The food is super good and the owners are very polite. Very clean restaurant and in a good location. They have Taste of Africa on the menu which is really awesome to try, gives you a different kind of food to try. Highly recommend:)
I live near this plaza but not only that I just wanted to try it. OK! They sale breakfast lunch & dinner here. I believe the prices were a bit expensive, honestly you can go by most of the ingredients to make yourself. The chicken wings in my opinion are to big, I mean they just don't look real... I prefer smaller wings! The French fries were over cooked too, the wings were cooked in meal, Not flour! The young lady ask if we wanted ALL our food at once... I ordered 2 pieces be of fish & 2 pieces of fish....it seems like the chicken was boiled then cooked! Idk but I also wanted a side of coleslaw, that was 3.99$....are they kidding me?!!! I could get that for that price at the deli. I wasn't impressed at ALL. They do have a big selection to choose from and they have an African menu if you're interested! Stop in, you may enjoy the atmosphere and cuisine... Happy Eating!

I ve been wanting to try out Kingdom for breakfast since it opened. I took my mom there for breakfast the other day. No indication when you walk in that you are to order with the cashier. It was not busy in the least and the TV was at max volume, making it hard to hold a conversation. Ordered a vegetarian omelette as listed on the menu. We were told other menu items were not available nor could eggs be made over medium. Waited 30 minutes for food as other folks walked in expecting to be met with a waitress and not greeted and instructed to order at the counter. Our food arrives and my omelette is runny with green bell peppers (not listed on the menu for vegetarian omelette) and no other veggies (the menu states 3-4 other vegetables). My mom s sausage patties were brick hard. We left soon after. I see from other reviews that breakfast foods- especially eggs- are not appropriately cooked! Unacceptable! Please get it together Kingdom!

I still dont fully understand this restaurant. Breakfast? Gyros? Fried chicken? African food? Jerk Chicken? Cheese curds? Fried fish? Open until midnight?
A friend was looking for some African food so we decided to give this a try. She got the Benachin and I got the Domada. While I have had African food before, I had not tried either of these dishes before, so I cant honestly say if they were correct or authentic. The Benachin had a strong mustard taste. The Domada had a thick peanut butter sauce. Both came with a side of hot sauce that was VERY hot.
We got cheese curds on a whim. They werent exceptional, about on a par with Culver's. More breading than cheese.
Portions were huge and came with drinks. My friend tried the tea which she LOVED.
Nothing was exceptional but worth trying some other items. I definitely want to try the jerk chicken and the kabobs.
I had the buffet special to go. Only $13.99 and I got to fill a large styrofoam takeout container plus a salad. All of the food was flavorful with great texture. Loved the fried wings, different types of stewed chicken, meatballs, couscous and rice (especially the brown rice, so flavorful). Great decor inside and reggae playing on the speakers. Staff was also warm with great energy. Support this Black Owned Business on the northside.
Expensive soda for a small 12 oz cup with no refill. Food took 30-45 minutes. Menu was not accurate (said Pepsi products, yet had come products, etc) expensive food with poor service and only decent quality. Restaurant dirty and minimal seating. Little to no staff and the ones they have give off an annoyed/tired vibe

I believe this is the same guy that had Burgers + inside of the West Towne Mall. The food was great there and great here as well. I ordered a Gyro today and was not disappointed, although it did come with lettuce and tomato rather than onion/tomato. Still very good.

