My daughter kept saying the people are so friendly here.

The concierge were outstanding. They helped with all aspects of my trips. Highly recommend you stay here just based on them.

In addition the location and facility are great. Hotel was very clean and quite. Front desk staff and all other staff was professional efficient and helpful.

Lounge was well stocked.

Facilities were a notch above and well maintained.

I look forward to returning. My daughter raves about the place and people. This hotel helped make new Orleans trip very special

Worst valet service I have ever experienced. $50+ per night to wait and wait on your car when you need it. I stayed for one week and waited no less than 15 minutes each time, often times more. Calling the valet number from the room phone results in 7-8 rings before someone at the front desk answers to deliver your tag number (which never makes it). Lucky for you, the nearest self park lot is two blocks away!

I received a "deluxe corner room" which was a normal layout room with walls cutting off corners at every turn, making the room feel even smaller. The door doesn't even open all the way because it bangs right into a counter jutting out of the entryway. The room with a view was a nice view of the pool. Noisy rooms. I could hear the neighbors arguing and their kids jump on the bed every single day at 5:30am.

The worst of all, the temperatures in New Orleans dipped into the 20's and there was NO HEAT in the room. The thermostat was set as high as 75 and the room temperature was 64. The front desk offered no explanation at checkout, only offering some tiny amount of Marriott points. $200+ a night for what? Location? No thanks.

Very nice room. Facade just outside my window is under construction, so scaffolding ropes coming down. Bed very comfortable. Nice people in the bar but the drinks are very expensive as is the food. Really great location right downtown in the French quarter on Canal Street.

Visited a friend staying at the hotel, and we stayed at the lobby for a couple of hours. The staff was very friendly to us and our dog, and the amenities were tastefully decorated.

Exec lounge is too small for the traffic it sees. Room was fine but the finishing touches were lacking--bathroom door needed repair, hole in carpet, tv reception iffy. For a JW, disappointing.

Old hotel and doesn t look much like the pics. I felt like I m staying at a courtyard rather than a JW. They say it was renovated in 2012 but not sure what they consider renovation.

We actually checked out 2 hours after check-in and went to the W down the street.

Staff was very friendly and courteous. Room was very clean and had all that we needed. Only complaint was that we were next to the elevator and other guests were very loud while coming and going. But it's New Orleans, so what do you expect?

The rooms were recently renovated with a modern touch. Staff were very friendly. The newly renovated rooms seemed to have less sound isolation. I could hear muffled conversation from my neighbors, clear hallway conversation, pool parties 8 floors below, and street noise 16 floors below. Being in the French Quarters, the noise is a bit expected, Marriot could have done a bit more to accomodation business travelers and/or light sleepers. Although I didnt have any issues with my HVAC, a couple of my colleagues had issues with the A/C holding the temperature both high and low.

There was nothing remarkable about this JW. The rooms were clean and basic like any Marriott. $15-$20 for a drink is crazy when I can go across the street to the other Marriott and pay normal prices. It's no wonder the bar was always empty.

Excellent hotel, great location, right on the trolley lines so easy to get around town, just on the edge of the French Quarter so at the party but without the all-night din. Superb staff, newly refurbished rooms, sweet club lounge albeit pricey drinks. So why not 5 stars? $48 per night parking causes one of the stars to flame out. Plus, adding injury to insult, the valet slammed the car door on my wife's foot bruising across 4 toes. Seriously?

Very good location. Plenty of food and entertainment right outside the door. Service was superb and everything in room 1515 was perfect. Gym is bigger than most and 8th floor pool is small but clean with decent view.

Love the location and cleanliness of this hotel. We had a corner room with a view of Canal Street and Royal Street. Very spacious rooms, comfortable in every way. Will book again for next time in NOLA.

