I'm really sad. I cried my first entire night. They told me over the phone that there was a kids program, not at all! Only in the summer. My son is 5, I cane for a break & to let him play with others since he's an only child. What am I missing? I'm stuck here all week & basically I have to go into the city to do anything. No family movies night. No shows. No events. No kids program. Nothing. Just a pretty hotel. You can get that anywhere. When I advised I was misinformed & over 14 hours away from home and thousands in debt, they offered $50/day credit. Its 6 of us. What will that buy here. I'm just heartbroken on this family vacation. The water isn't very warm. And I'm stuck inside this room-thats just mediocre-Embassy is better. Beds are hard, not comfortable at all. Pillows very mushy. Nice TVs. Nice decor. But that's it. This place is not kid friendly
I have a 14 year old & besides an 3xpensive game room & some old pool tables there was nothing for him. I simply don't get the hype. Its just an ok hotel. Not even a shuttle that goes out a few times a day. I feel like a fool. Do not bring kids here. Very expensive. Not inclusive of anything-not even evening snacks or a cookie like Doubletree. Please save yourself the trouble & time. If it rains, you're screwed. You're better iff at Hyatt or anywhere else. Even the Embassy would be better bc they give free breakfast & afternoon happy hour-rooms are also bigger. There's not even an indoor spa or pool here. Everything outdoors. So please save your money. Do the research. Now I'm more depressed than when I came on vacation.

This is a notworthy resort. The room and patio was so dirty. When complained, they took no action. Even after multiple complains, nothing was done. To add to it, the balcony was full of leeches and insects. These also cam inside the room, and eventually I fell highly allergic to this environment. I am never ever gonna come back to this place. The leadership offered 1000 points for this inconvenience, are they really serious?

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Even though I was there for a work related seminar and didn't get to use all the fun amenities, but the hotel itself, the grounds, the staff, the service, and everything else was up notch.
I would like to visit this hotel in San Antonio again and really enjoy all they have to offer.

If visiting the resort, do not type in the address, but the name of the resort. Otherwise you will end up in a nearby neighborhood, and will have to find someone taking out their garbage to help you out like I had to. Glad I was not late for my conference.

This is my 6th time here with my fmily. We have been here both during the summer and in December. I typically find the place to be very clean. This time around I have noticed trash in the pool area and numerous fixtures that needed minor repair. I hope they are working on making these small repairs and clean ups. I really enjoy bringing my family here and hope to continue you to.

This hotel is amazing. They really make it easy to vacation or just spend a few days on business meetings. The process from arrival at valet to check in was expedient. It took all of 10 minutes from arrival to the point I was in my room relaxing.

We had a staycation here for the 4th of July upon our arrival to our room we noticed we did not have any robes, we called and requested them and after several hours they still had not been brought up to the room so a second call this time speaking to a manager we were told some would be sent up, they never were.
Slightly disappointing, but I do want to give great customer service bravo Zulu to Frank (captain amercia socks) for a job well done, it was clearly a holiday and his pool side service was top notch and pool side service workers were crazy busy, but Mr. Frank made it seem easy and ALWAYS delivered service with a smile, and orders correct, which made the room service forgiveable. And with the storm and strong winds coming he Gave a fair warning for us to pack up and cared for our safety, So thank you FRANK for your excellent service and a job well done!

Beautiful golf course and overall gorgeous place. I have stayed here for years and it has truly changed. I felt like I was at Great Wolf Lodge this weekend. Screaming/crying kids throughout the day & night in the rooms, down the hallways and even in the bar area. Sorry to say I will no longer stay here - no peaceful adult time all weekend long and no sleep.

Beautiful resort. Friendly staff. COVID has made it a little interesting though. Not all the food/restaurant options are open leaving you with very limited options so don't get your hopes up or set on anything in particular. When we visited they had closed all the parking lots except for the FURTHEST from the hotel, requiring everyone to park there! It was a little weird and frustrating actually.

Prices can be high ($14 for a hot dog) and its VERY EASY to spend over $100 in just a couple hours in drinks alone at the water park because no outside food or drinks allowed. The water is clean and cool and the lazy river is VERY relaxing and enjoyable. Plenty for kids to do too!

Writing this review 1/2 way thru my trip.
Room fridge had food container from previous guest that was starting to stink. Since no trash bags in room I didn t want to throw in can to stink up room. Asked front desk twice to have someone clean. Mentioned to bartender Christina at the Crooked Branch and she immediately brought to her supervisor Kevin. He immediately contacted housekeeping, comped my drinks & dinner. This is how you fix a bad situation. No, not free drinks & food. But fast immediate response to a guest problem.
Marriott needs to give them a raise!!!

The rooms were really well kept. The staff was very friendly from the moment we entered until we left. The hotel had a bunch of events going on for Easter weekend which were great to take part of.

The service was excellent and the rooms were very nice. Really liked the pool and lazy river at the water park. Dining rooms were nice. The food tasty and I loved the fact that there was a buffet section geared just for kids. It will be great for when we bring the grandchildren later this summer. The front desk staff were courteous, and the bell hops were good and quick to respond to a call for help with our luggage.

This is the second time we visited this resort. The overall experience is good. The water park was not very busy so my kids can go through all the rides multiple time in a matter of an hour or two. The hotel room is clean and welk-maintained. There are some small wear and tear such as chipped furniture and lightly worn carpet but overall it's in good shape.

