It was our first time in Flagstaff and at this restaurant. The food was plated beautifully and the flavors were delicious! (I recommend the Southwestern Crab Cakes). If I had to say one bad thing though, it would be that the dessert came out with a full vanilla bean pod baked inside. The customer service was phenomenal as well.

This historic building has a special charm, because it is an older house and therefore individually furnished.
The service was very slow in the beginning, and somehow everyone and no one was responsible for me. That changed fortunately, I felt increasingly better cared for.
The crabcake salad was very good. Vegetables and lettuce were fresh, salad dressing fruity and sufficient. As for Crabcake, I'm not experienced. I liked it very much.
The bedside table, a chocolate pecan cake, was as powerful as expected - the eye does not eat that far.
The Americano was good in taste, but a bit thin.

Wonderful experience all around. The building is a converted house that has beautiful wood panelling, a couple working fireplaces and a bar. Wonderful service and an extensive wine list. The food is well-prepared and presented beautifully. My two companions has a scallop and shrimp special that they raved over. I had french onion soup and a crab cake small plate. Both very tasty. I think this is a wonderful restaurant for any type of occasion and would recommend it highly.

Excellent food and service. Extremely attentive and knowledgeable service. The entire staff recommended the lamb chops, and they were right. If you're lucky and it's the special, order it! Flagstaff is fortunate to have Josephine's.

Josephine's was recommended to us by a little cal and it didn't fall short. We didn't have reservations but the owner Marlene was very nice and assured us we would be seated after a bit. We sat at the bar had a drink and ordered appetizers then before you know it we were seated outside and had a team of people attending to us lead by Luis. The food was delicious. Definately a place to go for great food and service!

Being from Los Angeles the past 13 years I usually don't review restaurants because there were so many that were so bad. Currently traveling find myself in Flagstaff Arizona. I pick what looks like a nice place But turns out to be the typical trendy yuppie spot. It's in an old Craftsman house which doesnt lend itself to being a restaurant. You practically stumble into the kitchen going in the front door. The menu was small and overpriced. You could easily drop $50 to $100 for a single person in there. An expensive side salad was on a plate the size of a quarter And not very spectacular. I ordered a chicken dish Being the only dish less than $25 which came out far too quick for what it should have been, namely well prepared. The vegetables were soggy and over cooked, The so-called mashed potatoes had something in it like quinoa And came in a tiny lump scooped with a very small ice cream scoop. The half chicken was no more then a boiled Sad little bird That was obviously pre cooked and reheated. It was greasy and in some kind of odd sauce That trendy places like to call Some trendy name. Io ordered a piece of pecan pie with ice cream That arrived in a portion so small I almost laughed. When I tried to cut into it the crust was like a piece of cardboard and I couldn't get the fork or knife through it. For $6 I sent it back. At least the coffee was good and the waitress was sort of on the ball Although she seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. I still tipped over 20 % because I'm in the service industry too.

Had the classic 'old house converted into a restaurant' feel. Sort of rustic minimalist. Our server was nice, but not especially prompt. I asked for my filet to be medium rare, but it came out medium well. The homemade ice cream was absolutely delicious, but the serving size was really small, like half a scoop. See my picture featuring a teaspoon for comparison.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to. The staff were very professional yet personable. The chef takes pride in his dishes, the quality of ingredients and the way they are presented (pictures don't do it justice) Romantic atmosphere and appropriate lighting.

Another very competent restaurant using very good ingredients that produces food that is not astounding but decent. Best described as new American I suppose it does have the advantage of being in a beautiful old building in historic Flagstaff. I would have liked to have been surprised a little more by creativity in the use of such good ingredients.

After 2 days dining on the Vegas strip and spending way too much there I was blown away when I was served the best meal I have had in a very long time at a restraunt that I found in a panic search after I found out the restaurant I intended to eat at was closed.

The food here is not cheap, but you get much more than you pay for.

The atmosphere and service are amazing. The staff is funny, charming, and fast.

I was only in Flagstaff for 2 hours. I will miss this place

We stopped in there for dinner tonight but didn t have reservations and they sat the two of us right away. We weren t that hungry just wanted a small bite of something. Ended up ordering the New England clam chowder, fantastic. The bread that comes with the soup was great as well. I ordered the Korean beef lettuce cups, wow were they good. We will definitely return.

Located in an old home this spot has a very friendly and efficient staff. The decor is nice and it is clean and well appointed. There seems to be adequate parking and the prices are in line with other places. The food is however, very ordinary. Not one special thing about the menu at lunch. The food was so incredibly generic, the salad over dressed and soggy. The brioche bun is huge and overpowered it's contents and was burned around the edge. So disappointed.

I attended a private event that took up the entire restaurant. The service was great. The variety of appetizers offered were savory. It was hard to choose an entree so several of us ordered different things and then we could taste them all. I LOVED the desserts offered but many complained that they were too rich. Great wine choices and wonderful atmosphere.

Great dinner celebrating my mom's 80th birthday during our Arizona vacation. I especially appreciated all the gluten free offerings, most of the menu! Everything was delicious and wonderful staff.

The food rivals that of our favorite restaurant, Carnegie's in Greenfield IN. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. This place is a little pricey but well worth it if you are looking to eat some amazing yummy food in a cozy atmosphere.

Had dinner here 11 years ago and finally made it back for lunch. I'm happy to say it's still great food! I also love restaurants in old houses. Will be back again and sooner than last time!

Food was fantastic. We had the crab cakes small plate and steaks. My wife's steak was ordered as medium rare but came out with not even pink. They cooked new and got it right. I ordered MW knowing that there would be a little pink in the middle of a thick steak but found none. Thanks to the Demi glaze it was edible.

Server had stellar personality, and the food was nothing short of world class. Located in a historic bungalow building, we set outside under an umbrella while it was raining. Just a fun and unique overall experience!

We had an awesome Valentine's dinner and luckily had the best seat in the house, right in front of the fireplace, so romantic! Overall the meal was good, had to send steak back twice...first time, very well done, second, I think I heard it moo. I ordered it medium rare. Aside from that, the perfect evening.

My mom and I visited a few months ago. Great food, a little slow in the service but was very impressed that multiple menu items were gluten free. A little pricey so I haven t returned on a regular basis but would highly recommend it.

The dining area being devided into several small rooms provided a quaint and quiet atmosphere allowing for intimate conversation. The nearly 90% gluten free gave my wife (who suffers from celiac) numerous choices. The service was not necessarily great but we did not have to wait long for our entrees. The food as presented well and was cooked to perfection. Although a bit pricy, the overall experience was excellent.

Good food at ridiculous prices and slow service. Wait staff doesn't seem to be managed by someone familiar with the restaurant business. In fact, there didn't seem to have a manager present at all. A woman stayed at the POS and register while the wait staff walked around quickly with little focus or personal attention to diners. The food servers were quite good, actually, but had minimal contact as they just served the food. The chef in back obviously knew his or her craft which made the meal pleasing to the eye as well as to the pallet. Unfortunately, the wait staff is their weakest link. A well trained attentive staff could have made the prices worth the very high cost, but it failed spectacularly in that aspect. Once their wait staff is better trained I might recommend this "bistro." Until then, pass it by.

Josephine's is well suited for distancing and pleasant dining experience in their outdoor area. Staff are wearing gloves and masks. This was our first time out in three months. Couldn't have been better, excellent!