Good afternoon Facebook , I decided to go to this restaurant called Kingdom . I ordered a gyro with fries and a soda , got my food and decide to eat a little bit of it . I notice that the fries was old , the meat tasted like dog food and the bread fell apart . I talked to the owner and told him that I was dissatisfied with my food , he replied that's not my problem we do not do any refunds. I said Thank you , and that I'm going to give you a bad review on Facebook I should have known not to eat there because , when I looked over the counter the floor was nasty the kitchen was trash... #food poisoning prevent yourself from getting sick... Ordered $50 worth of food ( chicken, fish, pizza puffs, italian beef, okra) didnt get my italian beef instead a extra pizza puff. Fish was hard. Okra was terrible. Chicken I didn't even want to taste. Food herrible not horrible. HERRIBLE!
Went there for breakfast. Good sized menu. Ordered corned beef hash with over easy eggs, companion biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. Overall ingredients subpar and inadequately cooked. Neither of our eggs were cooked properly. My over easy eggs were more over hard, like they were slammed onto the griddle, the yolks fried beyond all recognition. Companion's eggs were cooked the same manner as mine though actually had some semblance of runny yoke. Clearly they don't know how to cook eggs.
My hash was pretty decent but it was weird that it came with hashbrowns given that the hash contains potatoes. Hashbrowns were run of the mill and a bit too crunchy.
Coffee is self serve, which is nice but was subpar and watery. Companion ordered loose leaf green tea, but the person who took our order disappeared into the kitchen without making the tea. She had to grab a staffer to get her tea.
Don't think we'll go there for breakfast again but would like to try the African dishes sometime in the future.
The food is so good and the prices are great but the service is absolutely horrible. I want to support local businesses, so I keep going back hoping it will get better...

Ordered 2 omelets online this morning for pick up. Quoted time was 45 minutes. When I arrived 45 min later I was told it would be an additional 15 minutes. The girl at the counter was not friendly or apologetic. Note, the place was not packed, there were many empty tables. The omelets I finally got were tiny, burnt, and with different ingredients than described on the menu. My omelet was almost entirely kraft American single. The other one popped open to ooze this nasty brown gunk. I m not kidding. We were so disgusted we couldn t even eat them. They couldn t even get the toast or hash browns right. Hash browns undecrooked, bland; toast was burnt to a crisp. Can t believe I paid $19 for that food.
Have you seen the kitchen in that place..? you will never eat there again ,when it was The real Gyro place it was rocking. this new owner dont know what his doing..nasty..the Gyros is garbage no cone..flat top and a fryer...all grease food and a waste of your time..
We are always looking for new places to eat in Madison so we went for breakfast around 10am. When we arrived there were a few table waiting for food and many of the other tables had not been bussed. We ordered our food, got silverware and found a clean table to sit at. I asked for cream for the coffee and the gal taking orders said she would bring some to the table but she never did.
While we were waiting, we saw people ahead of us get the wrong food and send it back. There were no condiments out on the tables or by the coffee service and they were out of napkins and clean forks. Also, none of the dirty tables got cleared and cleaned so as more people came in, they were forced to clear and clean tables for themselves. The floors looked like they only clean up to 6 away from the walls as there were pieces of old food and other dirt near the walls.
It took close to 30 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did it was cold. My omelet wasn t cooked through, and neither were my husband s eggs. I ordered wheat toast and got white, and American fries and got hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were very cold and tasted like fish. As we left, we noticed that almost every plate at other empty tables had over half of the food left on them, like ours, so it wasn t just us that had a bad experience with the quality.
I read some reviews while we were waiting and it appears that this isn t a new restaurant (only a new location) so I don t understand why they weren t better staffed. Also, one of the reviews stated that you have to be prepared to get whatever the cook makes, not necessarily what you ordered. If that is the case, they shouldn t be giving people options. Needless to say, we will not be eating there again. My husband says that it was easily the worst dining experience he has ever had.
Great variety of food including traditional African cuisine. Tried the shwarma and domada last night - both delicious. And the fried fish and chicken are legit too. Can't wait to try the jerk chicken next time.

More culinary diversity than you should ask for. Try the African cuisine!
There are no African restaurants other than Kingdom. It unfortunately doesn't provide good delivery food. For delivery, do not dump fufu and soup/curry together. Please wrap the fufu and put the soup or curry in a separate sealed plastic container. If you put it in a Styrofoam container, the soup/container leaks and can get everywhere. Dumping fufu and curry together is inconvenient to eat because people usually dip the fufu in the soup/curry.

