Maniac Coffee easily fights for my #1 favourite coffee spot in the city for both quality and atmosphere (competing only with Jimmy's Coffee within Kensington Market). One of the best mocha's I've had to date and a quaint, peaceful atmosphere within for working.

Also, the 5' backlit acorn logo is pretty awesome.

The drip coffee was good, could be stronger, but that's just my taste in coffee (can't get dark enough).

Best croissant I've had in Toronto yet, they must use real butter (from europe), not the weird stuff you find here.

Very hipster style coffee shop. Great service and great coffee. If you want to go study, there are only outlets in the back of the shop and very weirdly placed - make sure to pre-charge your devices lol.

This has always been the best coffee in Toronto (IMHO); but, recently, they started offering lunch combos of sandwich+salad or sandwich+soup that are absolutely fabulous.
But what makes these deals almost impossible to resist is their price:~8$
Add to that the option of getting an awesome macchiato after lunch and there you have it: one of the best lunch deal in TO.
Update from July 2017: They have a new batch of gelato flavors that are very compelling and original. A must-try.

Went in looking to buy coffee bans and received knowledgeable advice from staff on the different roasts they offered. Great service!

Distancing lines are clearly marked on the floor, which is nice.

Great place to do some work or chat with friends with great quality coffee and you can get an amazing sandwich and soup or salad. Nice atmosphere, cool design, great staff. (But not many outlets if your working on a computer and no wifi)

Really nice cosy spot, ideal for quick informal lunches. Kinda small interior, but don't be scared, most people have their orders to go so you get seating space.
Food comes out real quick, friendly staff, tasty food and good prices.
I would recommend for quick, clean & light lunch option.

Cute shop! Biggest thing working in this shop's favor is the warm and comfortable decor and great location. My experience at this shop wasn't fabulous, however. Not bad, but not good enough to come back.

Cons: where are the electric plugs?! They are few and far between. They have plenty of seating so they obviously know that people will want to use their shop to sit and work while sipping their coffee, but, how are you supposed to write a paper or browse social media if your devices are all dead?
The "regular" drip coffee was $2.14 CAD and was pretty small in size. Additionally, my cup was full of burned coffee. When was it brewed? Who knows! But it had that metallic taste of coffee that's sat in the pot for too long at too high of a temperature.

All in all, not a terrible experience but also not one to write home about. It looked so nice from the outside but was ultimately exceedingly disappointing. I could have made better coffee at home with corner store bought Maxwell House grinds.

Always a wonderful experience at Manic with the most helpful service and delicious products. I suggest this place to anyone who will listen and stop by each time I'm in Toronto.

Sometimes packed with other patrons, and no WiFi since we should all unplug and smell the coffee!

Latte was good, and the ambience was fine... It's just that the place didn't have Wi-Fi... That's really only reason why I gave four stars; now I know some coffee shops don't have Wi-Fi to encourage the experience of drinking coffee, talking with people, and basically not relying on technology so much (totally respect that). But given my situation at the time, wish they had it. Plus, they need more areas with outlets (but again, that might sort of tie in with no Wi-Fi topic).

The coffee is ok BUT THEY DONT HAVE WIFI and seem to be proud of it. I just walked in the rain with my laptop to get here and do some work but this is limited due to the lack of a basic amenity that most coffeehouses have. I suspect they would rather turn tables over as quickly as possible then provide patrons a good coffeehouse experience.

Boxcar social coffee beans are served here. There were lots of people there who were there to do work. Tables at the front and back. A soy macchiato was ordered. Price was 4.05$. The coffee was decent not great. It was a busy place but music was loud to have conversation. With the type of table and setup it seemed like a good place to do work on a laptop but I was informed no Wi-Fi was provided. No food was eaten but looked like there was a few nice light options.

I don't drink coffee but I do love a good hot chocolate! They make a damn good one here, wish I could go there more often. Unfortunately one star off because as I sat there, they turned on the overhead fan for circulation and down came a downpour of huge clumps of dust. They didn't even notice until another customer complained. They turned it off but they didn't bother to clean up the area right away. I had to leave since I have bad dust allergies. I'm sure it's a one off thing (considering all the dust is now off the fan lol) but something they probably should have kept clean to begin with.

I came to T.O. from Europe almost 3 weeks ago to visit family, now I'm stuck here... This was the first place that made me a proper espresso, and I've been searching. I'll definitely go back. Thanks!

The only reason I m giving this 3 not 5 stars is because they don t have WiFi. Toilets are in the basement with keys that barely work to get into them. Chai tea latte was spot on as was their baked goods.
Extremely polite and helpful staff. But come closing time you have 15 minutes to GET OUT

I've been ordering Black Cat Classic beans from their website for a year now. They mail out pretty quickly (2-3 business days) I wanted to say THANK YOU to the staff at Manic Coffee for making online ordering possible and quick!

College st. and Kensington are known to be littered with unique coffee shops but Manic seems to always rise above the rest for quality and atmosphere. Excellent drip and cappuccinos if you need an early morning pick me up. Stop by and try the ham and cheese croissant if you are in the neighborhood.

A lot of seating, which is great. The decor is a little cold for my tastes, the coffee is pretty expensive but okay. The snacks are expensive and not very impressive. No wifi. I think they have plated food but I have not tried it. The staff are awesome and its incredibally clean. I love that they have a little water station. Like any place in the area, washrooms are not accessable and down a big flight of stairs.

Manic is great for business meetings and getting a bit of wifi-free work done. Not great for dates or comfortable/casual me-time.

Relatively large sized coffee shop. No wifi. Had the cold brew and have to say it's one of the worst cold brews I've had at a specialty coffee shop in a while. Was slightly sour, not smooth and generally not tasty.
