Kauai backcountry adventures Review

My wife and I did the tubing tour a week ago. It was awesome! We had Cody as our main guide and he was hilarious! Really cool guy and gave some awesome advice on things to do, places to eat, etc. Boogie and Amaya (not sure if that's spelled right) were also helping on the river and were great as well! Awesome experience!

What a great experience!! Something you would never get to do anywhere else! The guides were great and the scenery fantastic.

John bear was amazing and knew a lot of info about the island and the adventure. He made the experience amazing! So happy I chose to go on this adventure. The tubing was exciting! Thank you John bear and other staff for being so awesome!

We did the Mountain tubing adventure with a party if nine that included my 5 year old son. We all had an excellent time. The tunnels were really cool and the guides are super friendly.

We brought a wet suit for the 5 year old and he never complained about the water temperature. The rest of the group didn't either. The water isn't 90 degrees, but it's plenty warm and plenty refreshing. All nine of us would do it again.

Our main guides, Wyatt and were great. Wish I could float on by for hours. Water is refreshing and I really found the facts they told us about the island itself interesting, including just little Q&A sessions on the way and back. If you always enjoyed the lazy rivers in water parks but wish it was in more natural surroundings, this is your thing. Family friendly as I saw some kids with their own tubes and no one accidentally flipped or anything.

Such a fun experience! The staff makes it totally worth it. We had a great afternoon with BJ and Hollywood as they took us through the tunnels and told stories.

Let me start by saying that any negative things I say in this review should no way reflect on the operators or staff of Kauai Backcountry Adventures. They were all very wonderful and professional. We were all geared up and ready to go on our float tube trip through the old Kauai sugarcane feild irrigation ditches. We had checked in and been taken to the beginning of the tube trip, and even made it through the first tunnel, but then we had to exit the canal due to a rock slide the night before. The crew was amazing and knew before we even got to it that something was wrong by the depth of the water. Luckily there was a log across the canal that should normally be over your head, but with the high water we could not move past it. This is where we were able to exit the canal and had to hike back up to the first tunnel to be picked up by a van to take us back to the headquarters. Jandy was amazing, knowledgeable, and very professional. She took a tough situation and handled like she had had to do it a hundred times. The most negative part were some of the other guest, who were just to self centered and putout by an act of God that they couldn't see how much Kauai Adventures were doing for them and how Jandy was trying to make light of and defuse the situation. The only criticism I will give Kauai Backcountry, is that they should scout out there runs everyday, especially after a few days of rain. So, we never got to see the entire run, but believe me, the next time we are in Kauai we are definitely going back to Kauai Backcountry Adventures. And, the answer is yes, we got a full refund.

Super fun tubing, guides are great and the water is so refreshing!

A blast. I'm sorry I didn't review this back when I actually went, but it was incredible! GREAT value, amazing guides, gorgeous places to explore.

Went on the tubing tour and it was a fantastic experience! The guides were extremely knowledgeable, very pleasant and friendly. Starts with a short trip in their van, with a great commentary by the guides, followed by a quick stop with an incredible view. Then you get to the tubes, and enjoy floating through some super neat tunnels and irrigation ditches. Finished with a quick but hits-the-spot lunch at a beautiful little picnic area. Be sure to give the cat a piece of cheese!

One of our guides, Marcus (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) has a wealth of knowledge about everything on the tour, all the plants (invasive and indigenous) and the history behind the plants as well as the location. He also knows the island incredibly well!

If you have any questions or want to know of some super cool places to check out on your vacation, just ask the guides. They are great and it's a fantastic experience!

Our family has been wanting to do the tubing adventure for many years now, but always seem to forget to book in advance (it fills up fast)... so we finally booked early this year. I thought the price was a little steep, but chose to book anyway. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! It was worth every penny. From the staff to the experience and the beautiful land of Kauai (most people will never see) it was incredible; definately the highlight of our spring break trip. When we come back to Kauai next year, we will for sure do it again.

Tubing in the sugar cane irrigation ditches was extremely fun and the guides made it even better.

My husband and I did this on our Honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing!!! They did a tour with just a little group so there was no crowds, which was awesome! Our Tour guilds were hysterical!! Seriously super fun!!! When we come back we are bringing our son to do this!!!

Pancha and Cody made this experience stellar! We got an incredible history lesson on the ride up, an exciting and safe tubing experience and then a light lunch. We really enjoyed the tour. Pancha and Cody gave us great recommendations for hikes and restaurants too. Thanks so much! You guys rock!

The tubing was not a thrill ride but a fun adventure. It is definitely more like a lazy river which made it better for the whole family at any age. The best part was the tour guides who where very positive and promoted fun.

I did the zipline/waterfall excursion. And what a blast!! Both were equally fun. The ziplining was so much fun and what beautiful scenery. The waterfall hike and swim were great. Guides were fantastic and very knowledgeable

You have to do it when you come to Kauai. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and hilarious; which made the way out and back entertaining. The ride down on the tubes is super relaxing, and at the end, there is a nice pool to take a dip into during lunch.

Yeessssss!!!! Ok but wait. So this adventure requires some independence, not like, you're given a map and off you go, but, you will get separated from your group, you will bump into stuff, you will go into a pitch black tunnel, you're going to get wet, you'll need to walk in and out of the cannal. Be prepared for a solo adventure. So, I've done this twice and each time I've had a blast, like a BLAST! It's very free form though, so if you have littles that cant do things without being right next to you, I would find another thing. The tour guides are the best Evey time, they always have the best places to go visit for the "by Kauai" stuffs, it's where I first heard about pono market and freshshave. You will need tevas or Crocs or some sort of water shoe. Cash for tipping your guides as per usez and a free spirit.

The guides were youthful, funny, interactive, and attentive to our safety. Our family had a great time worth every penny of an experience to always remember.

Loved riding down the irrigation canal. It was a colder, I mean refreshing, day which was unfortunate. Guides were fun and goofy. Really enjoyed the experience although would of been better if the weather had cooperated.

The mountain tubing is dope. It's like river tubing and spelunking got together and made a beautiful mixed baby. Plus the scenery is stunning and you get lunch. What more could you ask for? Oh and the guides were great, Damien especially.

Booked the tubing adventure and loved it. It's just like a ride at Disneyland, but no long wait or line, and lunch is included! The tour guides are funny guys too.

Don't miss out on this little adventure. Ya your stuck in tour with occasionally quarky guides, loud little children and a mix of punks and super christans but you get to see some really cool stuff. Book early these tours fill up super fast.
