They have a good selection and reasonable prices. The people are quite nice and helpful. But they can be out of some items I'd expect them to have in stock.
Great customer service and great employees who are more than willing to go the extra mile to make sure your questions get answered.
Best sporting goods store around. Fishing, livr bait, snow sports, guns, clothing, etc. My only regret going here is seeing that I overpaid somewhere else. In store prices are often lower than website price.
Always have been a big fan of Joe's. Fish, ski, hunting and apparel.
My first time to Joe's since they built this new store and moved from Dale Street.
Found what I was looking for and had great service. Love the new store.
Love this place...very knowledgeable staff. Place is always stocked..never a bare spot.
Purchased a handgun there and they are very knowledgeable and helpful from start to finish. I signed up for Cary and conceal class at Joe's and it was great the instructor had so much experience and was so helpful. Best store ever it you want anything for sporting goods just go with Joe's.
I will be exclusively shopping for fishing supplies here. The staff has been so helpful and kind EVERY time I go and I don t ever feel like im being upsold. 10/10 would recommend.
Great experience at the store. Had a good selection of the ammo I needed and the firearms staff is extremely friendly. Would highly recommend!
Customer Appreciation day was a huge event. Got some great deals.
Very good pricing on name brand items! Selection is limited (went to find snow pants but didn't have any women's pants that weren't pink). Will definitely be going back for more items as I need them.
Two stars is for the fishing sales they have periodically. Recently had a gun shipped to another FFL from joes. Never got tracking from Kevin. My gun sat at joes for 3 days Upon calling Kevin to see if it had been shipped got some attitude and getting told I did not pay. My gun sat for 3 days with no sign of joes staff reaching out to me even if they have horrible communication in the workplace. Once I got confirmation that my gun shipped, still never got any tracking information. Horrible customer service never using joes for any type of firearm dealing again.
I was in the market to buy my first ski boots and had several recommendations to visit Joe's because of their customer service. I was not let down. The man who helped me really new his stuff, saved me loads of time, and helped me feel comfortable with my purchase. Highly recommended!
Two big sporting good purchases in my life, and after all my research, I bought at Joe's
Generally speaking I like Joe's. They have a great selection of high-end gear and clothing, the cashiers are extremely helpful and courteous and the floor staff overall is fairly attentive. Comments about the pricing being high is rather silly given the fact that the products they sell are of the best quality and are high-end in nature as previously stated. Brands like Filson, Patagonia, and Dale of Norway are going to be pricey wherever you go. If you wait for their seasonal sales there always bound to be some good deals.
However, my only complaint is about their firearms department. They have a fine selection of quality products and accessories as to be expected, but it seemingly is the one department in the entire store that seems to be rude or short tempered. With but one or two exceptions every interaction I have had has been unpleasant for no reason whatsoever. I have even been hung-up on before after asking a question about a product, the employee simply said "no" and then click.
However, it is the most recent occurance that has made me change my review. For the past two years I have had a firearm transferred to them around the holidays. The first year everything went swimmingly. However, this year when the shipping notification came in I received no call by the end of the day. I called the next day and they said I would receive a call most likely by Monday which I knew meant Tuesday because Monday was the 1st of the year. It will now be one week tomorrow since they have had my firearm and I have received no call at all about my firearm. Each of the two times I did call I received the same rude firearm department service I have come to expect from Joe's.
I have worked in retail for years, my wife was the head of the receiving department at her job for several years, and it does not take five calender days to receive a product that came in on FedEx delivery. I am not sure if my paper work has been lost, if they have decided to prioritize receiving other products or what, but the whole department doesn't seem to care about what is going on. I would call a third time but I am nearly certain I would receive the same disdainful treatment.
As I said, I like Joe's and I like virtually everything else about them, including hiring from the local Hmong community. I will continue to patronize them going forward but I will not be transferring any more firearms to them and am likely to make my gun and ammunition purchases elsewhere.
Great store, awesome fishing selection during covid and it's great they have a mask policy
I've been a customer of Joe's for over 10 years and have always been steered in the right direction on any purchase I was looking to make. The employees take their time with you and make sure you are comfortable with what ever investment you are looking at making. I spend most of my time in the fishing department, hunting, and camping as my knees from many years of racing will not let me ski the way I enjoy anymore. If youre looking for fishing stuff see Roger, he's a little shorter and has a shaved head, he will likely greet you with "whats going on cuzin" and he knows the equipment pros and cons. Ive almost never walked out of Joe's with a bad experiance.