This place is AMAZING!!! The staff and customer service is also AMAZING!!! The rooms were nice and they had a nice sized television in the room. It's a great place to take your family or just a romantic get away. We will be visiting here again.

We re currently staying here for my girlfriend and I s anniversary. Had to write a quick review from my room as we returned to our room from downstairs to a table full of good stuff including a bottle of wine. Props to the Resort Manager, Reed Randolph for making us feel right at home. Oh and the resort is amazing too. Two thumbs up. Would be three but I m not able to do so.

Didn t give us the room we had booked. Unacceptable when we have a handicapped member of our party. Service was terrible. Management is money-grubbing, always overbooking, and staff is clearly undertrained. Love to see their marketing guy responding to every negative review with empty platitudes while nothing changes.

Bathroom had last guests hair on the floor when we arrived. Shower tile grout with mildew. Phones in rooms did not work when we arrived. It took 5 hours to get the roll away we requested in advance with the reservation. Hotel lobby/bar area littered with dirty dishes, food crumbs all over chairs for the entire hour we were sitting there without anyone busing the area or cleaning up. When we notified management about the concerns they were rude and just made excuses without any resolution. Bedroom walls extremely thin and could hear intimate details of conversations next door. NOT a 5 star experience and inexcusable in the era of covid when you market the extra cleaning precautions you are taking.

Poor customer service, cleaning staff never showed up, even when asked. TV wasnt working for two days, when we asked for someone to replace it, staff seemed annoyed.

Overall, even using points for my stay the price was too high.

Our room was dirty. The sheets were stained. The beds were not Queen size, more like doubles. Can barely fit two people in the bed comfortably. Room service food was some of the worst. The pool area was in deed the highlight and well maintained.

The best brunch in San Antonio 5+ stars. 18 Oaks Restaurant service, presentation, ambiance and best of all the food was excellent. I even approached the assistant manager for kudos. Food was maintained at warm temperature, crab legs where fresh and shrimp was firm and not overcook. Vegetables where fresh and nicely season. Mac and cheese top crumble crunch and cream was perfect. The chicken waffles excellent. Dessert, perfect. Mimosas mixed the perfect balance of champagne/ juice. Hope to come back soon. Great job.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything was perfect. Compared with marriotts we had been to, this one ranks very highly. Check-in was super fast and rooms were ready in no time. Staff was super friendly. Rollaway bed was provided. Very nice facilities and amneties. We spent the whole time at the water park. We will definitely go back for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful grounds! Very helpful and courteous staff everywhere you turn! Rooms were beautiful and very clean. However I m not sure if they were short staffed due to COVID-19 but everywhere you looked there were dirty glasses, dirty plates, napkins blowing on the ground, wet and dirty beach towels, trash seem to be everywhere. For the price point I would ve expected a little higher standards and although we are having a great time and the staff is very accommodating I am deeply surprised and dismayed by the condition of the grounds! Beautiful hotel, terrible customer service.

I hate writing bad reviews and I love the Marriott but I am writing this after 3 weeks of dealing with a mistake that could have been avoided from the beginning. Long story short, the Marriott created a massive billing mess that cost me money and created a very large headache for my employer for a conference I attended at the hotel. It took over 3 weeks to fix the error on MY PART continually calling to follow up. I called that Marriott multiple times to speak to a high level manager about the situation only to be sent to someone who would say "sorry" after a long pause. We often use the JW Marriott for business and personal travel, I even recommended to family about staying here later. Not now.

I am very upset with the lack of professionalism and the headache this hotel caused for me and my work. It costs a lot of money to stay here and travel to the resort. I would rather stay in a hotel with better customer service than deal with the billing headache.

This situation is truly sad as the hotel is beautiful and the cleaning staff wonderful but the front desk and customer service are terrible.

One of the finest Marriott properties I've ever stayed at. It truly lives up to the "JW" name as well. Stunning drive up to the hotel, grounds to walk on, and decor throughout. The water park is an oasis in the Hill Country. We will surely be back soon!

I took the advice of a coworker and booked this hotel for my 1 year wedding anniversary and I wasn't disappointed! I was initially disheartened when I found out that there was a golf tournament going on. There should have been self parking, but we did not find any open spots so we had to go the valet route. The cost was $27 plus tips. You can either associate a room number with the valet station or pay cash. The valets were a pleasure to work with.

The front desk clerk that we spoke to was very nice and very professional. We let her know that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and she did all that she could to make sure we had a wonderful experience. I believe she went above and beyond for us and we will forever remember that. If you book with them for a special occasion, make sure they know about it at check in!

I would suggest eating at the hotel instead of driving into town. I ended up booking a great restaurant, Silo Elevated at Loop 1604, but it was a 20 minute drive there and another 20 minutes back to the hotel. I was exhausted after dinner.

One small surprise for us was the resort fee of $38. It was a surprise because we didn't expect it, but we should have known better. The resort fee included 2 Signature Welcome drinks, access to the River Bluff Water Experience, High Speed Internet Access, among other things that we weren't interested in. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to partake in our Welcome drinks. Make sure you research the River Bluff Water Experience operation schedule. We saw some families arrive after the lazy river and the water slides were closed and they sounded disappointed.

I highly recommend this resort. Ask for Brenda and mention this review!
