Big park with ample parking. Variety of rides for everyone, from the thrill seeker to the little kid. The pavilion has a good setup for concert events. Be sure to have cash handy, as some food and beverage stands may accept cash only. Occasional temporary delays for rides due to maintenance or emergencies. The app is helpful for anticipating wait times for rides and for mapping and directions to desired locations.

I'm very unhappy with the locker system Kings Dominion has set up. I don't know when they started using lockers. Before, you could take you backpack in line with you, and put it in a bin before getting on the ride. Now they make you pay $2/hour to rent a locker or leave your belongings with a non-rider. This locker system doesn't seem to benefit customers in any way. I was also told that I had to put my glasses in my pocket for Intimidator and Twisted Timbers. I've worn my glasses on intimidator many times before and been okay, so why the sudden change in policy? Riding blind inst very fun :(

This was our first time and the kids enjoyed it. The weather wasn't too hot and except for Twisted Timbers, the lines were doable. I would like to suggest that they have someone at the entrance checking for height. There's nothing more frustrating to a parent and kids alike to wait for 30mins to be told you're either too big or too small. Also there were several rides that were down for repair(?)...This makes the park seem old.

A lot more going on this season than last! Skip the 3d sleigh ride with the dirty glasses! All the other shows are super fun!!! Enjoyed the lights so much!!!! Well probably be back soon!!!

We went during for the Gospel Fest. It was the first time I have been here since I was a teen and a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. I thought I would be able to creat 1st time memories with my family of 7 since this was my children's 1st time going. Temperatures were well over 90 degrees that day and by 2:00-3:00pm just about every place that sold drinks had run out of ice. What amusement park runs out of ice?!?! And there were ALOT of roller coasters closed. We will not be returning to Kings Dominion again.

This is a fun park - a bit of a drive from the DC metro area, but worth the time. It combines both a water park and theme park into one - so when it gets hot at mid day, go cool off. The crowds can be bothersome at times so plan mid week trips or spend a couple of days in one of the cabins and go in the evenings to skip the long lines. The meal plans and drink cups are worth the money - split between 2 people and the price is a reasonable ($42 if not split) $21 for all day drinks and food every 90 minutes. I would recommend to my my friends.

I had an issue with a couple of the vendors but when I took it to customer relations they were very polite and solve the problems did everything in their power to keep us happy that's what I call service

I got season passes and went during the heat wave we had last week and spent Saturday and Sunday there, and still had loads of fun they allow water bottles which was a blessing during this time and I do have a refillable cup for the season as drinks are going be the thing that makes your wallet empty (that and the food) as much I enjoyed everything they need to bring back the mist, I miss it so much and my mind kept thinking about the spots where the mist used to be. I don't know why they removed them, I'm sure there is a good reason but it's summer and it's a hot one at that so not having the ability to cool down was unfortunately (please bring them back!)

Still had fun with the rides that were open, but mostly everything was closed or closing down. Got stuck on a ride couldn't hear anything told over the PA. Mechanics come and we were ignored when trying to ask what was happening. Told later after asking about the rides being closed that it's opening day what so y'all expect and that things will get running smoothly probably June. JUNE. Tried to ride a coaster that was closed 4 hours prior again and after being halfway to a seat, surprise technical difficulty. It was about 730ish so I'm sure it was just to get people to leave instead of waiting to ride. This was after we paid for a locker btw. Overall I'm extremely disappointed. I feel since Cedar Point took over, it has gone down Hill. I give it 10 years.

A little ridiculous waste of money when there no storms or rain or thunder or lightning and THEY UAVE EVERY RIDE CLOSED you ask the people operating the rides and they have NO CLUE why the rides are all closed and I MEAN ALLLLLLL rides are closed. So I purchased season passes for this mess. Plus how do you hire people that can t speak a lick of English I asked where an ATM is and the girl didn t even understand what an ATM was so how do you expect someone like to to run a thrill park SAFELY.. if they don t even know what an ATM is. This whole trip was such a waste of time and money I m so highly disappointed. We bought food passes and barely got to use them as well because what s the point in staying in a park without a single ride open. Like I saiD HUGE WASTE of money and vacation time. Maybe next time I ll do Hershey Park or bush gardens I really wish I didn t buy season passes to this place now

The rides are great but the employees running the food places and games are very rude and unprofessional, some look like common criminals hired off the street. Much classier when owned by Paramount.

First visit in 10yrs & rides were either no open or they were breaking down left and right!!! I've gone to carnivals, spent less money & had more fun with no broken rides!! This was beyond unacceptable, they're turning into a Six Flags America and that's never good!!!!

Every good ride line we got in, we waited an hour to an hour and a half just to get to the front of the line and have it shut down. We tried to ride the volcano, the drop, the intimidator and all were closed each time we got close to the front. The food lines were so long and the customer service was very poor. The system even shut down and we could not eat for a while even though we paid for a wrist band to eat. Our first experience was very poor and I don't know if we will be back again.

It is great. You may buy the tickets online, it is going to be a cheaper. It is 49 dollars online while in front disk it is 70 dollar. When I visited it, it was not too busy. So you do not need to buy a fast way which costs 75 dollars(online 60 dollars).
It is the best choice for families since it has a lot of games for children and adults.
But what I don't like in it there is no many cuisines.

There is so much to do and a lot of food vendors all around the park. The park is well shaded so you dont get too much sun on the really hot days. I only wish the water park was closer to the entrance.

We went earlier this month, all of the roller coasters unfortunately were down at some point that day. We got stuck on the flight of fear for about 20 minutes(which was enough for me to never get onto the ride again). They were, however, very quick to agree to give us another day on them. They honestly probably had a bunch of complaints that day, it was just a series of unfortunate events.

