It was probably the highlight of trip...Chelsea was amazing...the water was invigorating...just a great experience!

My husband and I had a great time! Our guides were Sienna and Brittany, both knowledgeable and friendly as could be. The tubing was so fun. You will spend a good portion of the tubing in tunnels, if you are claustrophobic it is manageable. Not scary, at all. Make sure you wear water type shoes, swim shorts are good as well, as opposed to a regular bathing suit. A small lunch at the end. Enjoy your adventure!

First time doing the river ride, with my daughter. Loads of fun, worth every penny .

Chelsea was our tour guide for the tubing adventure. She was knowledgable, professional, and her jokes were funny. She answered every question our group had, and gave us a little tip for the best fish tacos on the island. This is going to be a lifelong memorable experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for excursions on the island. Thank you again Chelsea and all the rest of the group that helps put together a memorable experience. Mahalo!

Mountain tubing was an AMAZING adventure. The views were breathtaking! Floating through the tunnels was beyond amazing. Damien was our guide and he was very fun and informative. The tour length was just right. Food was yummy. If I am ever back on the island, I will absolutely do this tour again!

Too much fun. Floating along on an innertube through mile long tunnels. Totally mellow yet fun excursion. They provided hard hats with lights and lunch at the end. Worth it for a fun activity but it is not a Once in a lifetime activity either. Just good family fun. Kids loved it!

We had a ton of fun during our tubing experience. Chadd is absolutely hilarious. The other two guides (Cody & I'm not sure her name) were lively and upbeat. They all had us laughing and started our day in the best way.

So much fun! Cody and Chow were awesome! We weren't sure what to expect with this adventure and it completely surpassed our expectations. We will do it next time we are on Kauai! Mahalo! :-)

Great experience! We did a morning tubing expedition, and it was nothing but fun. The entire staff - especially our guide, Joel - did a great job keeping the atmosphere light and happy.
The tubing, the tunnels, the people, the scenery - everything was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Incredible adventure. Our guides were amazing! Damien and Victor were so great as guides. Such nice guys and great guides. I highly recommend the tubing tour through the irrigation tunnels. Zip lining is a must do adventure in Kauai! This was one of our favorite parts of our stay on the island. The tour guides were friendly, hilarious, and knowledgeable and they make you feel incredibly safe and welcome. We wish we would have done this earlier because Drake had several recommendations for things to do and places to eat on the island. We wish we would have done the tubing adventure as well. Next time! If you're having any doubts, just do it. It is totally worth the money and such an incredible experience.

Awesome informative guides, not your typical "touristy" activity or crew.

Jesse and Sherri were awesome! My 5 year old niece freaked out at the beginning and right away Jesse started talking to her and brought her up front with her and calmed her down. After that, my niece was fine and didn't want to get out. They gave her some stickers at the end and were my niece's new best friends. Jesse and Sherri were funny and out going. They made our adventure so much fun! Gloves, helmets and tubes are provided. You can rent Go Pros and they have rash guards available for purchase. I highly suggest bringing one.

This is a must do if in Kauai. Great trip great guides to make it even more fun.

This was a lot of fun but....the porta potties (2) at the top were FULLLLLL TO THE BRIM. Kind of a bummer particularly for the women in the group.

This was a very fun and exciting experience while on the island of Kauai. Michael and Marcus were our local boy tour guides and were as knowledgeable as Google when it came to who, what, when, where, why, and how to do anything on the island. Not to mention there fun loving and joking personality. They made sure that we knew what the dangers were, and what not to do to keep us safe. After instruction it was all fun and cool facts about our trip and the island of Kauai. Highly recommended!

OMG...this was fantastic. Laura our tour leader was amazing, super friendly and just n awesome guide. This is our first "tourist" type event..and it was so worth it! If you get a chance, this is something that you have to do, put it on your bucket list! Highly recommended! Thanks to all at Kauai Backcountry Adventures!!!

Frankly, the water was too chilly for my liking, and it smelt unpleasant. The 2 guides tried too hard for too long to keep the crowd entertained. I know they were just doing their job but they need to know when to stop and give the crowd some peace and quiet. No offence, Kylie and Puncho!

