We bought the brisket sandwich and it was disgusting, dry to the point it was difficulty swallowing, didn t even eat it. Waste of money and time.

Famous for a reason, but on the pricey side (but there's enough to share between two people, which is great)
Totally worth the wait! I went around 145 on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes outside and 10 min inside for table service. Food came out within a reasonable amount of time and was hot and delicious. Great latkes, matzo ball soup, kugel, and corned beef sandwich. Definitely check it out!
Fantastic food but pretty hostile inside, have to battle for service and a seat
Wow,Wow great food worth the wait in line, great time
Worth the wait. Love the place, our cutter was fantastic. Appreciated the sample before making thr sandwich. Various delicious options, we all loved it.
Movie lovers have to check this place out. Its about a NYC as you get. We enjoyed all the sandwiches we tried
Great sandwiches but a little pricey. Definitely worth the price
Incredible NY staple. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere offers a one of a kind New York experience. Highly recommend.
I live no where near Katz's Deli, so eating here is an occasional treat. My husband and I first came here last summer when I was craving a pastrami sandwich. We decided to make the trek to Katz's to try its renowned (massive) pastrami sandwich. Katz's has been made famous by many movies and tv shows, including When Harry Met Sally ("I'll have what she's having.'") and lots of Food Network shows.
When you walk in the deli, a man will hand you a ticket. Whatever you do, don't lose this ticket, even if you don't plan on ordering anything. This ticket is your way out the door without being charged an additional $50.
My husband and I like to sit in the table service area rather than order at the counter. The counter can get really crowded, and table service provides a comfortable alternative.
I always order a pastrami sandwich on rye with swiss cheese and add a little mustard. It's pretty much perfect. Sandwiches also come with a huge plate of homemade pickles. The fries are really good too.
I know that Katz's is all about the hype, but I genuinely love the food. It's a legendary New York deli for a reason, and we always take our guests from out of town there.
Beef pastrami was sooooooo juicy and tender and succulent
Huge delicious Sandwiches, unless you are ravenously hungry I recommend splitting. Fries are pretty boring.
Its really worth the insantiy. Some days its busy, but maybe you wait 5-6 minutes from entrance to ordering. Sometimes the line starts outside and its snowing and from end of line to ordering is 45 minutes and its still worth it to get a giant pastrami sandwich. It tastes like good quality, it's made with love and I'll always be a fan
Pastrami. Duh. Order at the counter. Be nice to the cutter. Get the pickles. Don't lose that ticket!
Yes, I know it is a NYC institution, but it is filthy and disorganized.
The food is typical Jewish deli fare.
Awesome venue. Clean and huge. Staff is very helpful and accommodating.
Very busy and overwhelming if its your first time. When you walk in they give you a ticket and you pay on your way out. They only accept cash but there is an ATM. If you lose your ticket there is a $50 charge. My wife and I split a pastrami sandwich. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be and definitely not worth $26 but it was a tasty sandwich.
The food was delicious, but the price of the sandwich floored me.
NY iconic food. Simple amazing and you will remember it for a long time, may be forever.
You can't leave NY without stop by , recommend to arrive before 11am , best pastrami sandwich ever
I love this place. Great food and the people are the nicest in all of New York. And now you can order online and have it shipped anywhere in the US.
In and out in a NY's minute with my belly full! Had the matzo soup and the pastrami sandwich (a classic), loved the pickles. I loved the simplicity, the flavor, you can feel the love that the owners of this iconic restaurant put in to everything they make. If you are wondering if this NY landamark is a must, yes, yes it is! take the time to go, it may look busy but believe me you won't hav eto wait too long and you will leave happy.
This is a must do visit when in New York. Arrive hungry. Don't lose your pink ticket. Pick a cutter and get in line behind the top jar. Tip your cutter.
Can highly recommend the meat platter and chips. Chips are from the furthest end to the front.
