Why would you use frozen shrimp 100 yds from the ocean?

The staff sang Happy birthday to my late mother . My siblings and I visited the beach for her birthday like she wanted us to do. They were so sweet . They even kneeled down as they sang to her. They're angels !

Over two hours there. They blamed it on coronavirus so we will give them the benefit of the doubt this time. The food was delicious once we received it. Not sure why you would not schedule enough help to reasonably serve the few people they did let in.

Terrible service. Out of everything, loud drunk people. Very disappointing

This place had bad service. We kept getting food we never ordered, they forgot our forks and knives to eat with. The rice was not cooked well.. Way over priced for what you get.

We love Joe's Crab Shack but after this visit I will probably not go back. Should have been so much better, we had a great waitress but food was not great! The food was barely seasoned and our chips were stale, we paid too much for this to happen.

Great place to eat and they are willing to cater to your dietary needs without a fuss. One of our favorites to go to while on the island.

We came in to grab a couple of beers after a walk. Once our waiter realized that we weren't going to order food her mood completely changed. Once we received the beers, we asked for the receipt. However when we received it we noticed she charged us one extra beer. Once we told her she said " oh I was waiting for you to leave". There wasn't a sorry or anything. I understand that the bill was small, however it doesn't mean we would've given her a small tip.

It never fails. once you have a bad experience with the first employee you encounter, you can bet the rest of the visit is going to be bad. A few highlights from our visit -

The hostess took us to our table, then cleaned 3 other tables before ours while we stood there. We asked if we could sit at the table near the front of the outdoor area, but she said no because of a waitress shift change. 5 minutes later, people were seated there.

The waitress took our order, then left in silence. It was very strange. Our child accidentally spilled some milk, which seemed to agitate her. Not to worry, she cleaned the spill up with a wadded up paper towel halfheartedly, leaving the rest of the milk and the paper towel laying on the ground for the rest of the meal.

The food was not brought out all at once, we had to wait a long time before we could all start eating. This is chain restaurant food, maybe a little bit better than Chile's, but not by much. The hush puppies were pretty bad, everything else was just serviceable.

All in all, this is crap franchise restaurant food, but what makes this location special is the oblivious staff that obviously don't want to be there.

Good food, but don't eat outside unless you plan on dedicating one hand for eating and another for protecting your food from flies.

Really disappointed, our server and drinks were good, but the food.... smh maybe I'm just comparing to other Joe's (San Antonio Riverwalk), but usually when I eat at JCS, I get the huge steam pot spicy , where I would get a FULL lobster, succulent shrimp, sausage, and spice that would stick to my fingertips till the next day WELL, thinking this JCS was a lot closer to the water, the seafood would be GREAT, not the case......2 dried up lobster claws, small shriveled tail, TOUGH rubber shrimp, NO spice whatsoever, and I don't even know what kinda sausage that was. Hardly do I ever leave negative reviews but... damn

Worst server ever......... Told five people it was my sons 14th Birthday we sat and watched four other tables have a loud Happy Birthday song..For my son..Nothing.... spent 150.00 and it was not a happy time or good experience...... Worst part we live here...... We go all the time... I will call tomorrow and hopefully speak with someone who actually cares...

Super friendly staff and great food. Waitress made it a point to go above and beyond. The manager even came out to ask how everything was. Amazing Amazing Amazing!!!

I come here every year for lunch when I am on vacation and it never disappoints

Great vacation in Galveston! All Joe's are very good but this one was VERY good! Paul, our waiter was exceptional. Great food great time was had by all.

Too expensive. Can't hear because of the acoustics. Food was very good, so was the service.

We went in during waiters break and no one would wait on us. The servers were off to the side talking instead of waiting on tables.

Worst service I've had in my life. Emilee behind bar too distracted with making everyone's else's drinks and forgot about me. No refill on my tea and never asked if I wanted anything else or something to go, which I did but she ran off so fast I couldn't tell her. Stupid ridiculous and unacceptable.

Good food and great service. Best restaurant we ate at all weekend while in Galveston.