At this point we just wanted to leave and said no. No offer of refund, despite this rye toast being an add on and not included with either meal.
Awful food awful service, sausages taste like jimmy deans but overcooked, bacon is meh, they messed up my order I asked for scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes, I got over very hard very badly cooked eggs and hash browns which weren't cooked enough to be brown. Pancakes weren't bad but weren't above average either. Tried to call them to ask them to redo my order seeing as they messed it up was met with a person who didn't speak very good english hanging up on me after 30 seconds. Please don't order from this business.its quick and cheap but unless you are very hungry in a huge pinch I highly recommend avoiding it
I bought a Groupon for this place, called to use it (called twice because they was no answer) and the owner rudely said 'we don't have a Groupon' and told me to take it up with them. I figured I'd order anyway, he wouldn't take my delivery order, said to use EatStreet. I did, and only half of it came. I called again (twice, again) and the owner barely listened, did not even ask me what address or name, before he refused to help and blamed, "whoever you placed the order through". When I said Eatstreet he said it was their fault and to call you and HUNG UP. It is possible that both Groupon and EatStreet messed up, but I don't think there's any reason to be as evasive and unhelpful as this man was. Horrible experience and will never eat there again. The food was only meh anyway.

Walked into this place and felt like I was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. 6pm on a Saturday and not a single customer in sight. After waiting awkwardly for several minutes, someone appeared to answer the phone. He hung up and disappeared without even acknowledging us. Considering our feet were literally sticking to the ground, we decided to go next door to the Italian restaurant (which was quite packed, as a restaurant should be for dinner service).
Ordered the chicken gyro for takeout - it was delicious! Such a huge portion, and so flavorful.

I tried to order from Doordash. I realized that I gave them the wrong address because I was at a friend s place, so I called Kingdom Restaurant to change the address n the order. I was told that their computer was broken, so my order didn t and wouldn t go through. I didn t tell them about the change in address because they said the order was cancelled. Two hours later, the delivery guy is calling me because I m not home. Doordash is telling me I can t get a refund because I wasn t there for the delivery...that Kingdom Restaurant told me I wouldn t get.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I ordered my food through Door Dash and everything went through, got the confirmation and everything. My order was suppose to arrive at 7:18pm. At around 8:00pm I called and asked if they ve gotten my order(because on the door dash site it said it was still being prepared in the restaurant), and they told me that they never confirmed it and it would take an additional 10 minutes to make it. So I waited AGAIN until 8:20pm to see if my order would arrive, it didn t so I called back. This time they told me my food should be arriving shortly because the driver left the restaurant. When the driver did get here(about a 10 minute commute from where I m located) my food was cold, items were prepared wrong, and thee tire meal look like it had been sitting out for an hour or so. I m so displeased with my entire experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. So unprofessional

My boyfriend and I were going for a walk, stopped in at the Family Dollar nearby, and then were going to stop by McDonalds before we walked home. As we were walking, we saw Kingdom and decided to stop there instead because we love gyros! It was very reasonably priced, I believe the man we spoke with (I think was the owner?) who was incredibly polite and nice, they had the CNN coverage of the election on so we sat and watched while we waited for the food then went outside and ate it on the grass and IT WAS FANTASTIC. The gyros were DELICIOUS!! We will definitely be return customers, a very good experience!

Service was ok but breakfast wasn't. I received wheat toast instead of white, patties instead of links (that were half raw/half burnt), and undercooked eggs with runny whites in the middle. Hashbrowns were cooked ok but very bland. Other reviewers seem to have the same complaints, you get what the cook decides to give you and it's either under or over cooked. They must also use the same grill for everything as all my food except the hasbrowns had some off spice taste to it.
From others in my party the non-breakfast food was quite good. They should get rid of the breakfast and just open for lunch/dinner instead. And get a new cook.
My partner and I are big fans. They always give us generous portions and the chicken Sharma and jerk chicken are super good. Not many around like it so I would like to keep it in business ;)
