The service here is top notch and the food is delicious. Nothing on the plate was JUST a garnish or filler. The baked brie was divine and the maple old fashioned is surprising in the best way possible. I cannot recommend this establishment enough.

I love this place I've had it a few times and I needed to bring my daughter so she could experience it, and just like I thought she loved it as well, best service quality food and great atmosphere we will be back!

I have wanted to visit this restaurant for so long! It has this lovely witchy cottage aesthetic that I completely adore, especially when the flowers bloom. My boyfriend and I visited during graduation weekend without a reservation and they were kind enough to fit us in. The servers are all so sweet and helpful--they recommended the salmon dish that my boyfriend ate and the zeppoles that we shared and they were to die for!!! I had the chicken dish and highly recommend that too. They have a huge selection of mixed drinks and wine--I tried the raspberry lemon drop and it was so sweet and delicious. This place is just all-around amazing. Highly recommend for a pricier date night or celebratory dinner!

Great food. GREAT food. GREAT FOOD! The atmosphere is cozy being in an older home. The waitstaff are remarkable. Christy, Mark and Noelle, did everything that was needed to help us pull off an awesome dining experience for our guests. AND you can't forget about Tony and his wife. They will serve the waters, and do anything necessary to make sure everyone leaves having had a memorable experience. Did I say the food was great?

We stopped in on a whim during our visit to Flagstaff. Best choice! The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is amazing, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I could not recommend this place more!

Made reservations here for a special occasion for 8. We were seated up stairs in a cozy private room and were attended to very well the entire meal. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all amazing and nobody had a bad thing to say about the entire experience. Would recommend.

I was unsure if I was going to come to Josephines, and had made a backup reservation at Brix in case I changed my mind. So glad I stuck with this place! The Osso Buco was outstanding. Only complaint was.that our table was too small and a bit wobbly

Josephine's is a nice take on a classy American restaurant. The atmosphere is enjoyable and the servers were friendly and helpful. We had dinner inside as it was a bit chilly out, but then we notice they put propane heaters outside too. The food was great, fall of the bone ribs, delicious foccacia too.

The food was very good and the patio charming. Outdoor seating is well arranged although traffic noise can be distracting. Be careful if you order a paired wine with your entree. I asked for a glass of the recommended Cabernet with my fillet and it showed up on the bill for $19.00. Next time the house will do.

Very warm place with atmosphere. They have 2 real fireplaces which provided heat in the rooms. The food was really good, which matches perfectly to the word "bistro". Very friendly staff and very good match of quality-price. Definitely need to try it!

For a special date night we thought this would be the place. Except for the hostess being super stressed distracted and overwhelmed the staff was great and we enjoyed food thoroughly

The staff was great, super friendly and our waiter was super attentive. We had the queso fundido as an appetizer, which was ok definitely not an authentic queso fundido. Our Mercedes Margaritas were simply amazing and surprisingly strong, in a good way. I was definitely disappointed in the food, my husband had the pork osso bucco and it was very well cooked and flavorful. However the polenta was lump and not at all creamy. I had the fish special and it was lacking some major flavor and just plain salt, the risotto was undercooked, plain and dry. We were celebrating our 13th year
wedding anniversary and had originally planned to go to the cottage place, after finding out it had closed down we thought we'd give this place a try and I definitely regretted it. The only thing I'd go back for would be those killer margaritas.

I went there for brunch today. It was a nice looking place and the service was excellent. I ended up disliking it mainly for the food and drinks. The $5 bloody Mary was tasty but the glass had so much ice there was not much room for bloody Mary. I had the flagstaff burger and that was the worst part of the meal. The bun had too much butter or something and it fell apart when I picked it up. I am not a picky person and have little or no critique about food. But the I ordered a flagstaff burger medium rare and it came out far from it. It did not have a shred of pink on it. In fact the edges were charred and black. Based on reviews I am sure this place is excellent. Today they were just far from it.