Nice place, have everything for outdoor activity. I do fishing and they even have leech sell by pound :)
Quality brands and their clearance sales are awesome. 50% off Patagonia stuff when we were there.
Visited a couple of weeks ago. Lovely well-organized store and attentive staff who checked in more than once. I LOVED the mask requirement and the gentle, friendly way it was being enforced. I felt safe and that, more importantly, the staff are being protected. Will return when we have need.
Discriminates against Americans with Disabilities. Cited Medical Condition when TOLD to wear a mask in their store.
Escorted from store when refused to do so.
I will NEVER do business with this OVERPRICED company again.
Especially when I m not hassled at Sportsman Guide, Sportmans Warehouse, Cabelas, Fleet Farm NOR even Wal-Mart....
Not the closest to me, but worth the trip for me. The staff is very welcoming and helpful and I can be in and out quickly. I also really appreciate their Covid measures.
Really nice staff and very helpful.....great product range and I shop here often....winter jackets, shoes, sports clothing for women great too.....
Well, I wanted to look at a long gun, the salesman didn't seem very interested with helping me, so I left and bought a gun at a gun range.
Terrible customer service. I now go to Hi Tempo in white bear lake for ski gear. Joe s is an absolute joke.
This review is solely focused on the fishing division of the store. I've been here 3-4 times to purchase a new rod or reel, and every time I've went, the fishing staff has been extremely rude and/or unknowledgeable. Clearly, Joe's doesn't hire people that care or actually know about fishing gear, which is sad. Please don't make me drive to Cabela's... Outside of the fishing gear staff, I'm still a fan of Joe's Sporting Goods.
I have purchased most of our family's downhill ski equipment from Joe's and we have been completely satisfied with the service and value. We have rarely had a problem with any of the products and when we did the staff has been very helpful. The store does get very busy so you have to be patient!
The ppl that work there know wha t they're talking about. I stopped going to cabanas because they didn't even know if they had a medium light fast rod in store. The guys at Joe know what's in their own store.
Love this place. It has everything an outdoor person could want, hunting, fishing, hiking, and skiing. They may not have the lowest prices but the service is simply the best. Better than any big box store.
Went in to buy new skis, boots and poles and had a great experience. They had great sales and were cheaper than pierce by a wide margin and even a little cheaper than erik's for the same skis I wanted. Also had my bindings adjusted and on my skis within 20 minutes of purchasing. I will be back!
Outstanding customer customer service. Had to exchange my defective downhill skis and Joe exchanged them for a better pair without hesitation.
Expensive, employees follow me around. Worried more bout thefts then customer service
I was looking for some high end warm winter boots. Looking for Baffin and Irish Setter and they had those plus more. Was able to try them all on and they were all 20% off! This was our first time there, will definitely be back. The whole family found something and the staff was able to find stuff for us that was not out on the floor but inventory showed they had some. Thanks Joe s.
Great experience. Customer service was great and informative.
This place looks smaller than cabelas...but dayem! This place has more inventory in stock than cabelas! Awesome place!
Knowledgeable staff. Ski kayak paddle board canoe kayak. Solid gun sales and shooting accessories. Used gun inventory and ammo sales. They also sell hunting licenses both in state and out of state. I always enjoy stopping at Joe's. Give them a try if you haven't already. Also very solid fishing and fishing accessories. Live bait as well. I have nothing but good things to say about Joe's!
Things are easy to find, got everything I needed for the day
Best independent sporting goods store around. They're pricey but sell quality goods. They seem to care about the community they're in and they have items for just about every sport imaginable. Glad to have them so close to me.
I love Joe's, employees there are nice and very helpful. I have gotten the best service here than any other sporting goods or any stores in the twin cities. Joe's really know how to treat their customers.
Out of Sporting Clays on two occasions ....that must think that there is a shelf life on them.!
Off to Gander Mountain now. ..and in the future.
Something for every outdoors person here no matter what the season. Good quality as well.
A real outdoors store with helpful staff. A little pricey for my budget but good selection and quality items.
Chris was patient and knowledgeable. He helped us find a ski package for our daughter.
Fantastic store. People who work there are very friendly and knowledgeable. Awesome selection of all your fishing and hunting supplies along with other outdoor sports.
Great place for all your outdoor needs. Always helpful staff and very knowledgable about their areas of expertise.
Nice friendly place for a outdoor store! Very helpful employees there who know what they're talking about. It's a bit small so it's my quick and get out for outdoor stuff. Fishing, hunting, ammo, camping etc Joe's Sporting has your back!
