Went in for Easter brunch and though there were plenty of empty tables were told it would be a 30 min wait. Considering closing time was 45 mins later we felt they didn't want to bother with seeting us. Dirty dishes left on several tables outside and buffet table was a mess. Felt the staff did us a favor more or less turning us away. Went back into downtown Flagstaff and had a great meal at Flagstaff Brewery. Maybe this place is good on a different day, but we would not recommend considering all the other great choices in town.

We were passing through and lucky enough to find this place for a bite- their brunch menu is amazing! We ordered the fried green tomato and queso caprice appetizer: did not disappoint! Complex unique flavors that all went so well together. We shared the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and Southwest Quinoa Garden Burger for our meals: both so delicious that it's hard to pick a favorite. The benny was perfectly cooked and the potato cake was an awesome compliment to the smoked salmon. Garden Burger was tangy from pickled onions with a slight kick of southwest flavor. Recommended getting this mustard/mayo sauce they make to add to the burger and dip your sweet potato fries in. This place is absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area. They also have outdoor seating and all wearing masks/ great cleaning policies in place
I visited her with my girlfriend for brunch and it was good but nothing special. The menu didn't have any dishes that really stood out and some of th food was over prepared. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
For the first time since moving away, my girlfriend and I visited Josephine's just a couple of months ago. It was always our favorite spot for brunch and holiday dinners for many years, but our most recent visit was perhaps the best thanks to Aviv. Aviv was courteous and thoughtful. His service was top-notch, and we really hope to see him again the next time we're in town. Cheers, Aviv!
The service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. The place is charming, and the food is absolutely delicious! I had the Scottish salmon and my son had the crabcakes.
Took my wife here for our anniversary and everything was amazing...the food was perfect and tasted amazing. Waitress was awesome also. Definitely will be back again
This place is definitely worth every penny. The food is AMAZING. The filet mignon is the best I've ever eaten. The service was great and the staff was extremely friendly. We will be back for sure.
First time dining at this establishment. Generally, excellent food and service. Somewhat pricey for Flagstaff, but well prepared meal. The only disappointment was no offer to warm up the coffee and a rather skimpy portion of the pie and ice cream for dessert.
Delicious food! We went for breakfast and had Benedicts, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and pancakes. Everything was tasty and we will definitely go back!
Great service! Very cozy! Great atmosphere! The waitress was very professional and provided us with great service! Steak came out ok, a little dry but it was good, shrimp diablo is really good!! If you like calamari, you must order them, they are really good!
What a migical evening at Josephinas. My girlfriend and I had a delightful evening on the patio while we celebrated our anniversary. Polite and prompt service form Jared was appreciated. He recommended the evening special which was TOO DIE FOR! I had the short ribs which were fire as balls .
The food was good, but for me a little expensive. The restaurant is in a historic house right on the way to the Grand canyon. The seating was tight, not cozy. Service was good and our waiter had a good sense of humour.
Fabulous! We ate there 3 times when we were in Flagstaff and everything was interesting, flavorful, fresh and so very good. If you have a chance try it!
One of the best places to eat in Flagstaff. Delicious food & a great wine selection. They also have a very affordable lunch menu that is delicious & brunch on weekends.
If your wanting a romantic private setting for dinner this is the place to go! I made reservations to propose to my girlfriend. It was a very memorable experience and they far exceeded any expectations I had! They made our special night very special and memorable! She said yes! A very special thank you to our server DeLacey! Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Didn't know what to expect going in, but had good reviews. Spicy seafood stew had great flavor but not spicy. Flat iron steak was juicy and great flavor from marinade
I am a murderer. I murdered my burger. This place is so adorable and the service is excellent. Nice patio outdoor seating under umbrellas. The food is DELICIOUS!!!
I visited Josephine s years ago and was completely delighted. I have since moved away from Flagstaff, so when my s/o birthday came around and he said he wanted to go to Flagstaff and have a birthday dinner somewhere nice, my first thought was easily Josephine s. This last visit however has changed that, as I ordered the natural half chicken and ended up sending the whole meal back, which is something I have never done. The chicken texture was awful, rubbery almost, with little flavor, the potatoes were somehow browned outside but not cooked inside and we re terribly spiced (s/o also did not touch his potatoes because they were bad) and the veggies on the side were tasteless. I don t know what happened to this place, but we were also seated at the smallest table which is absolutely ridiculous since we made reservations in advance and stated this was a birthday dinner, as well as asked for a view, and the view was essentially the doorway. When people came through to the room my boyfriend kept getting touched or brushed up on because his chair was literally in the doorway. It was a complete and total waste of a birthday dinner, and we had much better food at a fraction of the price at multiple other restaurants during our stay. Not impressed and will not recommend again.
My wife ordered the filet and I ordered the short ribs. The filet was tiny and although ordered medium was well done. Considering the size it would be easy to over cook. The short ribs were very tender, however didn t possess the flavor of others I ve had. The risotto was dry and hard. We ordered the Brie as an appetizer, it was very flavorful and the best tasting part of our meal even though the presentation was served with brown lettuce. Finally the martini my wife ordered came in a rocks glass. The one bright spot; our server Luis (sp) had a superior attitude and did a great job.
Excellent quality food best restaurant in flagstaff! Accidentally stumbled upon them was looking for something special for my birthday. They seated us on the patio was a beautiful night. I tried the special pan seared snapper, sun dried tomatoe bacon risotto & veggies AMAZING!!! Creme Brule was very good too! My friends meal crab cake dinner was outstanding. The staff really went out of their way to make my visit special. Highly recommend!
I came here due to the menu advertised online, which was not the menu being offered currently. We ended up leaving to go elsewhere. It does appear to be a homey location with excellent service. Our host and waiter was very understanding of our preference and very accommodating. Will return when in town again and the menu is reflective of accurate listing online.
The atmosphere was great and so were the drinks. But the veggie omelet was not good. My husband had the Flagstaff burger and he said it was not great, either. We wouldn't go back.
We had a delicious dinner tonight in a magnificent historic home, just perfection.... if you're in Flagstaff or anywhere in Northern Arizona do not miss dining at Josephine's!!!! Great service and food! This is a quaint place with a huge wine list and outdoor seating which makes you feel liie you're in a manicured garden. Love it here
Food and atmosphere were fantastic! I love different flavors and mixes of ingredients, and their whole menu is unique. I had a bite of all my family s plates :) and it was all delicious! We had the fried green tomatoes app, Ginger beer fish tacos, spicy buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, and the short rib sandwich. I will remember Josephine s and visit the next time we re in Flagstaff. Can t wait to tell me friends!
Cute place but very average food for the price. I got the short braised ribs, mashed potatoes weren't great. Husband got the Diablo shrimp Mac and cheese and that was pretty good. Not worth the price though.
Went for my wife s Birthday. Had reservations. That worked out fine. Place is an old house. Squeakiest floors I ve ever heard. Waiter was next to impossible to get. Food came out cold. Very disappointed.
Love this historical, friendly, classy place for brunch and dinner. The mac and cheese is a great splurge. Cocktails are great. Service is always top notch.
Very nice patio. Soup and brie baklava where amazing. Roasted green tomatoes were very good, but not perfect. Thinner tomatoes slices would have made it a notch better I think.
Pricey but amazing food! It's a great atmosphere for birthdays, special occasions, anniversaries, etc. They can be dead after 8pm so if you are looking for a fun environment, arrive earlier.
