Wow even though I stayed for free, I still thought it was the worst hotel I stayed at.

Yes the lobby and the pool are beautiful, but my room had a damp humid smell to it the whole time. Like the AC had mold or something. The sheets smelled like bleach, and my room was cluttered with furniture. One morning I woke up with swelling around my left eye, which stayed like that for a week. Wouldn't be surprised if it came from sleeping on that bed.

The gym was a good walks away while you had to journey through empty ballrooms, and conference halls (some under construction). The gym had some nice equipment to get a full workout with, but it closes at 10. Why close a gym at 10? Just keep it open 24 hours. I work till 9PM sometimes.

Food was alright but the bar area was full of people and took a while to get any service.

This hotel might be okay for events, but as a business guy who was seeing a client in Orlando and has to work, I say stay away from this overhyped hotel.

I can't say enough good about this property! Lavish, modern and very well landscaped. Our room was a King Suite that was roomy, clean and on the 23rd floor, so the view was spectacular! The lounge was very nice and our bartender (Ricardo) was super nice! The old saying "you get what you pay for" is exactly correct in this case. You pay a little more per night but the comfort and style are well worth it!

Overall excellent experience. The staff is over the top accommodating to all the guests. We had Sydney as a server 2 different times in one day. He did a fantastic job, he remembered our names and treated us like royalty because he actually likes his job. That s a rare find for large company. Keep up the great service Marriot!

It is a well maintained Marriott. The facilities are what you would expect at this price range. The staff was very friendly, helpful and well informed. Parking was a hassle, whether self parking or valet it was slow and painful.

Other than being huge this place is nothing special. Last week when I stayed at the Comfort Inn it was just as nice just not as big. It does have more minute he's but I'm very displeased with the air conditioner and the refrigerator in the room. lost a lot of sleep last night because it was too hot. I disappointed that there aren't more choices that could be made available for breakfast. Overall not impressed. Next time I'll go back to the Comfort Inn & Suites. Just not worth the money.

Had a great stay. Best part was the pool - as it gets really muggy and busy during the day, I suggest you go to the pool first thing in the morning as soon as it opens at 8am. Air is divine and water is perfect - always clean and clear. then at 9am you can collect your free tubes, 2 per room. You can always go and grab breakfast at 11 am as they close the kitchen at 11:30am but you really dont want to miss the pool experience when weather is the "coolest" of the day and you can have it all for yourself! Staff is wonderful and super attentive. Breakfast really hit the spot. Fruit was always fresh and plenty, egg station is great, and breakfast potatoes were perfect. Pastries a perfect way to finish. If you want to play golf, the RC course is just across the wooden pedestrian bridge, a short walk, really. Room was fine - bathroom could be more updated, but it was always clean - you can see wear and tear though. Curtain would need a proper wash in the bedroom, it was dirty. We also had a bug one night, but that is unavoidable in Florida, regardless where you are. Overall great first stay.

So I've attended events all over town & even @ the Ritz next door... In my opinion the JW Marriott knocks it out of the park for a fraction of the cost of other luxury resorts.

When it comes to the food category, the JW has it all... Formal, Casual & on the go options including a Starbucks location which actually accepts the app!

Parking is a little pricey... That's my big gripe.

Just Ok. We ve stayed at JW properties in the past that were amazing. This one is just ok. Ants in our room and crawling on the bed. Had to call the front desk twice for maintenance to come up and spray (we were on the 9th floor). The Air-conditioning unit in our room was unreliable, freezing during the day and hot at night. When my husband gave his negative review to Marriott, we received an apology from the front desk supervisor with a bunch of I can t imagines . Seriously, Lots of fluff. Customer service is a lost art.

My wife and I recently visited the JW Marriott for our 9 year anniversary. It was a staycation for us as we normally do that for our anniversaries. The hotel was amazing and completely worth the price of the room. They also tried to upgrade our room for us for free, since it was our anniversary! We passed though because we'd have to give up the King Sized bed. They did send us up champagne and strawberries later that night to our room which we thought was a great gesture. The grounds were well kept up, and it felt like a mini vacation even though we were only 30 minute from home. We ended the night in front of the fire pit over looking the lake. We will stay here again!

Beautiful hotel, the room was very clean and inviting. The service was fantastic and the entire place was just perfect. The restaurants were very good too. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have a wonderful experience plus the price was reasonable.

The property is beautiful with great outdoor amenities and staff were friendly. The only reason I m rating 3/5 is pricing. I stayed recently during hurricane Dorian and my rates increased significantly in the days preceding the storm. The hotel minimized staffing, which is understandable, but then offered very overpriced buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner as the only dining options. I checked out 2 days early since thankfully our home did not sustain damages, but still received a bill for the next 2 nights! They charged my credit card and I had to spend 20 minutes on the phone before a manager was able to issue a refund.
I m already planning to stay here again, (we make frequent trips to Orlando) but hopefully I don t encounter the same issues again.