We had a blast with T and BJ as our guides. If you're expecting a crazy river with rapids, you're going to be let down. But if you want a fun tubing adventure that's mostly in the dark, this is it! The warehouse where you meet is pretty visible with plenty of parking. You check in, sign a waiver, and get your gear. DON'T FORGET WATER SHOES, otherwise you'll have to rent Crocs for $5. You need the shoes to protect your feet as you bump along the tunnels. Yes, the van ride to your starting point is very bumpy (it's a backcountry dirt road), but you're doing introductions and getting a run down of the day to keep your mind off it. Once you're at the starting point, you go over some rules and off you go! You can't take anything with you other than your camera with a strap, so don't try. There are five tunnels, and they're AWESOME! You even tube over a small 36" decline for a little thrill. After your tubing adventure is done, you have a quick snack "lunch" (pita bread and deli meat with chips, a cookie, and water) and then you have a 15 minute ride back to the warehouse. Photos are taken along the way and you'll have a chance to see them back at the warehouse. Your guides are there for you and they have a ton of knowledge about where to eat, happy hours, good beaches, etc. All around a great way to spend three hours, REGARDLESS of your age.

Me and my wife had an awsome time tubing with backcountry! Asera and Malachi were phenomenal tour guides, they really went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a memorable experience. The water was a bit "shrinkage-inducing" but probably pretty normal temp for early May. We will be sure to do this tour again when we come back to this beautiful island!

On Monday Kauai Backcountry Adventures was unable to take my granddaughter and friends tubing due to results of Hurricane Lane then were reluctant to give a refund. They wanted them to reschedule which they could not do as they were leaving in 2 days. It took an hour on the phone before they finally agreed to a refund. This is not good business practice. I understand weather has effects on their ability to function, but the need to work with customers is primary.

We absolutely loved the tube ride down the river! We took our 2 kids, 6 & 9, and they had a blast. I m a little claustrophobic so i was a little worried about the tunnels, but it wasn t bad at all. Our tour guide, Johnny, was so nice and funny. Didn t feel like he was giving us a typical tour guide tour. He seemed like he really loves what he does! Chelsea was super nice and informative, glad she went down the river with us! The water is brisk at first, but it s actually very refreshing! All you really need is a swim suit, towels, and shoes that close in the back, and maybe a water proof camera. Highly recommend!

We did the Tubing Expedition and it was a blast. So much fun in the water, surprising not too cold. We had Josh and Andrew as our guides. Really good people.

Great guides who make this adventure so much fun. I would recommend for all ages, families, friend groups. The irrigation canals flow at a nice pace to enjoy. One small drop and guides control the tubes so no one will collide or flip. It was also interesting from a historic perspective and the guides are great for sharing the history of the sugar cane industry.

Kauai Backcountry Adventures is a lazy river tubing ride down the irrigation channels for an old sugar cane field. I enjoyed the tubing, which took 50 minutes. I also loved the driver's 5 minute description of hidden food gems on the island of Kauai (Hula Pie, Pink's, Porky's, Uncle's). His culinary descriptions were great. However, the tour dawdles for the other 170 minutes. We arrived at 12:15 for a "12:30" departure, but that departure time just means you read and sign their silly legal paperwork for 5 minutes and do nothing for 25 more minutes. Then you drive for an hour, tube for 50 minutes, then dawdle for 20 minutes, then drive for 60 more minutes. If this tour lasted 1 hour, it would be much better. The other two and a half hours are wasted.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and wanted to experience all of kauai and they did an amazing job with history and then keeping us well entertained the entire tube ride and on the way back our tour guide johnny gave us everything we needed to enjoy the rest of the island like beaches restaurants and just things we need to do and try! I reccomend it to anyone going to kauai!!!

My wife, friends and I had a blast on our Backcountry Adventures irrigation ditch tour. Keanna was AMAZING!!! She shared both current and past history. She made us laugh and learn all at the same time. All of her fellow employees were equally amazing !!! I will recommend this adventure to all of my friends and the next time that I am back in Kauai I will be sure to schedule another trip with Backcountry Adventures.

This float trip is awesome! Our guides BJ, Maka and Kiona were very informative and very funny. We will definitely be back!!

Pancha ans Less were our tour guides and I had an amazing time with them leading the tour! The trip was so fun and relaxing and exciting and even informative! It was like the best of everything and I would hiiiighly recommend this to anyone of any age. There were kids on our tour as well as older people and we all had a blast!

The tubes were very comfortable and the water was so refreshing! the caves you get to tube through are so cool!

