Winterfest 2019. Getting better, and good food this year.
It's ok. Waterpark is disappointing and dirty. Some of the employees obviously hate their job and show it. You have to pay for attractions in the park such as go karts that I believe should have just been a regular ride. Disorganized parking and disorganization for some of the rides. At least the park was cleaner than expected and some of the rides were fun. Worth a day trip but I wouldn't pay for a season pass.
High thrills without freakishly long lines! My family really enjoyed this park.
the lines are way to long and the tickets are too expensive.
So many reasons to love this place. Wonderful for children of all ages and families. Grows more beautiful each year.
Love this place been going for years had never let me down
At first I had a decent time even with the lines being long.
However after I went to the arcade and practically had my money taken from me. After buying tokens the first 4 games I played were malfunctioning. First one was bowling and only a few pins would come down each bowl and made the game pointless followed by it not giving out tickets, even after it was restocked. Next a game just took my coins and didn't do anything, the coin return failed as well on it. Next was a claw machine which I know are usually rigged against you but it honestly just went down and back up, not even closing the claw slightly. After waiting 20-30 minutes to talk to a worker they told me there was nothing they could do about it. Turned an okay park experience into a terrible one.
Went during the off season and crowds were barely present. Two of the roller coasters weren t working but we made up for it by riding the others more. Very clean and staff was friendly
I go atleast once every year, I try to spend all day at the park. This place is amazing.
Had fun and rode a couple of rides. Good place for kids and adults.
Winterfest is great, awesome place for the whole family!
Many restaurants were out of numerous menu items and several major rides broke down multiple times. A huge drag when you drive far and pay full price. Otherwise, a great time!
The thrill rides were all....how do I say this? Ah yes, Thrilling. The park is a bit dirty and the staff does not cooperate, but it's always a fun to go. Food is also very good!
There were some pretty good rollercoasters and the lines on a weekday were short, but aside from that there weren't any other rides for adults. Several of the rollercoasters weren't running though and some don't have a place for you to store your backpack while riding and charge you $2 to store it in a locker. People running the many many game stands heckle you as you walk past in a rude obnoxious way. The go-karts cost quite a bit extra and food is unbelievably expensive. Better to bring lunch and get your hand stamped so you can go eat in the parking lot and come back in. The whole place just felt way past its prime and kind of run down. Not worth the price of tickets.
Would no recommend for large groups. Second year in a row that error was made on admission tickets. So far an hour and 45 minutes and waiting for this issue to be resolved.
Big place need a some form of traveling other than walking though. It was hot, could've used golf carts
This place here is absolutely enjoyable. If your not a dare, you'd shouldn't come. I have been here for almost ten years. But when I did go, I enjoyed myself. And my little three year old boy, got on rides as well. It was fun filled with family excitement.
Small park, not many rides. What little staff there is are disinterested, at best.
The park is not what it used to be when Paramount owned it. I think this will be the last year I purchase season passes for my family. The quality of everything has declined dramatically a little more every year. Yes it's still an amusement park and we still have fun but the spark is definitely gone.
My first thought when I walked into the park was "This is Carowinds." (An amusement park in Charlotte). A lot of the rides were closed for Winterfest, and it opened so late that it was hard to feel like I got my money's worth.
So its slightly cheaper and has more rides than Busch but Busch is better in every other way. Accessibility, food, ambience, quality of rides, etc is better at Busch but slightly cheaper and more rides speaks pretty loud in the amusement park market so KD is prolly the play fam
Getting tickets online is a bit confusing. Have to have a ticket for EVERYTHING! Have to even buy a necklace so that the "actors/employees" won't come up and scare you as bad! You can even buy a ticket to literally cut in line, ticket to park-which I personally think should be free because you wont have enough left over after buying a ticket for everything else to get a minimal savings online! What happened to the days when you just had to buy a themepark ticket and go out to the car for a picnic lunch had a great time without maxing out your credit card for a family outing??
Love the rides and the water park. There is a lot to see and do in the park.
Good rides, large park, tons of fun for all ages
Operations were not great, some rides would have 30+ minute waits when they didn't need too
Grizzly and Twisted Timbers were especially bad
Food was pretty bland, not too expensive but still not worth the price
Everything for every age from water park to theme park and great food
Rides are fun per usual, staff is competent and friendly. Plenty of food options, both snacks (Funnel Cakes) and main dishes (subway, burgers, chicken nuggets, chick fil a).
On to the bad side, overpriced food ($15 for a burger with fries, no drink) as is usual for amusement parks. Their cups section did not have any lids or straws. The condiment bar was low and zero napkins were available at prime lunch hour. Parking is $17 per car as if the hike to get here from Richmond or NOVA wasn't enough including buying tickets.
This and Busch Gardens honestly offer the same experience.
I love King's Dominion. It's my favorite theme park due to the amazing rides! I have a season's pass and I'm loving it!
Wonderful amusement park for all ages except people with walking disabilities. Definetly need a walking or transporting device due to minor inclines and super large park. Waterpark is superb. Prices for food are very expensive. Gift shop items are pricey. Park is very clean. The rides are always very well maintained and inspected. Excellent amusement park that is exceptional at safety standards. Variety of great rides. Christmas time, they now have a holiday themed attraction park with a beautiful ice skating rink at large capacity. Where the water fountains are during the rest of the year. Spectacular idea for Kings Dominion. Worth buying a season pass.
Clean, great landscaping & layout. Friendly courteous employees
Wish options were a lil bit cheaper, lockers, food, etc. Always a fun place to visit
Enjoyable park and pricey food. Honestly to be expected but fun none the less.