Great range and food tasted amazing! I ordered a half pastrami on rye with salad and was amazed by the size of everything, even having seen reviews! The pastrami was warm, and the salad was fresh. Great value for money, efficient service and easy to find a table, even during peak times. Even with all the chatter in the room, you can still easily have great conversation. Well worth a visit and to come back to again and again.
I had a great time. Services was amazing. Food was good.
Yep, it's an institution and a tourist trap but damn if that pastrami sandwich doesn't hit the spot, late night when you come out of a show. And the folks behind the counter are great, so tip em.
very good, about 15 minute wait 30-45 it is a busy day, the food is very good, sometimes the waiters might forget to get something you asked for because its so busy, just ask them again
The pastrami was absolutely delicious! We went early on a Sunday so we didn't have to wait in the crazy line. It's still a little confusing, but I think we may have been hungover pastrami omelette is the way to go. Even the coffee was good. You get the ticket and they just write the amount of money you owe on it, then when you leave you pay that amount. Done deal. Super delicious. Go there.
We sat at the table where Harry met Sally. The food is delicious. I wasn't expecting to buy a $25 sandwich.... But the sizes and taste are well worth the price. Large enough to split with my sister. All the staff was very warm and welcoming... Like we were all family.
If you don t know, get too know!! NYC staple. Best salt beef bagel ever!
We came here after watching man vs food and the hype is justified. The food is amazing, probably the best sandwich in the world, quick and great service. The pastrami is so juicy and tender it will leave you in a food heaven. Must see and eat when in Manhattan.
Best pastrami on the planet. Love the atmosphere here.
It's kinda expensive but worth trying at least once.
The best pastrami sandwiches. Although it's a few bucks more, I always ask for a lean cut. Worth every penny.
My top favorite deli in the world. I may eat at one of the other great places in new york city, but Katz is always on my list to eat at 100% no compromise.
The quintessential New York Kosher deli, with pastrami sandwiches stacked up as high as the eye can see. The environment is great no matter if you're a native New Yorker or this is your first time visiting the city. Make sure to hang onto your meal ticket, or you'll have to pay $50 for losing it.
NY institution. If you come around lunch time expect to wait a half hour, however, it's totally worth it. Killer Reuben, bar none, the best. Great pickles.
$20 for a pastrami sandwich. Best $20 I've ever spent!! It was busy as hell but soooo worth it! Just listen to the instructions being yelled at you and you'll be fine! Would definitely recommend!!!
Lovely! Didn t have a breakfast this morning but I m no longer hungry already with half of my Pastrami sandwich !
If you are in a hurry.. forget about it..Great historical significance so Its a must go if u have never been. Pastrami is the best I have had in awhile.
Great pastrami sandwich, try it with coleslaw its awesome.
I. LOVE. KATZ!!!! My favorite is the pastrami sandwich with american cheese and mustard. Pastrami is delicious! A must go place to eat!
It used to be special, now it's another tourist trap, overpriced as most restaurants places are here in the "Baked Apple"!
The quality isn't what it was!
I sincerely was hoping the quality was still there, which it wasn't & never will be again!
Gary Roth (Dr Lafter) living on West 43rd Street off 8th Avenue!
Lively atmosphere which can be a little chaotic at busy times. The pastrami was excellent, although huge; would recommend one sandwich between two, especially considering it'll set you back $20
It is an amazing restaurant, I would be happy, if I eat from it everyday. Pastrami and corn beef
Send a salami to your boy in the army. Phenomenal pastrami. A little pricey, and cash only, but worth eating.
$18 corned beef and pastrami sandwiches that are worth the price for the taste and experience. Sweet and sour pickles are a must too.
Food was good, not amazing. Decor is what it is. its were Harry Met Sally. Big whoop. Shared a sandwich, 1 French fry, 1 salad two Can sodas over $31.00. If food was priced reasonable I would visit this place again. But it's a once in a lifetime thing. People are like sheep they follow the trends.
The Rueben was so delicious. The meat was tasty and generously portioned and they didn't put too much sauerkraut on the sandwich.
This is the promised land. It doesn't get better than Katz's. On weekends, go before 9 AM if you want to avoid lines out the door.
