King's Dominion-Cedar Fair Entertainment Company Review

Opening weekend went pretty well, but sadly Volcano is being demolished.

They have rides, you ride the rides, eat expensive overpriced not so good food and go home.

My first trip was amazing I rode the Rebel yell I screamed my heart out teerified me but loved it

Decent park overall. Rides are okay but didn't satisfy my personal thrill desire. Park was clean, lines were pretty short and staff was nice.

Great time there. Staff were pleasant and the rides were fun.

Affordable, fun, great location, great customer service and they allow semis so it s trucker friendly but no overnight parking. They have a truck stop right across the street or about 7 miles north so plan accordingly and this is a great way to get away from the hustle n bustle.

I've been going to Kings Dominion for as long as I can remember. They never fail to come up with great ideas for the park.

Really cool park, not much wait time for rides. Get the bottled drinks... They don't give lids for the cups.

It was really fun going for Fright Fest. The Intimidator really was crazy. Can't wait to go on it again.

Poor customer service and long wait times. Not friendly to allergies.

Lots of fun but extremely annoyed at the cash grab of removing the ability to place bags in a bin at the "big" coasters, forcing you to buy a $15 locker.

Went there today and was not impressed! I have been going there for 30 years. Things have changed. The staff is terrible and rude. The prices for food is ridiculous. Every single big ride we went to go on was not working. Very disappointed! I can see why the crowds are not big anymore! I have to agree with other reviews about bush gardens; much better of an experience.

This is a great place for a days active family. There is something for everyone at any age. Not at the same level of Disney or Universal In Florida but that is a good thing. There trees to shade you, beautiful walking paths and area's to just sit down and do absolutely nothing. No huge crowds, great eating plan and just a great place to visit.

Very fun good place to go to enjoy time with your family and friends prices are fair (except for the swimming trunks and other beach wear)

Great family park. Helpful staff. Good food. Rides for kids of all ages!! We always have a great time when we go. We'll definitely be back again.

Very painful rides and we felt like there was a complete disregard for our time and money. The newest of rides, the intimidator 305 lead to my husband and I almost blacking out. We had no fun and we felt like a nuisance to anyone we talked to. The kid rides were the most fun we had.

Love the kids rides all in one area and the combo water park. Plus super close to Richmond.

The company I work for organized an event in KD for the winterfest. It was rainy that day but they didn't close the park. Some of the rides were closed due to the rain. With kids in tow, it wasn't as enjoyable as it would be had the weather cooperated. It was nice that they had a family room with all the amenities(bathroom, changing tables, feeding station with high chairs, nursing rooms and a play area. The staff were all friendly. They had catered food(mashed potatoes, chicken, salad, pasta, cookies, chips, soda and hot chocolate) which all tasted good. Three stars just because they could have rescheduled our event due to weather condition.

Kids had fun. I was worn out at the end of the day, that's not a bad thing. But hey guys, some better seating in some shade would be nice! 40 years ago, that heat there well didn't pay attention to it! Now the drinks, could do a little better sizing your all day cup. I'm old larger, perspir a lot, need fluids!see you next year!!!

Some of the rides are quite old and need some technical servicing or something. The Anaconda almost knocked my head loose and left me with bruises. Twisted Timbers is amazing, the best ride in the park. It's almost ridiculously expensive to buy food here. But other than that, it's a fun place to be.

Staff at Season Pass pick was rude and unfriendly. Park was very clean. The other staff was thru out the rest of the park was great.

Some great rides and experiences, although some of the rides could use more staff to move the line along quicker. The steel coasters are especially great!

Very nice staff, cheap entry tickets, expensive food, many rides, though some featured rides were not operational during my visit and many appeared a bit run-down.

Long drive from newport news. Security staff is amazing, lost phone. They assisted in finding it took about an hour and at the end they asked if there was anything else they could help with. Some of the ride staff was so rude we complaint. Customer service was great gave us 10 quick q passes. The park is really nice and clean. A bit overpriced but it's an amusement park so you can't expect to spent less than 3 bucks for boddled drinks. Overall great time. 4 stars due to rudeness and price.

Great family friendly place that's a lot of fun and not that expensive

I enjoyed my visit to this amusement park. My doctors recommended that I don't get on roller coasters so I was able to get on rides that didn't shake me up. This was a family day with my oldest granddaughters' school and the 7 of us had a good time.

Definitely not worthy! this place deserves less than 1 star, is a waste of time and money cause paying 39.99 box just to see lights and people walking around, We were there with my family today and just 2-3 rides were open! And had to wait in long lines to taste food. I understand because of the pandemic everything has change but common.!!

It's just ok. Very average park. All the coasters with the exception of 2 (volcano has been closed for months) and dominator, are ones where you sit in a car. Not very exciting. My husband and I bought dinner and asked for a lid for the container they don't have them, so if you think you might want to save something for later bring ziplock bags. Quite a few rides were not runner including the twisted timber. It started running, 2 hours after the park opened. The big opened late as well. I would suggest Hershey, or Cedar Point. Hubby and I won't be going back any time soon.

