Kings Dominion has done a lot to improve their Park in recent years. New rides like the Twisted Tumbler really bring a fun new dynamic to the park. Their annual 5k is also getting better each year too!

A nice section for younger kids, Planet Snoopy, combined with the free season pass for 3-5 year olds, make this a great stop for some families. (2 and under are free; many rides have a height requirement.) An accompanying adult needs to purchase a ticket. So the pre-K deal is not a "steal." Food is overpriced and outside food is not allowed inside the gates. So plan ahead! There are lots of benches, umbrellas, and trees to help with the Virginia summers. Our kids loved it and can't wait to return!

They are starting to get rid off the bins to place your bags and drinks ect, and turning people away from rides because they can't bring anything to the ride so your forced to bring nothing and buy nothing or spend extra money on a locker and its ridiculous because I bring a small side bag that attaches to my leg (which I have worn while riding every ride before just fine) so I can keep my phone, wallet and glasses safe and so I can easily buy something, but now buying a stuffed animal or playing a game is just an expensive liability because I now have to waste time to run to the car and back before I can ride.

Kings Dominion is my favorite amusement park! It has a variety of kid and adult rides, and the waterpark is full of different slides and wave pools. Best time to go during the summer are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Weekends are full and lines are much longer. Other than that, definitely consider getting a food pass! Worth it if you plan on going more than twice this summer. PARENTS - Make sure to get your blue pass at customer services to skip to the front of the line! One parent waits and rides, and the other rides without having to wait in line! KD is absolutely kid and parent friendly, and one of the best places to enjoy your summer.

We arrived at 11:00 am and got a great parking spot. We where very happy about that. The only problem I have is with the staff. Not one staff ever smiled. And when you would ask them a question they would snap at you like you were bothering them. From the moment we walked in from the time we walked around the park until the time we left there was not one employee that was happy or nice. The rides were great we had a wonderful time we just knew better than to ask any questions

Overall, it was ok. There are a handful of great rides then the others would be better if they did not give you whiplash. Some of these rides are 20 years old, easy! Outer limits Flight of fear, the intimidator, and volcano are the best three. All of these are right next to each other, as well. I couldn't ride the dominator because it was down. It was a ways off in it's own corner, so I wish there was someone telling us before the 5 minutes walk towards it. The shows they have aren't something to look forward to but I go here for the rides. The park itself was hard to navigate. The signs and maps were limited. The single arcade is small and needs updating and many need to be fixed. The park needed an overall good scrubbing. Past international street, is looked poorly themed, dingy, and unkept. There was gum visible on just about everything and the walkways were heavily darkened and could use a power wash. Many rides could also use a fresh coat of paint. Avalanche especially. If you're going to have a white coaster, expect some up keep.

It did have good food on international street and little spots with sit downs though out. The lines were all short for a nice Monday. I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes on anything, front or back car. Staff was overall friendly but enthusiastic. Three people seemed to enjoy their job though. Very helpful.

For the price, $40, it's what you get. I've been spoiled with Busch gardens 1.5 hours down. It's no comparison but double the price. This past is something if go to every 5-10 years.

Many rude and uncaring late teenaged employees who would rather be anywhere but at work. Food throughout the park is expensive and not very appealing typical of cheap fast food joints. Coasters are great when they're operating. Waits during the week are very manageable.

Fun

By far one of my favorite amusement parks ever. It's rides are great and there's a lot to do there. The tickets aren't incredibly overpriced but I do have one complaint. They are now removing baggage holders at the rides in favor for paid lockers at the beginning of the ride. The other method was working just fine but I guess they had to change it? At least it doesn't seem to be affecting all the rides there but it changed my expirence alot from the last time I was there. Still a lot of fun though.