Great upscale dining in Flagstaff! We were lucky to get a table, so reservations are recommended. 5-star menu with a chef to match. Steak, seafood and pastas all well prepared and beautifully plated. The filet mignon was perfect, and the sole with crab cake special was superb. Don't skip dessert - chocolate lava cake is one of the best I've had. This place a gem in Flagstaff...don't miss out!

I've been here a few times and it has always been fantastic. The place is a bit small, but it lends to its historic charm and ambiance, especially during the evening. Due to the restaurant's size, try and make a reservation if you plan on having dinner here on a weekend.

The food is delicious an the service is awesome. I recommend the cioppino and the deep fried green tomatoes.

Great service and the food was really good. I had the filet mignon, Caesar salad, French onion soup and cheesecake. Service was quick even though they were busy and always friendly. We will be back for sure.

OK, too much to write, but first visit was a gift from my husband. We were seated in an horrible location in an empty restaruant, waitress couldn't answer questions and was horribly slow and lacked personality, had wrong plate delivered (there was only ONE other couple in the room with us), brought my husband and extra beer when he didn't ask for it and charged us, food was cold, but had a good taste and the front entrance is crowded. The second visit was a gift from a friend. The entrance is incredibly small where you check in with NO room to stand and waitresses getting food from counter and coming in and out of the same front door to deliver meals to tables...COME ON! The waiter this time was very nice and on his game. The food was delicious, but when we checked out, gave the waiter 2 gift cards worth $150, he came back to tell us that the $50 card only had $1.00 on it. Seriously??? Then the manager informed us that they reload the cards and it could be their error, but the owners have had too many of these cards come back this way and they will not honor what is supposed to be on the card. WHATEVER!!!! Oh, they were on vacation enjoying the money that was not loaded onto our card along with many others. I would NEVER recommend this place!

I wish I had a sky full of stars to give for Josephine's review. They are surely deserving. 5 stars to represent the 5 senses will have to do. Visually it is absolutely beautiful. A lovely, rustic old home converted to a cozy intimate restaurant. The wafting smells of the food being prepared drew us as we wandered in. The warm, friendly greeting and attentive staff made us feel at home. The gentle bustle and buzz of the restaurant offset by a phenomenal soundtrack of eclectic music. My wife and I commented song after song about how special the ambiance was. Now to the food, although simply referring it as food is an extreme injustice. The meal was literally a work of art. Not the bougie, overly small (see what I did there?), portions with a drizzle of color to distract you from the fact that you about to "feast" on two bites of food. The portions were just the right size, completely satisfying without being grossly over or under sized. The ingredients were all extremely fresh and top quality. This makes total sense... with chefs creating such wonderful fare, why would you not use the best? Simply put, every single thing about Josephine's is absolutely perfect in my opinion. We wanted a special night for my wife's birthday and Josephine's delivered in spades. It could not have been any more perfect. Thank you SO much!

If you are EVER in Flagstaff, you HAVE to make sure and try (try isn't accurate... let's say experience) Josephine's.

Life is too short NOT to experience Josephine's!

We had a very underwhelming dinner here. We made a reservation for 9 people a week prior for 8:30pm and requested outdoor dining. At 8pm, we called ahead to ask if they could take us early. They said that they had two 9-people reservations for 8:30pm, and that our reservation might be seated a few minutes late as the party before us had arrived 40 minutes late to their reservation. We told them that was fine, and arrived to the restaurant at 8:45pm, calling them en route to tell them we were on our way. We were told on the phone that the party was just getting dessert and that they would be done shortly and the servers would bus quickly once they departed. We waited for a while, asked the hostess what was going on around 9pm, and then was finally told to take a look at a drink menu and that they'd get us something to enjoy. We never had anyone come back to get drink orders for us. Finally, at 9:25pm, we were seated. The hostess was gracious as we passed her, and once seated, our server gave a friendly welcome and noted his apologies for the delay. We made a joke of how it was fine, but that we looked forward to him making it up to us with drinks, to which he quickly agreed. We also shared with him that many of us were NAU alums, primarily Hotel and Restaurant Management alums, and that we had all been in similar situations professionally. He took drink orders, and we got our drinks and water service quickly. We also had our appetizers and entrees ordered quickly. The food came out in a timely manner; and our server was kind overall.