Wanted to share my extreme dissatisfaction with Marriott. In the last three weeks we have stayed at two Marriott hotels, the one in Key Largo, for which I will write a separate review on and this one. While the hotel in the Key Largo had a better grasp on COVID preparedness and practices, practices at the JW were nearly non-existent. I would say of the folks we noticed, 70% were not wearing masks and more importantly were not ever asked by a hotel employee to wear masks. We're a high risk family due to underlying conditions. It may be easier for older folks or folks with no kids to stay home and stay indoor, not so easy when you have two small children. It's mentally wearing on them. Anyway, we decided to take the kids to the JW and make a weekend out of it due to their awesome lazy river since we do not have a pool and the neighborhood pool is closed. Of everyone we saw and crossed paths with, I would say that 90% of young adults (18-35) were not wearing masks, 70% of kids 8-17 were not wearing masks and 20% of older adults (36+) were not wearing masks. As you can see, the older folks seem to be taking this more seriously. Young kids, under 5 or 6 ,were with parents and so for the most part they all had masks on with a few exceptions. By the way, this is inside the hotel, not outside. Outside, in the pool area, I think I saw 3 or 4 wearing masks. I get it, it's expected, you're at the pool, on the water, etc..so why wear a mask. We're guilty of that as when we were on the water we of course did not wear a mask but we kept our distance from everyone as much as we could. Many of the party goers, 18-35 I would say, did not care much for keeping your distance. Now, I will say that all hotel employees were wearing masks, I did not see one without it, however; no one was asking anyone to wear a mask. When we asked why masks are not enforced, even though there are signs to wear masks, they said that corporate has not issued a mandate to wear masks and furthermore said that according to corporate they are not allowed to tell people to wear masks. To top it off, we went to the restaurant on a Friday night, where it wasn't super busy and there was no social distancing being done, yet, the table centers were 6' apart but when you sat down you were should to shoulder with the person behind you. We did not feel comfortable, eat quick and left. We said something to management and they were 'shocked'. So, the next night on Saturday we figured we try it again and nothing had changed, in fact, the guy gave us an attitude when we asked to please show us the table to see if we were comfortable. The restaurant was twice as packed and twice as bad as couple of the large capacity tables from the night before had been moved closer and the place was packed. They were even sitting people at the bar. Luckily they had an open table outside the restaurant which was in the lobby, we sat there instead, however; while we felt safe at that point, the service was horrible. So bad that we asked for diet soda, never got it and after 20min of waiting for a soda I asked my wife to go to the room and get a diet coke that we had bought outside the hotel and that's what we drank. The food was served cold and our we only saw our waiter at the end when we asked for our check. Our breakfast experience was also just as bad, food was cold and service was almost non-existent.

All in all, a horrible experience and worst of all, we did not feel safe inside the hotel. We felt safer outside where we could exercise more distance between us and others than we did inside the hotel.

If Marriott actually reads these, I would urge you to take a page our of Universal hotels. We stayed there last month twice as a matter of fact, and felt safe.

I want to like this place, but I honestly can't. It's a "fancy" hotel, but day 1 we had so many issues I would rather have been at the Hilton. 1. It took them 90 minutes (not exaggerating) to bring a crib up. It was at 0300 on a weekday, so they weren't busy, they just took their sweet sweet time. 2. The shower drain backed up, bad. I can understand a little backup. But if you spent longer than 3 minutes in the shower you had to cut it off, for fear it would go over the ledge. 3. Small family of 3 went to use the only family restroom in the pool area. We used it several times during the day, we have a potty training toddler. Randomly at 330, it was closed. No warning. The restroom attendants very nicely in Spanish told us to go somewhere else. I was actually kinda irritated at this point so when I got back to my room I called to see if this was a normal policy to close so early...it wasn't. They decided to lie and say it was closed all day because of a lock issue. Whatever. I'm over this hotel.

Beautiful location, good shops. Not enough access to incidentals such as beverages (need vending machines on floors, in consideration of the distance between some rooms and the elevators.)

Friendly, professional customer service. Classy, comfortable rooms. Hitting the lazy river with my siblings in the massive pool was my favorite part of the weekend. The proximity to the Ritz Carlton makes for a resort with twice as much.

The hotel is nice enough, but Marriott always feels cheap to me. The WiFi access isn't free, and the conference food is bland. It feels like the staff is pretending to be nice. I've been here several times for work (conferences) and I'm always happiest when I'm checking out. BUT, the lazy river is pretty nice. I have to say =)

Stayed here for 2 nights this week. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and there are many pools. The beds were very comfortable, large TV and small fridge in room. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed back in May just forgot to write a review and I'm so glad that I remembered to come back and inform anyone interested in positive experience as they really deserve it.
This place is great. They treat you like royalty. Yea it is pricey if you are not used to spending time at 5 star resorts, however this is a 4 star and we have had best time and service here. The pool is amazing. My husband loved the room service pizza, he loves pizza and says it was the BEST he has ever had. The rooms are very clean and luxurious. I cant say enough good things about this place. We will be back.

Great Christmas brunch at Citron in the JW Marriott. The fresh shell fish and oyster bar was delicious and the rest of the choices were abundant from a traditional roast turkey, prime rib and ham. The short ribs were excellent and save room for dessert. The bananas Foster were delightful!

My family and I stayed from June 19th- the 21st as a weekend birthday/ Father s Day celebration. As mentioned in another review, I think the staff was not ready for the amount of people who were there. We called for towels 3 times, third time was a charm except, we got an additional 2 bags full of towels at seperate times. Also, we woke up Saturday morning, 6/20/20 on the balcony, we looked down to find a dead woman lying on the ground. It didn t seem like she fell off a balcony because there wasn t a very large amount of blood. But investigators were taking pictures before they took her body away in a body bag. I felt uneasy after seeing such a scene so early in the morning. Haven t seen anything in the news yet either.

Very nice conference rooms. The parking is a little steep and they need more spaces, but the whole place is beautiful. I got away from my event and visited the pool area: very nice. Try the Florida margaritas at the pool bar.

This was my first time staying at the JW Grande Lakes. We stayed here before the Gaylord was booked. We loved it here! The food was delicious and the rooms were amazing. 24 hour room service and spacious rooms . This hotel is comparable if not better than the Gaylord. We rented bikes and rode the trails and watched the game at the lobby bar! It was clean and we enjoyed transportation back and forth from Disney! I definitely recommend this property!
