I have gone in here twice to get my wedding ring cleaned and they were always nice and efficient. When one of the diamonds on my band became loose I took it here to get a quote to repair. The diamond wasn't lost, just needed two small prongs replaced. They quoted me at $224. I went across the street to Joe Koen and Sons to get a 2nd opinion...$60. I will be using Joe and Sons for all future cleaning, repair, and new jewelry purchases I make!

Service, quality, and integrity make this an Austin jeweler worth the challenges of parking downtown. My grandparents, parents, myself, and my children have been satisfied customers at Kruger for jewelry, having found that the value and integrity here are excellent. No chain retailer or high end designer establishment can care for their customers like David and his professional staff. After shopping for special jewelry elsewhere, we always make this our final stop and inevitably find the gem stone selection, pricing and quality superior.

I've been a customer of theirs for ~6 years. They helped my wife and I select some jewelry that really suited us and our style. And they were super helpful when we asked for recommendations to get some of it repaired (from an accident) in another city.

I especially want to call out Courtney Estevez, who cleaned some of those pieces the other day AND repaired a piece that we bought elsewhere for no charge! That was pretty awesome.

I had a ring stuck on my finger such that no amount of compression, soap, ice water or windex could get it off.
Luckily the people at Kruger's cut off the ring for me, free of charge, and referred me to a nearby jeweler who resizes silver. Very grateful to have both my finger and my ring intact.

I local favorite! Always helpful staff to assist with whatever you may need. Even simple stuff like adjustments. Michelle helped me with a resize on a watch band. In and out in no time. Thank you so much!

My recent dealings with David Kruger of Krugers Jewelry and his employees has been one beyond belief in integrity, courtesy, kindness and value...Knowing of their longtime presence in Austin, I called for info and later visited the store that day which was an extraordinarily good experience...they were aware of exactly what I was wanting to purchase for my grandson's engagement, had it on hand and ready to show me with a great valued price already calculated....their trusting attitude was beyond my belief...obviously, they will get my recommendation to others without reservation...I truly had a very plus, plus experience in dealing with each and all of them....

These people are so nice and they really care about the community. I brought in my watch to have the battery changed. I brought my own battery and they didn't even charge me! Courtney was very nice and helpful!

I called Kruger's seeking guidance when my trusty Seiko SNK809k2 automatic field watch stopped functioning properly. The friendly lady I spoke with, Courtney, was beyond helpful, not to mention patient, she directed me to Austin Classic Watches for repair, which I then did. Voila, problem solved! I so very much appreciate Kruger's, they are (and will continue to be) an absolute mainstay here in Austin Texas.

Charlotte was so friendly when I picked up my freshly polished, stone secured, gorgeous sparkly Blue Topaz ring. I even rode my bike to go pick it up as I live close to downtown, no worries....Not snobby at all---LOVE LOVE LOVE Kruger's! My husband got me my ring here last year, he grew up here and it was his first and only choice. I *think it has been family owned and run since 1927...They are definitely doing something right :)

This place is exactly why you go to a jewelry store instead trying to figure it out for yourself online. I went in to see if they could repair a watch of mine, turns out it was just a battery issue. They replaced it right there on the spot in about 5 minutes and it only cost me about $12 (versus closer to $40 for other jewelers I had called about a repair). Michelle C was great!

Everyone whom I've worked with here to maintain my vintage watch collection has been so helpful over the years. They are gracious and generous if it's just a small adjustment needed. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the store itself has lots of history (with a great location). I highly recommend Kruger's for your timepiece needs.

My husband and I chose Kruger's to replace the wedding ring he lost while fishing. Michelle was a great help. She made sure the new ring was sized correctly. We could not be happier with the ring and the service was exceptional. Three years later ring is still in his finger even with fishing trips.
We'll definitely visit Michell when we add an anniversary ring to my bridal set.

Amazing customer service, I just walked in to get my watch battery replaced and Paul did not charge me anything for the service. Certainly rare to find customer service as a top priority in today's market. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs jewelry, watches, etc!

Courtney Estevez is the epitome of good customer service. I went in for a watch battery and while it was being replaced Courtney had my rings cleaned. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I'll be back.

I have not felt so personally offended and belittled by ANYONE in a very very long time the way David Kruger did.

I am down on my luck due to recently becoming disabled.
I called and told him I had several very small loose diamonds I wanted to sell (they came from gold rings and a bracelet we sold to a pawn shop the last time we were in a hard spot)

Upon arriving, a very nice man met us and began looking at the diamonds...
Then Mr. Kruger himself came to help out...
He just looked at them very quickly, stated he would not be able to do anything with them and said he wouldnt spend his time, then turned around and left without another word.

I know they are very small diamonds, but his demeanor and tone of voice made me feel like I was just a nobody there just to waste his time.