Great fun, good memories for kids. Watered down drinks in the fountains. & MULTIPLE drink items were out of order. When I asked a park employee how often these drink machines went down "quite often". Soak city hadn't opened for the season yet (opened the next day) had I realized that prior to visiting we would have went another day. Wait time we're not bad at all compared to other times we have been here. Our kids enjoyed themselves overall. I was just a little upset about the out of order drink fountains & watered down choices we did have.
Great theme park! Me and my wife got seasons passes for the park. This is the first time we have ever been to a Kings Dominion park. The park has a very good variety of rides and a good amount of rides. The park could use a better variety of shops and places to eat. Other than that it's a great amusement park experience.
Great Park but I don't understand the experience parking price when you can just put it in the entree fee.
Place is good for kids. Park is small and if you go on normal weekend all rides can be completed in 7 to 8 hrs. Valcano and intermediate 305 are the best.
Long lines(even after 4pm) not allot of attractions compared to six flags/Hershey park. I was really disappointed with the rides they did have. The wave pool was evacuated suddenly without warning, I'm just over it.
Amazing park! I can tell that cedarfair loves this park much better than Kings Dominion. The rides and the asthetics of Kings Island is definitely worth the trip! Please go here if you want an amazing experience!!! A+!!!
They had rides for everybody, water park, good food, and life entertainment
It was fun, but when you go to fill your seasons cup there are bees near the drinks. I refilled mine and a bee got in my cup!!!!
Amusement park with classic and modern rides, many kids elements and plenty of fun for both high thrill and gentler tastes.
Absolutely love this place! There are a wide variety of rides for little ones and adults! They are a little pricey inside the park, but that's typical of any amusement park. If you're looking for a place to take a date or the family it's definitely worth it!
The place is really filthy for an amusement park. Rides are maintained as well as other places and it can be a long walk from coaster to coaster. Most coasters feel "scary" in a health risk kind of way due to their age(Grizzly and Anaconda) but it's alright. I reccomend Busch Gardens if you're in the area but it's cheaper to go here! Mainstream restaurants are also here like Chik-Fil-A and Panda Express
We have been there on the 31.of december to celebrate new year since we knew that they will have fireworks. The park was amazing decorated, different areas where designed in different styles. The had fakesnow and it was an amazing walk through the park. Very romantic and we definitely had a few nice hours. There weren't much rides open, but we also didnt really missed them.
We payed 71 $ for two adults and this included the parking with one car wich was 17$. Even when we left right after the fireworks, we where able to leave the parking area pretty quick.they did a good job to bring all of those cars out as quick as possible.
The food on the other way was a nightmare. First we stood about 1 hour in the line of Starbucks just to get told that they are "out of chai!" Also out of the half of the usual menu. My question why there is no sign with " hey, dear customer, we are out of chai, so please rethink your order BEFORE you stand on the register to prevent the line from gettinger longer and longer." Was answered with... No answer and an arrogant behaviour. My experience: never going to see this Starbucks from the inside again!
Also fries where about 9$ and the fries in the diner where horrible soaked in fat and we both felt sick after eating the half portion.also we had to wait about 30 minuts for the fries
Other than the food and drink drama it was a nice trip with alot to see and enjoy.
We had a blast at Kings Dominion!! I got a great rate for my group of 9. We went on every ride we could and the wait time was much shorter than the last time we went, which was last year. I even tried bungee jumping with my husband. I can't wait to go back.
First time to the park and I loved it. Was there all day and stayed for the haunt. The rides were awesome and we had a great day. The only thing wrong was we were told some of the rides were closed due to being short staffed. With a high volume of people expected and a haunt going on I felt there should have been more people on hand so that people get their moneys worth, but totally understand. We were very happy and the haunt was amazing!
Fun place. I d get a fast pass and ride till you hate the rides.
This place has obviously seen better days. Bathrooms are absolutely horrid, I'd rather my kids use a construction site Porta potty....
We loved it !! * tips* during colder seasons dress like it is summer , during summer bring lots of sun screen, money, and just have fun. Restaurants are over priced, but what amusement park isn't. So enjoy time with your loved ones or just yourself.
Always fun no matter how long you stay. Our family prefers packing a picnic lunch to paying $40 for a reheated frozen lunch and then you have extra money for a shirt!
Twisted timbers was so much fun.. super long line though .
I loved my time here! I love the rides and attractions! The place isn't clean and safe and fun and spacious! The staff is nice
Possibly the best of the Cedar Fair family. Cedar Point needs to be more like KD.
Spent a good part of my childhood here, took my children here and the third time's a charm for our grandchildren. The Halloween tombstones with the old rides names on them was a great reminder of time gone by. No regretting here of times gone by, only great remembrances! If you live in Virginia, the season pass deal is very good!
Pretty good, only thing drunks looking at young girls last weekend.
Go on an off day and you will likely have little to no wait on any ride. Awesome coasters!
If you want to go on some rides those places got them.
We chose this campground for its convenience to Kings Dominion. The price was very affordable. The campground is well tended and has trash cans readily available around the park...what a great way to keep the grounds clean! The bathrooms were immaculate: A/C; super clean; smell nice; well lit; conveniently placed; good shower pressure. We had bees nested under our concrete pad. We notified the desk and the Manager came out immediately to inspect. He sent for the appropriate staff, and an Asst. Manager and a woman from the Facilities dept came right out. They got rid of the bees and the Manager came the next day to ensure that the bees were gone and we were satisfied. We were impressed that some staff were wearing ties. We've already recommended this campground to others and will definitely stay here again.