My whole family went...and it rained very hard that Saturday. We we're in the park for thirty minutes and had to leave due to weather....all if the rides we're shut down. To make a long story short, we we're not able to get a raincheck to come back on the next day due to the weather so we really lucked out on this trip. But over-all the park was nice

New Year s Eve at Kings Dominion, parking was fine. Left our 5mo old puppy in their kennels, no complaints there. Entered the park with no problems. While my DH and DD went on a ride, I waited in line for 45 min (!) for two souvenir mugs of hot chocolate and later waited over 40 min at Blitzen s burritos. The service was extremely slow everywhere, people were leaving the line unhappy and without any food. Not even in the summer we ve waited so much for food. It is ridiculous! The people working have no method to doing things, spend time talking about god knows what and take FOREVER bringing things from the back.

The park is pretty well maintained for it to be such a large and highly visited amusement destination. The bathrooms could use a bit more attention but overall the lines move well, food is good (expensive but good), and the staff appear efficient at their jobs. The Volcano is always out of order every time I visit though.

I dont like the changes. Like the Volcano torn down and the music in the front isnt the same. This used to be my 2nd home. Ive been coming here since 94 and worked here in 98. Working here sucks too!

Haven't been to this park in many years. Anaconda was worse than disappointing. Very rough. Newer coasters were pretty good.

Food was disappointing also. Counter workers seemed more interested in talking to fellow workers than actually being interrupted by paying customers.

I actually enjoyed the park. Didn't wait in line much at all. Felt like I got my money's worth, but it could be so much better.

Absolutely love it here best Halloween haunt and music this year and the teenagers loved it dont recommend taking the smaller kids lots of fog smoke and a little scary with the Halloween theme but wonderful for teenagers and adults who like a little fright lol great foods and drinks

Went here for fright fest for the second year in a row. Overall had a good experience, but not in relation to the scary elements within the park. The actors and employee's just seemed kind of lazy and not really engaging. If you want to experience the "spooky" part of the park you have to go out of your way to find it. For the ticket price, and the limited park hours, I dont think the fright fest event is worth it. The park itself is great as always though.

Great park. Bring a hat and sunscreen as many of the queues lack shade. On a hot day, go check out the show in the theatre-- it's air conditioned. Buy tickets online, not at the gate to save money. Twisted Timbers is probably the best coaster in the park. Only thing is they will require you to lock up bags/water bottles before getting in line.

If I could give 0 stars I would. KD is too overrated to be so damn expensive. If you decide to go don t bring any bags and I recommend you not to waste your money at KD. Turkey legs are $10 and dry, whenever you want to get on a ride and you have a bag/fanny they won t tell you until you get to the front. The have metal detectors before you get on, after you ve already entered the line. And on the intimidator they won t even let you sit your bags down on the side or let your friends hold it. They tell you to pay for a locker that only holds for 2 hours and they charge between $2 - $5 just to hold your belongings for 5minutes. I was so excited to come here, but I see why people don t come here now. Also the park closes at 10pm and they close all the stores and food places at 7:30pm- 8:00pm. The staff is terribly rude and they need to check that ASAP! I will not be returning nor will I recommend people to come. It is not worth it. DON T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I went to this park because it has a great coaster line up I was very excited for Twisted Timbers my first RMC I had a 2 day pass I went on it the first day and it was great I was in the 3rd row. The next day I wanted to go on again but in the front row and have a night ride so me and my brother wait in line for it and about 4 trains before we get on (mind you they running one train) the train "brakes" down right before the load and on load station we wait about 5 minutes and people start to leave about 50 then magically the train comes in the station and then the people on the train get off and more people get on but they did no test run sounds fake right? We stay in line for the front row and one train before we should get on they tell us we have to move to another row at this point I'm upset and am about to cry if you wait in line for the front row you deserve the front row I had a ok ride in the 3rd row but it would of been better in the front. This whole thing sounds fishey to me I think the workers could of did it better. I hope this does not happen to anyone else because it is just wrong and not fair to anyone. I still had a good time and twisted timbers is my favorite coaster ever I again just wish I would of got in the front row. Thank you for reading my long review.

Love Kings Dominion. Go multiple times a year and always have a good time with the fam and with friends. Pricey so we always eat before we get there. Sometimes the bathrooms could be cleaned up better but I understand most ppl dont care how nasty they leave things or that others have to use it behind them. Just came back from haunt tonight and the bathroom lines were ridiculous but I still enjoyed the scares and perfomances.
