Packaged more beautifully than the content really is. I don't know what it is, but everything that looks old and is in a domain is quickly labeled in Belgium as a castle. It is a beautiful hunting lodge, but to see this as a castle you still have to have some imagination.

On arrival we are received by the lady of the reception who is also the hostess, she was very friendly and explained everything to perfection.

We were assigned a room on the 2nd floor room 17. Nothing to be found of a castle interior, but a spacious bedroom with strangely enough a passage to an open bathroom with a design that would give Jan de Bouviers crooked toes with no privacy at all moreover it was very poorly finished. Such as a glued, too small mirror on the wall with an associated open and exposed 230V terminal block. No shower curtain and towel rack. Not to mention the bright red two-seater sofa that stood in the same room. To top it all off, a wine bottle cork glued to a cupboard door that served as a handle. Does not match the appearance that the building makes you suspect. What a missed opportunity.

The installed air fresheners (two pieces) that had to hide the sewage air in the room were probably empty for a year after inspection. Room may smell fresh in its mist. Better yet, fix the problem.

The breakfast was excellent this has to be said. Lots of choice and fresh rolls and fillings. In the breakfast room I had the feeling that I was in a castle because of the attractive interior or was I imagining this because I was looking for the fairy tale .....

4 stars is way too ambitious.

Together with a cousin planned a weekend in Maastricht. At Groupon we came across a nice offer for Kasteel Pietersheim. Two nights including breakfast. Everything looked neat, clean and nice. Receptionist, also the hostess, was very friendly and explained everything to perfection. Nice that there is also a lift present next to the beautiful, but creaking stairs.
Breakfast was not very extensive, but certainly more than enough: various meats and cheeses, sweet fillings, boiled egg, scrambled eggs and bacon, various flavors of yogurt and cereals, croissants, mini pistolettes and delicious, among other things, freshly baked (pumpkin seed) bread. Various flavors of tea, coffee, milk, juice and fruit water as drinks. There was also a fruit bowl with some apples, oranges and bananas.
The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but if you are hungry, there are a few restaurants nearby and of course home delivery is also a solution.
Room further fine, including a fridge, kettle and hair dryer. A cupboard with an extra pillow and blanket. Beds spacious enough, mattress did collapse, but I slept well. TV has limited number of channels.
In the bathroom there was hand soap, small tubes of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. What I found special is that there was also a heating in the bathroom. Also nice that the mirror had makeup lighting.
