Joseph's Family Restaurant Stillwater Review

A long-time customer of Joseph's, this place is great, through and through. Food is good, staff is welcoming, atmosphere family-friendly and relaxed. No wonder they have has so many regular customers.

Breakfast is all day. Burgers are all very good (Lumberjack Burger, featuring cheddar and bacon, is popular), but the real star of the show is pie. Joseph's French Silk pie is legendary in our family. Macadamia nut, Rhubarb Delight, and chocolate caramel supreme are also popular. All pies are made from scratch right there, and the quality shows.

The bar features standard wines, beers, and cocktails, with an emphasis on local companies (Lift Bridge, St. Croix Vineyards, etc.)

The east side is wheelchair-accessable, the west side has high-top tables and raised booths. Bar seating is also available.

I ordered their mandarin orange salad. I was extremely disappointed with the meal. Both my wife and son were also disappointed with their meals. It seemed like the chef didnt care what he/she put out. Their pie was good though. We will definitely NOT be eating there again.

Great lemon and pecan pie, but the carrot cake was amazing! My son said the French toast was the best he's ever had!

Good soup and sandwich for lunch. Good service with a smile too. My buddy had the breakfast skillet, said it was great. I will have to try that next time.

The garlic mashed potatoes were excellent! Everything else was poor. Our waitress was so disinterested in our table. Celebrating a 95th birthday was an extreme disappointment. Not returning.

Great food, reasonable prices, good portions. Had always come here for pie, today was the first time I ordered from the menu. Tasted great with fast service!

Had lunch today. Server Tammy was wonderful. Chicken black bean soup was tasty. Reuben sandwich was delicious--very tasty. Cherry pie for dessert and iced tea. We will be back!

Nice mom and pops place with great food and service. Home made pies are delish!

One of the best eggs benedict and hash browns I have ever eaten. Usually I go to Perkins because of their amazing eggs benedict. This is now my new favorite place 4 eggs benedict.

I joined a friend here for lunch and I am glad I did. I had the Mandarin Orange salad with chicken. It was delicious. A perfect blend of flavors including a citric dressing that really blended everything together perfectly. Then, the pies. My goodness, the pies. I had a sour cream and raisin pie that just a single slice had to weigh 2 pounds. It was divine. Perfect blend of cinnamon and sweet. I highly recommend everything here. I will definitely be going back.

I Love their breakfast! They never disappoint. Ever!

Service was great.
However food was sub par. Because we arrived late, it wasnt busy.
They closed at 9pm and the lights were shut off in the dining room while we were finishing. Kind of a rude send off.

Good food and service. Lots to choose from and they have a bar. Will be back.

Awesome food and very wonderful and friendly and welcoming staff. Awesome atmosphere and fast service. Pie's are the bomb. I recommend this family friendly restaurant for all ages!

Very good but today they didn't bring the Fry's with my burger

Food was okay, nothing spectacular. We had to wait a long time for the waitress to come back to the table and it wasn't all that busy. Prices were a bit high for the amount and quality of the food. Nice quiet place though, making conversation easy.

With adding the full bar, they have really dressed the place up. Cozy. Very nice for dinner for 2, or a group of friends. You can't beat the pies.

They have made so many changes. It just doesn't have the nice home atmosphere as it useto.

Meatloaf special was for lunch. It was outstanding! But overdone corn when fresh veggies are in season.

Drinks are very good and beer is good value. Food was excellent as was the service.

From Duluth and always stop at Joseph's! Every meal is excellent!

Breakfast was awful. Our first visit to this place was memorable but not in a good way. Wife's omelette was cold, hash browns undercooked. My pancakes were cold, hard on the outside and undercooked in the middle.

Haven't been here in 15 years. Pie just as tasty as in my youth. Split a dish with my mother and they divided it up nicely in the back...love it when they do that!

Burger was fine for the price. Wait staff was helpful. Fries were very good fluffy but crunchy.

Poor service. I sat at the bar to order breakfast to eat in and eventually 2 whole pies to go. Eventually a server came around. Food was ok...bacon was not cooked even though I asked for it crispy. Much better diners in the area for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The pies however are good and I recommend them.

The place was actually pretty nice but the portly barkeep was in my opinion very rude and stand-offish. She may have just been having a bad day but, it is just my opinion. Otherwise, the fries were very good.

I have been coming to Joseph's for over 14 years on a weekly basis for meetings, lunches, family gatherings, Bible studies, and many other reasons. Joseph's always has fantastic food, wonderful service, and great staff. It is a wonderful place to eat anytime of the day and for any reason!

Thoroughly enjoyed this family style restaurant with classic liver and onions on the menu. Great service and generous (but not ridiculous) portions at a fair price.

My son and I stopped there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. This was my first time there. There was no wait to be seated (though we were there a bit after the lunch rush). Both the hostess and server were exceptionally friendly, courteous and prompt.

We both ordered burgers and were very pleased with them. I typically order a hamburger medium, which most places end up drying out or over cooking. Much to my delight, my burger was juicy and flavorful. It wasn't dripping fat and condiments, but genuinely juicy. The fries were some of the best I've had in a long time - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with just a touch of flavor (not coated in funky spices or salt).

To be honest, the prices were just a hair less than what I would have expected, given the quality of the food and ambiance. I would definitely go there again.

Been going here for the better part of 10 years and they consistently have great food and service. Good specials and even of you don't like those the regular menu is extensive and everything is great. One of the best breakfast places around.

Server was very friendly! We had a larger group and we still recieved our food in a timely manner and it was very very good!

I just had pie and tea but what a great place. Pie was excellent. Restaurant was lovely for a family visit.

They had great breakfast and lunch! The place was pretty crowded and the server forgot about us a couple times. But the food was delicious and was served quickly! Definitely will go again!

The food was good the pies on the other hand wasn't, i took home 2 pieces the both were very poor the banana cream had no taste and the banana's were black, and the stawberry came with 3 strawberries and no crust I was very disappointed. I expect more from a place that comes recomeneded from others that have eaten there for years.

We met people and talked for quite a while. It took them a long time to take are orders. They sed they wanted to let us talk but it took a long time to serve us and it was not hot.
I've have never had complaints before.

Not sure what the issue today was, but the server was ungodly slow at even getting us our menus, drinks were missing key things (just straight vodka for a lemon drop, which made it undrinkable). Heard other patrons complaining about how bad food was so we left, again not sure what happened seeing as this place had 4/5 stars but I will never come here again.

Haven't been here in over a year. The new remodeling is awesome ! Food is even better !! Our server Kathy Henry was awesome !!

Good beef patty melt, chix rice soup, German potato salad and pie. Also good service.

Food and prices were outstanding!!! Bare minimum service though. Waitress paid very little attention to us. We had to ask for everything including napkins and refills for our drinks and it was difficult to get her attention.

Pi Day If you're celebrating pi day at Joseph's, I recommend the taco special. Give it a try

ate here tonight, got the steak and shrimp special ...got a 3oz. steak and 2 shrimp mashed potatoes and a half an ear of corn with an ice tea... bill was $17.66...wont be back for some time now. must of had to pay for his new fancy sign...

Go there pretty often usually not a problem the last few times their chicken was awful tasted burnt.we were there recently with friends and he had soup which was thin and watery.

I like the service and the customer care is very good, but it seems to lack a lot of choices and could be so much better 8/10