Its nice for the family to go and have a great time. The prices are over rated on everything. Food not all that great especially since its mostly teens working there. Take your own lunch and bring your own water.

Really gone downhill since Cedar Fair took over. Still a great place to blow a day. Not sure how they justify charging 70$ at the door then charging for some of the rides as well, i kinda thought that was the whole point in the steep entry fee. Do not plan on eating here either. A 6 dollar Chic-Fil-A sandwich costs 18 bucks here.

the rides were amazing and a super great value for the price we paid... (110 for 4 tix) plus it has a water park!! kids will never forget the trip! also they offer all day meal deals and and refillable water bottles at reasonable prices!

I used to love this place... Before yesterday, the last time I had been to Kings Dominion was 3 years ago. Honestly, I still love KD for the memories and everything, but honestly, yesterday I was truly disappointed... Over the span of only 3 years, this park has decreased in quality quite a bit. All of the roller coasters are so rough, that they gave me a headache all day. The best ride is literally Racer 75 (aka Rebel Yell) and that's something I NEVER thought I'd say. Also, I'm fairly disappointed with Twisted Timbers... I was expecting so much out of this ride but it was really uncomfortable to me. The park's still fun, and I still enjoyed my time there yesterday, but like I said earlier, the roller coasters are so rough. And everything is so expensive. Also, KD isn't adding anything major to their park (other than Twisted Timbers) and it's driving me and other guests away from the park for sure. Shockingly, the employees weren't rude though, but some other reviewers say they are. I won't be coming back to KD anytime soon though... Like everyone else says, go elsewhere. Busch Gardens is by far better. So is Carowinds.

Been going here for years and they keep making it better! The cleanliness has been really up to par. The new rides are great. Lines on the weekdays are very doable with a family. Plus with monthly payments for season passes, the park becomes accessible to many that couldnt afford it upfront. Great job KD!

No mist stations, extra long wait just to get into the park, and the little bugs that invade every part of your personal space, even your ears!!! Watch out for those. Also, I highly suggest purchasing parking and tickets (day passes) online as prices are doubled at the park!! Food is extra expensive for no reason. For example, a plain funnel cake is $15 and a 6" Subway sub and chips is $13 (which would normally be around $7). So basically, just think double on the prices. The nuisance bugs really ruined my experience and not having any heat relief stations made it worse.

High quality coasters & rides! And it seems that there have been many new rides added since I was last here in 2011. And very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff! They were able to help me with a ticketing issue I had and even gave me a couple of single-use fast pass slips. Helped make the day much more pleasant. The only bummer is you definitely have to prepare to pay a minimum of $14 a person per meal in the park, but I'm sure this is pretty much the standard at any theme park these days. And I believe this is still a better value than Busch Gardens. Will hopefully be returning next year! :)

This is an okay park. I really like bringing my children here when I can. Its a little on the pricey side for what you get. They definitely need attendants for the bathrooms because they are always so gross.

I grew up going to this park. It had Hannah Barbara before Peanuts & now my kids are growing up loving the thrills, the atmosphere, the good vibes, the great games and the new water park thatb has continued a family tradition since 1981! Thank you

This is the place for rides!! My kids about killed me...I made it almost through all of them. They had a blast. Theme of the park is hard to figure out but I don't think kids care about that..lol. Not the best for little kids except the kids water park section.

Rides were fine, what you would expect at an amusement park, but service.... Service here, especially the diner, was so unprofessional. The lines were chaos and unmarked so if you were in the wrong line, you didn't know until you got to the register, and had to restart. The prices were jaw-dropping as well at that location. At the pizza/salad place, the pace was snail-worthy slow. Others were able to go on rides while I waited in line. A switch (maybe?) then occurred of staff and even longer pause. On one side someone disappeared for minutes. The burger restaurant and peiwei were not as bad for your wallet. If able, get the unlimited food pass and the drink pass.

King s Dominion is the place to go if you love roller coasters.
Not many people on Tuesday, only had to wait 15 mins for one ride. All the others we walked on.
Parking is expensive $20, unless you have the platinum or gold passes, then parking is free. Food is extremely expensive. $6 just for a corn dog, $10 for a funnel cake. We packed a lunch and ate in the car, to save money.
A standard size locked in Splash City is $15. We will not be using a locker again next visit.
Only problem was not many things were open: some roller coasters were closed, many food stands weren t open. Hopefully this is just because it s a Tuesday. Plan on going back as much as possible since we purchased the season passes.

I love Kings Dominion and always since I was 5 years old and yesterday was the first time I ever purchased a season pass from Kings Dominion you would like to think my experience was great after all the years of great customer service but NO it was not I wish I had the name of the guy who was supposed to help me and my niece when we had to take pictures for our season pass but he was a older white male and he was so rude to me and my 12 year old niece. We were confused on where to go when we first walked into the room to take our picture for the season pass and no one said hi nor how the process worked we walked in and just was trying to figure out how it goes and I looked over at the rude man working there and asked how does this go can you tell us please he rudely stated that is why I'm over here and not over there because I can help you here like I was dumb and I stated to him that I didn't know that's why I asked and my niece said to me he is so mean and rude which made our experience starting off in the park very bad and even as he took our pictures he was talking rude and did not hand me my season pass card just left it on the counter I wanted to say more to him if you know what I mean but I had children with me that did not deserve to have the rest of their experience ruined so I bit my tongue but I will be contacting KD when they open later in the morning.

Not the best amusement park but a good place to visit. Recommended that you go on a weekday if possible, weekends are insane. Bring your own food, prices are insane. Most of the help is great, however, there are exceptions.