This is one of your typical nice fancy hotels in New Orleans wear it cost too much to stay here relative to other options in the city. It's a nice place, but personally I go with an Airbnb somewhere around the area for 30-50% less per night

When we arrived our room had been given away. Our flight was delayed I contacted the hotel to let them know we would be a late arrival. I was told thank you we have you schedule for a late arrival see you tonight. We arrived our room was given away. The front desk staff said they did a favor and booked us a room at a different hotel. It was miles away, old, musty and not what we had in mind when we made our reservation over a month in advance. Called customer service was put on hold for an hour only to be disconnected. Called back talk to a customer service rep. We were told JW Marriott customer service would get back in touch with us in a couple of days. Well, days have now become weeks. Marriott seems to be good at making reservations but keeping them is a different issue. And the promise of a return call from customer service hhhuumm. Being a Marriott member I expected better treatment. Gary W.

I stayed at this hotel recently for an academic conference. The hotel staff who worked with the conference we all wonderful and the conference seemed to run very smoothly as a result of their customer service. We did not have a good experience with our actual hotel stay, however. The hotel was undergoing renovation construction, and they gave everyone a pair of ear plugs for daytime noise and mentioned at check in that if we had any problems, we should call the front desk. Well, when the problems started, it was a different attitude entirely. First some type of sticky chemical seeped up through our room carpet, making it wet, and someone just came and put towels on it and said it was probably from the room being cleaned (it wasn t). and very strong smelling fumes came in through the bathroom vent. I was traveling with my two young children and was concerned for their safety inhaling chemical fumes that were strong enough to give me a headache, but the concierge on duty at the time was very dismissive and told us there were no other rooms and nothing could be done until the morning. We ended up canceling the rest of our stay and rebooking at the Sheraton, with no help from the JW Marriott (except for a very kind bellhop who helped us walk our bags down the block to the Sheraton). So it was a very mixed experience overall if your trip goes perfectly, you may enjoy your stay here, but if anything goes wrong, don t expect any help or sympathy! I was really disappointed in the management and would have expected much better given the circumstances (hotel renovations).

Nice

We are currently staying at the hotel and the upper levels are under renovation. So dont even think about trying to sleep in late or have an afternoon nap. It sounds like a jack hammer is coming thru the ceiling. It's ridiculous. We were not made aware that the hotel would be under renovations when booking or we would have stayed elsewhere. I would highly recommend staying at another hotel until renovations are complete unless you enjoy the constant noise of construction. Highly disappointed in JW Marriot! Also I forgot to mention our sink was broken upon arrival and a lamp kept flashing when turned off.

We're in the middle of our stay as I write this, and so far it's been pretty nice! The consierge is incredibly helpful; so far she is my favorite thing about the hotel! She helped us book some tours around and outside the city, and since this is our first time here it would've been difficult without her knowledge. The hotel is pretty nice, even if the rooms are getting moderately close to needing a small remodel, and the internet is fast. The only thing I take a star off for was when we first checked in, after having booked a king room, we got a room with two queens. When we called the front desk to rectify the situation, we were brushed off immediately and told none were available. The next day, we asked someone at the front desk and she was much more helpful and looked into getting us what we needed and was able to get us into the correct room. It is a bit noisy due to traffic outside, but we're on the 14th floor and far enough away from the bourbon street insanity that it's relatively quiet.

No wifi. I'm elite member. I mentioned to woman at customer service and she wasn't surprised. She said she would speak to engineer. We stayed two nights, three days. No WiFi....free or to pay for!

Beds weren't as soft and heavenly like most other JW Marriotts, staff was polite but had to request the pool be opened four times because of rain they had it locked. Overall 4 stars, great location to everything French quarter and downtown.

The hotel room was nicely decorated, and the bed was comfy. In the morning we had no hot water, and when we tried to call about some issues we were having about internet, we could not reach the front desk for several HOURS of trying. When I checked out, she didn't ask about the stay. Maybe she had heard enough about the hot water, maybe she didn't care if I was happy. Don't know. Hot water and apathy dragged a 5-star stay to a 3.