He's right, I am a nobody.
Just a previous customer who he was VERY nice to while he was SELLING TO ME lol...
He did not introduce himself, ask my name, show any sympathy for my situation, say hello or goodbye, he did not even say anything like "sorry I cant help you, have a good day"

I thought you treat customers with courtesy AND respect whether selling or buying.
I guess he does not feel that way.

My parents have spent thousands in his store over the years, and my mother suggested I go there to try to sell my diamonds...
If I ever do have money to spend on jewelry again, DAVID KRUGER WILL NOT GET ONE RED CENT OF IT!!

My fiance' and I designed a ring at Kruger's Diamond Jewelers and couldn't be happier. It is absolutely gorgeous. They do such wonderful work there. We met with Dallas to help us with the design and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was informative, patient, and flexible. The entire process was fantastic and we are pleased with the end result!

No one is better. in 2007 they helped us choose a ring that would work with my wife's occupation and also look and feel they way she wanted. The ring was full of small diamonds and a princess cut diamond in the middle. The ring designer is from Hong Kong looked absolutely incredible and there is no other ring like it. We loved it. after several years some of the smaller diamonds fell off of the main ring. We put the ring to the side and always said we would take it back to get the small diamonds replaced, it took 7 years but we needed to get the ring re-sized smaller and also inquired about getting the diamonds replaced. Mr. Kruger himself told me not to worry about the small diamonds that they would replace them at no charge but told me to make sure to come in every 6 months to get everything re-tightened and cleaned. This was a great surprise to me and made my wife's birthday a great one because she could wear her ring again with pride. Thank you Kruger's for going above and beyond. I will never buy jewelry from any one but Kruger's!

I can't give this store a -10. It does not let me post it unless I have at least a star. I looked for a reputable jewelry store and Kruger's had very good reviews. I am disabled because a doctor made a mistake and damage my brain. I lost my job on January. 2018. I have some jewelry my parents gave me when I was 18. The ring cost $1000.00. on 1974. He asked questions that did not have anything to do with appraising the ring. He told me he could pay $500.00. Mr. Paul, as far as I know diamonds and gold have gone up.

Excellent service! I needed two watch batteries replaced & Holli not only did it right on the spot, but was extra speedy just so I wouldn't exceed my 15 min. parking limit. I will definitely be back for all my jewelry needs.

I came in visiting from New York when my watch band hinge fell out. Luckily Kruger s was close. It is such a nice place reminding me of how my home town with its stores was like growing up. Walk in and folks are helping people.

Yesterday I came in to sell a couple gold items (it was my first time selling my jewelry). It took forever to find parking, but Mr. Kruger graciously agreed over the phone to stay a little past his usual time (2:30 pm) for the appraisal. Although I really appreciated this accommodation, I did not appreciate his incredibly condescending demeanor and tone. One of his other employees joined in on the mocking as well. Very unprofessional.

In my culture it's important to be respectful of your elders, so I bit my tongue, smiled, and remained courteous. After leaving the store though, I regretted selling any of my jewelry to these people. I should have left the store immediately, but I'm in a bit of a time crunch. Since I graduated in May, I've been downsizing for my move to SA (my parents are turning my room into a gym after I move this Wednesday). Everything that I have no use for -big or small- has got to go. I'm donating the majority of my belongings, but figured I could get a little pocket change for my gold pendant and white gold ankle bracelet. I'll be starting my job right after I move and won't have time to do errands like this.

The price that he gave me was decent, but I'm sure I could've received more from another place. I made no fuss though because I don't have time to go to every single jeweler in Austin before the move for a mere extra $30. Just to be clear though, my 1-star rating is a result of being disrespected and mocked, not the money.

I'm not sure if Mr. Kruger was rude because he took me for some naive little girl without a pot to piss in or if his snarkiness is just one of his many lovely innate attributes. His last snarky comment that was made as I was walking out the door (yes, I heard you Mr. Kruger), was the icing on this shitcake of an experience. I -as well as all of my Austin-based family and friends- will not be spending a single cent at your store from here on out.

I've had a few pieces repaired here and a watch battery changed. This place is an Austin institution. Good selection, historic vibe on a great corner, and friendly staff. I most recently worked with Courtney and she was super helpful in pricing out a ring resize and watch battery replacement even though I walked in minutes before closing. I'll be back.

While visiting Austin this weekend for a wedding, I unfortunately brought my only watch without a working battery!? A visit to Kruger's did the trick and the lovely lady did it complimentary for me! Such a delightful surprise.

I called krugers to ask about an appraisal on a 1 carat diamond ring and was told Mr. David Kruger would do an appraisal for free. He looked at the ring for about 3 seconds and said he did not want to buy it--and did not give me any written appraisal info at all. Nothing about size--quality--clarity not a word on paper. All his free appraisal was, was a chance for him to get to buy it-what a waste of my time to go down town for a 3 second non appraisal--SHAME ON YOU DAVID KRUGER--you suck!!!