Our food was on our table before our drinks. Apparently they were understaffed. They food was awesome and we did get a free round of drinks for the slow service...without complaining

Seafood is ok but everything else is not that great.

We waited 30 minutes for our table then another 45 minutes for a salad. Then the salad came with the wrong dressing and we waited another 10 minutes for it. The rest of the food is mediocre. Service is good and apologized for everything but overall disappointing experience .

Poor service our waiter did not deliver at all. I have been to other Joe's crab shacks and had fun both this here. Hmmnmnm...not what the doctor ordered.

Wonderful place to eat. Always have new foods to try and helpful and knowlegable servers. It really looks like a shack with all the antiques throughout the resturant. They also have a plau ground for the kids to play while we enjoy our food and a perfect view of the water.

food was OK, not great just Okay. One of the main things I noticed and got me extremely worried is that our server decided to wear her mask as a chin guard the entire visit, this made me extremely uncomfortable.

I've been going to joes in galveston since I was a kid. I miss the old one just because of the style, but this one is just as good! Love the staff

Food is always great here, no matter what location I've visited, its always the same great flavor. But the service at our last visit wasn't the best. Joes is known for the fun outgoing staff, but sadly we didn't get to experience that during our visit.

Once the waiter finally found out we were his table, it was pretty good.

Great seafood. I had the salmon with a side of grilled shrimp. The salmon just melted in my mouth, wonderful flavor.

I was very dissatisfied with my visit here. I could have traveled down the road to Bubba Gump Shrimp and had a way better experience. The wait was long. Absolutely no catering to the customer. We had a very rude waiter that kept making snarky remarks to us anytime we needed something. The potatoes from the crab bucket were not even cooked all the way. It was a long wait for our drinks. We were celebrating a special occasion that day and we felt very unwelcomed and rushed to leave. In the end of it all out ticket was wrong. We ended up paying $25 more than we should have being a rewards member. Our discounts were not applied to the ticket even when we asked. We had no issues with any other restaurant besides this one. The main issue here was bad service and "okay" food.

This place is always great and what a wonderful server experience to top it off...

Ate there was on my birthday ( Mother's Day.) I highly recommend the bucket that has snow crab, dungous, and king crab all together. You will seriously feast. Great staff, in and outdoor seating with a ocean view.

Worst place I have ever eaten. Service was awful. Waiter was in such a hurry that he didn t listen to any of our requests or orders. Didn t bring things that we needed. Food was brought out wrong, over cooked shrimped and hair in our food. Just took the piece of food off our plate that had the hair. No discount or anything. We won t ever eat at another one. Yuck

Food was great but they were staffed a little short. There was a couple new trainees so they're obviously working on it. Crabs were spot on and delicious!

Jaymes our waiter was on pointe! Service was fantastic and the food was crazy good delicious. The steam pot was awesome...ordered in BBQ flavor. The blackened shrimp was darn good too. This was a very busy night given it was Valentine's. We had an absolutely nice dinner.

Food was great but staff was a little hit and miss.

Expensive! Good food, but save your money, and eat somewhere else just as good, and much cheaper.

The best thing about the experience was the cold cokes. Poor service. Poor food. Manager did not care.
So I left a 23 cent tip. Not going there or any other Joes. I m done.

I love Dungeoness crab they way they do it with their signature bbq seasonings. They also turned me on to Queen crab!

Service was great did not feel good about the crabs when they came. Went ahead and ate them. Probably should have sent them back and got something fried.

Was not impressed. Went on Easter and food came out cold and service was sub par. Took getting a manager to the table to get a high chair.

The food was good. I decided to buy a long sleeve t-shirt since they were on sale. Apparently the sign was deceiving and needs to be clarified. I was charged full price.

My kids loved the play area by the patio, the food was awesome but our server Brooke was what made our experience amazing. We stayed the weekend on the island and she provided better service than every other restaurant we ate at. If you visit, ask for Brooke. She is the best!

Food and service was good! Our experience was good. I was afraid with the low ratings but it turned out the ratings weren't accurate for us.

I had a wonderful time. The crabs were big and juicy. A bit pricey but definitely worth every penny.
