Overall we had a very good experience. The check in was a breeze, all the employees of the hotel were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were nice and spacious. The sports bar was awesome tons of tvs and the food was good. The breakfast buffet they offer, which was expensive ($28) a person was incredible. The gym is nice. They have a bunch of pools water slides and a lazy man river. You don t have to leave the resort you can have all your fun there. Only a couple of complaints.. the sports bar was very busy, when we tried to get a seat the host and hostess was very rude and told us there were 294 people in front of us, with no estimated time our table would be ready, and it didn t really seem like there was a system to let 294 people there table was ready. And the crooked branch restaurant literally had the worst food I have ever had at a restaurant. I don t know how you could possibly mess pizza up that bad. English muffin pizza in the toaster would have been a delicacy over that. Pretty shameful that all the food was that bad at a 5 star hotel. Really wish they would fix that. But overall we loved it and will definitely be back.

Our family stayed the weekend, my wife and kids really enjoyed the stay. This place is absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. not a dull moment. Great food, water activities, and games. Looking for vacation spot, a must visit.
Lord willing, we will return.

Booked a two night stay for their first day opening after the virus in Texas. Was greeted w/ professional and safe surroundings. Everyone from the valets, greeters, hospitality staff were top notch. A few team members really stepped up and provided above and beyond service.

Upon entering the restaurant (only 1 was open) Richard offered helpful information about hours and places to eat at the pool side etc. The next day Richard again provided help with grab and go food. I saw him going the extra mile for other guests with no stress and total ease in assisting stressed out guest.

At the pool bar Will & Sam were some of the most professional bartenders I've ever seen. Sadly some guests were upset about wait times for food, it was their FIRST day open, and these gentlemen handled all guests with patience at the highest level of hospitality.

The managers walking around poolside and inside at check'in clearly had an eye for detail and every guest. I cannot express how impressed I am with this hotel. Gladly want to come back with family and friends.

Didn't stay the night, but been to two conferences here and it's gorgeous. The scenery is awesome, high quality and luxury feel. Staff is friendly. Lots of shops and Starbucks available. Wife and I plan on staying here the next time we're back in town.

Wonderful facility. Great rooms.

NO water pressure - I don't think ladies can wash their hair in the shower!
I'll stay elsewhere.

We frequent JW MARRIOTT properties as a family almost exclusively and enjoy their members and points program. My husband and I recently booked a one night stay at the San Antonio JW Resort and Spa with our three children. We had heard wonderful things about the waterpark there and overall hotel experience from friends. Keeping in mind we are in the middle of a pandemic, we were somewhat hesitant to stay at a hotel. However, we felt better that the entire state of Texas was now REQUIRED to wear face masks inside businesses as well as outside if they were not able to socially distance. In fact, in Austin you can be fined $2,000 for not following this order. The lack of guests not wearing face masks in the lobby, in elevators, walking around the pool (which was packed), going to the restroom, ordering food/drinks at the hotel establishments was absolutely incredulous. The hotel had up the requisite signage that "You should wear a face covering" (notice the word should instead of MUST), however fell short of actually requiring anything at all. There were the neatly laid stickers where you should stand, and the cones, and staked reminders along every path- all completely ignored. Not only did the hotel not enforce face coverings, they actually encouraged large gatherings of people by continuing to host special activities for kids and large group exercise classes. It was rather sad watching a large crowd of adults and children standing shoulder to shoulder to catch a glimpse of the winner of a rubber duck race! I will say that every hotel staff member we interacted with was gracious and kind and so helpful (all wearing masks!). However, this is not the place you want to be if you are worried about Covid, have any underlying health conditions, or have any respect for keeping your fellow humans safe. The management completely turned their heads in favor of business. I was expecting so much more from Marriott and regret we won't be coming back.

Room was clean, with comfortable bed. Unfortunately, sound proofing was supeisingly poor as I could squeaking from people walking in the room above. Food at the sport-themed restaurant was salty but otherwise cooked properly with good portions. Pool is the highlight of this resort. I'm told the golf course is excellent but I do not play golf.

What a beautiful place!! Stayed for a business trip, but seriously considering coming back for fun!! All of the different restaurants and bars in the hotel made for wonderful variety! The ballroom space was fantastic tons of room, and not terribly echo-y. Each room was beautifully designed, I was lucky enough to get a room with a balcony so the view each morning was phenomenal. Wonderful staff who were always willing to help! I recommend this place to everyone that goes to San Antonio now!

Amazing resort, top of the line accommodations with attention to detail staff! I visit often to complete Mobile Paintless Dent Repair services during the Automotive Events held by major U.S. auto manufacturing companies. During these events new vehicles are showcased as well as a picture session for major news and media.

My name is Tim Chunn and I won a 2 night free stay while attending a SGA gas conference in Denver Colorado. Emphasis on free stay. I was so excited to try out this hotel. My wife Becky checked us in when we arrived and gave the gentleman she talked to our free voucher for our stay. He asked for a card to hold for essentials only. He reassured her that this is all that would be charged if anything was used. We thought everything was okay and when we left, we found that our card had been charged for the whole stay. We have been trying to get resolution for 3 days and still haven t been successful. I feel like we have been stolen from and at this point would ask all who stay here to exercise caution. Hope this is removed from our card. What should have been an enjoyable stay has turned into a stressful nightmare. We have 3 kids in college and to have over 900 dollars basically stolen from us is not acceptable. I plan on sharing my story every chance I get on social media unless someone can get this resolved and have our card credited back.

