This place is amazing. The pastrami sandwich is full of flavors. Without any extra additional of condiments, the meat itself tasted great. I tried the brisket also, it was tender and juicy. I liked the pastrami more. There are different bread types and you can add extra cheese. The sandwich is little expensive, however the portion is big and makes you full. They offer tasting samples while preparing your sandwich. They sell their cooked meat selection by pound also. You can order a side of steak fries or potato salad, make it a shared palate as it is another big portion. I tried the blueberry cheese cake, i found it average. Great experience.

I have been going to Katz s deli all my life. I moved out of the city years ago so it had been a while. I was so happy to find out that they still make the best sandwich in the world. The corn beef and pastrami are of course a must-have. Beyond these two exquisite experiences, I recommend you try the tongue. It is such a slice of favorable meat. Esn gezunt.

This place is expensive but trust me, it is worth it. Amazing corned beef and pastrami, just amazing, worth it. It is always packed because this is a famous spot, so be prepared to deal with a lot of people.

This place is known for serving up the best pastramis in New York and it does not disappoint! Had the Katz hot pastrami and it was just too good. This is definitely among the best places to eat at in your trip to New York. Quite a que at the place which is not a surprise.

I'm not a huge fan of pastrami or rubens. That's apparently what this place is famous for. Going in a group, their order system is designed to help their business efficiency, not for patrons. You get separated in clusters that don't resemble lines at the order counters and it causes food to be ready at wildly different times. I ordered a chilli dog and a grilled cheese. My friends got a pastrami sandwich. None of the orders came with fries or any side. You had to order that at yet another counter. The pastrami sandwich I was told was filling, which for over $20, I would hope so; however my items were not. By the time we finally ate my food was ice cold, the grilled cheese was average and the fries were barely acceptable.

My friends said the pastrami was the best they ever had in their lives so it's got that going for it.

Needless to say, the bill of fare for two people was over $50. This place may be famous but unless your a die hard deli fan with loaded pockets and dining alone, I would avoid this place.

PS, while they are very up front about this, don't lose your ticket or you must pay $50 to exit. I strongly dislike the ordering system here but that's their prerogative.

Katz's is a great and friendly place to enjoy a not so fancy but fulfilling sandwich or other great meals. At anytime of the day or night. The deli butcher let's you try before you buy and are very generous.

Iconic place, you absolutely have to go there! I can only recommend the pastrami sandwich on rye (23 $), it's huge and delicious. Don't loose the ticket that they give you at the entrance, otherwise you'll pay extra.

You come to NYC, you can't not get a sandwich here. You will not get a better Reuben or Pastrami sandwich anywhere. It's a large restaurant with plenty of seating. You can go the fun route of ordering your food at a cutter or the easy route and get a waiter/waitress. Everyone is nice, but direct, so be ready to order!

Truly a site to be seen. Once you get past all the people and tourists there's some mighty fine meat here. Very juicy and tender. In this case had the traditional Pastrami, but made it a combo with the corned beef. Thick and tender. Better than their 2nd outpost at Dekalb Market, but it should be as this is the original. They piled up pickles on the side as well.

FYI - When you step in you MUST get a ticket and DON'T lose it as it's essentially your meal ticket where they not down what you owe. You eat first and pay when you leave. If you don't have it, you'll have to pay more. When you enter through a roped path you pick a lane at a cutting station to place your order. Drinks are past the cutting lines on the right. You can pay with credit card in back and cash up front. There's more seats around the food station if you make a right turn which is also towards the kitchen and restrooms.

Iconic place. Go eat. NOW.

Had the dog which was good but nothimg really special, perhaps pastrami is the real special here. An iconic place with history and good cause so worth a try I guess. Always busy and crowded

If you have never been here, you don't know what pastrami should taste like. It is no joke out of this world juicy and seasoned perfectly. Every time I am given the sample before my order is made, I am crushed by the knowledge that when I go home to San Diego, I can never find a pastrami sandwich that is as good as Katz's. I know too much.

You won't get a better sandwich in New York. The pastrami is perfectly cooked and there is plenty of it. The food and drink is well priced when you compare it to other locations across the city, but few of them will match what this establishment does. It is famous for a reason, put it on your 'must visit' list.

Food was good. But the experience was not. So first, you have to get a ticket upon entry so they can write down all the things that you purchased. The emphasis is not on the process for getting the food however it's on not losing your ticket because you can't leave without the ticket. Next there was a separate line for everything. There's a line for the sandwich, a line for fries and drink, there's a separate line for potato pancakes, there's a separate place for getting water, and a different line to get beer or something from the grill. It was very confusing and I felt like I was out of place by the time you get all of your food from all the different places your sandwich is cold because that's the first place that you stopped. All that being said the sandwich itself was tasty the potato pancakes also tasty. I love the food however I probably would not go back just because I can't deal with the chaos. And did I mention that one sandwich two drinks and an order of potato pancakes was almost $50.
