Wait is forever plan on being here 3 hours or more for food and clothing. But I always leave happy so worth the wait. Staff is usually very nice and helpful

"Marked displeasure" is understating my most recent experience with the Lakewood action center. Roughly this time last year, I would have had a much different opinion. I had a landlord lie to me about the Colorado tax credit and what it covered. Long story short, he was skimming money from me and many residents and the day he was found out, he disappeared and my power was disconnected. For the entire winter of 2019-2020, I had no power, therefore no heat. The Action Center paid a considerable portion of the bill will little to no fuss or delay. At the time, I was unemployed due to my brand new car breaking down and Kia refused to honor their 100,000 mile warranty AND the replacement of a recalled engine part that seized my engine because I bought from a third party. Being a rideshare driver, I was out of luck. Then I wound up in the hospital which led to me being unable to work. While waiting for disability, I was looking for work that I could do from home. My job search was promising, I had leads until COVID struck and all of America's employees started working from home. They were employees so they had priority and many companies slashed their employee rosters for lack of work to do. The pandemic directly affected my ability to find work, but according to the action center, that wasn't the case and they denied me assistance, without recommending any other options. They simply said "nope, you're not due any assistance because you were unemployed prior to COVID." They wouldn't even listen to reason when I told them I was as good as hired before the situation. I reapplied for assistance without COVID being the issue and they didn't even bother calling or emailing me.

I have been there a couple of times it great. The people are very helpful. I give it a 3 because I get a box of food that comes I'm the Coors boxs & the volunteers dnt wanna give me stuff off the shelf if the box says it in my box. I know what's on the shelf doesn't always come in the box -so why can't I have what's on the shelf? Kinda sucks the volunteers chose for me. So don't get the premade box of food.

A great place to help locals when they are down on their luck. From a temp mailing address, pet spay/ neuter vouchers, food bank, clothing site, and much more.

This place is super helpful. They help with Clothes,food,hygiene,household goods, and lots of resources some vouchers when they have them. This place is great!

They couldnt help my friend because you need to live in jefferson county but all in all they are all wonderful people that work there. Thank you for your kindness

Call them and all they did was hang up on me. They are open at 830am and they won't even answer their phone. So again I'm just gonna walk right in and make them give me a appointment. Like really. At least explain to me why you can't answer the phone. How am I supposed to make a appointment if you don't answer or answer then hang up. How rude.

On another note. Because I couldn't get ahold of them and I came in to get food because I have none at home. They are booked today. And can't get me in till tomorrow. Thanks guys like really. So I get to starve all day till I can get in. Wow.