The whole excursion here was really great! The only downside which was not anyone s fault was the rain and clouds had cooled the water down significantly. But after we got used to it, it was really fun for my wife and I on our honeymoon. Would recommend anyone to go to this on their trip.

We had a great time floating and spinning and slipping down the irrigation ditches and tunnels! Our guides (Junior and Drea were our main guides) were entertaining as well as knowledgeable about the plantation we were passing through. They even kept us entertained during the 30 minute drive to the start and finish points. Our youngest member was 6 years old and she had fun in her own tube. Highly recommended!

What a great day we had with Kai and Kip yesterday. These guys made this a fun and safe time. Very personable. They were great with the kids on the float. Tubing and cave exploration rolled into one. We saw parts of the island that you can't get to on your own. It was amazing to see these tunnels that were built by hand over 100 years ago. We would do this again in a heartbeat

This was so much fun. It was a first time trip for a family group of 13 and we all had a blast. My husband didn't come because of reviews online about being claustrophobic and he missed out greatly. He is so bummed he missed out on this beautiful adventure.

Our age group ranged from 10 to 70 and each one of us had said we would do it again. Andrew was our bus guide and Kyle was our driver. Both very nice, funny and hospitable young men. There was other staff I can't remember their names but they all did a great job.

Every single person working here is a sweetheart, such fun and wonderful people to spend an afternoon with! BJ was such a great tour guide, giving all of us an in depth history of all things Kauai. Highly recommend the tubing adventure.

Just great fun with personable guides, especially Mika (sp?). Only suggestion, remind tubers that the 3' "falls" are before the tunnel. Not after, so butts up right away. Mine hit the solid bottom. For a man in his 80's, that means a sore few days ahead!

Tubing was a great fun for the whole family. We learned a lot about the island, its history, and current events with fun tour guides (Wyatt and Brendan). Everyone enjoyed the tubing trip and picnic.

Fun tubing adventure, very chill, this is not white water rapids. Most the time is going through 5 tunnels through the mountain. It was fun and the spot you eat after tubing is a fun place to swim.

This was a BLAST!!! The guides provided background history, information about flora & fauna and got everyone to share a bit about themselves in a fun exchange on the ride to the jumping off point. A unique way to see part of the island's beautiful interior. Lunch was an unexpected healthy meal. Highly recommend this for all ages and abilities! Mahalo!

Hands down! Tubing is a must do activity if you are in Kauai. Special kudos to the guides here who make the trip much more fun and entertaining. I have been to many guided adventures but these folks were the best I have seen so far. I liked how they put effort to let everyone speak out and become interactive among each other. Coming to the tubing adventure, they take you approx ~30mins into the lush dense private land where the tubing canal is located, Stop along the way at a scenic place and take some pictures and then about 1hr of tubing in the water. Then some light sandwiches and snacks after getting out of water.
The tubing canal is amazing and safer. They rightly maintain the level of water of about 3 feet making it kid friendly. In my opinion you don't have to worry about bugs and mosquitoes as this is running water. You will be passing through 5 man-made tunnels in the water making the experience much more enjoyable.

We took the tube floating adventure. Great fun. Nice slow float down the canals. They send you through some cool tunnels and through nice scenery. The guides are very friendly and live aloha. Had a great time!

We went on the lazy river tube trip and it was amazing. Josh and RJ were are 2 main guides and they made the trip super fun. Between the corny jokes and the true knowledge of the islands history and current things to do they made the trip. Make sure to show up with questions about the island a Hawaiian culture because they enjoy informing us tourists. The trip itself was fun the tunnels are up to 1/2 mile long and super cool. The views of the Forrest are awesome as well. The whole staff was very accommodating. Don t plan on bringing anything ie. sun glasses, beverages and other extras. However bring towels and a dry change of cloths and a long sleeve rash guard. They will keep those things in a bud for you. The weather is unpredictable due to rainforest geography. We had a lot of fun on this relaxing float trip. A refreshing trip with beautiful scenery and amazing tunnels to see.

Incredible memory... The guides, especially Makamae was the best!! But all were awesome! They let me take my championship trophy on the tour and made this stop on the championship tour very special! The guides were more than willing to take our photo and help ensure that everyone felt apart of this special moment! A wild yet relaxing ride. Once you're in the water, floating through the tunnels, it can be easy to lose track of time. Definitely do this! However, be warned: for the hour blast down the tunnels there is a half-hour, rough, off-road van ride to and from the river. Great guides, tons of fun, well worth the money.
