hours just for them to get me a cost estimate for what I already knew was wrong and had the gentleman on the phone the prior day give me the cost for. After giving them the go-ahead they then spent an hour and a half tearing it apart before they realized that they didn't really have the part in stock and it was not going to be able to be completed that day. They never offered a loaner car, or anything to help with the inconvenience. They offered to give me a ride home, but I would have to find a way myself to get the vehicle picked up the next day because their shuttle didn't run after I got off work.
The experience left a very sour feeling about Kolar, and for the $500+ I spent on service it really seemed like they could care less.

I was told a part was covered under my extended warranty. After doing diagnostics they told me it was not covered and charged me for the diagnostics anyway.atotal of $109. I will never by another vehicle from Kolar and i will tell everyone I know to go elsewhere for a vehicle. The service people do not know what they are doing. AVOID THIS DEALER!! Beware, this dealer plays a lot of games. They are advertising cars as NEW on their website but they are actually loaner cars with several thousand miles on them. Some body panels may have damage and you will not get the full warranty. Sounds like a USED car to me but they will argue relentlessly with you. They also have a good cop/bad cop routine going where the sales guy will be very nice but then when you go to sign the papers in the back, the finance guy will give you the HARD SELL on the extended warranty and undercoating scams. I went with my mother in law and it's a good thing or they would have really taken advantage of her. We had to refuse the extended warranty several times but he kept pushing and he had my mother in law IN TEARS and she had to say no over and over. It was an absolutely horrible experience!

I enjoyed being welcomed into the dealership and the sales manager introducing me to my sales associate Wayne Schorr. He walked me to his desk, discussed what I was looking for, and what price range I was looking at. Most dealerships start asking a thousand questions right away while pushing you out the door to look at vehicles you likely can't even afford. I was surprised when the finance manager told me I could get the new SUV I was looking at with my credit. Everybody there made things worked and at the age of 35 years old I finally had a positive car buying experience.

I am so impressed with the new Chevy Cruise I bought from Kevin Holte at Kolar. kevin is laid back and incredibly knowledgeable about the cars he sells. Wow. What a great buying experience. The Cruise is a great car. I recently got 62.5 mpg average for 50 miles. I would definitely buy from Kevin again.

Craig (service rep) and Eric (Technician) were awesome. We were in town from out of state and encountered a major problem on my 2017 Sierra. Craig took us in for a check and set up a necessary warranty repair with rental car over the two days we were in town allowing us to get back home safe and sound. Truck is running smoothly again. I pulled into Kohlar Chev on a whim one morning when a Google search revealed them as the closest auto repair center to my location. My car was overheating and I was in a frenzy because I was 60 miles from home, had a ton of shopping to do (including a one-day sale on the purchase of a riding lawn mower at Sears) and also had to be home by a certain time to get to work that afternoon. They were the nicest, kindest people I've ever dealt with and the repair center itself was beautiful (if you're in to that kind of thing)! Shiny floors, smiling faces behind all the desks, friendly mechanics, HAIRSPRAY IN THE BATHROOM, cookies, coffee and cappuccino, I could go on and on. But the best part was these two gentlemen named Marv and Richard ... the shuttle drivers! Marv was filling in for Richard at first, but all in all these two men saved the day by driving me from store to store so I could get all my errands done while the rest of the team dealt with my car. I was more than impressed in so many ways and will be returning, hands down. So thanks, Kohlar Chev. Every time I use that rider I will think of you all and smile.

Last September, we were just starting our Circle Tour around Lake Superior on a Saturday morning. We got caught in a heavy downpour and discovered that the wiper motor for my Equinox had died. We were about 20 miles away from Duluth so we called Kolar and talked to Craig Siry in the service department. Not only did they have the part, but they were able to replace the motor that afternoon. We were able to begin our vacation without delay and so thankful for the quick service of the Kolar team. They saved the day - and our vacation.

In the last two and a half years I ve bought a used and a certified truck from Kolar. Both times dealing with Kolar the staff and managers treated me incredibly well. It s not crazy that they just treat you nice when you walk in the door. What made me come back after the first truck and what will bring me back again is how dedicated Kolar Chevy is to there customers. Every single issue they came up they fixed. I bought a Silverado rally from The key and fob was misplaced but before I even left the door they had ordered me a new key and fob and even stayed after hours to make sure I did not have to miss out on any work. Was not impressed with my experience with kolar service. Passed back and forth, explaining everything to multiple people.
They did find my issue after a week (wanted to charge me over a grand to reconnect 3 ground wires)
Crooks! wish I could give half a star.

Made appointment and with 1.5 hour waiting for repairs. After 3.25 hours, service told me it would take another 2.5 Hours. I live 1.5 hours way one way, do the math. The six items that need to be addressed, only one was done, they moved my floor mat back 2 inches and charged me $68.00. They charged an additional $165 but, didn't complete any work for the other five items.

This place sucks. Their phone service sucks, they transfer you and transfer you and transfer you until eventually, you are just waiting on a line that keeps ringing and ringing. They don't offer any type of assistance when requesting more information about a specific service. They take forever to complete a oil change, and they don't do a great job of providing a good customer service experience when waiting for your car's oil to get changed. I would advise against going to this dealer unless you have no other choice.