We have the season passes. It is really worth the money. Kings
Dominion always does a good job on their seasonal events such as halloween, Christmas and etc. You can even enjoy the water park there during summer break! You won't regret it !

This was my families dirst year to buy the season pass and it was worth every dollar! It includes parking and access to the waterpark, Halloween special, and Christmas special event. So after paying for the season pass we would just go whenever we wanted and it cost nothing unless you bought a drink or food, but it was great entertainment for us!

Great day at Kings Dominion. Weather was perfect. Food lines long and food prices high.

We had a really nice time as a family of 6. Of course food prices where a little high but that was expected.

Was awesome second year they doing the Christmas lights with rides.

I just recently moved from the West coast and North Carolina and everyone has been telling me about this Park. I decided to visit and was pleasantly surprised how much fun this Park really is. Great selection of exciting rides for the entire family! Now I wanna visit other Cedar Fair parks in the area.

Upon walking in the theater I thought, "This is so small, oh well I'll sit through the show." I was wrong, the stage is deep and the play we saw was much better than I would have thought KD would have produced. This ranks as one of the best experiences I have had at the park. The performers were fantastic and I would recommend seeing the shows.

We went here today we pulled in at 6:50pm and the only reason why I come here is for my 2 year old daughter she loves the rides the reason I am giving one star is because tonight none of the kiddie rides were open after 7pm I was on the website before we left the house never said anything about them closing these rides we drove an hour for nothing next time have it on your website if they will be closing planet snoopy early for the Halloween haunt...

Today Kings Dominion has reopened for a Taste of the Season Festival. Will reopen again next spring with a new coaster.

This is a great place to take children for birthdays ever any other special celebration. The month of October is also a great time to visit. Is a great place to visit all year round.

Its a nice place to go while on vacation but, everything costs so much, the rides keep getting delayed and for a first timer its hard to find my way around there aren't any map posts anywhere the only thing I could find was a little paper map.

Kid's had a great time at the rides and restaurants and the waterpark. Tons of fun.

Kings dominion was my favorite park but is dumb how they took the cubbies out and make you pay $5 for a locker every time you need to get in the rides so you can t have drinks nor can you have bags. Is so dumb

So the park is great and has lots of rides for all thrill levels. It is also clean but they should do a better job of restocking the restrooms.

The biggest frustration and why I gave a 3 star is due to the lack training the staff has had. My niece fractured her foot about a week before we were scheduled to go to KD. They put her in a walking boot so we brought a wheelchair for her. What we struggled with is that none of the ride operators knew how to incorporate the handicapped riders with the public. Frequently we had to ask the team member to let her and the wheelchair driver in to ride with us. One staff person told them that they had to wait till 7:30pm for no obvious reason. We had skipped a ride so we could all go together. But yet, we had to scream to get the team member's attention to ask them to let them into the ride to go with us since we had been waiting.

This is NOT Disneyland and you should be prepared for mediocre service. Even though ticket prices are $80pp.

I still have fun here and I am 52. Can't ride everything like I used to but there is plenty to do.

I love going especially with my friends. And the reason why you see people dress the way they do is because it's hot as heck out there. So if you don't like it don't come. But I do think that it is meant for young adults and teens!!! So yeahhh I LOVE KINGS DOMINION!!! (I'm a teenager)

This place is over rated. The food is ridiculously high and not good. Busch Gardens is better.

We come here almost every year. Not many amusement parks can top Kings Dominion in my opinion. The intimidator and twisted timbers are amazing. I do wish there were nicer eating options but overall a great experience.

Great fun for kids and adults. We esp enjoyed the Halloween event, definitely worth staying late for!

Monster truck show here this month!!! Got to sit in them and ride in, lifetime dream for me, my dad and son. Atmosphere and rides always fun ! Season pass definitely worth it and they let me bring waters in for the family with my book bag. The kings dominion app is also great as it gives you wait times and real time walking directions !

Well run, large amusement park, with an amazing collection of unique roller coasters. Where else can you find a giga, an RMC, several awesome launched coasters, a smooth b&m floorless, and several great filler rides that isn't cedar point?

Awesome place. It is good. Dollar days for food and games. Affordable prices.

All rides had the same warnings whether it was true or not.
You shouldn't stop a spinal cord or from having fun with their grandchildren .

The park is pretty clean but the experience getting in/ gate customer service was a train wreck, also places out of food items but you don't know that till you wait in line (multiple spots).

Love the roller coasters the dale earnhart coater was the craziest I've ever been on awesome Halloween event was awesome

We had a great time all the staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. The Halloween Haunt amazing. The lines to the haunted houses was long but well worth the wait.

K.D is a great theme park! Plenty to do with the kids. It s a little expensive but you can always pack food and eat at picnic tables

The rides are fun and safe it's just that they are under staff.
