Harry Bos Review of kasteel Pietersheim

Packaged more beautifully than the content really is. I don't know what it is, but everything that looks old and is in a domain is quickly labeled in Belgium as a castle. It is a beautiful hunting lodge, but to see this as a castle you still have to have some imagination.
On arrival we are received by the lady of the reception who is also the hostess, she was very friendly and explained everything to perfection.
We were assigned a room on the 2nd floor room 17. Nothing to be found of a castle interior, but a spacious bedroom with strangely enough a passage to an open bathroom with a design that would give Jan de Bouviers crooked toes with no privacy at all moreover it was very poorly finished. Such as a glued, too small mirror on the wall with an associated open and exposed 230V terminal block. No shower curtain and towel rack. Not to mention the bright red two-seater sofa that stood in the same room. To top it all off, a wine bottle cork glued to a cupboard door that served as a handle. Does not match the appearance that the building makes you suspect. What a missed opportunity.
The installed air fresheners (two pieces) that had to hide the sewage air in the room were probably empty for a year after inspection. Room may smell fresh in its mist. Better yet, fix the problem.
The breakfast was excellent this has to be said. Lots of choice and fresh rolls and fillings. In the breakfast room I had the feeling that I was in a castle because of the attractive interior or was I imagining this because I was looking for the fairy tale .....
4 stars is way too ambitious.