Here's what we are upset about past our 55 minute wait time (that we had a reservation for):
1) no manager came to apologize or speak to how their service staff were resolving the situation
2) no part of the meal or drinks were comped, even after two employees implied they would be taking care of us
3) the food taste overall was underwhelming - short ribs under seasoned, dry, and tough, "risotto" was really just unflavored sticky rice

We are incredibly disappointed with this Flagstaff staple and not one of our 9-person party will return or recommend.

We went to have lunch, three people, they say to get reservations but they still got us a table quickly. It was a pretty windy day so we asked if we could move the table in the sun. Our server Aviv was wonderful and funny and made the expert great! We ordered the BLT with salmon and lettuce wraps since we can t have gluten it the food was wonderful! Very recommended for a nice lunch!

Excellent food, excellent service, prompt and courteous.

A very nice place for dinner. Everything was delicious, but if I had to pick - the asparagus soup and the mussels and clams appetizers were just amazing. Can't say anything about main courses or deserts - did not have room for those :)

Cottage style cozy home feel! Amazing food, friendly staff! It doesn't super jump out at you coming off of Humphreys Street, but must go! Great pricing, and fresh food and flavors! Everything I have had here has been exceptional! YUM

For a romantic dinner, Josephine's is one of the few places in Flagstaff that fits the bill. Eating outside on a summer evening with exquisite food can't be beat. The only reason I gave it four out of five stars is because of their dog policy. Look, I know people in Flagstaff love their dogs but it takes the restaurant down a notch when they're allowed to walk through the outdoor dining area. During our dinner there, two dogs briefly got into it and then another dog nearly put this head on our table while we were eating. Not appealing at all. Otherwise the dinner experience was thoroughly enjoyable.

Love this place! So happy we found it. Everything was wonderful. I had the chorizo biscuits and gravy which was a little spicy and delicious. Very cozy and quaint. Great food, service, ambiance... all around wonderful spot.

Wow! What an amazing breakfast experience! It was so good we had to go back again the next day. The food, service, and ambiance is outstanding! We were visiting Flagstaff on vacation with our dog and they were very accommodating. $5 mimosas and bloody Mary s. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. I can t wait to go back on our next visit to Flag.

Great food, service wasn t great. Waiter wasn t attentive at all. Had to ask another waiter for refill on water after seeing our waiter go by our table four times to another table. Very dog friendly and nice set up and feel.

Josephines is super cute & the staff is really friendly. I love the live music on sundays. I give them 3 stars because of a couple weekends ago. I got their breakfast potatoes & they were pretty terrible. They weren't cooked fully and they had this seasoning on it too. They couldnt do anything really about it so they brought me something else to make up for it. I also ordered an omelette which was really bland and I had to ask for somethings to add atop to give it some flavor to eat it.

Before that visit, I had gone more for lunch and had gotten the veggie burger because its gluten free and got it as a lettuce wrap and it was really delicious.

Other things on the menu seemed yummy for my friends who can eat gluten.

Really great brunch! Perfect portions. I ordered the pancakes with 2 eggs and fruit bowl. Pancakes aren't huge so I recommend ordering sides. My boyfriend liked their French toast and said their bacon was really really good. Super cute morning date spot.

I have eaten at Josephines for years. Stopped in for lunch @ 1. Was told that the wait would be 10 minutes. After some time, the party ahead of us asked how much longer. She was told twenty more minutes because the kitchen was having a problem. I left at that point. I am not likely to return as there are SO many restaurants now in town.