Kruger's has the absolute best customer service! I brought my ring in last week to be resized and they had it ready for me less than 24 hours later. I was unable to pick it up during their allotted time-frame, so their employee, Michelle, literally brought it to my office and delivered it to me personally! The quality of their work is stellar and my ring is more beautiful now than it's ever been. Everyone on staff is incredibly kind, helpful, and super accommodating! I will remain a loyal customer for as long as I live in Austin.

I cannot say enough good things about Krugers! I called to get pricing on diamond stud earrings for my mom and spoke with the owner. He was genuine, kind, and discussed all the options. When I arrived the next day who knew exactly who I was and helped me pick out the perfect pair of earrings at an exceptional price and MUCH better quality compared to chain jewelry stores. I am so excited to give these earrings as a gift to my mom and thank the entire Kruger's staff for making this possible. If you are in the market for new jewelry, I highly recommend Krugers!

If you can, try to always shop local. I am stuck between two rings, one here and one at another shop. I have come in several times and they are always willing to spend time with us. Paul has answered all of our questions and shown us several diamonds. Very low pressure sales and accommodating. They have the best prices out of anywhere we have been and guarantee all of their work. Highly recommend them!

I was extremely impressed with the great customer service provided to me by Sam Cisneros, the professional jeweler at Kruger's, and the rest of the staff at Kruger's Jewelers. I took in a gold chain to be repaired, which unfortunately turned out to be not as authentic as I thought which complicated the repair process. I was made aware of this by Sam, and despite the potential difficulty of fixing the chain, he graciously repaired my necklace for me, free of charge! I really appreciate the great customer service I received at this establishment, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a jeweler. Thank you Kruger's Diamond Jewelers! :)

My wife and I went shopping for her wedding ring here. They had a good selection that we were able to choose from and found one that she just loved. They have very friendly staff that isn't pushy or rude and made the experience a delight. Overall, this is my new go-to local jewelry shop. Went in on Friday to have a watch battery changed. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Courtney greeted me right away to see my need and was happy to change the battery while I waited. The store was comfortable to have a seat while she replaced the battery and it was done in no time. It was a very pleasurable experience and I'll be back.

UPDATE: Went back to get a new battery in another watch on Fri (since the customer service was so good the week prior) and this time I was greeted by Michelle. She was equally as friendly as Courtney and had my watch working in no time. In talking she learned that I had just moved to Austin from Chicago and when I asked how much for the battery replacement, she said it was on the house and welcome to Texas! I thought that was really nice and will definitely visit again.

I put out a request for bids on Yelp and within 10 minutes I had a response from the owner. It was so friendly, I decided to try them out.

Sure enough, the place is just as I expected. I was greeted warmly by a girl in the front. She reassured me they could easily fix my broken watch band. And sure enough, they did! For free.

This place was awful and money-grubbing. They were very rude and dishonest unfortunately. They will try to make it seem like you're getting a good deal- but it's their sleezy sales tactic. Please, please, please don't trust them. They tried to take advantage of me and my finances. They made me waste my lunch break to come out because they wouldn't give me a repair price over the phone or email. They wouldn't even give me a round about rate. I understand that you can't guarantee a rate, but out of common courtesy it would be nice to have a range of possible rates before I even wasted the gas. When I got there, they wasted my time and told me that I'd have to pay EXPONENTIALLY more than any other jeweler I've been to. Also, they had a pricing sheet in their shop. Why couldn't they have told me the rates when I asked to save me a trip? They were clearly focused on sales rather than customer service. I don't know how they've stayed in business for so long operating this way. It's very sad to see. I hope they work on their customer service skills a little more.

The staff at Kruger's are down to earth and always helpful. I have been on a number of occasions and would highly recommend them for gem stone consultations, minor watch repairs (simple fixes done in shop in five minutes at no charge!!) and major watch repairs.

I've been going to Kruger's for years mainly for ring cleaning, but also jewelry customization and this time to restore my dad's old watch for my husband. As always, they were super friendly (thanks, Holli Maxwell!) I've had nothing but good experiences there.

Fantastic customer service. I needed some jewelry appraisals done for insurance purposes so stopped in to Kruger's after hearing good things from a friend. Paul the gemologist was extremely patient and knowledgeable while helping me out. Both times I went, I was able to walk in and get service with no appointment and no waiting. I began my search for my fiance's engagement ring of September '08 and finally made the purchase in December of '08. I went to at least 10 other jewelers around Austin and 2 online. I must have come in and out of Krugers over 20 times before making my purchase and I never once felt rushed. I even went as far as making a purchase from an online jeweler and bringing the stone into the store for Mr. Kruger to take a look at. After being very professional and in no way pushy, it became clear to me why buying a stone at Krugers was a better deal. Not only was Krugers able to aggressively compete with an online diamond wholesaler, they provided a level of service that no other jeweler could compare to. They continue to provide great service after my purchase. I bought our wedding rings with Krugers as well and will continue to come to Krugers for all my jewelery needs.

Also, I have to give my props to Zoey! She is professional, courteous and goes the extra mile to make sure you leave knowing you made the right decision.