Always have been a big fan of Joe's. Fish, ski, hunting and apparel.
Easy, in & out... Helped me find what I was looking for.
Cool little store with a lot of cool stuff for outdoor sports plenty of hunting gear running gear fishing just about everything outdoors only walking through the self protection / hunting isles I ran across some pretty disturbing items that should be taken off the shelves as they are VERY DANGEROUS AND DECEIVING FOR CHILDREN please protect our children and take these deceiving items OFF the shelf really a first aid medic kit that conceals and hides a pistol ??? What if your children were to get a hold of this nonsense wasn't the most well thought out idea for protection concealment resthink this and try to come up with a better solution thank you other than that the staff seemed adiment about helping and very informational
Friendly knowledgeable staff, great selection, quality stuff at good prices
The guy behind the hunting counter was so nice. He was an exmarine and knew all what he was talking about.
Please tell all the people in the store to wear their mask over the nose. There is no point in wearing the mask if it isn t done correctly. The store is currently not a safe environment for the employees and other customers until you mandate this.
Love this store. Really only one of it's caliber in the metro. Their selection is always geared towards modern tree and keeping up with real needs rather than what can fill up shelves cheap and make large margins on. Just wish they weren't so far from Lakeville. Then again, that probably saves me a great dealnof money. T
Back in April, I brought in a downhill ski pole that needed a new tip. I already had been turned away from Hoigaard's ("You need to take it to a Swix dealer") and REI ("We don't repair poles").
The fellas in Joe's ski shop had a replacement tip in stock, fixed the pole in 20 minutes, and wouldn't take any money for labor. That kind of service underscores the value of a good, local ski shop. I spent less than $10 for a service no other shop in town would even bother with.
The best place to get your hunting and fishing equipment in the metro area. Great service and family owned and operated. Go here to feel like family.
Refused service due to not being able to wear a mask. They do not serve people with disabilities and will embarrass you in front of other people over your disability.
Edit to reply to the store's reply. We were trying to be fitted for skis for me and our 3 children. I the mother, was the only one without a proper mask out of our family of 5. It was disappointing and embarrassing. I have been a regular customer of Joe's since you were on Rice St, and to be followed around the store until I found my husband and be asked to leave like that was rude. I at least was trying to wear some type of mask to adhere to your rules. If they ever start allowing suits for people discriminated on for not being able to wear masks I will be pursuing your company. This should be in violation of ADA laws!! Again I will be spreading word to several regular customer to not shop at your store!
Good selection. Nice store. Well setup. Attentive staff. Nice ski and snowboard section
Excellent store for the outdoors enthusiast. The employees are helpful and they have some great sales.
I am a long time Joe's patron, writing a review I probably should have written years ago as I have always received 5-star customer service!
Joe's has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to ensure your questions are answered and your needs are met. Joe s carries quality products and routinely rewards customers with great sales and thank you coupons. I can safely say, customer service is Joe s number 1 priority!
In response to the Google reviewer claiming discrimination on December 12th My wife and I were witnesses to this particular dispute (occurred at approx. 9:45 am) and although the man has his right to claim his condition, he also walked into the store in a pre-elevated state looking for a dispute. I am here to vouch that the store associates and manager handled this man with poise and professionalism, rapidly de-escalating the situation, allowing all the other happy customers to continue shopping without having to worry about one erratic customer. The way in which this was handled highlights what a great store Joe s is and the great character of the people they employ!
Thank you, Joe s, for being a fantastic sporting goods store in our community!
You get a lot of minnows per scoop. Not like some area bait shops where you get about 15.
Stopped by clueless about what fishing reel to get. Tracy helped me out and rigged me an awesome setup!
Best ski sales team in the cities. They really take the time to make sure ski boots fit correctly. Had a ski break due to an accident and they were able to get it warrantied. No better place to buy!
Been to 4 sporting good stores to prepare for a camping trip this weekend. Joe's sporting goods actually had stuff on the shelf in the camping aisle. Well laid out store well priced gear. Even have sales on gear right now some 50% off and hiking boots also 50% off men and women's
They have people that work there. That are very nice and great option.
Gunshop- my experience with Brian, Nick and Alicia was outstanding. They were very knowledgable and helpful. My only reason for leaving off a star is that I did not recieve an email when my order had arrived however it's an incredibly busy season during this Covid pandemic. They had ammo in stock which most stores do not. Excellent job guys.