Had corned beef sandwich and split pea soup. Absolutely delicious. Friendly staff. You can get your own food or have table service. Great experience
I've grown up on the Lower East Side been to Katz years ago boat loans it runs it now food quality and food taste is not there
What can you say. Best corned beef and pastrami ever
Great deli, a bit pricey, but big portions. Get a sandwich to share!
I haven't been there in years but it still is the BEST pastrami Rubin that I ever ate. Service was top notch as always and can't wait to get a chance to go back again
This is it! Ground Zero of New York Jewish Deli. The sandwiches are HUGE and the quality and cuts of meat are the best. The crowds are also spectacular. Nevertheless, they all add to the atmosphere. A wonderful New York experience.
A must try place if you want something unique. They let you try a slice of meat before you order so you know you'll get something you like. Can get very busy so be prepared for a little wait.
The famouse "I'll have what she's having" scene from Where Harry Met Sally was filmed here. The seat is clearly marked so you can sit there if you like.
For the first time in 20 years my pastrami sandwich was not good and I travel from New Jersey called and talked to the manager will get credit on my next visit
Well worth the wait. The line seems long but moves quickly. If you are with a group, have someone grab a table unless you want table service (waiter or waitress). If not, get in line in front of a cutter number and figure out what you want. All portions are huge and a sandwich can feed two people. Best pastrami sandwich ever!!
Always crowded but they're so efficient, the wait isn't long and definitely worth it
On the pricey side but definitely the best pastrami sandwich in Manhattan
I like this place. Its one of those greasy places you learn to love here in NYC. The sandwich was really big and filled with meat so that was a plus. The place is so busy that it is like eating in the subway.
I had a to die for sandwich in there. This is a fairly large, high volume, always busy, somewhat pricey ($20 for a sandwich?) place which is a fixture in New York dining experience.
Awesome deli! Always packed, very friendly staff, the pastrami sandwich is huge and super tasty. Not the cheapest, but still affordable and fair for the excellent quality of meat you get.
I never forget the shoues rip great place to eat order the noodle pudding and the stuffed cabbage and the derma 2 sometimes I like the liver or a chicken diner I have a lot of cash and I clean up so they don't have to I wear all blue and check out my channel I have all the skills most don't care to notice cuz there jealous money smells like mustard and relish I'm the new Elvis I put some small portion of velvet on a collard shirt my stick don't work
You get a ticket on your way in. Go to the counter and order. Went for a roastbeef sandwich with a sweet and tasty russian sauce, and a Katz Ale. The ale and the roastbeef was ok. The portion feels richer then it looks. Worth a try if you havent been here. Will probably go for the Pastrami if visiting again.
First time here and had corned beef on rye. Very tender not fatty sliced just right. Food taste very fresh. Upon entry, a ticket is issued and proceed to the counter (Cutter) multiple cutters about 7 lines. Place order with Cutter and pickup and proceed to cashier with ticket. On way out the door give ticket and receipt to Doorman as proof of payment. Or you can sit in dining area and eat. Pretty large eating space. Sandwiches are costly $20+ well large portion. Very busy and worth the trip.
The sandwiches are great, but very pricy ($20+). Expect a wait because it's a very popular place. Definitely worth experiencing, but I'm not sure I'll return there because of the prices.
Went hear during our holiday vacation in New York. Thanks to my cousin for bringing us there
A New York landmark worth visiting so that means tons of tourists. Remember it's cash only and keep the ticket the security staff hands you. The Pastrami sandwich is worth getting as it is tender and quite mouth watering. I recommend getting the pastrami if this if your first visit but the brisket and the matzoh ball soup are worth an honorable mention.
The absolute best corned beef sandwich on the planet! A must spot if ever in NY and line worth waiting in.
I've been here so many times since the 70's .I've never been disappointed yet.highly recommend the pastrami on Rye with brown mustard.the prices are high but you get a lot of good quality food.the service sucks at times especialy during busy hours but for me its the food that matters most.everyone should come here at least once.
