We've come here for many years everytime we visit Galveston, but we've noticed the quality declining.

The food was lukewarm, the portion was so small that someone like me who usually has to take home half the dish was actually able to finish the food, the vegetables were undercooked and hard, the shrimp rubbery, the macaroni was bland. It was a real disappointment. And definitely not worth $22

Came to galveston with my daughter's and we were waiting on our food.. Well my oldest just smiled at this waiter and he came over and just got on her level and just started talking to her... His name is James and he is absolutely amazing... He talked to her about what he is going to school for and he just made her feel important as well... Some waiters and waitresses forget that even though they are kids they like their interaction as well.. I will always come back because on top of this the food is always delicious and hot

I understand why a vast majority of Joe's have closed. We waited for over a half hour to even get drinks.

I would understand if they were busy, bur they weren't. Dirty tables piled all around until the manager came a cleaned them up.

She never once came back to refill our drinks, and was rude to us when taking our order. We asked to speak to the manager and he was sarcastically nice. Belittling us in a sense. Will return to other locations, but not Galveston.

Had a fantastic experience today! My wife and I are visiting from out of town and decided to try Joe's crab shack for the first time. Immediately we were greeted and our server also came by to introduce himself. He was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome to be there. Food was great and we plan to go back for supper tonight.

Landry s really broke the mold with this location. Classy to trashy instantly. Trash can in the restroom was overflowing. Unorganized at the hostess station, no direction of any kind by management. The restaurant, if you want to call it that, is a complete wreck. I m sorry I ever stepped foot in this place.

By far the best experience we've had at Joe's! Our waiter James, although we called him Thomas (inside joke) was great, very attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back and ask for him to be our waiter.

Waiter never came to check on us ,and we sent food back and still got charged for food that didn t get eaten my daughter literally took one bite of the burger and boyfriend took two little bites of pasta . I Spoke with the manager (black guy with dreads and glasses ) and all he had to say was can he refill our fountain drinks !

By far the worst experience. Ordered the crawfish and it was over cooked. They claim it's live crawfish but seemed like it had been cooked twice and had no flavor except what was sprinkled on top. Service wasn't great either .

Ordered carryout, got there to pick it up and it's just sitting on the bar, amongst their paperwork and some cleared plates. Couldn't get anyone to ring me up, though the two ladies at the bar had time to chat with someone at the bar and each other. Manager acknowledged me, then went to seat another party. Fed up, I left a note saying I didn't have time to wait for them to figure out who could run a register, and left my cash (didn't get my 0.15 change). The manager came back by as I was walking out, and I pointed to the money and note and walked out. Shocking that when I got back to our rental, it tasted like ass. Worst Joe's I've ever been to. Corporate should check this place out and clean house or close it.

Edwardo was really and truly the worst server. Never came to give us refills took so long to serve and bring us the check to the point we had to ask the busser. Messed up our checks that we got charged for other orders. And on top of that the food was absolutely atrocious I got the $55 crab mix pot and it was terrible. Not worth it at all

Credit card information stolen from this place and...

Credit card information stolen from this place and used at 3 different Walmarts in the Houston area. Called manager and he said he would pass onto corporate and someone would be in contact with me. That was 3 weeks ago and haven't heard from anyone. They have a foreign exchange program in the summer and most of them can barely take your order. I suspect it was our waitress who took the cards number or she had it laying out and someone took it down. No response from them is poor service. Only nice thing to say about this place is they let our dogs on the patio.

Great food and the host, Stormie was so nice and patient with my seating request. She was very helpful with helping me pick out shirts for my children and even suggested some great tourist attractions that we checked out later that day. Will definitely go back next time I am in town.

I missed Joe's Crab Shack when it closed down. First time back and they did not disappoint. Service was good. Manager came over to make sure we had fun and the kids played in the play area and had fun.

Normally we love Joe's. Tonight was not ok. First off, our waiter was inpatient with us deciding what we wanted to drink. When he finally came back, he took our drink order & was reluctant to go ahead to take our dinner order. When that came out, AB's had a hair attached to the plate & I had to ask 3 times for lemons & butter for my steam pot plus the utensils to eat it with. No manager in sight. It will be a while before be cone back to this location.

I have been to several Joe's establishments... and this one by far was the worst. Service was the main issue here. Any typical lunch should take at most 75 minutes. It took 45 minutes just to get drinks, and another 40 minutes for our food to come out.

I will start with a positive, the crab basket was delicious. The service needs much improvement. I don t understand how the service can be so poor when the capacity is lower.
We were seated on the patio at a table where both fans were broken. When we asked to move to an open table closer to a fan, the issues began. Others seated after us were getting their drinks and food before we did (same size party of 4). Food order was missing side dishes, shrimp was cold and dry and our drinks didn t come until half way through the meal. I asked for a bib but never received one. I admit, I am a messy crab eater and I dripped on my dress. Ugh.
When we finally got the check, our waitress said she was sorry but she hadn t had a break since noon.
So, management, ya need to do something.

We waited an hour due to social distancing only to have a waitress who would not keep her mask on. If your employees are going table to table with no mask on, chatting it up, it defeats the purpose of seating tables apart.

If i could give zero stars i would. Especially for being the almost last joes .the waiter (phil) only came but one time i had to flag him down most of the time . Asked for a refill and keept watching him pass and pass until my husband turned and asked for them once again. .once we got out food he asked if we needed anything else i told him yes . Amd we wanted and waited i flaged another person down and told him would u bring me ect .Neither Of the 2 came .i revived my stuff when i FINISHED MY FOOD !! But was quick to check me out . Great service. Fantastic food. Prices are quite high but for a seafood restaurant you have to expect that not to mention you're getting a lot of crab meat. If I bought frozen crab from the grocery store the price would probably be quite similar for the amount served.

Was really disappointed in Joe's! The shrimp were overcooked and bland. The broccoli was mushy and had no flavor. The redfish was cooked well but again, seriously lacked seasoning. The fish and chips were good, though. Overall seemed like a waste of money.

They were terribly understaffed and then the crab "machine" broke... After a one hour wait, we were seated under an air conditioner vent. When we asked to move outside (visibly open tables), we were told we would have to go back on the waiting list. Then the crab "machine" broke. We are going to Willie G's next time.

Terrible service... Had to ask for drink refills. Chicken tacos were obviously frozen, had to return them because they were terrible. Hubby had to return his lobster because it was rubbery and cold. We didn't have the crackers for the lobster, or the butter. Awful experience