Attended a breakfast event and had a difficult time finding my way around the complex in my vehicle. Lighting and signage could be improved. One I found a place to park and entered the conference center maps were easily accessible and informative. Breakfast was great and the staff was professional. They assisted with bussing tables during the networking section of the event, disappeared during the presentation, and then returned afterwards. I look forward to the next chance I have to attend a presentation at this location.

We stayed at the JW Marriott for my daughter's 6th birthday and the staff truly made it magical. Our room was amazing and the service we received was top notch. Highly recommended for families!

Ok

I wish I could give negative reviews.

I wish I could give negative reviews.

This place was completely mediocre.

Many minor complaints, and one LARGE complaint.

Minor complaints:

- check in was supposed to be at 4 with guaranteed check in times, we arrived 3:30, got into our room by 5:30. Not Cool JW Marriott.

- the parking facilities were terrible, 1/2 mile walk to hotel from Satellite parking. NOT SERVICE FOCUSED

- the chicken fingers at all restaurants were identically BAD and INEDIBLE. We tried ordering twice and then gave up.

- way overpriced RESORT charge of $40 per room, supposedly to cover the Waterpark and internet. The Waterpark wasn't worth $40 per room per day.

- supposed to be family friendly. Songs playing at the pool were uniformly CRUDE and not family oriented. Draft Punk song "Get Lucky" played twice per hour at the family pool.
Following lyrics from Draft Punk are appropriate for a family environment, played every 30 minutes?

We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky

My MAJOR complaint - VIRTUE SIGNALING by this company, probably driven by some mindless millenial from HQ.

My philosophy - live and let live. The government has no place in the bedrooms of the nation. What happens between two consenting adults is no ones business but those two adults.

BUT, it sends me over the edge when corporations try to VIRTUE SIGNAL by flying the rainbow PRIDE flag, to indicate that the company is willing to treat the LGBTs as better than the rest, treat that 4% or 5% of the population as special, warranting special attention and special service and special accommodations that the rest of us can't expect since we are not in the loud noisy group that DEMANDs to be treated different and better.

DOESN'T WORK FOR ME.

So tell me JW Marriott - why are you flying the rainbow flag?

Do you fly the German flag or Swedish flag to represent the founders of much of this portion of Texas? Do you fly the BLM flag? What flag do you fly to represent women's rights? Parent's rights? What religious affiliation flags do you fly? What flags to you ever fly that represent any of the many private charities that operate in Texas? What flags do you ever fly that represent any of the faith based charities that operate in Texas?

All of these other groups comprise more than 4% or 5% of the population, and yet you don't fly their flag. Why not? Probably because all those other small groups just want to be treated as equals, and don't DEMAND to be called out as MORE THAN EQUAL.

The flag you CHOSE to fly represents a divisive flag for a loud, noisy, aggressive group that wants to be MORE THAN EQUAL.

Your sales and brand popularity will take a dip for this cause. You are just being a good, loyal, obedient company to and for the liberal lynch mob.

Good luck with your VIRTUE SIGNALING to the loudest and noisiest special interest groups.

I hope it hurts your profits, and your company starts to understand that most of the US is more than willing to be TOLERANT of LGBTs - assuming they keep their sex life and sex preferences quiet and private and personal - just like all the other average citizens do.

ENOUGH WITH YOUR LEFTIST VIRTUE SIGNALING BS.

I'M CALLING YOU OUT ON IT.

STOP IT !!!!

This is the most beautiful hotel I've ever been in. That being said, I've never been to a resort hotel like this. It's set in the beautiful Texas Hill country where you can see mule deer by the hundreds! This enormously grand resort should be on your list of conference spaces for your company. Let's not forget the beautiful Players Club Golf course where the elite and famous come to play.

My husband and I had a fabulous time. From the moment we walked in, until we left -the service was absolutely spot-on. In the front desk, Rebecca Lynn made our first experience here unforgettable. Every single detail was perfect. Some of the staff, including Bailey from the golf course, also went above and beyond their duty to ensure a perfect stay for us. We were definitely taken care of. Thanks again!

We cannot wait to come back!

The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful and the common areas and water park are very nice. However, the rooms were pretty average considering the extremely high rates here. They are getting a bit dated, there was mildew in the shower, and the paint was peeling off the ceiling in the shower. Overall, I thought it was a very nice resort, but for the price they charge, the rooms should be remarkable and/or more amenities should be included.

Great water park (nice lazy river, 4 water slides, sandy beach area, lots of chairs). It would be nice if some areas of the pool(s) were covered/shaded, though. There wasn't that much else for the kids to do, though. There are a few activities throughout the day (e.g. sand art, survival bracelet making, smores), but the kids mostly preferred to stay in the room when not at the water park. They wanted to play ping pong, but there's only one table, and it's always in use. Same with the two pool tables. There's a tiny arcade, but it costs money. The standard rooms are okay, but nothing special (they are nice and clean, though). Our "balcony" was a rail about a foot from the door, without even enough room for a chair. My sister-in-law's room (same category) did have a bigger balcony with chairs, though, so it just depends where your room is. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We did not eat at their restaurants, as there are many restaurants nearby (within 5 miles). Actually, we did order burgers and chicken tenders for the kids at the grill inside the water park, and it looked good.

My family and I had a great time at the JW Marriott. It felt as though we were at a Caribbean resort. Rooms were nice and clean. There are a lot of children as well which had its advantages and disadvantages depending on what you would like your experience to be.

Almost a 5-Star. I went for a Business Conference and the Conference Area was great. Restaurants are REAL pricey. alcohol is typicaly priced. Was not happy with what Texas tried passing off as their Bourbon. Kind of spoiled coming from Louisville, KY. Bourbon Capital.
